I am usually here on Thursday nights after XOSO dodgeball. The specials, which are set up by XOSO for it's participants, are good ($3 you-call-its, cheap pitchers and food specials). The service is hit (Korrine) and miss (anyone else). They also have a lot of TVs in the place and it's a pretty good spot to watch a game. They usually set up tables so people can play Beer Pong or Flip Cup (mostly Beer Pong). And they have a shuffleboard and Pool tables available for rent. However, with all those tables, league players, dining tables, "couches" (futons) for seating and the pillars set throughout the room, it can get extremely awkward and extremely bottlenecked in there. If you plan on standing and talking, you'll be constantly dancing around and moving and shifting to let a line of other people by. But that's just me, maybe I have Thursday night fatigue of the place at this point. read more

I ran into some friends here on a Saturday afternoon and decided to grab a drink. I ordered a double Jameson & Spite and it came out to be $13. WOW. I read through their menu and some of the small plates didn't look too bad and they were moderately priced. The outside patio is GREAT!!! View of the street and some other bar and on a beautiful day, it's a great way to spend your day boozing & smoking. I only saw 2 or 3 pool tables, which is weird for a place that is themed on being a billards hall. The inside was very dark in one corner and there were many TVs around to watch the game. It's spacious, but reminds me of a business meeting. Pool tables run between $7-$13 depending on what time of day you go. WTF? Seriously? With fewer blue pool tables than I can remember, this little midtown classic is one that I don't hit very often. The "vibe" of the place is a little disjointed. Pool tables in some corners. Beer pong in others. Knock off designer lighting that looks like it's trying to be classy. A DJ spinning pop music with pretty sweet dance beats. An oddly entertaining picture kiosk where you can post to Facebook. Drinking my first whiskey-diet I looked around and wondered what what going on? After my 3rd or 4th it all made sense! I went back here on a Sunday night for some food and pool. It was kind of empty so I didn't have to fight anyone for a pool table which was nice and the bartender was super friendly. I ordered the trio but they messed up my order and give me mini burgers instead. When I told them they made a mistake they were super nice about remaking my food to the trio. They apologized multiple times and was very nice about everything. The trio sliders werent as good as I remembered and I think they skimped on the toppings but I would probably still come back here for their bbq chicken pizza . read more

I have been passing by this place for years, without giving it a shot. And I'm glad that I finally did! The Blue Cue is @ the outskirts of midtown, and it's a fun place. When entering, you walk up a flight of stairs. The actual venue is very laxed. White low couches give a relaxing feeling. Also, since your on the second floor, you have a beautiful view. The place is clean, and there is PLENTY of space. The bartender was kind and friendly and we didn't wait long to get a pool table. Secret: if your going for pool, go @ 7:30 and you can avoid the rushes. The drinks we reasonably priced, and the music was old school pop, which was awesome. Why just 3 stars? This place was great.... Completely enjoyed the experience..... It was for happy hour... Maybe it is different later on.... So here are the positives.... Plenty of parking.... Cheap drinks.... Cheap beers... Cheap food.. They have several beers on tap... Full Bar... Lots of food specials... The pizzas were 4 bucks... Came out hot with plenty of toppings.... I had the opportunity to come here for a Yelp Elite event and boy was I pleasantly surprised! I was expecting typical greasy bar food, but instead the appetizers were all really good and fresh. If you go for happy hour you are definitely getting the best deal: 1/2 off appetizers and cheap drinks! There are lots of seating areas making this a great place to sit back and relax with a few friends. I came here after visiting a nearby place. I have mixed feelings about this place. The interior is nice. It looks modern, and clean. The bartenders were friendly. If you check in on your phone, you'll get free chips & salsa. The pool tables were all being used, so we didn't get a chance to play. The bathrooms weren't unbearable. There's a nice outdoor area for those who smoke, or need to get some fresh air. All the male patrons here were extremely rude, and seriously had no shame. Hitting on girls that are half your age? You should be ashamed. Not to mention, most of us don't even LOOK over 21 (although we definitely are). We couldn't even go to the bathroom without being hit on by at least 3 people. :[ I know they were free, but the chips and salsa were unimpressive. This place is OK but at night is definitely a downer. If you get there earlier like someone said previously in the comments you might have more fun but going there at night you'll end up running into dickhead security guard who only make you want to leave because of the way they're acting and talking to people. Another reason you might want to leave if you get there late is they are understaffed so you will not be able to get a drink for at least 35 to 40 minutes which definitely did not work for me and my People. read more

After talking to the bartender, they don't show fights or have any sport packages. Con: nice big screen tv but if not showing anything good, what's the point? After an incredibly gracious offer from the owner to give em another shot, I did. Went in with a girlfriend for a few drinks recently and I will say, I had an entirely different experience. Although the music wasn't really my thing, the important things were taken care of...the place was clean, the drinks were good, and the staff was incredibly nice and friendly. Blue Cue is a little nicer than your average pool hall. That being said, the food is OK, it seems more like frozen costco food that something a cook made. Don't get me wrong I love costco and the food is alright for a snack but I would like for the Blue Cue to put forth a little more effort in the food department. You do have to pay by the hour but if you are with a few people who don't mind splitting the cost it's really not bad. They and decent cues and ALWAYS have fresh chalk, which is a pet peeve for me. They have some decent drink specials on some days but they a pretty basic and a little watered down. I usually stick with draft beers, its hard to mess those up. read more

