Despite providing photo evidence, the property and booking platform refused to issue a refund, which was very frustrating. A working lock is the bare minimum for any hotel. Stay here at your own risk.

All, in an excellent location, and an extremely reasonable price for a New York City area hotel. What was special about this trip, is how they go out of their way on details. When I got into my room, I noticed that they gave me the mobility accessible room. I didn't ask for it. My late partner was the one who had the mobility accessible issues. The only thing that I can figure, is that the person who made the reservation, either saw a note in the computer or remembered us, and didn't realize that it was my partner with the mobility issues, and sadly, she is no longer with us. I know what it's like to need a mobility accessible room and not have one available, so of course I offered to move. They did not need the room for another guest, so I just kept the room for my entire stay. I'm not complaining in the least. I'm thrilled, that this hotel who gets a lot of different guests, went out of the way to specifically remember me without me, saying anything, and remember any specific issues attached to my reservation. When we checked in, we noticed they seemed damp, but we turned on the AC unit thinking it would dehumidify the room while we were at the beach, and we went out for 8hours or so. Then we returned, pulled back the covers and found that the sheets were also really damp. And the pillows were still damp. My 10 year old was super uncomfortable, so I called the front desk... "Hello, this is room 16...umm....our pillows seem really damp...is this something the other rooms are experiencing too?" Front desk clerk, "That's because the humidity has been so high and it hasn't been hot and it's because of the air conditioners making them cold. They are just cold. I felt them myself earlier." Me: "oh...Umm...ok, thank you." Nobody tell my husband we paid $195 for this room. I'm sure they have a dryer on the property. Or maybe a couple spare pillows that aren't wet? I used to work at a hotel, and I can't imagine allowing a guest to try to sleep with wet pillows and sheets. They are so wet that if you lay on them, it makes your skin wet. Both beds. It's not comfortable. Survival tip: Take the wet sheets off the bed and sleep on top of the comforter, and use your packed vacation clothes on top of the pillows to keep your hair and face dry. ORRR...take the comforters to the car and sleep there and bring them back in the morning. Right now my dress and leggings are keeping us from dying. I turned the heat up to 80 in a fruitless effort to evaporate the humidity. Then back to 72. Then back to 80. Then back to 70, because my daughter was hot. I'm sure whatever money they saved by not giving these blankets and sheets an extra 10 minutes in the dryer they have surely lost in electricity from my trying to fix this problem... We turned the AC unit off for a while, since it seemed to be doing more harm than good, but an exuberantly loud Italian guy was outside smoking and talking, while his female friend kept telling him he needs to be quieter because he was "seriously louder than loud dude" (her words, not mine). I personally enjoyed listening in on their conversation, but my family found it annoying as they were trying to sleep. Italian dude thinks that companies are hiding the cure to cancer because it would cost them money to cure it. I think that's a pretty big conspiracy theory, and he didn't have much evidence, but hey...the pillows are wet so, waddya Gonna do? AmIRight? Check in was ok. No masks on anyone, which would usually bother me but I'm vaccinated so...okie dokie. Front desk lady was terrible at recommending a restaurant. (By the way, if you want seafood, "The Shrimp Box" was expensive af but realllly good.) She didn't mention any place by name, but she was nice. Note: They no longer have half price beach tags at this motel, ever, according to her. The room was very clean. The shower is a one-piece surround, so no mold cracks. But the pillows were WET... There was no dust on any of the blinds in the 3 windows...But wet pillows ... The refrigerator and microwave are clean. But...w.e.t PILLows... There is no hair dryer. There is also no air vent anywhere, not even the bathroom. I chose this place because it looked like the closest to the beach...walking distance. But seeing so many available parking places right up by the boardwalk, I should have booked a nicer hotel with a little drive instead, and paid the $2.50 per hour to park. It may have even been cheaper. But right now, I would sell my soul for some dry sheets and a dry pillow.

You can't use a scooter in Ocean Grove but you can in Asbury Park. Tho everyone rides bikes in O.G. If u want to RENT a bike, go to the Hardware Store on Main St, right off Atlantic Ave. It's a fabulous way to ride thru all the little towns. She explained where the keys would be, the parking situation and just was very friendly and accommodating. BF and I arrived at 645 pm on Friday evening, had no problems getting into our room. There are only a few parking spots for a few guest rooms, but we were able to park on premises. There is parking less than 1/8 mile away near the beach which we would have been more than fine with. There's no street parking in Spring Lake. We loved our room, it was clean (although a little chilly) and the bathroom was perfectly sized for two people. We went to Belmar for dinner (we walked as we had just sat in the car for a few hours) and then sat outside on the huge porch before heading up to bed. We got a later start in the morning Saturday (we wanted to go apple picking in Freehold, about 30 minutes away) but I stopped at the front desk to "check in" and the waitress from the restaurant wanted to know if we wanted to eat, even though she was almost done with her shift and breakfast ended at 10 (it was 950am). We thanked her profusely, but wanted to get on the road. She even offered to give us coffee and muffins to go, which was super sweet. We had a full day and came back for bed around 830pm and there was a night manager around, which we didn't see on Friday. We decided to sit on the porch again and drink the wine we didn't finish from dinner. BF ran upstairs to get a phone charger and the night manager came out to check on me, offering tea, blankets, and was just as friendly as could be. We had breakfast there on Sunday, I was really impressed with the selection of food. I've been to BnBs that only have one or two options or they put out whatever they want to serve and call it a day. You can choose from a bunch of different options. I had an omelette and BF had the pancakes. Both were delicious and the service was excellent. Was able to check out with no problems, very quick and easy. Overall, we had an excellent stay at the inn. It is old but it's quaint and charming. BF and I were the youngest people there, but we didn't mind. The other guests we interacted with briefly were friendly. I had read some negative reviews after I had booked our stay, so I was slightly apprehensive, but we had such a different experience there. I highly recommend this charming B and B. I would definitely come back.

The bed's mattress felt like you were sleep on a mattress of wooden plank that were laying on the road. The room was dirty, I found crumbs and hairs and even some stains on the mattress. I wonder if the cleaning help has ever heard of a vacuum or a laundry machine. Then there was the bathroom. It was the size of a teacup, if you were to close yourself into the shower you wouldn't be able to walk in it you would only be able to turn in circles. The toilet was clogged when we got there and the staff didn't fix it so I had to do it myself. Finally for the room the towels smelled like bacon, I am pretty sure that they are the same towels that they use to clean the dishes from the breakfast. Speaking of the breakfast it was god awful. I got the scrambled eggs and they overcooked half of my plate while the other half was undercooked. How do you manage to do that?! Let's just say I am never coming back after this experience. Do not come here if you care for your health and want to have a pleasant vacation.

The courtyard was fantastic- plenty space for people to lounge around, has a bbq near the outskirts of the pool along with an electric fire pit . The pool was gorgeous, big, crystal clear, very relaxing and not crowded. They also have an Outback (restaurant) pretty much connected to the hotel, so you have easy access to dinner and a complimentary breakfast room for the morning. I actually would love to come down for a whole weekend next year with a group of friends. The hotel was definitely a pleasant surprise and I would be happy to return!

The hotel was not luxury but it has everything you need. Free Brrakfast, Pool, 24 HR front desk service and an on sight restaurant (currently Outback Steakhouse next door). If you are planning on staying, DEFENETLY try to book the second floor. The first floor could get humid and moldy during to the rain. If in the Middletown NJ or Highway 35 and just want a place to crash with no thrills, I recommend the Hub Middletown hotel. (There is also a sister property in Murray NJ.
