It's good almost always .... Some days and I don't know why food look like was heating and heating again many times so became over cooked!

I loved this place for their chocolate tart, lemon tart, chocolate cake and cheesecake. Today I ordered to try banana/choco/peanut butter cake. I knew their deserts are made from natural, fresh ingredients so I was shocked when I tried this cake. It tasted awful!! Very greasy, fatty cream like common butter and the cake itself tasteless. Further more the waitress Darnya was unpleasant and unfriendly, she spoiled my evening mood and by the way it was my friend's birthday! :( She refused to replace this disgusting cake and included it in recipe and I just try one tiny peace of cake. Just down the street from my b/f's place; many good finds in this very eclectic neighborhood. I walked the dogs down to pick up dinner to- go. I ordered the chili and cornbread appetizer which, for me, could be a meal in itself; the three grain vegetable burger with blue cheese and garlic fries. I'm vegetarian. Everything was fantastic. I loved the green dipping sauce for the fries - no idea what it was, but it was delicious. The burger was a great size and definitely good proportion of patty. The garlic fries were insanely good - OMG! A word of caution - they are drenched in garlic bits. I loved it, but it was too much for my b/f. He had a few because he said he wouldn't be able to be around me if he didn't. I apparently stilled smelled like garlic the next day. It was worth it for me. There were tables on the sidewalk out front and lovely little lights. There are two doors, but they both lead to Bloom. The left door goes to the counter side where you can order to-go, juices, teas, desserts, etc. There are tables on this side as well. The right door is the restaurant side. The staff was super friendly and efficient. There are a couple of green 15 minute parking spots out front if you are picking up and meters (great for securing the dogs while I ordered. Consistently mediocre. I like the vibe, but the food is always 100% meh. No seasoning, no flair. It does in a pinch, but I wouldn't travel across town for anything they serve. Just my opinion, obviously. Also, I ordered a medium well (don't judge) burger to pick up and got there 6 minutes later - early - and it was done? And ice cold. This is a lovely quaint little cafe with colorful walls and pleasant, helpful staff. I went here for a first date. It was perfect. Casual and cute of a setting. My date & I ordered the tuna tartare appetizer, the vegetarian curry, & the veggie burger to share everything. It was ALL delicious & perfect, both in presentation on the plates and taste. Dear Bloom, the fiance LOVES you. Namely for your vegetable curry. He might be the biggest carnivore I know, and he said that he could convert to a vegetarian for this dish. Imagine curry spices and coconut milk. The side of brown rice that had mixed in carrots was also very delish. I want to be a fan but my dish was lacking. I ordered the steak salad and although there appeared to be dressing on it... it was so bland. I managed to salvage the dish with lemons, salt and pepper. Sorry chef if you saw me. Also, the different cuts of beef varied in wellness. Some pieces were WELLLLL done while others were pink. I wish my server would have asked me how I even wanted this prepared. Love Love Love this place. They have gluten-free pastries, the chocolate chip cookies are yummy. You always want more. This is my go-to restaurant. Anyone I bring here loves it. Sometimes I eat here several times a week and am never disappointed in the food. I love the salmon bowl, burger salad, mother earth juice, matcha latte, and the liquid power smoothie are my usual. Garlic fries are the bomb! But my favorite part about eating at Bloom is it feels like home, I'm always greeted with a big smile from the staff. The owners are super nice and are always busting their butts with the staff. It's been my spot since I moved to this neighborhood 8 years ago. You won't be disappointed if you eat here. read more

I reall wish there could be 1/2 stars on Yelp. I give Bloom 3.5 stars. Went with a group of friends after Runyon today. The owner and servers accomodated our large group and doggies. Everyone enjoyed their food - good sandwiches and yummy fries. Their side salad is actually pretty - lots of different colors... blooming! Parking on a side street was really easy. There were 2 jerks who left a bad taste in my mouth. One was a smoker (!) who tried to steal our table and the other one was a guy who didn't want us to sit next to him with our dogs. First, I will say this place has great food with a variety of healthy choices. It's seasoned well and presented perfectly. The one bad thing.....the customer service is horrible! I've come 3 times and each time there was ONE friggin server! It took forever to get water, longer to order our food and an eternity for them to prepare it. My order was wrong but the mistake was actually good. I don't see myself returning even if it is one mile away from my house I value customer service way more than the quality of food. Bloom's cafe is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. Even when I lived in SF and would visit LA, I would make it a point to make a trip to Bloom's. Thier food is very flavorful and absolutely delicious! Thier menu changes often so its hard to recommend dishes.. but you cannot go wrong with thier pizzas and salads. Thier pizzas are very very thin and topped off generously with all sorts of unusual toppings.. and that goes for thier salads also. For 2 people.. a pizza and salad is the perfect amount of food.. i could eat bloom's everyday! read more

