This is the best f-ing sushi restaurant/ bar in dfw. I would say Texas, maybe America. Staff and owner are the nicest coolest, most accommodating people on Earth. It feels like home here, and I haven't even mentioned the food yet... the freshest, the tastiest, melt in your mouth sushi. Soju, sake, good times. I would have to say that this is one of the best places to get sushi. The vibe was very welcoming and the staff were very friendly, feels like they have set a high standard for service because any time I needed something, they would be right there to assist. Finally tried this spot for lunch today. It's birthday celebration so we did it up. We were seated immediately and service was perfect throughout. Attentive without ever hovering. And our server gave us some great recommendations too. We sat at the bar. We had a mix of nigiri and rolls. They have the classics plus their own specials. Food came out pretty quickly and we loved everything we tried today. Chu toro, salmon apple, hamachi (?) something, tuna lover, & another tuna nigiri. Chu toro was topped with a fried micro green I think - texture & taste were such an amazing combo w the toro & truffle oil. The apple was bright and fresh with the richness of salmon. I cannot believe a sushi spot this good is in the 'burbs "down the street" from us. Please visit this spot. First time trying Bleu Bear Sushi this week and everything was top notch! The atmosphere in the restaurant is so relaxing and the service was impeccable. Nancy helped us navigate the extensive menu and made great recommendations. We came during happy hour and tried a lot of the sushi items from the happy hour menu. We started out with some cold appetizers of salmon n apple and hamachi yuzu soy, both of which were delicious! Then we ordered the wagyu gyoza and crispy chicken skin, and both of these you shouldn't miss out on! I can't believe how much I loved the flavor of the crispy chicken skin and the texture of the lacy crunch on the gyoza! Of course we had to try out some specialty nigiri and signature rolls after the appetizers and they did not disappoint. The Chu toro with fried micro greens was a hit at our table and we had to order another round! The spider maki Handroll was crunchy and had out of this world flavor. Squid spheres were great, most unique I've had, squid well cooked and fried. Fried salmon roll incredible crisp and flavor. Wagyu roll, I wish I could make ten orders of it. Today's grand opening did not disappoint, especially because it's my 3rd time here! (I've dined here 2 previous times during their soft opening.) If you want delightful staff & ambiance, delicious food with affordable price point, JUST GET HERE! We ate Al Fresca and enjoyed the beautiful evening while still receiving excellent service! This evening we started with the calamari, shrimp tempura and fried oysters. Quite frankly, these were the best fried oysters I've ever had. They were crisp, the texture was perfect and the accompanying sauce made it delectable! Then the salmon and apple roll came, and my tastebuds rejoiced! The micro cilantro was an amazing companion to it as well. And then the lamb chops...STOP IT. We ate in silence it was so delicious (See what I did there ) And the yuzu miso...STOP IT. Order the Spider maki, this roll will make you love soft shell crab. Of course you'll be spoiled, so you'll have to come back to eat it right. We wrapped up our meal with the salmon and seared salmon nigri, muah!! Overall, you have to just get here to this hidden gem. And it's worth driving at least 30 minutes so wherever you live...DO IT.
