Great flavor of citrus, seared tuna, and the right ratio of crudo to wonton chips. My lunch guest got the crawfish hush puppies which weren't as great as the crudo- dry but came with an amazing gravy so definitely soak them up in that, but was lacking crawfish- had to search for them in each hush puppy- trust me, get the crudo. The catfish dish- wow- large serving I had to take home the leftovers. The crispy cornmeal was perfect, the sweet chili glaze wasn't spicy but more like a sweet and sour sauce which sounds odd with catfish but it works! So delicious. And that bed of mushroom risotto- creamy, and with plenty of mushroom pieces, no skimping there and we're not taking about teeny pieces and sparse mushroom in this risotto, good size pieces and plenty! Although it was lunch we also added dessert- the banana foster egg roll, crispy on the outside, great cinnamon flavor, a delicious buttery sauce, so you can pour on top as much to as you like and a soft, sweet, delicious banana filling. Perfect end to the meal on a sweet note. and then also had the black Aji tuna nachos so good lots of flavor some citrus to it. Mushroom risotto amazing. Service: impeccable. Everybody was super nice very helpful and the ambiance was like a sophisticated, relaxed atmosphere focused on comfort and unhurried conversation. This visit marks my second time here, and unfortunately, it has left me feeling extremely let down since it was close to the first experience. I arrived with my husband, a friend and her boyfriend, and another friend. Upon entering, we were greeted at the door only to be informed that it was last call. While the staff may have intended to be polite, it came across as a bit off-putting and unnecessary. We asked if we could take a cigar to go, to which they agreed after checking our IDs, and we went straight to the cigar lounge. As my husband and friend, both cigar enthusiasts, were showing our other friend around and helping him choose a cigar, a waiter entered flustered and inquired about our IDs once again. This felt unnecessary and unpleasant. Upon leaving the lounge and approaching the bar area, the same waiter who had asked for our IDs inquired if we wanted to be seated. This inconsistent felt like our group was being unfairly judged, and it led to an awkward moment, although they did assist us in lighting our cigars. In an attempt to keep calm and not let the experience affect me, I was distracted and unaware that my husband had already paid. The waiter who had requested our IDs then brought me the bill, which I paid without realizing. Upon informing my husband, we discovered the error, but the waiter initially tried to argue that it was not their mistake. I wished we had interacted with the gentleman with the beard from the start, as he was the one who initially seemed hesitant to let us in, but ultimately, he was the one to de-escalate the situation. We won't be coming back but I hope my feedback helps them cater to all demographics in the future. read more

Not just for Cigar Smokers!!! I have frequented Blend Bar practically since they opened. As a cigar bar in a second, none anywhere. The food and drinks are surprisingly excellent. I only say surprisingly because you don't expect to find such a good drinks and food at a cigar bar. In regards to smoke, the ventilation is excellent as I smoke cigars but somewhat sensitive to the smoke. My wife and her coworkers do not smoke cigars, but Blend Bar has one of the best patios in the Woodlands and they attend frequently for the drinks and food for happy hour. Todd, the manager, and Alex are especially fantastic. Extremely professional and a very warm and inviting host. There is a great group of regulars and the staff does an excellent job of making you feel welcome. When the concert crowds become overwhelming they do an incredible job of managing parking & seating to make sure that you can always find a place to park and receive great service. So long as you are anyone other than one of the concert goers trying to take advantage of the parking (they tend to get kind of nasty when there get caught not following the rules) you will come here and have a fantastic evening. Best food you will ever have. 6* food. The chef will make anything and do it better than even some of the other places around town (Advance notice helps). They have a phenomenal bar (1 of the only bars that are Great Bourbon Bars in the world) 70+ whiskies , 30 scotch's & a bunch of other spirits /wine & beer. You will not find a better bar to have a drink. Prices are very far. They have incredible selection & highly allocated spirits. The cigars are out of this world! If you fancy a high quality cigar, they have it all.. Davidoff , Avo, Fuente & more. They are the best cigar bar in the world right now!!! Events will be done right if you host here. They have incredible service. The staff is incredible. Todd Allen is incredible as a gm. Alex, Adam, Dan & Joel are fantastic Managers. I've visited Blend Bar with Davidoff in The Woodlands multiple times when I'm in the area for work, and I've always enjoyed their steak night special. Unfortunately, this recent visit fell short of my expectations. While the Grand Cru cigar and filet were outstanding as usual, the service left much to be desired. My waitress seemed uninterested from the start, repeatedly apologizing with excuses like, "I got stuck outside," only to later be found chatting with other staff members at the front. It was clear that attentive service wasn't a priority, at least not on this Tuesday night. This experience was unlike my previous visits, where the service matched the quality of the food and cigars. It's disappointing to say, but I'll likely skip this place the next time I'm in town. Which is a shame, I always look forward to coming here. read more

