The chirashi bowl was fresh and delicious, and I really enjoyed having a nice variety of fish in one bowl. The Oh Baby Box was also really fun to try -- every bite had something different going on. The salmon and avocado tacos were probably my favorite. I wasn't sure what to expect, but they were absolutely delicious and such a tasty twist. All fish was fresh and presented with extravagant decorations of sticks, banana leaves and a sushi mat. Stumbled upon Oh Baby while on my quest to try all the sushi takeout in the Bay Area. The location was hidden away and a little random, but the inside of the store was bustling with tables even on a weekday. We tried both sushi combos (NO1 combo and 12pc omakase) and felt like it was a super decent option for takeout, just not an all time favorite. I did enjoy that they didn't skimp on garnishes for the nigiri, even for takeout. It helped add to the experience of omakase at home! All in all I would revisit, although it wouldn't be my first choice for takeout. read more

This sushi restaurant is located in a weird spot by the highway surrounded by office buildings. The inside is minimalistic and quite nice. The menu has a lot of options but the one thing that struck me was that it was on the higher end for pricing. The service was decent but on the slower side as I had to wave my hand a couple times just for them to remove empty plates off our table. The water pitcher is already on the tables so servers don't really do much besides place your order, running the food, and clean tables. The funny thing is how most items were on big plates and the tables are very small. I ordered the - Chirashi - Sushi Tacos The fish here is extremely delicious; buttery and smooth. The portions are perfect for one person as well. The sushi tacos were pretty good; reminded me of poke nachos. One thing I don't understand is that they give you a large piece of an inedible bamboo mat that's sitting in the middle of the Chirashi for decoration. It looks nice but it's inconvenient when I need to dig this out just to start eating. Overall I'd come back when I'm in the mood for this particular place, but there are other sushi places out there. read more

The fish is very fresh and tasty but the service here is very bad. I usually don't complain about the service, but it was really disappointing. Here it took a long time to even get a menu and when I said that I was allergic to sesame seeds there were still sesame seeds in the food when we spoke to the women worker, she kind of just brushed it off, but the other guy helped us out. read more

Packed on Saturday night. This is my second time here. I came here about a year ago and got the omakase set. I remember it being a great deal for what you get. This time we were less hungry and opted to try some rolls. 49ers - 5/5 solid. This is my go to roll and I love how they cut off the skin for the lemon slices! Great take. Ferrari- 5/5 the sauce flavors are great and they add crab salad and seaweed salad on the side it was a great portion Uni nigiri - 4/5 I love uni I think the crispy leaf fried was too much and I would have gone without it. Watermelon juice - must get!! Fresh squeezed very refreshing. Service was immaculate the waitress checked in often and was very apologetic for the "wait" but it didn't even take long. I didn't know about this sushi place that was so close to me until a couple weeks ago. Came here on a Sunday evening, wasn't too busy, we were able to get seated right away. The place is kind of ticked in a corner across the street from some businesses. It was a very spacious place with tables and booths. They had a good selection, some vegan options too. So, I put it at three stars because the sushi rolls were just ok. It is quite pricey for rolls that are just ok. I have had better rolls, for way cheaper at other places. Some of thee quality of the fish seemed fresh and some didn't. I don't know, I just would't pay 20+ bucks for mid sushi. read more

Toro roll: 3/5, I think Toro is just better as nigiri, and I felt like this toro was not as buttery as others. Chirashi bowl: 3/5 I wouldn't recommend for the price point. Fish is fresh though. The best rolls were those with walnut crunch rolls so the veggie tiger roll and the walnut shrimp roll. Those 2 are definitely 4/5. We were really excited to try this place after some friends had recommended it but unfortunately our experience fell short. Food - while the menu has many options (vegetation too!) we were a little surprised by the prices. Rolls start at about $24 each. This feels above average. The rolls themselves were good, no complaints. Miso soup was good too. Service - our waitress was very kind and professional but we felt VERY rushed. Some of us were still chewing our food before our plates were taken and the bill was offered. I specifically asked if they could wait some time before paying the bill but they brought it again after 2 mins. The restaurant was not full and it was not near closing time, so it was very confusing. At the end, our group went elsewhere for dessert so we could continue enjoying our outing together. We total lasted at the restaurant for 45 mins max for a party of 4. Unfortunately these aspects combined don't leave me excited to return :( read more

