It is always fun to try new pop-up food stands, and pop-up dessert stands are a special treat…read more I just tried Strawberry, the pop-up Dubai chocolate strawberry cup stand under the Gelson's sign, on the corner of Laurel and Riverside in Valley Village. My hubby and I were helped by Jasmine, who was welcoming, sweet, and very friendly. She gave us Dubai chocolate samples, and then little sample cups of the Dubai chocolate strawberry cup topped with baked Filo dough for crunch. We wound up sharing the large Dubai chocolate strawberry cup for $18. The strawberries were plump and sweet and fresh. The pistachio cream was rich and delicious. The chocolate was melty, and as we ate, hardened into a nice little shell. The shreds of baked Filo dough gave it a very nice crunch. It was really fun having a parking lot picnic! You couldn't ask for a friendlier or nicer employee than Jasmine. She really sold it! This isn't something you eat every day because it's extremely rich, filling, and admittedly, quite expensive. But I could see myself getting a hankering and going back again one night when I'm in the mood for a sweet Dubai chocolate strawberry cup.

Glad I did, I got to try Dubai with banana and not just strawberries. It didn't take to long to make. Fast and yummie. No line which was cool. Ate in the parking lot of Gelson market. Great location for this, lots of foot and car traffic. I parked in Gelson market.

This has definitely become one of my go-to spots whenever I'm craving something sweet!…read more They are a family-owned bakery that combines handcrafted cinnamon rolls, creative flavors, and a serious love for hip hop, and you can feel that personality in everything they do. I came in for a special occasion this time because they were doing a collaboration with Prince St. Pizza, featuring a limited-edition savory pizza roll. It combines All About the Cinnamon's signature handcrafted dough with Prince St.'s iconic marinara and those famous crispy, cupped-and-charred pepperoni cups. Such a fun concept! It was definitely savory, but still had that slightly sweet quality from the cinnamon roll-style dough. A really creative take on pizza and a fun collaboration. Of course, I couldn't leave without getting one of their classics: The Big Poppa Cinnamon Roll--their OG organic cinnamon bun loaded with cinnamon and topped with organic cream cheese icing. I've tried several of their specialty rolls and my current favorites are: *The LL-Their homemade organic cinnamon bun topped with chunks of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Reese's peanut butter icing. *The Ruler- Their homemade organic cinnamon bun topped with melted cookie butter and a Lotus cookie, served with their organic cream cheese icing. What I really love about this place is that there's a story behind it. The owners, Lindsay and Lawrence, started the business during COVID after making cinnamon buns at home, combining their love of baking with their shared passion for hip hop. They've built it into something that feels much bigger than just a bakery; it's about family, creativity, music, and community. You really can't go wrong with anything here and I love that they're constantly coming up with new flavors and collaborations. Parking: Behind the shop in the residential area, which makes stopping in pretty convenient.

Had this place on my list of spots I needed to check out, and was finally in Sherman Oaks, so made it a necessity to stop by. Walked inside and was immediately greeted by hip hop music playing. Makes your soul happy. After looking at the menu, which is hefty ish, went up and placed my order. The Weezy, with a creme brulee top, freshly bruleed to order, was decent. I was looking for that glassy, crackly brulee you get from the actual dessert, but that was not here. Flavor wise, it tasted like a regular cinnamon roll with a little burn to it. Not my favorite. The X, which comes with cinnamon toast crunch on top, was pretty good, with the extra cinnamon from the cereal, though some of the cereal pieces tasted a little stale. Still a tasty bun! Finally was the Missy, with strawberry shortcake crumbles and fresh strawberries. Probably the winner in terms of flavor and everything going on. You get the regular bun underneath with the cream cheese glaze, then the crunch from the shortcake crumbles filled by those pops of fresh strawberries. Just a great bite and, honestly, not overly sweet compared to the others. Overall, nice and friendly staff, great vibe, music was on point and creative cinnamon rolls. Definitely get the Missy, pass on the Weaxy and, if you love cinnamon toast crunch, get the X.

Anyway, I had my pick of the menu and selected the Boston cream pie cake, Italian lemon cake and lemon blueberry crumb cheesecake. I am a lover of all things food. One bite can make my eyes close and my shoulders shimmy to music no one else can hear. And yet .. i have never been more disappointed in three things simultaneously. The lemon blueberry cheesecake was the smallest thing I've ever seen. For the price i think ut would at least be a little taller. Its crumb topping added great texture to an otherwise lackluster cheesecake. There was simply not enough lemon and I felt it was missing some lemon curd or fresh lemon zest. The Boston cream pie -- although attractive -- missed the flavor profile for me completely. The custard wasn't that trademark vanilla cream and the chocolate coating reminded me of the time I tasted dark cocoa powder straight. The cake in it had a nice texture but was spongier than expected without the spongy moisture. The best of the three if I had to pick one was the Italian lemon cake, which for me, still needed more of that zesty kick of lemon. They were all very one note and we didn't bothering finishing them. I was disappointed and will likely not return. Oh well, worth a shot ..
