First off, the location is amazing and they are certainly riding off of that. It was pretty busy looking in here and it got 4 averaged stars on yelp, so for 2 hungry locals, we thought why not? The sound of the persistent jackhammers outside these doors should've been our wake up call. Took about 10 minutes for the friendly but distant waiters to even notice us. The plates coming out for the other customers looked beautiful. But that's it: facade. My boyfriend's French toast: dry tasteless cardboard that only looks pretty. My cauliflower egg scramble with crepe and zucchini fritters for $14: a lotta money for something eh. Blue Daisy really is a 3.5 star eatery because of the food, but because of the challenging street parking, the inability to have a conversation with my dining guest due to the loudness inside the restaurant, and finally the prices seemed a bit high (for just bacon, eggs, and pancakes), I down graded this establishment. The service, though friendly and informative, no one ever came by to refill my water. I will give our server credit, though, he was busy with other customers. On the upside, my salmon Benedict was tasty. The ingredients used to prepare my dish were fresh and good quality. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly. The use of cream cheese as a spread on the muffin went well with the salmon. The zucchini hash browns were ok, a nice healthier alternative instead of potatoes. I was hoping for a little more flavor from the zucchini...maybe a little onion, or chives, or garlic...something to make my mouth pop with excitement. My roommate and I went here for brunch yesterday and I'm so glad we did. Despite the hour wait I don't have a single complaint. Service is quick and attentive. The food is fabulous. I ordered the salmon Benedict and it was one of the best Benedict's I've had in LA. Hollandaise sauce was perfect, salmon was fresh, eggs poached to perfection. My roommate ordered the eggs with fruit French toast and she cleaned her plate too. Both of the meals wouldn't have been as complete without the Bacon Bloody Mary's. I hated the service here. Food: the food was okay. Nothing outstanding. We got the savory crepe with chicken and mushroom and smoked salmon croissant. For the price, it wasn't worth the money. All basic to the taste. Not anything I would recommend to a good friend. Ambiance: I liked the restaurant. It's small and intimate with adorable interior design. I had the scramble and the tomatoes were flavor bombs and my moms pancakes she got were delightful. By the time our meals were served, I was RAVENOUS. As I took my first bite, I realized I made a mistake coming here-- my food was cold. The last thing I want my eggs to be are cold :/ I was also surprised by the portion sizes! They are tiny, y'all! I was expecting to feast like a queen on my birthday but nah, I was munching like a peasant. In addition to the small portion size and cold food, my dish was bland. The wonderful thing about eggs is you can season them pretty much however you wish, but mine didn't taste like anything. Well, it did taste like the goat cheese that accompanied it on the dish, but that was it. I had grand expectations for my meal, and unfortunately was let down. Visited Blue Daisy as the previous two restaurants we visited were stating a 30-40 minute wait. Don't know why I have never tried this place having past it so many time. For starters we had the figs & goat cheese and burrata which were just delish! Definitely sizable starters but thankfully the Piti pot that my boyfriend ordered and the Mahi Mahi I ordered were reasonable in size that we didn't feel completely overwhelmed. The presentation of the food was just cute as well (see photos). And for everything we had it came to $75 (including tip) which I thought was incredibly decent. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is the Mahi Mahi could have done with a little more seasoning (I found both the fish and the vegetables somewhat a little bland). My vegetables also weren't completely cooked through so it was a little tough on the teeth. And our server (nice as she was) didn't bring us the dessert menu I had asked for and just came back with the bill. Which is a shame as it looks like they had a solid choice of sweets on there that I would loved to have given a try. All in all though great little place. read more

Turkish coffee has the perfect amount of bitterness. Both my friend and I loved it. However, the service wasn't very good. Mostly because I think I love the sweetness of jam - but it was a nice wrap up to an otherwise savory meal COULD BE BETTER: - The eggs Benedict with mushroom and spinach would have been great, except there seemed to be scattered bites (maybe every 1 out of 4) that were extremely salty, as if someone has forgotten to mix in the salt evenly, or if they accidentally sprinkled too much salt. Maybe this was just an isolated incident. I'd be willing to give them another chance on this - The eggs Benedict came with a side salad that had pickles, tomato, cucumber and pickled green beans. Whatever leftover salmon they had from weeks ago they smashed it into a ball and added dozens of capers to mask the rotten fish. We started to get a little antsy when our food still hadn't arrived 30 minutes later. When it finally did come about 40 minutes after ordering, the portions were small and the chicken shawarma wrap came with the wrong side. The food is excellent and as evidenced by the crowds everybody knows it. We both enjoyed crepes for breakfast. I must say, they do them justice.
