Strong drinks, not too expensive. The crowd can be a little weird at times, but they usually play good hip hop dance music. Pool hall/hip-hop/metro vibe--sort of an odd combination, but it's a great place to come and dance after starting out at any of the downstairs bars on that strip. However they just started to charge $5 recently if you get there after midnight, so now you have to be sure to get a stamp before that time. read more

I always find myself here more than I intend to be...I guess you could say it isn't the most exciting place in town, but it's an excellent go-to bar when you're looking for a solid place to go with friends. I believe it's the best kept secret for watching football on Sundays (maybe I shouldn't announce that ;) There's plenty of places to sit where you can watch multiple TV's and you don't have to show up hours early to get a spot. Although it takes some persistence they are very good about accommodating the games everyone wants to see. As the lone Chargers fan in Sacramento I appreciate this. I have been a huge fan of blue cue for years. Last night I wanted to celebrate my birthday once again with friends and family. The bearded guy displayed horrible service and was taking shots behind the bar. After waiting 20 minutes for a drink I asked if I could get service, where he then proceeded to cut me off because I was "too drunk " . When I questioned him he proceeded to threaten having me kicked out by security and refused to serve me or anyone in my party. It's really unfortunate that a place I have held so fondly for years has someone working for them who displays very little integrity in his position. This lack of respect or work ethic for regular clientele resulted in my party eaving and ultimately blue cue lost a lot of revenue and respect from me. read more

Was here and next to my table there was a poster that was advertising a special which was $8 for a pitcher of miller lite. The bill came and we were charged $14. I asked the bartender and they replied that that was an old promotion. They didn't offer to honor the price. They instead took the poster off the wall. I don't find this as an upstanding gesture and therefore will never be back. read more

My friends and I have been in a few times and have had a good time, but after tonight, don't think I'll be back. Bartender was not only rude, but made it clear he had zero interest in taking care of anyone he wasn't socializing with (which was 4 guys at the bar with the rest of the place empty at the time). By the time he actually came to help me after standing at the bar while he was socializing, I was met with attitude and he acted like he was irritated that I ordered a drink, then proceeded to talk to me like dirt when he brought me a well drink without even asking what I would like. Granted, I don't think of this place as a club but more as a social gathering for friends before we do damage everywhere else downtown. Occasionally, we get a friendly bartener dude who is a nice guy but sometimes gets caught up in talking with his customers (which isn't a bad thing) and takes awhile to get to the next customer. However, when a blond and brunette chick are working...DO NOT leave your tab open. They talk among themselves and tend forget they are at work to serve customers. This place is fantasic! i went there with my wife and her father just for drinks, but there ended up being way more to it than that. We ended up playing pool, watching the Kings game on th huuuuuge big screen behing the bar, and having some of the best burgers in midtown (not an understatement). The Good: They have a pretty good beer selection. Their food is also pretty good. The staff is very friendly. The Bad: For a pool hall, the condition of their tables and cue's is deplorable. There might be 2 cue's in the whole place that are straight. The tables that I have played on are not level. If you go on a Saturday night, there is a decent chance you are going to get into a fight. Four of us went on MLK Sunday night. It was busy with only one bartender who was polite. When bar demand seemed overwhelming, off work employees stepped in and help keep it all rolling. We quickly got a pool table, one of four (all in well used condition) but playable. Beer selection was solid with plenty of local micros to choose from. We stayed for several hours and enjoyed ourselves. Good spot and would recommend it. read more

