Grabbed a glass of wine while I waited on my food and the bartender Amberlee was efficient and super sweet! My order came out faster than I could finish my wine (10 mins!)! It was raining so we did not have an option to try the patio but will definite try it when the weather is a little cooler and not raining. We were a party of three including our 11yo grandson who loves sushi. Our server was Thi she obviously knows the menu and was helpful in pointing out some of the specialities. We tried the seaweed salad, the shrimp tempura appetizer, salmon and tuna Nigiri sushi, salmon roe / ikura sushi, we also tried the Miki (rolls) spicy tuna, California and spicy salmon. All of the food was excellent, the fish was fresh and very well prepared, the seaweed salad had just the right amount sesame oil and the shrimp tempura was crispy but not over cooked. We have a number of high end (and pricy) sushi places in the area including several in Southlake, Keller and Grapevine, Blue Bear Sushi provides the same quality of fish and preparation as the fancy places at a more reasonable price. The decor wont compete with the high end places but you can't beat the sushi. We did not try any of the adult beverages but will look forward to that on our next visit and that will be very soon. Nice ambience! Great customer service, even better food. The quality of the fish was great. We started off with the Salmon Napple (salmon, apple, truffle oil) and Hamachi Yuzu Soy. Flavor for both were amazing. We then began ordering a variety of our go-to nigiri - hamachi, chu toro, sake toro, and madai. They were so fresh, every bite was heaven. We then decided to add on the staff recommended specials they had for the evening - uni and king salmon nigiri. I'm glad we did because they were spectacular. We wanted to scroll through the menu again to see if there was anything else we wanted to try and decided on the negi toro donburi. The dish came with the side of salad and miso soup, a very good portion! The nigiri we ate prior were SO good we couldn't help but to order ANOTHER portion to end the evening and the chef even kindly added on a pair of otoro nigiri as complementary. Every time we've ordered, the nigiri is always very fresh and the uni is very good. The lunch specials are okay, though I think they are a bit pricey. Overall, I've always had a great experience. This place is very close to my home, and I'm very happy to have it in the area. If you are in the neighborhood, I definitely recommend checking it out. It's a great place for takeout or a date night. So happy Bedford, close to me, has a great new sushi restaurant! All the fish tested fresh. I order the following sashimi: salmon, stripped bass, red snapper, flounder, squid and toro. All tastes amazing. The squid was rolled up with seaweed on the inside. We also got salmon n apple. Such a great flavor with the apple and the truffle oil was amazing!! The one roll we got was the shrimp tempura maki. He got the chicken teriyaki and he took off the mushrooms cause he is not a big fan. It comes with picked cucumbers and carrots with white rice. It also comes with salad and miso soup with green onion and tofu. The teriyaki sauce was sweet and flavor full. We asked for extra teriyaki sauce but we always do that cause we love teriyaki sauce. We order things out of order but also got the sweet potato fries!! So yummy asked for the toppings on the side. We ended with dessert, mochi Mango and strawberry. It was so good and flavorful.
