Korean sushi place inside River District. Parking is plentiful in the lots in the area. The building is new, and so is this place. Nice high ceilings, and dark wood trim. Staff are friendly and professional. No complaints. Chirashi don - pretty contains everything one needs. 3 pieces each of salmon, tuna, seared tuna, more salmon, some white fish, ebi, and tamago. Everythign was nice and fresh. Very decent size. I must say I was quite impressed. I also had a chance to try some other rolls. Very good quality. Crazy rabbit roll - California type roll wrapped in cucumber slices covered in tempura flake bits and tamago.. They're trying to be creative, but this really doesn't work. The pieces just fell apart and made a huge mess. Tasted fine though. Salmon maki, chopped scallop roll - exactly as expected. Fantastic roll - pretty tasty as well. Basically like dynamite (shrimp tempura) meets negitoro (tuna with green onion). Definitely worth checking out (they do have other locations) if one is in the area. Recommended.

I found the food is better as I like to eat Sushi and Sashimi in warm temperature. They use the tablet to put order, call waiters to help and pay bill. Both of the two locations have lot of young people to have lunch and dinner time! Nice ambiance.

    Eating batter, but not oyster.

The Sushi Mura at The River District is now a ripe-off. The 4-pc deep fried oyster went up to $13 and they probably cut up 'one' oyster with tons of batter to make it a 4-pc dish. Not only was the portion became way too small, I waited for 15+ minutes at 5pm when it was NOT busy. I had the fried oyster at both the Oak St and The River District before, and they were good. Top it off, I showed the server how little oyster was in each piece, she took another 10 minutes just to tell me that how they are with a ridiculously small discount. I expected at least a manager to come to talk to me, but not in this case. I would never go to this Sushi Mura at The River District again!!

Who doesn't like Sushi. Sushi is one of my favorite food. I came here to meet up with a friend. I ordered: spicy salmon sashimi (half order), chopped scallop roll and a dragon roll. The salmon sashimi was tasty. It was made the Korean Japanese restaurant way. It was sweet, savory and a bit spicy. The dragon roll was my least favorite. It was basically thinly sliced unagi on top of an avocado roll. Definitely not my favorite. The chopped scallop was good. It was not wow. Service was good. I managed to find free parking in front of the restaurant. There are parking lots at the location. Overall, the sushi was not bad. It was fresh. Prices are average. Portion size was ok. I will definitely be back.

It's been years since I've been to a Sushi Mura, so I thought I'd give it another chance. However I left feeling the same way I had before about their sushi; it wouldn't be my first choice for sushi. It was quite busy for dinner on a Friday night. You can put your name down and they'll text you when the table is ready. So we walked around for a bit and was seated about 15 minutes later. We ordered some unagi nigiri, ikura nigiri, chopped scallop roll, salmon and avocado roll, deep fried California roll, and prawn and sweet potato tempura. Highlights of the meal was the tempura and the unagi. Unagi nigiri- was torched but not super saucy. The pieces were quite meaty. Tempura- good portion, crisp. Although batter was a bit too thick for my liking, it remained crunchy. Salmon avocado roll- it says there's mayo in the roll on the menu. With this addition, I don't feel like it really adds to the roll. The avocado already adds creaminess. Deep fried California roll- although it had sauces on it, it didn't taste very flavourful. Rolls/nigiri- overall impression was that the rice wasn't cooked/seasoned that great. The rice was quite bland and was slightly mushy. Overall, I would say I wouldn't come back for sushi. Maybe for the tempura and other cooked items that don't include rice. They did have a lot of takeout orders, so maybe that's why quality of rice wasn't great. But I have to say service was really great. Although they were super busy, all the servers were attentive and friendly. The low stars is mostly because of the food and not because of service!

First time trying Sushi Mura at River District. Boy was it more impressive than the original location. Is it the ambiance? Maybe. Food seems to be better and well presented too. The only thing that went wrong was a server that probably didn't quite understand English and got our orders wrong. He could be new and wasn't familiar with the menu. But that won't stop me from coming because I'll come for the food .

Same good stuff as the oak location! Was happy I could call ahead for takeout and have the food all ready for me. I wish I could've swapped out the cucumbers in my dishes since I am sensitive to them, but I asked and that wasn't really an option. Overall, still glad I can get my spicy salmon sashimi here!

We were craving sushi and wanted to try a different place so came here. We got a table just before 530pm on a Friday and as we ordered, there was a lineup waiting outside so we came just in time. We ordered the On Cloud 9 roll, Crazy Rabbit roll, Okonomi yaki (half) and spicy salmon roll. The On Cloud 9 roll was really good as thr blend of smoked salmon, crab meat and chopped scallop worked well. The crazy rabbit roll was different as it didn't have rice or seaweed. It used thinly sliced cucumber to hold it together. I took a video of the okonomi yaki so had to do a screenshot of it to add here. It was okay, the edges were a little burnt. I would definitely come back and try other specialty rolls. I recommend these two rolls to try as you may like them too.

Sushi Mura had very attentive service and each dish looked pleasing to the eye. walking in had a very welcoming and inviting vibe and had great decor+ tasteful lighting ordered: -Spicy Tuna Sashimi -the aburi salmon battera -the salmon blossom roll -tuna gomae -deluxe assorted sashimi everything we ordered was super fresh, umami and sweet. every bite was addictive and was flavourful.

