By far one of my worst experiences here today. The girl who made my pizza clearly didn't want to be at work. Her name tag was a little obscured but I think her name was Remj. I got an art lover and the entire time she asked what I want on my pizza I was met with attitude as if adding on mushrooms was a problem for her. She didn't even dollop on the red sauce proportionately but just threw a two globs on top and tossed the order paper to the person working at the register. This isn't how customer service works. When the customer is trying to be nice and is met with a worker coping an attitude it really takes away from the experience. Better pizza than most of the other local pizza shops. Good pizza is very hard to find in California but this personal size pizza really hits the spot. I know it's a chain restaurant but I am pretty impressed with the quality of the food. The ingredients are fresh and the crust is thin and crispy. The regular red sauce is a little spicy, so be careful if you go with the actual spicy sauce. It's got jalapeños in it. The service is good and the appearance is very clean. The only thing I would complain about is that sometimes it seems like they have too much staff behind the counter. Believe it or not but when there are too many people back there trying to make your pizza, it can move kinda slow before it makes its way to the oven. read more

Blaze Pizza is great if you have dietary restrictions. They offer gluten-free crust and vegan cheese which is soy-free. If you ask, they will change their gloves before handling the toppings of your pizza. They have a separate pizza cutter for the vegan pizzas too. The gluten-free crust is a little more floppy than the standard crust. Occasionally I have seen that cheese is dropped in the pizza sauce so if you're vegan, there's a chance you could end up with dairy on your pizza. They are very accommodating though and if you ask, they'll go get unmolested sauce for you. (Yes, I can be a pain sometimes as a customer). I know that the toppings get mixed slightly because the staff get so busy and are trying to knock the pizzas out quickly and most employees look like high school or college kids. If you are very strict about anything that touched meat touching your food, you may be unhappy with the food handling. The manager is quick to do whatever it takes to make the order right and to make sure you walk away happy. Pros: The pizzas taste good. Great vegetarian options. Gluten-free crust option. The price is great. Even when busy, the line moves pretty quickly. Customize your pizza however you want. Children-friendly Cons: Parking can be challenging during busy times. Toppings all "touched" by gloves that touched meat. Only one size pizza. Often crowded. If you want good cheap pizza, I recommend Blaze Pizza. read more

It's only been open six days and we've been there twice, once on Friday for the free pizza and again today. I can't say enough nice things about Blaze Pizza! First, the crowd last Friday was intense, but the crew was so completely organized that, despite lines down the block and around the corner, it didn't take very long before everyone was happily munching down on the BEST pizza I've ever eaten! My niece wanted some food, came in here on a Friday night , it was very busy and noisy , but the pizza is great , this place is like pieology , you get to choose what you'd like on your pizza, they have outside sitting area perfect to avoid the noise inside. Visited blaze today for the first time. I ordered the lunch pizza which is only half a pizza but they gave me a full one. I spoke to the manager and she only charged me for half. Then I order two doughknots and they burnt them three times. Finally got it right on the fourth time and when they brought them to my table they brought two cookies as well. They stated twice they would refund my money but never did. I didn't push the issue because they were really busy. Despite them being busy they were on it! We got in and out pretty quickly. The restaurant was clean. The loudness was frustrating. I couldn't hear the staff. I couldn't even hear myself think. (Although, I will say that I cannot go there without getting some sort of pizza that has mushrooms, onions, spinach and pesto... yum! ) About the Pizza... California, thin-crust pizza cooked to perfection in their massive fire oven. SO many toppings to choose from, including the tomato sauce, the cheese, the crust and more. About the Atmosphere... This place is pop'n! So many people from all walks of life come to enjoy amazing, fresh made individual pizzas. What is so great about this place is there is something for EVERYONE. On a recent trip there, I went with other friends. One of them Vegan, another Gluten-free and dairy-free, and another who is a born carnivore. The first time I ate here was a free pizza day for all Chapman University students. If you came in with your student ID card on a particular day in September, students ate for free from 11:30-3pm. It was amazing. Not just because it is nice to get free pizza, (which I mean, come on, who would complain about that?) but the owners realized that not only are the majority of their customers are students, but also that they are college students with no money. When arriving to the restaurant, all the employees were in uniform, but also were sporting some sort of Chapman University logo or apparel. It was really just so sweet, and made me feel like I was home. Everyone was so incredibly nice and accommodating. Seeing that I had never been there, the staff was so excited to offer up their suggestions. Here is the thing, I was able to get a 4 topping, thin crust, personal pizza (fresh made in the fire oven right in front of me), for free. What a steal right? Now, not every day is free pizza day, but it was a great way to find out about this place, and now is one of my favorite places to go grab a bite. And for that same 4 topping pizza, at full price retails for $8.99. So reasonable considering the quality and quickness. Bottom Line... Blaze is a clean, fun atmosphere with pleasant staff and delicious, fresh food. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. So go try it out! You can thank me later. :) read more

