Just bought my first plant for my new apartment, and I didn't get her name... but pretty sure she is the owner was very kind and gave me lots of information. Graduation. This means big bouquets of flowers for your graduate. I walked in the day of my daughters graduation to get a bouquet of my daughters favorite flowers. The shop was understandably busy but I wasn't waiting for long. Suzy, the owner, assisted me with arranging a custom bouquet $5 a stem AND attached water vessels to each individual stem so the flowers would stay fresh especially for photos at graduation that night. I shared with Suzy how I can assemble bouquets. I went to Costco to buy flowers but all they had were daisies and carnations. I bought flowers for my daughters friends but not for my daughter. Suzy sold me everything I needed to assemble the 5 bouquets of Costco flowers at home while my daughters was being arranged. She wasn't mean about me buying flowers elsewhere. If anything, she was really supportive and helpful. I appreciate that so much. I also bought a plant for one of my daughters teachers. I had a fuss free, super helpful, positive experience here. I was in need of some roses for a special someone in my life. Not "I am soooooo sorry I did that" roses. Not "It just happened" roses. Not even, "I swear, we are just bff's and she's really a sweet gal" roses. Just because roses, that's what I needed and I didn't want to pay way too much, as is often the case when men find themselves at the florist. I walked in and was blown away because there are flowers and plants bustling throughout the shop. They have some seriously gorgeous orchids, but I just can't spend too much on plants right now b/c I'm a serial orchid killer. I spoke with Suzie (I'm 87% confident that was her name and in the event that I may be a 13%er, I apologize) and she hooked it up. My coworker showed me a photo of the arrangement from his mother's service; it was elegant, classy, large, and perfect! My only recommendation is for them to learn how to share a photo of the arrangement. When I asked, they said they didn't have the technology to do that. Technology? All you need is a smart phone! Susie responded to all my emails within a day and clearly read my long, annoying, awkward note/request in my online pre-order. I was looking for somewhat specific colors of orchids, but understood that not all colors are available (supply, seasonal blooms, region, etc.). She sent me pictures, just as I had asked, of what she received in shipment and allowed me to choose and I ended up doubling the order (A. because I couldn't choose between 2 options so I chose both and B. to support a local business willing to take the time to entertain my annoyingness). I ordered their Citrus Purity arrangement (see 1st photo) online and specifically asked them to please make it look like the photo as much as possible. It's such an adorable arrangement. However, I received an arrangement without any kumquats (see 2nd photo). They said kumquats aren't in season right now. So it was a Citrus Purity arrangement without the citrus which to me is a main feature of the arrangement. It would be nice if they noted on their website what time of year certain arrangements are available as pictured. I was very disappointed that they didn't inform me of this before I picked it up. Flowers are meant to be special but they managed to ruin that moment. I feel like I wasted money for sad flowers with weeds. I would have been more satisfied with standard flowers from Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. I asked for two bouquets wanting to spend $40 each. Yes I wanted small bouquets...I didn't want to spend that much on flowers and I don't think this is a unreasonable... but the judgement of the ladies who worked there was unbearable and rude. "Oh they will be petite bouquets..." in a passive aggressive tone. The customer service you get is dependent on the amount you spend. They were extremely chatty with the person before but it was awkward silence afterwards. They are catering to people who want elaborate and expensive arrangements. If you're looking to pick up something simple, don't come here. There are plenty of other florists in the Burlingame area. read more

A few months ago, I purchased an orchid plant arrangement, inclusive of the pot, succulents, etc. I had been so pleased with a day-of arranged that I purchased as a gift, that I was eager to purchase something for my house. When I made that purchase, I was told that because I purchased the pot, I could bring the arrangement back anytime for a refresher and that it would cost me $40. I brought it back two months later, after everything had died, and was told that it would cost me $70 (even though I was initially promised $40). Slightly annoyed, I sucked it up and paid it, telling myself that I would just never shop here again. Three weeks later and everything, including succulents, are dying and dead. I have plants all over my house, all of which are alive and well. I'm not sure if I'm being sold poor quality plants, but it's really quite disappointing. $70 is a lot to spend on an arrangement that is supposed to last months, but lasts two weeks. Manager offered to replace the plant, but I think I'll just do it myself at this point. From the plant situation to the promise of $40, whole thing seems a bit shady to me. Why hello again Yelp! It's been a while since I posted a review but this one is a MUST. I ordered a plant for my husband's new office but the plant turned out looking very different from what was ordered online. I called them immediately to see if there was anything that can be done. Kristen was more than happy to help remedy the situation. She sent me other options within the same price range and I got to pick from their newest selection of plants that were not yet available online. Usually I get really anxious about having to correct a situation like this but Blooming Vase made it so easy and stress free. I am so happy to know that there are still some very honest and reliable businesses out there. I have ordered from them in the past but it's usually for work events.
