    Deluxe Chirashi Bowl
    Jim P.

Large open dining area with an open view of kitchen, no sushi bar. Decor is minimalist Asian street food vibe. No alcohol sales on-site, uncertain about BYOB. I ordered the Deluxe Chirashi Bowl and a side order of O-toro and Hotate sashimi. Side salad was wilted but the miso soup was hot and satisfying. All fish was fresh and presented with extravagant decorations of sticks, banana leaves and a sushi mat. All of this extra stuff in the bowl seemed overkill to me and detracted from the quality and presentation of the sashimi. Staff was elusive, despite there only being 3 parties in the dining room. I sat looking at empty plates and glasses too often. Overall $$$ to experience was average. Cheers!

No. 1 Combo, Omakase 12pcs Nigiri

Stumbled upon Oh Baby while on my quest to try all the sushi takeout in the Bay Area. The location was hidden away and a little random, but the inside of the store was bustling with tables even on a weekday. We tried both sushi combos (NO1 combo and 12pc omakase) and felt like it was a super decent option for takeout, just not an all time favorite. I did enjoy that they didn't skimp on garnishes for the nigiri, even for takeout. It helped add to the experience of omakase at home! All in all I would revisit, although it wouldn't be my first choice for takeout.

Chain sushi place. We came to the Sunnyvale location. Small parking lot near Google. Easy to find parking and no wait for a Saturday evening around 6pm. Decor is clean and modern. Basic seating. We ordered 3 rolls and an udon for our toddler. They have a lot of rolls/fresh fish but not too many other food items. We noticed most families ended up ordering the udon. Food came out quick. The rolls were presented nicely and not overly saucy which we appreciated. They gave a good portion of fish. The udon was very basic but the kiddo enjoyed it. We would return.

Shockingly ive been to 3 of these "oh baby" sushi places (daly city, redwood and this one) first off the fish is extremely fresh and tasted sooo good. Wide selection of choices of fish and non fish items. The service here was impeccable, and I came very late at 7:30 and they close at 8 but still got great service, very attentive. I would 100% come back to any of there locations

The fish is very fresh and tasty but the service here is very bad. I usually don't complain about the service, but it was really disappointing. Here it took a long time to even get a menu and when I said that I was allergic to sesame seeds there were still sesame seeds in the food when we spoke to the women worker, she kind of just brushed it off, but the other guy helped us out.

Packed on Saturday night. This is my second time here. I came here about a year ago and got the omakase set. I remember it being a great deal for what you get. This time we were less hungry and opted to try some rolls. 49ers - 5/5 solid. This is my go to roll and I love how they cut off the skin for the lemon slices! Great take. Ferrari- 5/5 the sauce flavors are great and they add crab salad and seaweed salad on the side it was a great portion Uni nigiri - 4/5 I love uni I think the crispy leaf fried was too much and I would have gone without it. Watermelon juice - must get!! Fresh squeezed very refreshing. Service was immaculate the waitress checked in often and was very apologetic for the "wait" but it didn't even take long. It's a great sushi place that's cozy casual.

Spacious spot near Google offices. Interior is clean and well lit, and didn't have to wait on a Saturday night despite it being pretty busy the whole time we were there. Service is great too! Food wasn't too good (see below), especially for the prices we paid. Side of miso soup and salad might've been the best part. FOOD: Deluxe Chirashi Bowl (6/10): Scallop, uni, and amaebi started off strong. All the other pieces were slightly seared (sign of less fresh fish, especially in chirashi) and tasted not too fresh as well. 49ers Roll (4/10): Lemon was overly strong. No fish in the middle of the roll. Salmon was also not fresh at all.

I didn't know about this sushi place that was so close to me until a couple weeks ago. Came here on a Sunday evening, wasn't too busy, we were able to get seated right away. The place is kind of ticked in a corner across the street from some businesses. It was a very spacious place with tables and booths. They had a good selection, some vegan options too. So, I put it at three stars because the sushi rolls were just ok. It is quite pricey for rolls that are just ok. I have had better rolls, for way cheaper at other places. Some of thee quality of the fish seemed fresh and some didn't. I don't know, I just would't pay 20+ bucks for mid sushi.

    Sohrob H.

Food Quality: *** Service: **** Ambiance: **** Value: ** This is a decent spot but in my opinion its okay. It is very popular for its vegan options, which is a huge plus for that community. However, for fish eaters such as myself it doesn't really hit the mark. There are a lot of options in the Bay where you can get better value imo. That said, this is very casual, family friendly and a robust creative menu making it a safe choice for a group with diverse dietary needs.

