Owner is rude and food is mediocre. I have been here multiple times because I like that it is quite and you can carry on a conversation without yelling across the table, but that is because there is rarely more than a couple people in there at a time. The owner stands behind the bar and yells across the room if we would like something to drink. We said yes, can we see a menu. 10 minutes later, no menus and she yells across the room again asking if we have decided what we want. Apparently you have to order a drink to get a menu. 20 minutes later, finally a menu and 10 minutes later she took our order. Again, this place is not busy, there was no more than two other parties in the place. Any food that is fried, fries, onion rings, even hamburger buns are always burnt. As much as I like the idea of supporting a small, local business, this is the one to walk away from. read more

My friend and I rode our bikes there last night to avoid any drinking/driving related issues. ;) Melinda was so friendly and welcoming. It felt like we were in her home. The bar is quaint with upscale decor. It's like you are at Cheers but much nicer looking. The food: we ordered the Brisket Fries. They were amazing!!! I have NO idea what they cook those fries in but they are delicious. The fries were loaded with tender, tasty brisket, cheese and baked beans on the bottom. We also ordered Pizza. The crust was thin, fresh and crisp.. no soggy pizza here. Thank you Melinda for turning our 'Taco Tuesday" into a Brisket Fries Tuesday! Everything was delicious, the mac n cheese was pretty mindblowing, had the prime rib, brisket, beans, spinach, chicken, the mini muffins, coleslaw, mashed potatoes and I would have to say everything was great, high quality. I got lucky and our boss took us here for dinner and we had a party of 15 and the service was fast and everything was right off the grill and amazing. Went here on a whim with my mom for lunch one weekday. It's in a quiet little business complex but once I got in, i was pleasantly surprised. A decent bar list/craft selection. Brisket fries! French fries topped with baked beans, chunks of awesome brisket, and melted cheese. Yeah, that tasty treat is reason enough to check this place out. It's reason enough for me to go back. My husband and I went on Valentine's Day, and there was no wait, which was nice. The dining room is small, and there aren't many tables, but they were all full. The food took a really long time to come out, and there was only one employee working the floor. She was basically wearing pajamas (black leggings, Ugg boots, and a hot pink tank top- classy.) Poor thing was hostess, waitress and busser all rolled into one. And she didn't do a very good job at any task. She was sweet enough though, and apologized for the wait. At the end of the meal she came by with a carnation and a complimentary glass of champagne for me and all the other ladies in the room. It was a nice touch, and I forgave her for taking forever and coming to work in pjs. Free booze and yummy food cancels out a lot. I hear they have a pretty sweet happy hour, but I haven't checked it out yet. They also have coupons on restaurant.com, so there's another perk. My first time ever going to Blue Fire Grill, I was actually recommended here by my two co workers; so I decided to go for my birthday to try it out (something different). As soon as we walked in, empty; we wait to get seated and they tell us to sit anywhere we please, so we do. We waited approximately 5 minutes to get our drinks ordered, and so we kept looking at the menu to see what I was going to order, I end up ordering The Burger, with a house salad, and macaroni and cheese. Food wasn't as good as I expected, it was quite tasteless; I would figure it would be more tasteful since its about $12 and they take a very long time to bring it out to you. This little spot is right around the corner from my husband's office, so we popped in for a quick happy hour one afternoon when I was working out that way. $2 beers, $5 appetizers - why not? The beer was cold - that's really all it needs to be, right? Not a great selection but they had what we were looking for so OK. We ordered onion rings and fried pickles and both were alright, nothing to write home about. I came to this conclusion about the Blue Fire: It gets the job done. I meet the owner Melinda while helping her with some real estate business, and she was such a pleasure to work with I decided to take her up on her offer to dine at her restaurant. I took my entire family, and we were all very impressed. The menu is barbeque, and it was very tasty. Get the barbeque Nacho's - they are the best! We had so much food left over, and the bill was lower than we expected. Great atmosphere for families, but I could also see taking my wife there for a date night. read more