Free Range Turkey Burger 8oz on Wheat Bun with garlic fries - The burger was good, but nothing special. The fries were better than the burger. 2. BBQ Chicken Wrap - edible The second time: 1. Turkey Meatball Dinner - meatballs tasted like they were straight out of a frozen bag. the pasta was not seasoned, just bland... very boring... no taste. Worse than what I make at home! I had to pretend that it was good so my son could at least eat some of it. He didn't make it through the whole thing so I wound up making something else at home for him. 2. Macaroni & Cheese Dinner - GROSS!!!! This dish is so disgusting that I'd rather eat the turkey meatball dinner! I don't even know how to describe this except it tastes like you're eating a bunch of rotten, soupy, cheese. Ewwww!!!! I also tried the Cooler smoothie because the guy swore I wouldn't be able to taste the carrots AND it's one of their most popular drinks. OMG it was soooo nasty!!! I don't like carrots and that's all I could taste. My son liked it though. The second drink I tried was the Mother Hearth. This drink is so gross that I spit it out as soon as it hit my taste buds! Yup, I was made an instant fan of "bloom" last night, and I dunno why? 1. They do not have a liquor license, and I like to drink. 2. Everything served is organic, and I've got no pref. 3. It's hidden in a neighorhood, not known for food. So why did I like bloom so much anyway? I think b/c it was a surprise ... food is tasty and healthy and moderately priced, but that wasn't expected. It has an upbeat style of its own with melodic vibes streaming constantly. It has a unique food menu that is all its own. bloom is a brave venture. I am surprised b/c I'd think that this place would have to be in Weho. Since it is not, I like it even more. It blazes a trail in an unassuming neighborhood. It has character ... a place that I can call "my spot". Next time I'll bring my own bottle of wine & surprise someone else. read more

Been here a few times as it's food is good & there are vegan options. Probably the oddest customer experience I have ever had - where it felt like they actually just don't care about you. Which is surprising since you would think that the cafe thrives off of its neighborhood. Not to leave one of those reviews - but.... Stood at the register watching the staff argue over receipts for 5 minutes before looking up to acknowledge us. Waited for about 15 mins for 1 açaí bowl & an iced coffee. I came in for the first time , at first everything was ok . The food was okay , I was served by this Latina older lady with gray hair and a gray sweater , this was around 11:20 AM on 4/14 . She served me , as that's her job and that's what she's paid for . When I was paying , she was looking into the machine to see if I tipped her , so unprofessional . She noticed I didn't tip her as the food was already expensive , and she made a comment in front of other customers which is RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. After she came to pick up one PLATE and the only plate off my table , she had such a bad attitude , as I said " thank you " and she said nothing back because she was mad for not tipping her . It felt terrible to be treated that way . Servers need to realize not everyone can tip or is forced to tip . Never coming back . read more

