Their VTM (Vietnamese ice coffee) was strong but the flavor is a little weird. They added some of their house cream in addition to the condensed milk, thus gave it their own spin. Came here on my lunch break since I work a few doors down. I got a Carmel macchiato hot and avocado toast. I'm really picky when it comes to coffee so when I tell you it's bomb not to strong not to sweet it's the perfect ratio. The avocado toast was massive compared to other places and it had really good flavor! The lady taking my order was so nice! The service was extremely fast! One of my go-to coffee shops! I love the VTM series, especially the Dulce and Matcha ones. The Vietnamese coffee is good balance of bitter and sweet. The only food I'd recommend is the avocado toast. It has cherry tomatoes on top of avocados that always taste fresh. They also sprinkle some flaky salt and pepper. The bread is also crunchy around the crust and fluffy inside. There's usually a line most of the time, but it moves pretty quickly. There's no space to sit inside, and standing room inside is pretty limited. But it's at the Spectrum, so it doesn't matter much anyways. read more

Came here for the first time after a work meeting. I had the breakfast bowl, which was quite tasty, but too much sour cream. Gal at front was friendly. I also had the Thai iced tea, very delicious. It hit the spot on this humid morning. They have nice cushioned shaded seating if you walk a few doors down. It was pricey for a small portion, 20 bucks. I guess that's the cost at the Spectrum. The Vietnamese Matcha Coffee is really good. That's literally all I ever order here anymore. They have the right ratio of matcha to coffee in my opinion. It's a little sweet and the drink is nice and thick. It hits the spot when I'm needing an energy boost. I like both the hot and cold versions. Sometimes I'll try their seasonal drinks, but I always go back the the VTM. I also really like their avocado bagel with lemon pepper seasoning. I don't know what brand or ratio of seasonings they use, but it's so good! This location doesn't have a lot of indoor seating, just a little bar area to the side. There's more seating outside, but not a whole lot. It's okay though! I usually just grab a drink and wander around window shopping. read more

The service is quick, their coffee is unique, and their prices are way up there so be prepped to dig into your wallet. I had the VTM iced latte; it's one of their top choices on the coffee side. This isn't the place to do quiet studying inside or any long coffee dates, the ambiance isn't set for that- it's a grab and go situation. This is a super cute place. A great place to stop for coffee during shopping time and also a great place to study (though they have very limited seating). I came here on a Tuesday afternoon and there was no line and seating with tables available. They're dog friendly too so I was able to bring my dog inside and sit outside. They also have wifi! I ordered the VTMatcha. This was strong! It has a bold matcha flavor and a bold Vietnamese coffee flavor. I'm definitely down to order it again. They also have a wide selection of food and different drinks. They're open pretty late too compared to the other locations but I would only come to this one if I was in spectrum. A little pricey but overall solid coffee~ BLK dot coffee is located inside spectrum near target and Apple Store. The shop is small with seating available outside. They specialize in Vietnamese style coffee but they have regular lattes and matcha. I got the regular size latte with almond milk with sugar free caramel ($6.40) and my BF got the same thing but with oat milk. The almond milk was creamy and had a good sweetness from the caramel. My BF said his oat milk wasn't the best he's had. Overall great place to stop by inside spectrum for a coffee fix. Would love to try the matcha or viet coffee my next visit~ read more

I come here EVERY time I am at the Spectrum. I always order the Mango Delight Green Tea with 25% sweetness. The service has always been fast despite it always being crowded. The ambiance is modern and clean. I wish they did stamp cards! Something to note about their drinks. If you order no ice, they will not fill to the top. I have done this many times as a take home and add ice later. The Dulce VTM is also super good. My boyfriend craves it ALL the time. I would say my least favorite of the drinks I've ordered from here is the Uji Matcha. It's just nothing noteworthy in comparison to the Dulce and Mango iced drinks. cute, trendy coffee shop at irvine spectrum! i've been to blk dot before, but it's been a while. i also wanted to try a drink that i've never tried before. i know it seems self explanatory, but i asked the cashier the difference between VTM and LVTM. they said it's "less concentrated with less caffeine". they also said it tasted lighter and less strong. it was almost evening when i went, so i ordered an Iced LVTMatcha with soy milk (extra $1 charge). my total came out of be $7.55 for a regular size. the drink was visually appealing, but the flavor was nothing spectacular. i usually gulp down my coffee, but it took me forever to finish this one. it tasted mostly milky with just a hint of coffee. the matcha flavor barely popped out as well. i would personally choose other coffee shops over this one, especially for the price. read more

