I ordered a Kentucky Hot Brown Sandwich, was terrible, and NOT prepared near as well as many other places in the Louisville area. Drinks were OK, how bad can a bottled beer be? The service was very slow, took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. The noise level was deafening, it is all open space and seemed hectic. My sister and I went to the Blind Squirrel for lunch. Although, they were busy. It was quite seem less. Our server Vicky was a pro. She greeted us and our glasses were always full. She was not only professional but she was always jubilant and a tentative. I ordered the pulled pork. It was tender as well as succulent. The barbecue sauce was tangy and it had the just the right amount of spices. My sister ordered the fish sandwich. It was big enough for her to cut up the ends and share it with me. I am not a tarter sauce gal. However, they have a 'secret tarter sauce'. It complimented the fish extremely well. The fries were amazing too. They were freshly cut. Okay 4 words: Mac and cheese burger. Who'd have thought adding something so simple could totally change a burger. It's amazing and if it weren't so fattening, we'd be getting this a lot more often. I had fish tacos here a few months ago as well but when I returned, it wasn't on the menu so could have been a seasonal thing, but they were also really tasty. We haven't dined in here during the pandemic, but it seems like it'd be a fun sports bar. We're looking forward to hanging out here when all of this is over. read more

The Blind Squirrel is a fun, casual spot for food, drinks, and games. The burgers and fries here are great. I've had a few different burgers, which never disappoint. The draught beer selection is pretty extensive with a few things for everyone, but it's also a full bar with great drinks all around. The coolest part of this place is the outdoor area. There's nowhere in Louisville quite like it. One section is ground level, where they frequently have musicians. This has convenient access to the bar, so you don't have to walk back inside. Upstairs is an area you can rent out with a group (we recently saw the Louisville football team go up there). Finally they have an amphitheater setup with 3 volleyball courts, where people meet and compete in leagues during warmer months. This is certainly a big draw and provides entertainment value for supporters and bystanders. Certainly would recommend this place on several levels! read more

Well I get it's a sports bar and bar food and you did have some healthy choices. I would like to see more. I ordered the Mediterranean wrap which was a special and it was crammed with black olives. Hardly any garbanzo beans and hardly any spinach. It could have been good without it being basically an olive sandwich. The blackened fish tacos that were ordered by another member of our party barely had any fish in it at all. Most people at our table just ordered a capris salad and that was it. The service was spectacular. The ambiance is fun. Maybe you could have a sides that grilled vegetables but not soaked in oil. I finally was able to try this place and absolutely loved it! When you walk in it's a rustic atmosphere. Much to my delight they have a Bloody Mary station with everything imaginable. I wasn't able to partake because of medication but I can tell you I'll be back to enjoy. For lunch I had Strawberry Salad and added salmon to it. It was fresh and tasty. Gave this place a try on a Tuesday night. I got to say I haven't had this good of a first impression of a restaurant in a long time. They had live music, big spacious rooms, nice Big TVs with sports on. They even had something unique in a cigar locker. I went with my wife and we shared a "street corn" appetizer that was amazing. I ordered the ky hot brown pizza. Now I'm a huge fan of hot browns and pizza. So I was excited to try this. And man was it awesome. Such great flavor and soft tasty crust and bread. My wife got the bbq pulled pork sandwich with a side of loaded potato salad. She said the pulled bbq was really good but was not a fan of the loaded potato salad. If you have read any of my previous reviews you know music drives my fun. We joined friends dinner and dance. Tonight was Soul Circus who is a great band. We arrived early to check out the surroundings. A huge place with so much to offer. Where to began? Restaurant/ sports bar/ live music/with outdoor games and sand courts for volleyball set in a amphitheater setting. So much to offer. As you enter dinning area with open air retractable windows to a deck A beautiful well crafted bar with appointed style of stone and the trend of barn wood. Clean facilities. Open patio Mecca with multi levels. Open bar which extends and joins as one outside, as air conditioning joins inside air ( guessing the A/C bill can get quite pricey ) No expense was saved. Many TV's abound. Family fun for which later in the evening turns into a spot adults dominate. Food is served at all seating of choice. Onto dinner. ten minute wait. Through out the night the staff was attentive to our needs. The menu offered pub grub of pizza and burgers. Our order of Mac n cheesy burgers and fries was cooked to perfection, meaty fries served sports bar style. Our friends pizza was said to be tasty. Priced reasonably. (: Side note. A few tweaks ate needing major attention. The acoustics were disappointing so much the sound annoyingly bounced around to the point it was to much to take.The vaunted ceiling and concrete floor became a cave of sound in the combination dinning/ evening dance space. This is not the kind of place we seek out but we have been traveling across the country and landed at the Squirrel after crossing 4 states. It was late and we were tired and hungry. The staff sat us without any hesitation at 10:00 pm. The place seemed empty except for a few locals at the bar (who probably needed to be anywhere else judging by their behavior). The waiter was polite, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was surprisingly good for the hour and circumstances. The interior, though not really my taste with the huge tv screens, was clean, contemporary and comfortable. If I had to get stuck looking for a late meal on a Sunday night, I'm glad I landed at The blind Squirrel. read more

