    Stir fried cabbage - tasty
    Han W.

Very pretty restaurant with solid food options. The presentation of the food is very good as well. The peking duck is the main feature. It was presented well and priced similar to other restaurants in the area ($48 for a half duck). It was pretty tasty. The cantaloupe sticks were an interesting inclusion but went well with it. I wish the skin was a little bit crispier. The cabbage was really good but pricey at $18 for what it was.

We recently visited this restaurant specifically for the Peking duck and unfortunately, came away with mixed feelings. On the positive side, the restaurant is attractive, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the overall service was very good. The pricing felt reasonable for the quality of the restaurant, though perhaps a little on the higher side. We enjoyed the atmosphere and appreciated how well we were treated throughout the meal. Unfortunately, the Peking duck itself was disappointing. When it arrived at the table, it looked beautiful...golden brown with the "appearance" of crisp, perfectly rendered skin. However, the experience didn't match the presentation at all! . The skin was soft and chewy rather than crisp, and it was extremely and discustingly oily. Simply picking up a piece left my fingers coated in grease, and squeezing even a small piece of skin caused oil to drip out. Again, the duck appeared crispy, but it certainly didn't eat that way. One thing that stood out was how quickly the duck arrived after we ordered, about five minutes. While I certainly appreciate prompt service, that timing struck me as unusually fast for a signature dish like Peking duck. Combined with the condition of the skin, it made me wonder whether the duck had been sitting for some time before being served. That's what made the experience particularly disappointing. Proper Peking duck is famous for its thin, crisp skin and rich flavor, and based on the appearance, it looked like it was going to deliver exactly that. Unfortunately, the texture and excessive grease overwhelmed what should have been the highlight of the meal. I want to emphasize that this isn't a criticism of the restaurant as a whole. The service was excellent, the restaurant itself is very nice, and we enjoyed the overall dining experience. If the duck had been served with truly crisp, properly rendered skin, this review would likely have been very different. I'd be willing to return and try other dishes, but based on this visit, the Peking duck did not live up to expectations.

Bets on how long Bloom & Vine's "grand opening" sign will be up for?! IFYKYK. One of the Chinese restos near me has had their "grand opening" sign up since before the pandemic. The sign is crusty and dusty but they're still here so that says a lot. (Leaving the grand opening sign up is a symbol of good fortune and prosperity.) Bloom & Vine is the third resto to open in this space in three years. Despite the name, no flowers for sale here. I heard this was supposed to be the third NorCal location of LA's MIAN but the owner decided to pivot to a new concept specializing in Beijing Peking Duck. Indoor and outdoor seating available. We called for rezzies but they're now available on Yelp. While making rezzies, they suggested that we put a duck on hold. M E N U Beyond their signature Peking duck, they describe their cuisine as Modern Asian Fusion. IMO, that label doesn't quite fit - the dishes leaned traditional with a range of regional Chinese cuisines including Sichuan, Canto, Shanghainese, and Jiangsu. Craft cocktail program with AZN inspired cocktails. We happen to come on a day that ALL drinks were 50% off! Whoooo hooo! Personally, I prefer a brighter hit of vinegar and stronger heat. * Peking Duck 北京烤鸭 w/ pancakes, fixings (Half-$48): https://tinyurl.com/yrzkb6xd - 30-45 minutes prep Star of the night! The peking duck's glossy skin was crispy and well-rendered while the meat was tender and nicely gamey. Cantaloupe for a deliciously savory and sweet flavor contrast. ** Add ons: https://tinyurl.com/j4x6f42m Usually restos use the leftover duck carcass to make a soup or stir-fry dish that's included with the peking duck. It's a add-on here. - Tofu & Cabbage Duck Bone Soup 豆腐白菜鸭汤 (+$12) Clean, light broth with soft tofu, tender napa cabbage, and goji berries for a hint of sweetness. I wish it had been simmered longer with the bones to develop a richer, more milky consistency. - Salt & Pepper Crispy Duck Bone 椒盐鸭架 (+$12) The duck bones were stir-fried with aromatics and seasoned with what tasted like five-spice for that Canto roast duck flavor. If you enjoy nibbling on the meat, skin, and connective tissue off the bones....this will be your jam. S E R V I C E Very kind and welcoming service from owner and staff. They're obvs they're trying to figure things out tho. Food came out promptly on a Saturday evening. A M B I A N C E Spacious, modern, and chic with indoor/outdoor feels, a large bar, and several TVs with the world cup on. Very IG friendly if that's what you're looking for. Lovely outdoor patio that's closed off to cars but it's right near Caltrains so you can hear the horns and trains passing by. Overall, solid opening with the peking duck being the must order item. The extra plus is the having a cocktail program which is rare for a Chinese resto. I'd love to see them eventually bring more modern, creative twists to their regional Chinese dishes to better align with the concept.

