She told me to wait and she'll get the order ready, then immediately moved on to help the customer behind me. To my surprise, that customer pulled out her Trader Joe's cocoa powder and launched into a full-blown conversation with the owner about how to prepare it. Meanwhile, I continued waiting with no follow‑up. Eventually, I got tired of waiting and said "never mind," and the owner simply nodded and continued chatting with the other customer. I don't think she's hurting for business if she's turning down customers like that. It felt rude and dismissive to be ignored despite being first in line. I should have just gone across the street to the Farmer's Market instead.

I even chatted with the personnel at the register about a job interview that I have today. She showed interest and seemed more excited for me than I am for myself. It was on a Thursday morning so the place was not packed nor loud in terms of noise. The young lady who brought my order to me all the way where I was standing was also very friendly with a nice smile. The breakfast sandwich was delicious, the portion is huge. It's not your typical sized croissant. It can easily be shared between 2 people. Tips are not mandatory but would be nice to support those amazing workers who prepare our foods. Things to know: There are paid parking meters only and parking can be very scarce. I would advise taking a shared or autonomous ride. Or public transportation (Metro bus) or walk if you live in the area. I live not too far and on the weekend this area is super packed, if you are looking to mingle with random people come on the weekends and if you just want to enjoy your breakfast or lunch solo or with friends come on the weekdays. The only con for me is that there's only 1 restroom , if multiple people want to use restroom I can see a little bit of chaos and long line. That's just my personal thought. I really dislike this increasingly common trend of adding a required fee that explicitly isn't a tip, supposedly to help provide employees with a living wage. Pay your employees appropriately and price the menu accordingly. Tacking an extra charge onto the bill just feels unnecessarily opaque and leaves a bad taste, especially when customers are then still expected to consider a tip on top of it. Nothing was particularly terrible here, but between the bland lunch, the flies, and the service-fee policy, I left wondering why I'd had this place bookmarked for so long.

I wasn't offered a high chair or booster seat. I didn't see a kids menu, just 'peewee potatoes' on the regular menu. We ordered the potatoes, and avocado toast (no egg or cheese because we're vegan) and an OJ in plastic cup so my son could safely enjoy. I was a little surprised to see no obvious vegan options at a spot like this...but the potatoes were so bland and a little undercooked for my preference :/ I took one bite and knew my son wouldn't eat it, I honestly don't think my dog would have eaten it either.
