    Crab cakes were Yummy

Went here for dinner last Friday. The Dinner specials were delicious. Can't wait to go back for breakfast.

We were looking for a breakfast before hitting Lido Beach and ended up in the Blue Dolphin. Place was almost full but we managed to get a booth just before they started taking names for a waiting list. The breakfast menu is standard fare, to be conservative we stuck to the Blue Dolphin special - 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, bacon and home fries. A young man was working the booths and he kept busy taking orders, delivering food and refilling coffee cups. Breakfast came out quickly and it was good. We finished and vacated as the line was growing outside....decent place if you're in St Armand's circle - it's a solid breakfast spot.

We walked into the Blue Dolphin on a Saturday, and it seemed like the perfect spot for brunch. We were seated right away at a booth (for a party of two). The waiter was quick to take our orders. We got corned beef hash, fruit, blueberry pancakes and a breakfast wrap/burrito with home fries. The blueberry pancakes were fantastic! We ate every bite. No crumbs left. The corned beef hash was just okay. It needed to be crisped up a little more. This dish needed improvement. The home fries were perfectly crispy and delicious. The breakfast burrito was solid, and I added some hot sauce to give it an extra kick. We were happy with our meal! It was a good brunch and just what we wanted to start the beach day. I would recommend coming here.

Great breakfast food before or after the beach! Every girls trip we are eating here!! The waffles are the best I have ever had!

This place is perfect before or after the beach in the morning. They make the best waffles ever!!! Every girls trip we eat here.

Hubby and I visited the cafe on Longboat Key before. They opened another one here at St Armand's Circle. Here, the cafe is a lot smaller. We figured, why not try it? We came here twice for breakfast. We shared the Lox and bagel platter on the first day, plus two eggs and a fruit plate. On the second day, I had the Huevos rancheros, and Hubby had eggs and ham. The breakfast was good, but we both thought the lox and bagel were a joke because of how small the lox was served with the bagel. My Huevos rancheros were ok but lacked some ingredients, such as salsa. However, the overall experience wasn't bad; it was not what we expected compared to the original Blue Dolphins cafe. The service was excellent!

This place is way too cold to enjoy your food. They advertise the place is on the water and it's not. Food was less than average.

The moment you enter, you are embraced by a cascade of twinkling fairy lights that shimmer like stardust against a twilight sky. Fresh flowers bloom in every corner, their sweet fragrance mingling with the comforting aroma of steeping tea and freshly baked cakes. The menu is a delightful symphony of flavors, with each dish crafted as if by fairy hands. The tea sandwiches are dainty yet satisfying, their ingredients so fresh they seem to have been gathered from a mystical garden just moments before. The salads are vibrant and bursting with life, each leaf and garnish adding to the overall tapestry of flavors. And, of course, the cakes! The cakes are tiny works of art, each bite a burst of sweetness that leaves you floating on clouds of pure bliss. Even the soups, served in charming little teacups, are more than just a meal--they are comfort and warmth, a gentle embrace on a slow afternoon. To say that the owner of this enchanting establishment is just as magical as the place she's created would be an understatement. Kathryn is the heart and soul of this fairy-tale haven, a living embodiment of the kindness and beauty that fills every corner of her restaurant. Her presence is like a gentle breeze, warm and soothing, making everyone who walks through the door feel instantly at home. Her generosity is evident not just in the thoughtful touches that make each visit special--like the fresh flowers that greet you at every table or the extra care taken to ensure each dish is perfect--but in the way she treats each guest like an old friend. There's a sweetness in her smile that makes you feel as though you've known her for years, and a gentle warmth in her words that wraps around you like a comforting blanket. She moves with a quiet grace, always attentive, yet never intrusive. Whether she's offering a kind word, making sure your tea is just right, or sharing a delightful story, she does so with a lightness that leaves you feeling cherished and cared for. It's clear that this restaurant is more than just a business to her--it's a labor of love, a place where she pours her heart into every detail. In a world that often feels rushed and impersonal, the owner's presence is a reminder of the beauty of kindness and the power of a generous spirit. She has created not just a restaurant, but a sanctuary--a place where time slows down, and you can savor not just the food, but the warmth of human connection. To dine here is to be touched by her sweetness, and to leave with your heart a little fuller, your day a little brighter. Thank you, Kathryn, for creating such a beautiful safe haven for all who enter. As long as this establishment is standing, I will be there in attendance.