The chirashi had an assortment of chef choice fish and most fish came in 2 pieces so we could share the chirashi. The seared salmon toro was amazing! Came by for dinner the other night and it was a mediocre experience. Oh Baby Sushi is a Chinese-owned Americanized sushi restaurant right across from the Google campus. Parking is plentiful in the private strip mall lot and dining is indoors only. Staff were 100% hispanic and all wore disposable gloves to pick up trash, to wipe their nose, to rub their face, and to make sushi. The staff that came by with our check had holes in his super loose gloves. The cooks in the kitchen would take off and put on the same glove to make more sushi?!? Started off with the miso soup which was more like miso-flavored water. It was heavily watered down...unlike anything I've had in Japan. The side salad was decent. I loved how the dressing was on the side. The omakase consisted of 12 pieces. The fish was decent although the rice was absolutely off. The rice kinda fell apart and wasn't sushi rice...it was more like rice from a Chinese restaurant...bummer. The baked scallop roll only came out after our waiter asked if we wanted more food...when we ordere the roll at the beginning. Turns out the roll was just hanging out in the kitchen...lovely. We got a complimentary salad and miso soup, both of which were quite delicious. We ordered a deluxe chirashi and salmon lover roll to share, both of which were below average for the bay. The quality of the fish wasn't very fresh, and I was a bit disappointed that the salmon lover (maybe called 49ers roll here) roll didn't have salmon inside, only on top of the roll. Apparently sushi was one of them. He found a place that has vegan options which was awesome. I loved the Big Daddy roll- it had just the right amount of spice. Fifteen minutes after ordering, our waitress returned to tell us the chef refused to make the chirashi bowl because they were "too busy." Bizarrely, we watched another table get served a chirashi bowl shortly after. We quickly substituted two additional rolls to save the meal, but that only led to more waiting. After nearly an hour, only our initial roll and nigiri had arrived. When we asked about the remaining rolls, we were informed they hadn't even been started yet. All the while, the dirty dishes remained on our table without anyone bothering to clear them. Frustrated, we canceled the rest of the order. The waitress showed complete apathy, offering zero apology or concern for the disastrous experience. I found this neat little new sushi place that's super close to where we live that appears to be a nice little local gem, so I took my husband here for one of our date nights. They're known for affordable chirashi bowls, so we tried a regular and a deluxe. I noticed that their miso soup tastes different than what I'm used to, and my husband said there's sugar in it...? I really like the sesame dressing in their salad, but the sushi rice was not as sweet as I expected (more sour than sweet) & tamago also not as sweet as I expected. The chirashi bowl was delivered in a beauty place setting that looked deceiving large with a generous portion, but it's actually smaller and less than it appears. We have been loving all the rolls at Oh Baby Sushi in Redwood City and it's great to have another location close by! We went for early dinner and were seated quickly. The restaurant has ample parking and was not super busy when we arrived. We ordered a Vegan Udon bowl, Veggie Bomb, Veggie on Fire, Spicy Veggie Roll and Edamame. The food took some time to be served but was super delicious. The Udon was perfectly flavored, warm and yummy. And so were the rolls. However, the tempura bits on. Veggie on Fire were tad bit chewy. The accompanying ginger and wasabi was fresh. The edamame was perfect too, not super salty like some places. The place is huge and has ample seating. By the time we were ready to leave, there were a couple families waiting to be seated. The place is great and servers friendly. The rolls are delicious, on the pricey side but great. We got the Warriors and Oh Baby Roll. Warriors Roll (4/5): One piece of this roll will bust a load of buttery-soft seared salmon goodness and imitation crab fishiness into your mouth! The salmon wasn't fishy at all and there's a good balance of rice to other ingredients. The crispy onions on top add a welcome textural contrast. It's a bit on the saltier side with that generous slather of sauce on top. Oh Baby Roll (4/5): Can't go wrong with seared salmon, tuna, and avocado! Had a lovely experience at Oh Baby Sushi. I've tried the Redwood City branch many years ago and was pleasantly surprised to find that they've opened a branch closer to home. The owners were very sweet to give us double portions of miso soup and salad! We ordered the Spicy Tuna Crunch * This was also split into a two person portion! Classic spicy tuna roll with tempura flakes on top. Perfect * Hamachi on top of more hamachi! I didn't taste as the mango as much but still a nice thought Regular Chirashi * Verrry fresh fish slices. We loved the salmon and hamachi. The veggie taco was also given to us for free given with the promo they have now. We got two pieces of too. Food - 5/5 PHENOMENAL veggie taco!! I have never had one so crunchy, sweet and flavorful (with sweet corns filling which I love. :). Love the thick fried seaweed crusted taco itself. This version of taco is definitely the best I have had so far. I also ordered their veggie rolls - Veggie Bomb roll and Daddy Roll). Both turned out really good. I love the veggie bomb roll especially as it gives the slight punch of heat with sweetness from their sauce. My family ordered their Chirashi bowl and love how fresh their sashimi were. I have to say even their salad was really fresh (and the dressing was creamy and tasty). Ambiance - 5/5 nice modern spacious, clean with a very chill, smooth jazz background music.