Another great make your own pizza place. We ordered a gluten free pizza -- each half with different toppings. It was very delicious although, I did find something odd in my pizza. I found a long piece of plastic that look like a rice noodle. I wasn't sure if it was food or not so I took the strange looking "piece of food" to the front to ask them what it was. Some dig-bat male staff member replied, "dur, I don't know. It's probably from the pizza or something." And I said "So it's normal to have stuff that looks like plastic in the food?" He totally just ignored me. After I b*tched loudly about his response to my husband---another staff member came out and gave us our money back. I wasn't expecting to get our money back but that was nice of them. She said she was sorry and it probably came off of one of the brushes that they use on the pizza. This review gets 5 stars not just because the food was yummy, the restaurant clean and the location awesome, but because the gal who helped us was so very helpful--not the norm these days. Her name is Karina and she helped assemble our pizza and was able to answer any questions and make suggestions. She was cheery and had a great personality. Later, when we went to sit at our table she came over and made sure it was wiped down enough. Then we saw her wiping down the other tables, and you could just tell that she is a very hard worker who takes her job seriously. I came to blaze pizza yesterday for national pie day which is one of the busiest days of the year for blaze due to their deal of every pizza for $3.14. Anyways, I was so impressed by everything! The organization, cleanliness, quickness, and friendliness of this place! The line was super long but there was a kind man taking care of the line and letting in the appropriate amount of people inside so it wouldn't be chaotic- organization. We were finally let in and there wasn't a mess in sight, all the tables were wiped down, trash cans weren't overflowing, and the floor was swept and completely clean, i would eat off the floor if someone dared me- cleanliness. Even though we were finally let inside the building, there was still a line to create your pizza, there was an employee for each task like veggie toppings, sauce, meat toppings, and dough, basically an assembly line which made the line go by fast- quick. While every single one of the employees were remarkable and warm, a boy by the name of Sam really enhanced my already superb experience, his greeting was so nice and really talked to me about my day and recommended the pesto sauce, which was by the way amazing and it's probably my new favorite, Sam was great- friendliness. I love how the customer service is and the whole pizza processing technique is going, but once I start getting the food, my mouth is salivating and eager to throw a fit about how expectations should be met with pizza, since it's an American food everyone knows and loves. Once, I take a bite, my dreams and memories were forgotten and it just die deep down. The bread was too crunchy and it was burnt from the bottom on my pizza dough, not just on mine, but my gf's pizza as well. I know it's like midnight or almost closing time, but it doesn't mean any less how tired you guys are, but put effort and make sure the food isn't burnt. What if the employees eat the pizza they were making? Wish I could rate zero stars. Terrible service. There was a group of two guys in front of my friend and I and they were treated terribly as well. The girl who "helped" us out was rude the whole time. Nobody welcomed any of us when we walked in, when it was time to give our order she looked at us and said "what do you want" in the most annoyed voice you could imagine. The two guys in front of us walked out before they even began making the pizzas because of how rude all three employees were being. The 3 employees proceeded to laugh as they left, not so sure if management is going to think losing business over your crappy attitude is "funny" but ok. I thanked them even through the terrible service and never once did I get a "your welcome" or "thank you" in return. First off, the girl was in a horrible mood, didn't make eye contact, and when I asked for toppings she had the most sour look on her face. She was acting the like smartass the entire time. When I got to the register, the guy asked me if I wanted a drink and I said "No" and he gave me a drink anyway.... pause. these employees don't listen. All of the employees looked like they didn't want to be there. Now I'm not one to ask to be treated like royalty, but decent customer service is all I ask for.