Yesterday was my first time ever going to Blind Squirrel even though I have a good friend who goes often and has been trying to get me to visit for the last two years. Lol it's just so far from my house, I live downtown. However..... I'm so glad I went! I'm pretty big on experiences when I visit places because it will determine if I'm ever going back again. But I do plan on visiting again. I love the outdoor patio set up. We sat inside by the open windows which was nice as well. The staff was super friendly and all of our drinks came out so fast! Literally as soon as you ordered a drink, it seems like it was right out to you. We didn't eat much, Bc we had just had brunch but just wanted to drink some more. My friend Sylvia was in town from Ohio and we decided to check out Blind Squirrel on a Saturday night. There was a band playing and by the time we got there (around 9:30pm) the place was packed and we were starving. We couldn't find an open table to sit at, but we happened to snag 2 seats at the bar & im so glad we did. Our bartender, Emilee, was the absolute best and she completely made our night. In my experience, a lot of female bartenders tend to pay attention to only the men at the bar. Emilee did not. She was fast, made excellent drink recommendations, our drinks were delicious (not too strong, not too weak), she made sure we had silverware and everything else we needed BEFORE our food even came, and we didn't have to ask for a thing. She was fun to talk to, professional, and seemed to run circles around the other bartenders that night. We ordered the pulled pork nachos and they did not disappoint. Absolutely delicious with a spicy kick! The band was great, the atmosphere was fun, and the service was a superb. We will definitely return. read more

I enjoyed my lunch with some friends. They have really good fried fish and wings and buffalo strips. The fries were great and the curly potatoes were good. Onion rings I'd say were the biggest waste of money out of what we had. The cucumber salad would've been better had it not had so many onions in it. I love the atmosphere and the layout! I've been here a handful of times and have yet to have a bad meal or poor service. The food is well above average bar food and I can't complain. The burgers are pretty good - tonight we ordered the truffle burgers, bbq burgers, and beer cheese burgers. For my side, I ordered the side salad and I was surprised at how big it was. I enjoy the house made croutons too-nice and crunchy. Previously we have ordered and enjoyed the Buffalo chicken dip, nachos, chips/queso, and fish sandwich. We've also hosted a party upstairs before and all of the food was really good. Our favorite part about Blind Squirrel is the large outdoor patio that is dog friendly. Finally made a visit here after living here for about a year and half. It is safe to say that is now one of regulars. The drinks (buckets) are delicious, the food was perfect, and the dessert was amazing! Can't wait to go here a second time! Their Buffalo sauce on the chicken sandwich was really good. I came here on a Saturday night to see my dad's band play some funk music! I ended up having a lovely time. Despite the fact that the place was extremely busy, our waitress still provided us with great service and the food was excellent! I ended up ordering a double shot of Jim Beam and coke and they fixed it up nice and strong for me! I also had a sweet tea, which is pretty good. As for food, I ordered potato skins and pulled pork nachos for the table. For myself, I ordered a chicken salad wrap and twister fries with a side of ranch. The nachos were awesome. They had pulled pork (of course), pico de Gallo, cheese, and jalapeños. The potato skins were pretty basic but were served with a really delicious spicy sour cream sauce. The chicken salad wrap had celery, cranberry, and pecan and was served in a spinach wrap. It also came with a hard boiled egg wrapped in bacon and impaled on a toothpick. Everything was delicious! I frequent Blind Squirrel once or twice a month. Food is always great, never have trouble getting a table, ambiance is fun. There are 1 million TVs if you're looking to watch a game & they also have live music some evenings. Service can be a touch slow sometimes but the place is huge and it's understandable. The patio is so nice when the weather is good. They have volleyball courts out back which isn't something I partake in but it's fun to watch. Sometimes getting in/out of the parking lot can be a pain but not much can be done about that. read more

We've been here a few times and we always have a great time. It's right down the road from the Walmart/Target shopping center area. Last night we arrived around 7:45 with a party of 11. We were told 2+ hour wait. That's pretty typical for a Saturday, especially when a popular band is playing. Sometimes we end up getting a table quickly... sometimes we never get a table and end up chilling in the chairs on the patio. Last night we did the latter. Luckily we had a great server who let us order food and drinks. He took great care of us! I can't remember his name... but he was a younger guy with braces. He was on the ball all night. As far as the food... I'm a fan. Their pimento cheese burger is one of my favorite cheeseburgers on the planet. It's the best damn thing ever. We also had the nacho app and it was equally delicious. I've loved everything we've ever eaten. Last night I was a little inebriated so I totally failed the Yelp Gods and didn't take a single picture of my food.