I know what to order from here now. The chirashi Don and gomae. There are 20 pieces of sashimi and tamago which made it a very satisfying meal. Nothing like a skimpy portion of sashimi on rice to make it disappointing. I hope they do not reduce the quantity over time. It was 22 pieces a few months ago and now it was 20 pieces. If it gets less, then there is nothing much to differentiate this place from other sushi joints. The gomae is surprisingly very tasty. I was disappointed with the small portion at the price ($4.50) but the sauce made up for it. It was a bit sweet with a fragrant sesame scent and taste. It reminded me of the peanut/sesame filling in the dessert dumplings (tang yuan) or other Chinese dessert/snack. I still wish the portion is a bit bigger. I had some nigiri and the house roll on my previous visit. They are ok, nothing special. Get the chirashi if you like lots of sashimi on rice. This shall be my go to place in future for a chirashi fix.

So I don't eat sushi but my friends wanted it . Beautifully displayed and they said it was all delicious and good . I loved my bowl of udon noodles . Very busy place. Servers were busy . Definitely a local hot spot . Hard to find parking if you don't know the area

We had 4 different types of rolls and especially I liked Under The Sea special roll. Outside: wakame, sesame seed, tobiko, special sauce Inside: cucumber, avocado, grilled salmon, mayo Sushi roll with wakame? What is special sauce? I was so curious about something new and learned very good creation for eyes and mouth. No need to use say sauce. Slimy texture and creamy taste and the special sauce (a little oily) makes perfect. It's beautiful too.

I used to go to the oak location but now that there's one closer to me, I come here instead. Ever since it opened back last summer, this has been my go to quick pick me up. COVID protocols: I've always ordered either in advance for pickup or, ordered delivery. A line is formed for pickup and it's a pretty seamless experience. My classic order: Salmon sashimi with a side of spicy sauce 5/5 Alaska roll combo 4/5 Rabbit roll 5/5 I prefer ordering the original sliced salmon sashimi just because I find that I can accommodate my family and my own preferences easily. I find the salmon sashimi cuts are thicker than other places. The rabbit roll is a unique option here and I love how crunchy it is. Final recommendation: An easy call decision that never disappoints

I also appreciate seeing where my place in line is through Yelp! First, a shoutout to the wonderful service here. Everywhere I go in Vancouver the service is great, but the server here was so friendly, helpful and efficient. The ambiance is really nice here and I love the place settings! We had a lot, so here is my breakdown: Spicy Agedashi Tofu - lightly fried tofu in a sauce that reminded me of gochuchang sauce. 7/10 Gyoza - crispy fried with a pork/veggie filling. 6/10 Karaage chicken - on the bone, but delicious nonetheless. Served with a mayo sauce. 7/10 Tuna Bomb - 10/10 this came out last because it takes longer to make. This is an absolute must-do. Crispy rice patties with a spicy tuna spread that you just place on the rice. Salmon jalapeno aburi hako - 10/10 I have been excited about this since I heard about it. The seared salmon on top of rice with a shrimp tempura running through the middle. The salmon and sauce on top melt in your mouth. Red Dynamite Roll - 9/10 this was my brother's favorite. I wanted it to be a bit spicier, but that said it's still so amazing. Mango Flower Roll - 9/10 if you like mango then you will love this. This also just melts in your mouth and that mango is just so fresh. California roll - 8/10 as great as a California roll can be! No complaints here! Rainbow Roll - I didn't get to try it, but my niece gave it a 10/10! I will definitely be coming back here again.

I made reservations about 4 months in advance. Upon arrival, one of the hostesses opened the door for us, and asked us to wait in a very ornate waiting area. We only waited a couple of minutes before another hostess seated us at the main seating area. The space is very dark, and only lit with candles while the rest of the diners trickled in. During that time they take drink orders, which is limited to sake, wine, beer and a few non-alcoholic drinks. Of note, they don't provide a drink menu, so we were a little surprised by the cost - the yuzu sake and the plum wine were $30 each. My non-alcoholic drink was $12, but a fair size. The theatrical portion started a few minutes later than the official start time - closer to 6pm. The shades lifted, the lights turned on, and the chefs introduced themselves. And from that moment on, they immediately went to work preparing our meal. They operate like clockwork to show the ingredients whole to the diners, and then preparing them, and serving them. Soon as the one dish was completed by all the diners, the next round came shortly after. Over 20+ dishes, there was very little wait time in between each. Each time a dish was served, a hostess was there to describe the dish and provided tips on how best to eat it. The food was overall was very good. I thought a few items were very average, most of them were very good, and a select few were truly outstanding. Most of the ingredients are imported from Japan, so I would imagine that it's part of the reason it's so expensive. This is definitely a splurge meal. I think half the diners at our sitting was celebrating a birthday. On the most part, the food is very good, watching the chefs at work is part of the entertainment, and the service is excellent. At the start, guests sit in silence as a black screen conceals the chefs. You see their shadows moving behind it. A bell rings, the screen lifts, and the performance begins. Dinner is a 25+ course experience priced at $325 per person. It's undeniably a splurge, but for a milestone celebration, it feels justified. The menu is seafood-forward, with many ingredients flown in from Japan. Each ingredient is presented before preparation, then carefully assembled and served directly from chef to guest. Courses arrive one by one, never rushed. The service team moves seamlessly in the background, refilling water and attending to drinks (available as an add-on) without disrupting the flow. The finale is a matcha ceremony, whisked in front of you with the same quiet precision that defines the evening. When the final sip is taken, the bell chimes once more, the chefs and staff bow, and the screens close. It was a beautifully choreographed dining experience, perfect for marking a special moment, and one I'd gladly return to for the next celebration.