My wife and I have seen the coupons in the local flyers and the Chino Hills Champion. We finally decided to try it. I can say I don't think there is any need to go back to Lucille's. The food was excellent, the service was attentive, and the price was reasonable. I had the ribs and brisket and my wife had the tri-tip. All were flavorful and tasty. The mac and cheese was fantasic and the cole slaw was very good (not the overly "mayo" type, more of a vinegar style). We are looking forward to going back to try the brunch or rib night. read more

Went there for dinner last night. I like the remodel it is a big improvement over what it was. I ordered the steak, mac n cheese and cole slaw. Hubby had BBQ chicken. The served me the biggest steak ever but it was not cook properly and I had to return it a few times to get it medium. In fairness it would of taken a very long time to cook properly as large as it was. The should not offer such a large steak. The mac was not good at all. Coleslaw was awesome just like my mom makes. I hope this is just working out the new bugs because the owners seemed very nice.. but food on a 1-10 scale I have to give it a 4-5. The BBQ chicken was good said my hubby. So I've driven by this restaurant many of times and never knew what kind of place it was. Decided to check it out on Yelp and then decided to see what all the good reviews were about! OMG, this food was AMAZING!!!! I decided to have the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Baked Beans and Mac n Cheese! So my food comes out and it's smells delicious. The pork was perfect, not dry, seasoned perfectly and the BBQ sauce made it that much better. Then I try the Mac n Cheese, it's like the mac n cheese you get from grandma's house. Creamy, cheesy goodness!! All the food was great! It's like having grandma in the kitchen cooking you up a yummy meal! I will definitely be back to try more food, I just don't know what to try next! Went here last night. I had the tri tip, with macaroni & cheese and cole slaw. The trip tip was good. However, the smokiness of the BBQ was too sublte. The BBQ sauce was very good. The portion of tri tip was about 1/2 what you would get at Woodranch, for the same price and the macaroni and cheese was very bland. The cole slaw was good. All in all, the food was OK. However, I think the next time I'm craving BBQ tri tip, I will head over to Woodranch BBQ. read more

Mac n cheese.... Don't second guess, just try it. It was so delicious and creamy. This place is a little hidden and hard to find only because it's in what seems to be an industrial area. I always pass it and then have to make a u-turn and go back to it. I ordered the tri-tip with a side of mac and cheese and coleslaw. The tri tip was stacked high and took up a third of my plate and was smothered in barbecue sauce. First and foremost as a small business owner I always appreciate when we find an awesome local place to eat and even happier when we get fabulous customer service. My husband was craving some BBQ at 8:50pm on a Sunday. So of course all I could think of was your typical famous daves or lucilles (which neither are my favorite). So I started yelping and found this Gem. It is in an industrial area so quick to miss unless you are very precise on your maps. I had seen it driving home from the shoppes but never eaten here. We thought we'd call because it was an hour from their closing time. Mind you we pulled up and it was empty. A lady answered and what I would expect was someone saying "actually we are closed" and I totally would have understood, because who can whip up awesome BBQ for just 2. It wouldn't be worth it right? But she said " we are serving food for another 30 min please come in"... she greeted us with nothing but kindness. Come to find out she was the owner (which we didn't catch her name but next time). She sat and chatted with us and made us feel very welcomed. Now let me get to the food!!!!! Holy crap it was amazing and very well priced. The Food: I ordered a country chicken sandwich and ended up getting a chicken salad sandwich (negative points already). The bread was hard and the chicken salad was slathered with entirely too much mayo. The blueberry muffins were hard, cold, and a bit salty. The salad was just average. The Service: I went with the coworkers for lunch . So explain to me why it takes nearly 45 minutes for our food to get to us? That is totally inexcusable especially when there was only one other customer! It took about 15-20 minutes just for the salad and seriously it's just salad. That's not that hard to put together. They also ran out of food and iced tea for my coworkers. How do your run out of food? There were no apologies and the waitress had to nerve to tell us to phone our order in next time. Seriously? You should be expecting customers during lunch time. Not everyone is blessed with long lunch breaks. Overall: I'm a pretty patient guy but this had to be the worst dining experience I have ever had. Went here once and the brisket was pretty good. Went a second time and a guy took our drink order but came back and told me and my dad, plus the table behind us that it would be a half hour before the owner would come take our order.