New spot in town! We stopped by Bloom and Vine around noon on a Friday, and it was still pretty quiet. We ordered the xiao long bao, chili wontons, and dry pot stir-fried organic cauliflower. Overall, the flavors were quite good, and everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. The main downside was the wait. It took over 30 minutes for all of our dishes to arrive, and they came out one by one instead of together.

Such a delicious meal, with a beautiful setting! Definitely a great addition to Castro Street. This is an elevated dining experience, with gorgeous decor and plenty of natural light. The service was speedy and efficient. All the dishes I tried were delicious and clearly done well. My absolute favorite was the Chongqing chili chicken - it had great flavor and was perfectly spicy. I really enjoyed the fried rice as well. It had that signature wok-fried flavor. The honey walnut shrimp was probably the best I've ever had. It had a delicious glaze, and the shrimp itself was super juicy. The Peking duck was phenomenal. The slices were super tender, with a crispy skin. It paired well with refreshing side vegetables. The menu is expansive, with plenty of amazing options. I can't wait for my next visit!

We dined here at 6 PM on a Friday night, walked in without a reservation but still luckily got a table right away. This restaurant is absolutely beautiful and has a perfect date-night atmosphere and setting. I had a very great experience here and couldn't wait to share!!!!!! What we ordered: Cocktails: Lotus Frequency and Matcha Silk. The Matcha Silk was definitely prettier, but the Lotus Frequency was my favorite in terms of taste. Both were excellent. Crab Roe Soup Dumplings: These were amazing. They arrived hot but burned my mouth (thanks god), and their flavors were on another level. I've had xiao long bao at many restaurants around the Bay Area, but these here truly stood out. You have to try them! Half Peking Duck: The besttttttt! In many other restaurants, you have to order even 1 day in advance, but here you can simply walk in and order Peking duck. It took only 20 minutes for my food to arrive, which just perfectly timed since we were finishing the soup dumplings by that time. The duck was exactly what I was hoping for. At $48 for a half duck, it's reasonably priced and enough for two people. The skin was crispy, the meat was tender and juicy, and the sauce tied everything together. It was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating. I also loved the service. Everyone was friendly and made us feel very well taken care of throughout the meal. Highly recommend this place, and I'll definitely be coming back next time with my mom!

Tried out the new Bloom & Vine for lunch today and loved it. Their lunch specials offer amazing value. The lunch special comes with ur main dish plus a soup or soda at ur choice. We got the Hainan chicken plate and a two-meat combo with BBQ pork and roast duck. We ordered Hainan chicken plate and Two Choice roast meat rice plate. The Hainan chicken was tender and packed with flavor, and both roast meats were absolutely delicious. BBQ pork ( char siu ) and roast duck. Generous portions, great prices, and a lovely and atmosphere. The interior is a refreshing departure from traditional Chinese restaurant decor. I'm planning to go back with different groups of friends already. service was attentive. our server Allen was very friendly and helpful. Definitely a great addition to Mountain View's dining scene.

The first two times I visited, it was delicious, however, their sfodd quality is dropping. Their Chongqing chili chicken is different from their picture. They did shortcut by adding flour to the chicken. Not authentic and not tasty. Their string beans were also undercooked.

This place has amazing food and a lovely environment. I'm so glad I've came here

I ordered the savvy spritz wine cooler and my friend ordered the cherry lavender rose. I loved that the spritz wasn't too artificial tasting since a lot of places tend to be. I wish it would've been a little stronger but I get that it's more of a fun cocktail wine that's meant to be light. The food here was insane. We ordered the Margherita flatbread and while it's simple the quality was great and the cheese was super good and had a nice pull. The vibe here is great it feels very safe having mostly had women patrons. The music was nice and definitely gave it a special vibe that you don't get just anywhere, there was a lot of Prince going on and Stevie Nicks ( I love). I'll definitely be back soon! Also the owner was super friendly and seemed like he was happy to be there.

For the main dish, I got the Penne con Pollo. The dish was a bit bland in my opinion and was not really memorable. My dish was one of the last ones to come out and before it came out, a server had come around with a bowl of parmesan, offering it to those who already got my order. However, since I got my dish after, I never got the chance to ask for parmesan. For dessert, I got a slice of tiramisu, which I also thought was okay. There was uneven amounts of lady fingers (took a photo of the better side but the opposite side was mainly just cream). Probably could use a bit more dusting of cocoa powder as well. I did feel that the service felt a bit rushed and disorganized (such as forgotten utensils), though it may have been a one off day.
