    Asian chicken salad

This place is great! I work close by and we both order lunch or come here after work to hang out and grab a bite to eat together. The salads are HUGE, fresh and delicious. The tater tots are a huge hit and always a must when we come here. I also like getting their crispy chicken tenders as a side too. I've never gotten a sandwich but I hear they are great as well. Location wise it's very convenient as it's right off the highway. There is a parking lot directly behind them you can park if you can't find parking on the street in downtown as well. The back patio is very chill and inviting, and overall just a great place to hang out!

Arrived right when it opened and it was easy to find a big table for a large group. It's order at the counter, take a buzzer, and seat yourself. I had the Thai chicken salad and made it into a bowl, however it doesn't come with as many ingredients as the salad and was a little underwhelming. Next time I'll definitely get a salad! The tater tots were heavenly, and easy to share. Overall a nice place to sit outside for a meal!

I come to Novato often for work and every time I come I always stop at this Blue Barn. The food is always fresh, service is always good, and I love sitting on their back patio in the warmer months. It is pricey, but definitely worth it in my opinion. My go-to is the cobber salad.

Was staying in Novato and was in dire need for something fresh and healthy. Blue Barn popped up on a quick search. Glad it did. We got the Casbah and the Thai Chicken salad. Hard pressed to pick a winner. We also had to get the tots which were crispy and a great side. Takeout was easy. Service friendly. Place is very nondescript when you walk up. The back (or is that the front) was a cute seating area.

I was in Novato visiting and stopped by this location in downtown. Very cute with live music out door in the patio or you can sit inside. It's a walk up and order type of place. Everything was really good. The tacos were crispy and had good flavor. Both burgers were cooked well and delicious. The service was great all very friendly.

The patio rules are giving major HOA Karen.

The good: the food. Generally won't disappoint. Fresh ingredients done well. The bad: Extremely NOT dog or kid friendly. Staff seem disgruntled and like you annoy them just by your presence. The yellow jackets outside are out of control they need to put more traps up or something.

This place just raises the bar in Novato. Best salads and amazing sandos. The beergarden just seals the deal.

Prices have increased over the years, but not offensively. My recent Assorted Delite "half" sandwich was $11.50 but still as big and ginormous as I last remembered and plenty of food for one big person like myself. The fresh rolls is toasted perfectly, not burnt, the inner white bread stays fluffy and doughy. There is enough ham, pastrami, and salami proteins to keep you satisfied, and just the right amount lettuce, tomato, and onion. The ingredients are nothing exotic, but somehow this magical delicious combination can't seem to be replicated anywhere else in the world except humble, dull, sleepy Novato California. When I picked up the sandwiches, they were leaking through the bag. Correction. Mine was leaking through the bag. The staff member put it in a plastic bag. I took it home, opened up the wrap and it was completely soaked in oil. Through the paper. The sandwich roll was covered in it. Picking it up and eating it was a challenge because it was so oily. There was balsamic vinegar on it as well. I could have eaten it and pushed aside the mistake if it wasn't such a mess. My husband had the hot salami and it didn't have oil on the bun at all. Weird. It won't keep me from coming again, but I will definitely have them repeat "no oil" twice.
