I can honestly say, my first review was honest (possibly to a fault) but that's the beauty of a review. You get exactly what one is feeling in that actual moment. So fast forward to two years later... we're officially PNW'ers. We may not be here for a long time, but we're here for a good time. Took us time but we learned the magic of the PNW and the places to escape to and fall in love... and we've done so. Fortunately for us, Bleu Door has remained a faorite! We still frequent them at least monthly. Their food is good and consistent. Their prices are fair and their staff is always delightful! Funny story, my only new picture is of yet another benedict I ordered! HA! If in Vancouver, do yourself a favor and check out the Bleu Door. Don't forget to get a pastry. My partner absolutely lives for their pastries. I'm not much one for baked goods but the few bites I have taken were solid!!!

The food was fresh and delicious. Staffs were very friendly and welcoming. They offer outdoor seating which was great because we had our dog with us.

Bleu Door is a great bakery! The team is always super helpful. We got a cake for a party and it was baked beautifully. The frosting was the perfect sweetness and the cake itself was soft and fresh! Great food, great service!

Went for a weekday breakfast, and glad to learn that even in early morning, bakery, breakfast and lunch items were available plus weekly specials. Very warm and efficient staff. Vincent took great care of us. There were two of us and we couldn't decide between sweet or savory so we opted to share two dishes. We got the veggie hash, with chicken sausage, added, and scrambled eggs, which also came with green salad and a mini croissant. Additionally, we ordered one sourdough pancake. Everything was incredibly delicious. I loved that they offered locally made salsa/hot sauce (from Battle Ground) and had three different types. I went for the hatch chili salsa, which went magnificently on the scrambled eggs. They offered habanero and serrano varieties as well. Great coffee and delectable lattes. We did not get any sweets from the bakery side this time, but we'll have to come back another time for them. They looked glorious. Lovely, comfortable and clean.

While it has such potential for ambiance it gets lost in the slow attention to service and staff seeming 'stressed.' A Friday morning brunch alone. Took 15 minutes to get seated. Was greeted after I was seated but it took another 10 minutes to get my order which I had to emphasize I was ready for both food and beverage order. My Americano (pictured) came in this massive mug versus the smaller one and what used to be a sweet presentation. I ordered a basic classic breakfast. Sad that they deep-fry the potatoes even for a short amount which takes away from what could be amazing flavor of the bit of rosemary. Croissant was small and flaky not so much buttery. As a person who has traveled Europe many times just wish the cute ambiance translated to the table and service.

I usually always go to Portland for brunch but heard good things about this place and had the opportunity to try today! I loved the decor, it was decorated for Christmas and everything was so wintery and festive. They had a seasonal brunch food and beverage menu that all sounded so fun, but I tried the shrimp and grits and beignets! The food was very flavorful and Vincent, the server, was awesome!

My all time favorite shakshuka! And the most fluffy pillowy delicious beignets. Truly you can't go wrong here, and their Bloody Mary was also fab.

This is one of my favorite spots to bring friends and family when they come to visit. They have a wide variety of bakery options including gluten free and vegan. My go to is a coffee cake but you can't go wrong with anything in the case! Service was great. I am allergic to eggs so they were able to help me navigate the options. It's either a walk up space to grab and go, or you can go in and sit down. Hours are early so check before heading out!

Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this tiny bakery. Every single thing is completely handmade from scratch. They take a great pride in everything they produce. Also, every month has a different theme. We've tried their delicious goodies from the cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, and sweet, sticky buns to the cookies and hot cocoa balls. I can honestly say anything we have purchased has been delicious!! Laura makes amazing custom ordered cookies. They take her so long. I'm still amazed. She doesn't order more. Stacy creates custom order cakes. And I know they do customer requested catering; from grand openings to other special events and birthdays. Be aware there is no seating or eating in house here. It's definitely a pick up and go. There's plenty of parking and no steps getting in to the shop. You're truly cannot go wrong here. On Sundays when they have the cinnamon buns and sticky rolls, you definitely want to get there earlier! In my personal opinion, this is the best bakery in the Vancouver and Portland area.

This time, we arrived around 9A and were seated approximately 30 minutes later in the very well-heated patio area. Our server was welcoming and returned quickly for our drink order. I chose an oat-milk chai and was not disappointed. For a restaurant presented as a French bistro, I was surprised that there wasn't a single quiche on the menu. I almost ordered the BLT, but I wanted to try something different, so I chose the west coast salmon benedict with provençal potatoes and butternut squash. The hollandaise was tasty, but the benedict itself was mixed for me. It was served on a sliced croissant, which sounded appealing but wasn't sturdy enough for the toppings and quickly became soggy. Thankfully, I had removed the top half and eaten it separately. I was also expecting the thin slices of smoked salmon you might find on a bagel, but instead received a salmon fillet whose smoked flavor was barely noticeable -- perhaps the Hollandaise overwhelmed it. The butternut squash was delicious and outshined the potatoes by several miles. I wish I had asked for an entire side of squash bc some of the potatoes tasted stale, much like McDonald's fries that have been sitting around for a few hours. My daughter ordered the risotto cakes and eggs, which also made me question the "French bistro" identity, since risotto is Italian. SIL had the corned beef hash. Hubby ordered the chef's omelet with a side of bacon. And the grandbabies had pancakes, bacon, and eggs. My family makes it very obvious when food is delicious: lots of nodding, happy sighs, "You need to try this," or completely cleaned plates. Breakfast did not produce any of that. As our server was preparing to close out the tab, we asked for the dessert menu so we can sing happy birthday to one of our grandbabies. We ordered the Versailles cake and a pavlova. The Versailles was the definite winner. Suddenly, there were the yum sounds and the "You need to try this" comments. We all agreed that its light texture and coffee chocolate flavor were wonderfully similar to our beloved cappuccino mousse cake from Schubert's Bakery SF. It wasn't overly sweet, and the velvety dark-chocolate ganache was delicious. I enjoyed it so much that I went home and immediately searched for a Versailles cake recipe, only to discover that "Versailles" apparently isn't an established French dessert, but La Provence's name for its chocolate sponge layered with vanilla, coffee, and dark chocolate mousses. The pavlova was enjoyable, but it inspired nowhere near the enthusiasm of the Versailles. Between the polenta, risotto, pesto, burrata, mascarpone, tiramisu, avocado toast, corned beef hash, Benedicts, and conspicuous absence of quiche, I left wondering how much of the actual menu is French. There are certainly French ingredients, sauces, pastries, and techniques, but the overall experience felt more like a Pacific Northwest brunch café with French and Italian influences than a true French bistro. Would I return when visiting our daughter and her family? Not on my own accord. If the family chose it, I would definitely go, but I would adjust my expectations and not think of it as a French bistro, order an oat chai, request extra butternut squash, and save plenty of room for the Versailles.