Lindsay makes a drink called the cherry like drop. I loved it!!! Thursdays are pretty busy because of the xoso league. They play dodgeball then go there to drink and play beer pong. First, in response to Ed S. - 2 pool tables? I find it hard to believe that within a few days they brought in 2 more tables, my memory recalls there being at least 4 possibly 5, don't exaggerate. I believe this place "is trying to be" a little mix of everything, and I feel it has succeeded. I went there for Taco Tuesdays but missed the tacos :-( I liked that there was no cover charge but they must make up for it with the drink prices, their only "specials" were cheap budweiser and coors. Cheap beer for cheap prices are not "specials"! The DJ did a fair job, he played most requested songs promptly and, in my opinion, put in the right non-dancing songs for cool downs. This is a really large bar venue! I've been a regular here for over a year now and love the place, but it's not the best and I know it. Drinks are cheap only at happy hour, average strength, and average price when not hh. The food? It's alright. Come for happy hour food too - $3 apps is hard to beat when you're drinking. The sliders are decent and worth your money. It's not really a place you come to play pool at, even though there are tables. The layout doesn't really support it when it gets crowded. I was really excited about this place. It's right down the street from me and I love a game of pool. My family and friends wanted to do something for my birthday, so my Mom called them and asked if they could accommodate a dozen of us to hang out, have some food and drinks, play a little pool-if it'd be easy, if we wouldn't bother anyone, that they didn't have some potentially distracting event going on. The girl told her that nothing was going on that night, that it'd be nice and quiet and a good time would be had by all. LIES! There was a big important college football game on and there were loads of people singing fight songs and leading cheers. You literally cannot look around the place without seeing at least two giant televisions. Now, look. I know that some people are into this. I'm just not a big fan of a big noisy sports bar. Which is what they should call themselves. Not a pool hall. They have four maybe five pool tables in a room that could house probably a dozen. Pool, however, takes a back seat to guess what? BEER PONG! Yes, that's right. The biggest sign of the apocalypse, the decline of western civilization incarnate, Beerpong. An activity enjoyed by those who's sense of competition rivals their willful ignorance. The service was unbelievably horrible. They thrice (three times) brought us plates of food we didn't order. They messed up on special instructions-things like putting cheese on the cheeseburger I ordered. Things like cooking the patty rare and not "burnt to a crisp" well-done. More than that, they're in a foul mood. I get it. I've worked lame jobs like that and I don't blame the employee, I blame their bosses. They must be running the place poorly if the staff clearly hates working there. They have waiters carrying orders of food right next to a pool table, I can only imagine how often whole orders have to be redone after running into a drunk person trying to sink the 8-ball. Oh, how could I forget the big support bar right next to the table that blocked a bunch of my shots? If you like football, if you like to get real drunk, if you like to yell, if you don't live in midtown-you'll probably LOVE this place. If, however, you're a self important hipster who likes to talk about Russian Literature while in a bar, you will hate it. Just another tourist trap to improve our tax base. Which is fine. I just hope when people stumble back to their cars at 2am, they keep from yelling at the top of their lungs as they pass apartment buildings. Do you Rosevillians know what an apartment complex is? We found this place completely by accident, but, boy, am I glad we did! It looks a bit sketch from the outside and even when you're climbing the stairs to the hallway leading into it, but... Ambiance was extremely chill, mixed crowd, there were a few televisions broadcasting the game placed strategically throughout, a few lounge seats, a handful of bar tables, shuffleboard type games, and, of course, pool tables! To top it off, they have a photobooth console! Food was decent and didn't break the bank. I will definitely be back for their happy hour. Biggest downside was they didn't have a huge beer selection on tap, BUT they do sell steins which is awesome (even if the selection isn't my favorite). Got a Groupon for 2 hours of pool and pizza so I decided to check this place out on a Thursday. Steady business for 4pm and the bartender seemed nice. Drinks are decent, the mac n cheese was sooooo good- cheesy, greasy, and the bacon with green onions add a nice touch. The seats are comfy, there's a nice outside deck and windows with a view. We were here on a Wednesday night and it happened to be karaoke which I love! The bartender was super cool and the DJ was awesome. He is the same DJ at the Valencia club and many others. He is consistently good at his job regardless of where he is spinning. I liked the atmosphere because it was a lot of hip hop and R and B which I was feeling that night haha. The patio was nice and spacious and we even played some pool even though I don't know how to play it's still always a good time lol read more

This place used to be alright. It had a good number of pool tables, a decent staff and it was roomy and somewhat trendy with well dressed people. They remodeled the place and added a computer MP3 playing DJ which I thought were nice touches, but for some reason the last two times I have been there the place smelled like BARF!! That really takes the enjoyment out of it. I have avoided the place since then. There is a small outdoor patio with a table which is nice. Centro's is located below, which has good food and margaritas! This is also close to Momo's and Harlows and is walking distance to the Monkey Bar. read more

As far as drinking and atmosphere go this place is pretty legit. But as far as a dining experience goes, I did not enjoy myself at all. My food took 35 minutes to come out which was a chicken sandwich and some chips and salsa. And even then they forgot the Mac and cheese that I ordered (which I shouldn't have said anything bc it was terrible - essentially velveeta mac and cheese with some bread crumbs and bacon bits). The sandwich, not surprisingly was cold and the fried were frozen from a bag and not seasoned. Even the chips and salsa weren't that great. The salsa was overpowering with cilantro, too much to like. While you think your going to a slightly up scale dive bar really your going to a over priced dirty shit hole. You walk in depending on what entrance you are allowed to come in on. There is always some gang of bikers there staring you down. You try and get a drink at the bar and you are ignored I had to wave my card around to get any attention. It's does look like I have no money I guess. Then we get our drinks and the guy calls my PBR water which I know that I order it on purpose duh! The drinks are poured strong but have no flavor. How is it my single and my BF order a double when we got the bill we got charged 4 singles for his doubles. Where my single had way more in them his doubles. It's just over priced and total crap. I could spend my $28 on a fish bowl at barwest and gotta twice the alcohol and would have tasted better which is way better! Screw this place.