Stopped by last weekend on a whim with my boyfriend about 30min before closing after our most recent 2nd experience at Bloom (delivery, which was both fast and delicious) and have to say, we are officially addicted to this spot. The food really is good (healthy and great quality,) especially given how it's priced. Turkey chili w/ cornbread was SO tasty, the BBQ chicken wrap was as good as the last time, and the steak sandwich on baguette (complete w/ crisp skinny garlic fries, one of the sides you can opt for,) was the perfect little meal. To top it off, service that night was truly great, thanks to Gonzalo. He was the only server on the floor and was highly attentive despite the fact that there was a decent-sized crowd when we arrived. Between him and the busser, we were constantly checked on, glasses filled, questions answered (yes, you can bring your wine with no corkage fee!), and at the end of the meal, even though it was past closing time, he encouraged us to try one of their desserts (we opted for the lavender creme brulee, which turned out to be as good as he said) and sincerely told us to take our time with our check. I give this place 3 1/2 stars and it's subject to move up to 4 stars. Right on Pico near Fairfax. Pretty easy to park on the street. Went for a Sunday Brunch menu-time. Waited a bit for a table but the host (who seemed to be some sort of manager) was totally attentive. He got us a table as soon as he could. There's both outside and inside seating. The Service: Our guy was pretty nice but seemed pretty busy and TOLD US SO! Weird. I am so busy sorry. I was busy- sorry. Screwed up our order- sorry etc etc. Oh well, we were in a good mood and laid back so we rolled with it. He was weird too- like he was high or something and seemed annoyed at things like can we have ketchup, mustard etc. Oh well. The food: It was OK. Some of our meals were good, some (mine) just OK. He really screwed up our orders so we didn't necessarily get what we ordered. I had a Turkey burger, it was OK. Just OK. The mussels looked good. I want to try those! Took forever to get our check. Bathrooms- nice enough. Ambiance- nice enough. Cool that you can sit in or out. Back or front. Lots of flies inside......lots. But, that's what happens when it's open. No real complaint. My friend introduced me to this place and I love him for it. I got the Californian and it was one of the best things I ate in my whole entire life. Personally, I'm a garlic and avocado lover so this was perfect for me. My omelette's ingredients came stacked so it was more like a sandwich but with eggs as buns- which worked for me. But my friend's omelette (I think he got the Santa Fe) was more of a jumble of ingredients cooked WITH the egg and folded in half. We asked if it was okay to study and then we asked if we could use our phones since there is a NO LAPTOP AND ELECTRONIC USAGE , so we wanted to see if a phone was okay as we look things up. First impression? Not good. Front room -- chilly in temperature, and deafening in terms of loud chatter ricocheting off the walls. YOUCH! Went to adjoining room which is a little dingy on the couch/chairs. And uncomfortable on the upright chairs. HELP! Learned the single bathroom was stopped up. And our server didnt know if soup of the day was cream-based. Hmmm. Things did pick up, however. The music playing in the first room (where we settled back into) was very cool old school jazz. Nice. (But the waiter and I still had many, 'What?' 'Excuse me?' SO hard to hear). But the food? Well that's why we came. I had the Sante Fe omelette (available as scramble, too). Came with potatoes OR salad. They gave me both, and each were done with great ingredients and love. I liked the omelette, with its fresh veggies with chicken chorizo sausage. Also sampled the quinoa/sunnyside eggs. Tasty, a bit of a kick, and a nice surprise. Coffee was above average, maybe a B+. Took the soup of the day home for later and I'm told it rocked. I ordered food for delivery from Bloom Cafe and was not pleased with their mushroom and pepperoni pizza. It arrived to my house cold. The mushroom had a very funky taste to it, and the crust seemed a bit flimsy and a tad soggy. Not a fan. Their turkey burger was also cold and just okay. Nothing too special and perhaps over-priced for the taste. I did enjoy the salad that came with a unique green dressing that went very well with the ingredients. Unfortunately, with the amount we paid and having our food arrive our house cold, the side salad was the only highlight of our meal. Open 8-5 seven days a week, Bloom is definitely bound to become a new classic brunch destination. Their friendly staff was very accomodating, unquestioningly enabling me to get their 2-2-2 option (with 2 sides, fruit, 2 eggs any style and 2 pancakes) with their specialty lemon-ricotta pancakes as a sub. They were light and delightfully flavorful, subtly including the featured ingredients without clubbing you over the head with them. The menu is all organic and the owner says that a backyard garden is on its way. Get there before it's so crowded that you have to punt and see what's shakin' at Denny's. read more

I had to give 1 star due to poor customer service. This is for an individual lady who takes phone orders. Unfortunately, I do not know her name. When I called to place a phone order, I spoke to one gentleman then got put on hold. A lady eventually answered. I provided the full address and told her I was directly across the street. But that was not good enough for some reason, she then asked for North, South, East or West?!!! Im confused why the ADDRESS didn't suffice. I gave her the address more than once and she still asked for further direction. Apparently, they use a third party to deliver. I was directly across the street patronizing a business....and could not leave for 2 hours. I didn't think it would be hard for Bloom to do a delivery so close by. I gave up and asked to cancel my order. The staff arrogantly, stated fine and hung up the phone. In the restaurant business, customer service is huge! This staff did not care about my business at all and seemed happy I canceled. Thats money out of the business owner's pocket. When staff don't care about losing business, theres a problem. I've heard a number of other people complain about poor customer service from the servers at Bloom. Hopefully the rude staff can be removed because the food isn't bad. read more

My dear significant other ordered delivery from here and I enjoyed the Moroccan Chicken as he got the burger! The Garlic Parmesan fries were delicious!! Judging from the menu, there are a lot of vegetarian choices. I enjoy vegetarian entrees and am usually seeking. I would recommend it. read more

Ordered delivery and it took nearly 2hours (only 1 mile away) we were told delivery would take around an hour. When the food arrived it was super cold. We asked them to call instead of ringing the doorbell (sleeping baby); the delivery person arrived and rang the bell 3 times. I called to talk to the manager and was told I would get a call back. I have been coming here for while and although the food is great , the service needs revamping. The issue today had to do with their doors being open and flies kept getting in and settling on our cups and food. I had to ask repeatedly until they finally obliged. The owner her self was reluctant to close the door, I asked her to pack everything to go and was prepared to leave . She finally agreed to close it while we dined.