Quality, hand-crafted drinks at their finest. I've been seeing this place all over Instagram and I'm so happy I finally got to try it for myself! I ordered the Iced VTMatcha and the two flavors together were a very interesting combination. I definitely tasted the VTM but the matcha would sneak itself in almost as an aftertaste after every sip. I'm a big fan of the fact that they use high-grade culinary matcha because I can taste the authenticity of it, nothing fake for sure. I love BLK Dot Coffee and always get my drinks at the Crystal Cove branch -- their matcha latte is perfect every time! But I've tried the Spectrum location three times now, and each time the drink has been bad. The ratio of matcha to milk is off, making it bitter instead of smooth, and the team seems unfocused, even making order mistakes. Management should really retrain this team to match Crystal Cove's standards. read more

I was at the Spectrum looking for Starbucks when I stumbled upon this place first instead. There were plenty of people standing outside waiting for their drinks so I figured this place must be good. It's a bit loud inside but the workers are super friendly and attentive. I have only tried their Iced Caramel Macchiato here but it was so good that I came back again the next day for another one. This drink tastes pretty nutty and you can really taste the quality of the coffee as it wasn't overpowered by the milk or caramel. The level of sweetness for this drink was perfect. It's located by the Apple Store at the Spectrum and they don't have much seating outside so I'd just recommend to sit elsewhere if you're looking to chill. Their menu was bigger than I had expected! Lots of drink options to choose from from coffees, milkteas, fraps and tea. They even had some season drinks loke peppermint and pumpkin spice! Although I don't mnow if those are permanently there. I ended up with their original vietnamese coffee and whew it is SWEET! As expected feom vietnamese coffee but I don't know why it still surprised me. Coffee is strong abd I do feel once the ice melts more the taste is better. But for your first few sips the condensed milk really hits. My friends got their matcha coffee frapp and the matcha was strong and nice! Although I personally did not taste the coffee, I could only taste the matcha. I want to try their black vietnamese coffee next time I go since the worker mentioned it's s less creamier version but it is lightly sweetened. If you love the rich vietnamese coffee I recommend getting the original. If not, maybe try their other options! Price is a bit steep for coffee but it's worth a try. read more

Blkdot is my favorite place to get hot chocolate in these cold days, is rich and chocolatey without being bitter or artificial tasting. This blkdot is located at the Irvine Spectrum and is open much later than other blkdot locations in the area. The staff are always friendly and offer great suggestions and the place is very clean, although the front patio often gets littered pretty quickly from people leaving straw wrappers and such. When it's warm or I love to get the push lychee tea! It's so delicious! PRO TIP: Order their tea without chia seeds, they aren't soaked before hand so they tend to be a little crunchy, but without it they are so good. Me and my granddaughter noticed that the people who had ordered after and wayyyy after us had received their drinks before us. Then, after around 15-20 minutes, we received our water, 15+ minutes for water????? Then suddenly more and more people after us began to receive their drinks. Finally, one smart worker out of the several incompetent ones asked us if we were waiting for something at least thirty minutes after ordering. Our matchas had not even been made yet!!!! And then when we received the drinks my matcha was okay but my granddaughters matcha tasted like milk. It was like literal milk with green food coloring, not okay. Love the menu options! Prices are a bit high though. The $1 sub for almond milk is steep. VT Matcha was one of the more unique drinks I've tried in a while! It's about 1/4 Vietnamese coffee and 3/4 matcha. It's such a nice treat/ pick me up! You can taste both coffee and matcha which is rare since most places can't get these combos right but somehow BLK Dot does it perfectly! I got my matcha unsweetened since the coffee sweetens the drink up. Still a bit too sweet for me but definitely nice as an afternoon dessert type of thing. Another good dessert type of coffee is the VT tiger coffee! My bf got this..it's brown sugar viet coffee with black jelly in it. Super sweet but man this was good.
