$1 Egg Tart Promotion
Allen L.

Sunmerry Bakery is a pretty well known bakery from Taiwan. I recently stopped in the Rowland Heights location after seeing a sign for $1 egg tarts. What a deal!

Kara L.

We pre-ordered a holiday cake online and had no issues with pickup. The cake was super cute and also not too sweet or dry. It was a strawberry cake. Parking: located in a plaza with parking spots available

I love their bread here! I also tried the Portuguese egg tart, but it was just average. I do appreciate that all the breads are individually wrapped, it makes everything feel clean and well organized. The staff were super friendly and even introduced some of their new items.

Limited 6pc egg tarts per customer. We have more than 1 person but they only let us buy 6pc the regular and 6pc napoleon....

I had a good experience in the good they baked. I was served with some hot out of the baking machine. I recommend trying h Napoleon Egg tart. The service is fast and easy to get in and out of. The place is clean and roomy for a big crowd. Try it you won't be disappointed.

Napoleon Custard Tart

Napoleon Custard Tart is the Best !!! Came Saturday morning, got 8 of these Beauties. Freshly made, crispiest butteriest flaky crust and custard perfectly done and not too sweet. I've been eating 2 per day for the last 3 days, can't wait for my last 2 tomorrow. Still crispitty crustily good as the first day. These are unique, never had them anywhere else. Also Had 2 Portuguese tarts from here, the crust does not even come close to these. They were good as Portuguese custard tarts go, but I just love these Napoleon Tarts.

I'm really sad to not have liked anything I got here. I've been to a variety of similar bakeries and always love them but overall, nothing had much flavor, if any. I ordered: * 2 piece Chocolate Cupcakes * Cream Puff * Rainbow Roll Slice The Cream Puff was a little dense and again, no flavor so was not tasty. Rainbow Roll Slice looked pretty. The cake was fluffy and light but also would break apart really easily. Like ingredients were off overall when being baked. No flavor either really. The Chocolate Cupcakes were moist and fluffy but no flavor here as well. I had this ordered and delivered so I can't speak on the location ambiance or guest service.

8 in Matcha Tiramisu

A smaller version of 85 degrees bakery imo Cute store with various pastries and breads What I looked them up for was their matcha tiramisu cake for a bday It was light, moist and matcha What was great is that with the purchase of $10 or $20 they had a wheel that I could spin I ended up winning a green tea drink with boba!

It's a cute bakery with plenty of goodies and bake goods. Went to the one in Taipei so it's not quite the same but it's still good and yummy. Nice service and the prices are not bad. It's hard when you went to the country's bakery and then in the US.

Drinks vary, sometimes I like them, sometimes I don't. But their pastries are always up to par! No line when I visit, so usually quick and fast pay and service. Very affordable for their breads and mochi donuts! They also have a huge variety of options from icebox treats to mochi donuts to bubble milk tea to fruit teas.

Mochi Black Sesame Bread ($2.70; top) and BBQ Pork Bolo ($3) cross sections
Megan L.

Great variety of pastries including pork sung / mochi buns, mochi / brioche donuts and other desserts. All coffee items currently half off! + BBQ Pork Bolo ($3): char siu was pinker and less of a dark red than I expected, also mushy rather than chunks. Taste was ok, not much crunchy topping (6/10) + Mochi Black Sesame Bread ($2.70): very fluffy and loaded with black sesame paste, with a thin layer of mochi! Not too sweet, yum (7.8/10) + Large Vietnamese Coffee ($3.99): no strong Vietnamese coffee taste, more like a creamy condensed milk (5/10) Range of pastries and prices amazing but was disappointed by the flavors.

Not worth it if they don't have any.
Victor C.

I came in for the $1 egg tart deal they're advertising, of course they are out of them but said they will be ready in 25 min. I prepaid for the egg tarts, so I can make sure I got them when the order was ready. Left for 45 min and returned to pick up the order and now they are saying they gave them all out and want to refund me. I said that is not acceptable and that I wasted time to wait for the order. Don't bother making the deal if you don't have them. Was offered a free drink or bread for the inconvenience but I'm still not happy.

Zhili L.

Worst customer service ever. I bought four boxes of Hokkaido cream cake (4 pieces in each box). The young woman at the counter packed all four boxes into one small bag, which was too full and difficult to carry. I politely asked for two more bags, but she refused. I spent $40 and even gave $2 tip, yet she still refused to give me extra bags. That's just ridiculous.

Their sweeter breakfast items are also huge portions and just so yummy. They do amazing dinners too, the salmon cakes are unbelievably good. They also host private dinners, which is actually what I did for my best friend's engagement dinner. Huge shoutout to the owner, Cat, who was so amazing to work with and made the whole night feel extra special. She was so patient with all my questions, made the planning process super easy, and even helped create a customized menu for our dinner. You can really tell how much care goes into this place.