This has nothing to do with the food, as we never got that far in the course of my miserable experience at this location (not sure if it's a chain or not). Walked into a relatively quiet restaurant somewhat later in the evening after strolling a bit in the summer Houston heat around the Woodlands. A couple of people recommended Postino. The issue arose when I asked for a possible menu modification. Specifically, I was trying to avoid GOAT CHEESE on the meatball dish I had my eyes on (which otherwise looked pretty tempting). The server indicated that they probably couldn't do it but I nevertheless requested this... a couple of minutes later the server returned with the bad news. Apparently, it simply had to be served as-is, according to the menu. This in itself wouldn't have got me to the point of writing this review. However, I, incredulous, was kind of laughing (you have to laugh) and said something like "so I can only order exactly what's on the menu, and the kitchen can't do anything different?" (slight paraphrasing, perhaps). There wasn't much further conversation with the server but within about 30 seconds of this exchange, a "manager" stormed over to the table and borderline-abusively shouted "is there a problem?!". This "mini-manager" as I will refer to her, proceeded to inform me that they could NOT accommodate changes because it would "violate the integrity of the restaurant" ... I of course I also found a bit humorous, and in this state inquired further about what sense it made to be so obnoxiously strict for someone just trying to grab a quick bite about 30 minutes before closing. I'm sensitive to the work involved in running restaurants and serving obnoxious customers, but I was NOT rude, obnoxious, or difficult. Just blown away by this treatment. I was then informed by the mini-manager that she was from LONDON which I assume meant I should accept that her cosmopolitan background and (I assume vast and high-level culinary experience) meant that I should shut my trap and stop being so picky. At this point I was compelled to mention that I, too, grew up overseas and was very surprised at this complete lack of flexibility. Within another 30 seconds or so of this dialogue, the mini-manager tipped the menu over on the table and abruptly shouted, "you know what, I'm refusing you service!" That made it all easy from there as we promptly (while laughing, partly out of shock) exited the facility. Huge disappointment and embarrassing in my view for a restaurant that seems otherwise to have maintained a great reputation - and especially so for the fact that service (and people in general) in Houston tend to be kind and accommodating, not typically RUDE or reactionary. I'm encouraging this restaurant to have a look at the service model. I can't say I'll try Postino again the next time I'm in Houston, but I certainly hope it continues to truly earn its 4.5 star rating, 'cause they sure did NOT when I was there this weekend.

There was fun live music by the bar, but it would have been hard to have a conversation. For drinks I tried the Bahia Sangria and thought it was good, but nothing too special. I was surprised at how delicious and fresh the food was! We tried a smattering of dishes but the stand out was the coconut shrimp by far. I also really enjoyed the scallop sliders. The service was great and very attentive. I will definitely come back!

Went to Below Deck specifically to watch the game and ordered plenty of food while we were there --…read morethree orders of fish and chips, coconut shrimp, a PB&J burger, tots, fries, and onion rings. After spending that kind of money and settling in to watch the game, they turned the game off and changed the TV to something completely different because a regular wanted to watch something else. Apparently, being a paying customer isn't enough if you're not one of the regulars. It was incredibly disappointing to order that much food specifically so we could sit, eat, and enjoy the game, only to have it changed for someone else. Don't go here to watch a game unless you're a regular -- because apparently their preference matters more than your business. Needless to say, we won't be back.