    Torro roll
    Aisling S.

Takeout review only. 3.5/5 We've gotten take out from here twice. Sushi rolls are tasty and unique, price point is a bit higher than other places. Toro roll: 3/5, I think Toro is just better as nigiri, and I felt like this toro was not as buttery as others. Chirashi bowl: 3/5 I wouldn't recommend for the price point. Fish is fresh though. The best rolls were those with walnut crunch rolls so the veggie tiger roll and the walnut shrimp roll. Those 2 are definitely 4/5. Overall I would order again but it wouldn't be my first sushi takeout pick.

    Ferrari roll

We ordered the deluxe chirashi, hamachi with truffle oil, seared salmon toro , Ferrari roll and spicy salmon roll. The chirashi had an assortment of chef choice fish and most fish came in 2 pieces so we could share the chirashi. The seared salmon toro was amazing! Ferrari roll was also very good and it came with seaweed salad and imitation crabmeat. Wait staff was super friendly . Presentation was awesome! Just a bit pricey.

    Oh Baby Box

such a satisfying meal. I don't remember eating this much fish in one sitting since japan got the deluxe chirashi ($60) and the oh baby box ($60). Both were beautifully presented, and honestly felt well worth the price bc there was actually so much fish. oh baby box - this came with seared salmon toro, scallops, uni, ikura, and crab. The natural sweetness of the scallops, uni, and crab really stood out to me. The salmon belly was also incredibly fatty and perfectly lightly seared. deluxe chirashi - this came w/ hamachi, seared salmon toro, chu toro, sweet shrimp, walu, ikura, uni, scallops, tamagoyaki (and some white fish that i didn't recognize). I liked that the chef added his own twist to flavor of the fish (the truffle hamachi and yuzu scallops were 10/10)

Mango Salmon Roll (8pcs) Spicy Tuna Crunch (8pcs)

I went during dinner time, the service and atmosphere were great. Servers were very kind. The sushi was great and there was not a fishy smell in the store despite selling sushi. They give a complementary miso soup, salad and vegi taco! Would love to come here again another time.

However, my boyfriend was not a fan of pork belly and seafood, so he was wary to try any okonomiyaki. He finally chose to try their steak rice bowl, because there is no way you can go wrong with steak and rice, right? Well, to our surprise, his choice turned out to be his worst meal he ever paid for. The rice was not hot enough, or I could say, room temperature. There were a bunch of raw white onions and pickles in it, I guess they were the culprit for the room temperature rice. The onion and pickle smell and taste were just too strong that we could barely had any taste of the rice and the steak themselves. Basically, we felt like we were biting a whole white onion fresh from the grocery bag. We also ordered gyoza and chicken karaage, which I think they were frozen and reheated in microwave. The chicken meat was rubbery and tasteless. We did not finish any of them and didn't even want to pack the leftover to-go. Service was okay. We were seated right away but waited for a while to make an order. We didn't really have a designated server. The one that seated us and took our order was really knowledgable in terms of giving recommendation. But we didn't see him again after that, and some other servers helped us during our dine-in.

They have a happy hour menu from 7 to 10 pm on Saturdays, but they differ depending on the day. They have some appetizers and drinks on the happy hour menu, so we tried the gyoza, mochi and side tempura. The mochi had a house made sauce glaze that was sweet and salty, and came with nori as a wrap. The texture of the mochi was really soft and chewy. The gyoza were really crispy with a soft interior. We ended up ordering a second round of them. The tempura was nicely fried with not too much batter. The shrimp was really succulent and I liked that they have mushroom tempura too. From their regular menu, we ordered a bunch of food. I tried the yaki-onigiri ochazuke with salmon, fried chicken skin, the eggplant and various skewers. The fried chicken skin was really nice and crispy, and came with a ponzu sauce and mayo to dip in. The yaki onigiri was nicely grilled and still had crispy bits when submerged in the soup. I was really excited that they have shishamo/smelt. It was nicely roasted and didn't have any overtly fishy flavor. Everyone at my table really enjoyed their food. Everything was simply prepared, properly cooked, and excellent. The squid was beautifully charred, the sausages were plump and blistered, and the shrimp were exceptionally crisp. We washed it all down with a bottle of chilled junmai sake. A nice touch: they bring over a basket filled with mismatched ceramic and glass sake cups so everyone can choose their own.