This must be the worst place to have food and customer service. It took almost 2 damn hours to get our pizza. In addition, pizza was not even cooked all the way and the slices was never cut. I have read some of the reviews and had to laugh. I have been to this establishment on many occasions and never had but only one issue. The two bartenders sorry don't know their names but there is an african american male and a lady who has blonde hair have been fabulous. They are upbeat and very very nice and professional. The bouncers merely doing their job at the door asking for ID to protect the establishment are not rude at all as a matter of fact they are pretty nice. The drinks are great no watered down drinks and the food and service is good. The only one complaint that I do have is to get some better locks on the bathrooms nothing like you on the thrown and someone is knocking on the door I am like damn I just got in here....maybe a bathroom monitor might be an idea. Had the WORST customer service experience ever! The place was semi busy with customers, but pretty empty at the bar so my friend and I figure we would sit there and order up some food and drinks. The bartender passed us five times before asking us what we wanted to order. There were two other patrons besides us seated at the bar. He immediately says to us, "I've been ready to take your order since you got here. You just weren't ready yet" ???? Wtf? After we placed our food order, our Douche Beard bartender asked if we were going to order any drinks. We immediately said we wanted beers. We hadn't made up our minds on what beers but we decided we wanted the liter of beer each. The bartender went straight to pouring us the beer he "assumed" we wanted. I told him to hold up and he responded with, "you said beer so I start pouring whatever beer I want to pour you" both my friend and I are pretty shocked at his rudeness at this point, but we still remained calm and told him we wanted Blue moon. He then repeats what he said earlier to get his point across about us not specifying what beer we wanted. FYI, you didn't ask us what beer we wanted, we just said beers, meaning not a cocktail or shot you rude ass MOFO! I wish I had said that to him, but no, we still had our food coming so I refrained myself. I did not want any spit or something worse in our food. Terrible experience. One of the worst customer service I've experienced at this bar! Came here around 7 pm, no crowd, only 4-5 ppl at the bar, and I had to wait at least 15 minutes to get acknowledged by the bartender. Although it was a Friday night, that bar was nearly empty around 7pm. Really??? When asked what wheat beer was on tap, she clearly was not knowledgeable! Played their pool tables for a good one hour. Problem was, there pool tables were not kept in any condition at all! There's even visible indentations on the balls!! I would not call this a billiards bar! Especially since they only had 4 tables to begin with! Tried closing my transaction around 9 pm, and all I kept getting was "I'll be with you in a minute." Don't say you'll be with me in a minute when in reality you mean 15+ minutes. I practically had to shout "can I please close my tab" as I leaned across the bar at some bartenders face. This place has come a long way in less than a year. Under new ownership since early 2014, the owner has done a great job bringing this place back to a quality fun spot for the 21+. A revamped menu has a much wider variety than the previous, and the pizza is still one of the best of all the bar's in Sac. They have put some major renovations into the pool tables, new felt, rebalanced, and some updated cues so the balls don't fade toward the rails anymore. Added dart boards and a bigger TVs can really make you get lost in the evening here and it will prove to be a great night for either large groups or just a night out. The service behind the bar is always with a smile and they are pretty quick especially when busy. If you don't know exactly what you want they have daily specials and can suggest a few different options for any taste from a broad beer palate on tap, to an occasional craft cocktail if you have the pleasure of coming in when Stephen is behind the bar. The bar manager, Jason, was so helpful and accommodating. The rest of staff followed suit. They really made my life so easy and we had a great event. Thirsty Thursday you call its... count me in. Went here with a large group on a Thursday night to celebrate a birthday. We chose here for a few reasons. We wanted somewhere we hadn't been check. Cheap drinks check. Lounge areas, check. So we actually had a good time, we had a few of the pizzas the margharita, and the BBQ chicken, and both were pretty tasty, not top of the line but definitely worth five bucks. They didn't taste previously frozen to me or the rest of my party. I also am a mac n cheese fiend so had to get it here. It was tasty, a lil too peppery... I know weird pepper? It had a tasty crispy crumb topping. I would have it again. The bartenders were friendly and quick, no problems there. This place never really gets too packed. They don't play the music obnoxiously loud, so you can actually have conversations with the humans you're surrounded by. If you been to this place more than like once, it'll be boring the second go around. The annoying thing that most people experience here is ...(drum roll please).. drunk mofos straight HOG dem pool tables. There's about 4 tables, they charge by the hour, and it's waiting list to get on the pool tables. And once you get a pool table (congratulations btw), you've won, you did it, unlimited forever pool until you leave. I've been here like 6 times in my life on a Saturday, and I've never gotten a pool table. I've literally sat here on a Saturday night waiting for a pool table watching the same 4 groups of drunk mofos play pool for hours, all in the while conversating with my friends whether or not we should stay to wait for a pool table. Moral of the story: don't expect to come on a Saturday night and play pool. Otherwise, this place is a cool bar spot in midtown. read more
