Came out to Blu Fig Cafe after seeing their amazing reviews to enjoy some coffee. The shop is tucked away in a scenic area of Downtown Long Grove. They had a decent amount of seating inside as well as tables/chairs outside to enjoy the weather. They offer a variety of simple breakfast food and sandwiches as well as coffee and tea options. The girl working the counter was very to the point and not very cheery. I ordered the 12oz Rose Cardamon Latte which lacked having much flavor. They used purchased syrups but wish it had more of a punch. They open air roast all their coffee beans but my coffee was either a darker roast than I'm used to or something gave it a more burnt taste. The rose petals are cute but annoying to drink around. My husband got a Chai Latte which used Tazo concentrate and was basic. Our two drinks were about $11 which was great value! While my experience wasn't ideal, others seem to thoroughly enjoy so don't count Blu Fig Cafe out!

Fresh Strawberry Iced Matcha Latte

Adorable coffee shop tucked away off the side of the road. Great and aesthetic outdoor seating, I am eager to come back in the spring to sit out there when the weather is nice. The inside is relatively small with a few tables but its homey coffeehouse vibe makes it a cozy place to visit. I always get their meatalicious sandwich, it's a perfect harmony of flavors with the pickled onions, pepperonchinis, and the Calabrian chili! Must try. There are also a wide variety of drink flavors and options. There were so many I wanted to try! But I landed on the strawberry matcha latte.

Delicious coffee and food with a great view in the parking lot! There's a decent amount of seating both inside and outside, but it def gets busy and can be hard to grab a seat!

Cute place and great location in Long Grove. Arrived early for the Strawberry Festival and popped in for a quick coffee. I tried the Hearty Smoothie. It was heavy on the ginger, which wasn't too tasty. My friends had coffee and a pistachio cappuccino. They liked their choices. I thought the logo on the coffee was a nice touch!

Great iced coffee and muffin. Banana bread wasn't overly sweet. Solid coffee shop. Would go again!

Lox and Bagel

Oh my gosh. I am still over the moon about the decision to come here. You really have no idea, Blu Fig Cafe is truly phenomenal. I came here without setting any expectations. I ordered the Cappuccino, Lox & Bagel, and the Classic Breakfast Bagel. The Classic Breakfast Bagel was a simple choice, but DELICIOUS, warm, and comforting. Then you have the Lox & Bagel, which was outstanding. Each and every ingredient, especially the lox, was clearly fresh. It was also beautifully presented. And the Cappuccino - this was the best cappuccino I've had in a very long time. Really, whenever I order cappuccinos at the cafes and shops near me it's like people don't know how to make a proper one. They always make cappuccinos too milky where you can barely taste the coffee - but here, they got it exactly right. The balance of espresso to foam was spot-on - it wasn't drowned in milk, it was a true cappuccino. And that made all the difference. I would come back just for that. I wasn't expecting to be this taken with Blu Fig Cafe, but here we are. It's one of those places that reminds you how much joy can come from something as simple as a great bagel, a perfect cup of coffee, and a fresh take on the classics. This isn't just breakfast. This is the kind of meal that makes you believe in the little things again.

Plant Power Sandwich

We came to Blu Fig Cafe for lunch. It has a super cute warm atmosphere and the staff was great. We had the avocado toast, the Fig jam bagel with almond butter, and the plant powered sandwich. The toast had great seasoning. The sandwich had pepperoncini which added a great little kick. The bagel was subtle but tasty. We got a gingerbread latte and a lavender latte, both with oat milk. They were both super good. We will be back for sure.

French Hot Dog

This was a cute little cafe. We stopped here during the Long Grove Apple Fest. A breakfast sandwich sounded yummy, but they make it with over easy eggs and that's something I can't abide. So instead I ordered the turkey club, and it was delicious. I also ordered a strawberry lemonade and that was good too. They had something called a French hot dog, which I bought for my daughter because it was something she could easily hold and nibble on which she did rather contentedly. (A French hot dog appears to be a hot dog wrapped in a baguette-like bread.) The inside of the cafe was not too large, but the tables weren't on top of one another either. There is an outdoor seating area that was nice and comfortable. I would visit the Blu Fig again if I'm around Long Grove.

A hidden gem for coffee enthusiasts! I discovered this tucked-away coffee shop during Long Grove's hot chocolate festival a couple years ago and stop by whenever I'm in town. This place quickly became a favorite for me, my family, and friends! Located under Broken Earth Winery, it offers rich, creamy lattes perfectly balanced with velvety steamed milk, and pastries worth raving about, especially the Nutella croissant with strawberries and bananas. I also recommend the Lox bagel (it's sooo delicious!). The friendly staff and welcoming owner make you feel like a regular from day one. I even bought their freshly roasted beans to enjoy at home (they were made fresh just a week before I purchased it)! Whether you want a French café vibe for work or a cozy spot to catch up with friends, Blu Fig delivers exceptional drinks, delicious treats, and a warm atmosphere. Highly recommended! Wishing you much success, Blu Fig!!!

I love the stained glass windows and lamps! OK, we ordered the Apple Cinnamon Pancake which is nice and big and almost like a monkey bread, but not too sweet. We also ordered our standard eggs. They have turkey sausage, which is a plus for those that don't eat pork. I enjoyed poached eggs and corned beef hash, well done, of course. It doesn't come with hashbrowns, but we ordered some and they were delicious. If you order toast with your meal, it comes with a side of butter and jelly. Not sure if they make the jelly in-house, but I was happy with it all. Our service was good, the bussers are always quick to fill you up with water and clear your plates. They were very nice and awesome. I enjoyed coming here and suggest everyone come and try their specialty pancakes. It's really worth it.

For this particular time I was lucky to have pictures having visited on a random Sunday morning at 10:30 AM. They do not take reservations in the parking lot does get full so be prepared. As soon as you enter, you will notice that all Walker brother have a section for queuing up the lines because they usually have lines. Luckily, on this particular Sunday morning, we did not wait at all. We were seated immediately. The service is very quick especially the bus boy service with the coffee and the water and the utensils. And classic walk, brother style food came out very quickly and super fresh. The best thing about Walker brother is that no matter where you go. It is the consistency and it is the consistency not just in what you order, but also in the decades of ordering and eating here.

I'm originally from the PNW (Seattle). Moved to SoCal 35 years back then to Chicagoland almost 3…read moreyears ago. Loved Village Inn. And even SoCal had a few until they almost all petered out. And Baker's Square closed YEARS ago in SoCal. Missed their pies and baked goods! So imagine my (pleasant) surprise when I found this little place in Palatine! I decided to head there for a brekky on a cool May morning. Stepped in, saw all the breads, pastries, and pies along the front counters- wow. I was greeted warmly and seated instantly. My waitress came right away, and I ordered unleaded (decaf for those in the know). It came in a little pot, ala IHOP, and was really, really GOOD. Wow. Decaf has come a long ways from the Sanka days! I ordered the INN-CREDIBLE V.I.B. which allowed me to order 4 yummy items of my choice - I chose the french toast (yummy and spiced just right albeit w/room temp syrup- not a deal-breaker but notable), a strawberry crepe (totally awesome strawberries, but the crepe was a bit colder than expected); scrambled eggs (always a nice stalwart) and two turkey sausage links (as with the frenchie above, nicely flavored!). The ambience was modern, updated, and felt welcoming and (thankfully) a bit familiar. Brought back some good ol' memories even if only the Baker's Square part of the menu was just pies nowadays. But the Village Inn lives on! And that counts - and I'll return. You should check it out too if you enjoy a good brekky at a classic American diner!
