I LOVE TINA!! That sounds weird to type because we have the same name LOL. But forreal, she's super awesome and sweet and I'm in LOVE with how my hair turned out. I showed her a pic of ashy brown/beige hair and she said that mine might not turn out exactly like the pic since everyone's hair is different, but it still turned out amazing regardless! Just bring a book since my session was quite long-I came around 8:30 and left at 5ish! Honestly the worst experience of my life . I went in Nov 7th around 4PM. There was just one lady working, there was no line and body inside, I even called ahead and asked if she had time for me . I asked her for just a trim and even showed her about an inch that I wanted off, she kept saying my hair was very thick so I asked if she could work with it and she said yes.. I lost my hair three years ago and have been taking good care of it since it began to grow (pictured, green shirt) in October is was up to my waist and looking and feeling so healthy . (Pictured). She COMPLETELY butchered my hair and thinned it out when I didn't ask her to do that, she said it because my hair is thick but again, I DIDNT ASK HER TO DO THAT. If she couldn't work with thick hair she should have said that when I asked her . Not only did she cut 6+ inches off my hair but it's also super choppy (pictured blue shirt) To fix it I have to just get a straight shoulder length haircut after I've done everything to grow it out these past three years. My heart is completely broken, I couldn't even say anything to her then because I was trying so hard not to sob and yell at her because I knew there was nothing I could even do after that. I know it may seem silly but after loosing my hair and being bald for years, finally growing it out and feeling pretty again meant everything to me, I couldn't even say anything with the big ass knott in my throat. I just walked in to this salon at 3:35pm told a lady that I just wanted bangs for my five year old daughter and she had a hard time figuring out what to tell me. She then suddenly said they're closed while styling another lady's hair. Then suddenly told me to wait after I started to look online to confirm I wasn't crazy for think they were open. Full disclosure...I went in no idea if I am going to regret this desicion. I have been growing my hair for the past 3 years and hate going for cuts because most places take off like 3 inches. Lol I went in for a lot of layers to give my hair some volume and movement without losing the length. To my surprise...Helen did an amazing job at this. She REALLY took her time and gave me a BUNCH of layers that framed my face without sacrificing the length. (This was exactly what I had showed her I wanted and she delivered. Thank you The price was very decent since there is hair wash and straighten afterwards. I was a very nervous about the number of times she ran the straighten through my hair....but my hair does not smell burnt and feels healthy so I won't complain. I made an appointment because of the high rating and came out with disappointment. I dont think i will go back again. I feel bad that i brought my best friend along to this due our favorite salon has yet to resume the services....Below are for your reference. :( 1. The location is not pinned correctly on yelp and Google map. I had to stop on a roadside and called for where is it closeby 2. Parking is limited around the building but there are some parking spots across the building 3. I requested trim for an inch which my hair is at waist length and the stylist definitely chopped more than an inch. When she blew dry my hair, it was kinda rough, I can feel lots of hair got pulled out from it. I got charged for $45 before tips. 4. My friend was there (in fact I recommend her this for yelp high rating) for a hair dye and hair cut. She requested for dark brown which I was there as well and it came out all black, we can't see anywhere that is dark brown. This is the first person I have ever been to to get my hair colored and she is going to be the only person that touches my hair! I love the one on one sessions you get because it's more personal. This is a long time coming review, for my main woman, HELEN HUONG. Get her number, hang on to her, treat her good, and don't ever ever let her go. I have been going to Helen for 10 years (minus a 1-2 year hiatus where she moved salons and I lost her :[ ). For 10 years, I've been getting haircuts from this woman. I have followed her to 3 different salons she's worked at and I've even gotten a haircut at her house (we tight yo). Randomly walking into a salon, in need of the first available stylist for my first semi-formal dance, I encountered her with a bomb ass bob and from there it was everlasting love. Even when she moved salons, we were eventually reunited by pure chance. IT'S MEANT TO BE. I used to literally drive 1.5 hrs back from college to get a haircut from her. She knows the general hairstyle I like, and she'll change it up every once in awhile. She also knows what haircuts are feasible for your hair type and what will look good for your given length and face shape. SHE JUST KNOWS. She usually does wet haircuts, which is probably why she charges a bit more, BUT when she washes your hair, my god, is it relaxing. It's like a mini scalp massage and she actually rinses and repeats. She takes her time and does a good job, I've had haircuts from 1 to 2 hrs even, and on multiple occasions I was so comfortable, I'd start falling asleep. For a girl haircut with medium length hair, to get a layered haircut trim with side bangs, it'll cost me about $23-25. Besides the salon number, you can always ask her for her business card. She doesn't work Tuesdays and don't forget to tip! I'm dreading the day she stops cutting hair. read more

Ask for Helen- she's a hair magician! She will do wonders to your hair! I have been to many, MANY hair stylists, but she's one of the few who will take the time and effort to make sure your hair looks healthy and beautiful! I came in for a much needed haircut yesterday; I asked for long layers angling outward. She made it happen AND removed all the icky split ends and dry parts of my hair. I'm surpised she didn't chop off all my hair; she was pretty true to her words when she said would only chop off 2 inches. Plus my hair was rather fried and dry, so I'm satisfied with what she did. Feels good to get all that "dead" weight off my shoulder. LOVEEEE ITTT! They charge $20 for long hair and $15 for short hair. Definitely not bad at all for the good work put in. Be on time if you schedule an appointment because they will start on someone else if you come late. And the wait can be long because she is so detail- oriented with her work. Parking can be a B if you come in later in the day. You can certainly find parking if you come in early though. I came in at 9:30ish and there were parking spots available. read more

I was very lucky to be referred to Tina by a client of mine. Let me start by saying that prior to meeting Tina, I've gone through a few colorists and none of them could really deliver the color that I asked for. When I reached out to Tina for an appointment, she was very responsive and accommodating. At the appointment, Tina took the time trying to understand what is it that I'm trying to achieve with my hair. She also showed me photos of her previous clients' hair as examples of different ash tones, blondes, etc. During the session, she would explain to me ways to take care of my hair as well as maintaining the color. Tina is amazing and words can't explain how professional and sweet she is. I came in with dry crispy damaged hair from global bleach, done by another person (not at this salon). I lost all hope in my hair. I just wanted to cut my hair off and let it grow. I made an appointment with Tina through text and when I came in she looked at me hair and gave me a free olaplex treatment that supposed to cost $30. I thought that was super sweet of her to do. I've had already spent so much on my hair at another place so all I wanted was just a haircut. I honestly didn't think my hair would ever feel this soft again.. I was so in shock and happy about the cut and the hair treatment!! Im the type of person to never cut my hair because I love the long look but she gave me the perfect cut and told me the more hair I cut the better it'll feel. This is the worst she's seen anyone with damaged hair. It's definitely short but still looks long!! My favorite thing about her and this salon is that she didn't push me to get anything done which makes me want to come back. I'm definitely coming back for another hair treatment in three weeks. She was so positive and ensured me that even though I don't have the color I want I'm still beautiful and to not stress about my hair. I was shopping at East Ridge Mall, inside of an entirely different store, when someone named Vivian from New Saigon Beauty Salon came up to me and started hard core soliciting for my business. She was very pushy and insisted I take her card, which I accepted hoping it would make her go away, then she continued pestering me. She was waving her finger around at my head and pointing at my hair, saying she could give me a nice haircut (which quite frankly scared me a bit). Eventually I literally turned and ran away because I could find no other way to end the encounter. I would discourage anyone from doing business with this place because of it's very rude, pushy, and downright unethical solicitation tactics. read more