Great food, front-of-house needs a bit of work…read more.. We made reservations for Mother's Day brunch a week ahead and thankfully we did as they had booked up at least 1 or 2 days before. Parking is super easy as it's in a plaza and shares a big lot with other businesses. They had a special menu, so I'm not too sure what is and is not part of their usual menu, but this is what we ordered: 1. Baltimore Crab Cakes (comes with 2): we were pleasantly surprised as it came with a side salad; the crab cakes themselves were not dry at all and came with a good amount of crab. Delicious, 5/5 2. Heirloom tomato and stone fruit salad: one of the things they pride themselves on is sourcing their ingredients locally and sustainably. You can really tell with this dish that all of their ingredients are really high-quality and fresh. The stonefruit was super sweet. The price ($18) was a bit high for the portion size, so this was a 4/5 for us. 3. Crab & tonnarelli: really good cook on the pasta; my husband is really picky on pasta that's overcooked, but this came to us perfectly al dente. There was a good amount of crab as well, so we appreciated that they didn't skimp. That said, the taste was a bit one-toned and underseasoned, which is a lot coming from us since we typically complain about food being too salty. If it came with a bit more salt, it would've been one of our favorites. 3.5 (maybe 4)/5 4. Pork sisig and garlic rice: we love sisig, so we had to order it. While it was super flavorful and delicious, we couldn't finish it on the spot since it was pretty salty and we were getting full. We did take it home and cook some more vegetables into it to dilute the salt a bit. 4/5 5. Ricotta cheese pancakes: super fluffy and airy, you can tell why they need 20 minutes to prep them. Again, the fruit they used was super fresh and sweet. Loved, no notes. 5/5 Service-wise, there were some hiccups with our orders. Our salad came to us without the burrata and when we asked them about it, it took about 3-4 people double-checking their menu to confirm it actually came with burrata, then a handful more minutes to rectify it. It seemed strange to me that they were unfamiliar with their own menu. Our pork sisig dish came out much later than every other dish and our waiter had to check up on it a few times, so it may have just gotten missed. There seemed to be a lot of people working in the front, but somehow hard to flag them down and get helped when we needed it. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt as it was Mother's Day and I'm sure it was busier than usual. Our waiter was also gracious in comping a drink as a result of the long wait for the sisig. Overall, we'll still come back as we want to try other dishes and we do appreciate the freshness of the ingredients and their integration of vegetables with dishes, which can sometimes be hard to come by. Just wanted to provide some feedback on service in hopes they'll take it constructively.

I am so glad we chose Hide Out Cafe in Rowland Heights to have our celebration. The food is delicious, the staff is so friendly, and the cafe is so cozy and welcoming. My brother was sponsoring our meal since he couldn't make it, so of course we had to go all out and order two drinks and two main dishes. (Thank you, big brother)! I got the Boba Bear Set $8.50, which comes with a drink and two house-made cookies, and my mom got their Tiramisu Latte $7.00, which is heavy on the coffee liquor, to be honest, but we had fun with it. The drinks are crafted beautifully, and with the open cafe concept, you can see they pay attention to the small details of their crafted drink menu. The house-made cookies that were a part of my Boba Bear Set are not to be forgotten. The cookies are buttery, decadent, and delicious; they are the perfect tea cookies to pair with! I can't wait to go back and try more of their fun drinks and maybe bring a study book the next time. For our main dishes, we shared the Chimi Wagyu & Frites $35.00, and the Fresh Avocado Toast $19.00. We both love eggs so of course we had to get something with eggs in our dish. My mom loved her avocado toast, and they were very generous with the avocado as well on there. The salad is a definite hit with us and included a great dressing on the side. The eggs were cooked perfectly on top of our toast and steak. The frites with my steak were crispy and seasoned well. I also loved the chimi sauce with my steak as well. The portion was huge so we were able to take some back home to enjoy another day. Overall, my mom and I had a great experience and would absolutely come back for another sip of their lattes and try another fun drink on their menu. We left with happy smiles and full stomachs, and can't wait to come back soon.

It's a brown sugar milk tea with caramel foam with a floating frozen milk tea bear. ADORABLE!! The set even includes two house-made cookies. WOW! TASTY!! (Important: Cash is not accepted. Bring card or contactless payment.) I arrived at Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) on Wednesday (around 10:21AM). Parking is very easy. The lot is big. However, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is very hidden. It has no visibility from the street! Staff is very professional and welcoming. Staff politely and cheerfully answered all my questions. Staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating. For example, the location does not have a paper menu; all the menus are accessed via QR Code. Fortunately, Staff let me borrow their iPad which allowed me to see the menu on a larger screen. When I'd arrived, Staff asked if I was dine-in or to-go. I was immediately seated. When I'd inquired about the boba. Staff honestly told me that they needed 15 additional minutes to prepare the boba. I brightly waited. All in all, after the 15 minute wait, the drink took an additional 10 minutes before being ready. As mentioned, I ordered the Boba Bear Set ($8.50). CUTE!!! It's a very aesthetic and memorable presentation. The boba pearls came perfect; they're bouncy, perky, and playful. The brown sugar milk tea mixed with the caramel foam tasted honey-like. It's very TASTY! My biggest nitpick is that the amount felt tiny. Still, it's a wonderful memory that I'm so happy to experience! On ambiance, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is comfortable and clean. There's about 13 interior tables, and there's six patio tables. The music is slow-tempo, and the tall ceiling made it feel spacious. In addition, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) has utility. There's customer internet with password; details are available on the QR code menu. There's also about four electrical outlets. I also appreciated the self-service water station. There's also a gender neutral restroom in the back. Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) felt very hidden yet well-maintained. It's a lovely spot. Overall, I had a magical, memorable experience. I discovered AMAZING milk tea and many precious memories. If searching for someplace special, I happily recommend. 4.9 out of 5
