Bf and I came here for our weekly date night, and there's not much remarkable to say about it. Run of the mill chain Tex mex that tasted exactly as one would expect. My steak fajitas were $26, but you get a lot of food (including a HEAP of Spanish rice and lots of tortillas) for the price. It was all just alright, nothing bad but nothing to brag about. A few minor gripes: one being that our waiter was decently attentive but I was never offered a refill other than a to go cup of my drink (which I took), and the other being that it was INCREDIBLY loud in there. Bf and I were sitting across from each other and eventually gave up on conversation because we had to yell to be heard. Don't go here if you're expecting good Mexican food. The chicken fajitas were incredibly bland with barely any seasoning on the chicken, and the vegetables were still practically raw when they made it to the table. Even the sides lacked flavor and tasted under seasoned. The guacamole was the only thing on the plate that actually tasted fresh and well made, and the margarita was good too, but that wasn't enough to save the meal. For the price, I expected way better quality and much more flavor overall. That said, the servers were great. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and provided really good service throughout the meal, which I appreciated. We are on the search for a new texmex joint since our favorite place has closed. I don't think this place will be it. Immediately, the salsa that came with our chips was very bland. Nonetheless, my girlfriend and I ordered our usual items, steak fajitas for her and chile rellenos for me. The fajitas were alright and generously portioned. The Chile rellenos were very strange. They tasted only of lime juice, I couldn't make out the chicken, poblano, or cheese except for their texture. The poblanos were so cooked that they became slime as I tried to pick them up with my fork. The chicken and cheese were chicken and cheese. First time coming here. I'm not big on Tex-Mex, but my wife wanted to try it, so we gave it a shot. I ordered the Quesabirria tacos and she got the al pastor taco. Our waitress, Tiffany, was super patient and helpful. She answered our questions without rushing us and checked in just the right amount not too much, not too little. Some servers hover too much, but Tiffany had great timing. The place looks nice. TVs around the bar showing sports, good layout. My Quesabirria tacos were solid I'd give them an 8 out of 10. The al pastor tacos, though, not the best I'd say a 5 out of 10. I grew up eating al pastor tacos in Inglewood Ca, so im very pickywith my streettacos. We also had churros. My sister came into town from New Jersey where the Tex Mex is lacking and we wanted to try somewhere we hadn't been yet and Blue Goose did not disappoint. We got margs, fajitas, enchiladas, and the Birria. We came on a Friday night so they were busy but we were seated in the patio as we requested quickly and our server was great. Came here with a few friends for a book club and it was our first time. Not impressed, I gotta say. To get things started, you could tell that our server did not want to serve our table. We were a party of 6 or 7, and not everyone ordered a full meal. Some of us did, and others ordered drinks and appetizers to share. He seemed to be put off by it. Once we got our food no one checked up on us until we asked for the check. Food wise, the chips and salsa were amazing (hard to mess that up). The birria tacos, however, did not hit. Came for brunch while visiting Dallas. We were originally going to visit a diner in the same plaza but this place was poppin and we couldn't resist some nachos. We got a table outside and our waiter was nice. I ended up getting the quesabirria tacos which were absolutely delicious. They were hot, cheesy, loads of meat and the consome was delicious. My husband got the mixed chicken & beef fajitas and really enjoyed them. They came with freshly made corn tortillas. Our family also got tacos and a breakfast plate. Each time I go to Blue Goose even when it is busy the wait isn't extremely long. I always get beef nachos. I know that sounds basic, but oh well, I like what I like. The nachos are amazing they aren't greasy and the portion size is generous. I also get the "Diablo" which is the best Frozen Margarita I've ever had. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

We like this place. Usually go once a week. But this time wasn't a great experience. We were seated quickly and served quickly. Then service failed. We didn't get our charro beans with our meals. Waitress did a quickly fly-by midway through the meal but rushed away before we could say beans. Never checked back. Didn't bring another basket of chips to go with our $9 bowl of queso. Never came back to ask if we would like another margarita (we did). And after we finished we had to send a runner to get her to bring us our check after we waited 20-25 minutes. This was a post-lunch meal, and the place wasn't busy. To recap: Our enchiladas and lunch fajitas were fine. Just no beans, no chip refills, no margaritas refills, long wait for check. Still left 19% tip, and we will return since the mediocre service hopefully was rare. read more

We visited Blue Goose Cantina around 9:00pm as a family of four, and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience from start to finish. The restaurant wasn't busy, which made the lack of service even more frustrating. We waited about 15 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. After ordering queso and tortillas as an appetizer, a different staff member brought the queso out, and it was cold. We then had to flag down another waiter to ask for tortillas because they still hadn't come out 10-15 minutes later, and our waitress was nowhere to be found after dropping off our drinks. Our food eventually arrived, again delivered by someone else, and it was just mediocre. The only time our waitress came back was when we asked for a to-go box and the check. She brought the check but waited another 5-10 minutes for that and forgot the to-go box. Another waiter (who had already helped us earlier) ended up stepping in to take care of us and close out our tab. We also asked for a to-go cup that never came, so we ended up leaving without it. Overall, our waitress essentially brought drinks and made minimal effort the entire time. To make things even more uncomfortable, there was a strange and unprofessional situation in the restroom. While I was waiting for my 10-year-old daughter, a staff member came in saying she was "looking for someone," left, and then returned with the hostess announcing "I found her!" The two then went into a very small stall together. It was odd, unprofessional, and didn't feel appropriate in a customer space. It really felt like there was little to no management presence or accountability. That said, I do want to give credit where it's due because there were a couple of staff members who were clearly working hard and seemed to genuinely care. Unfortunately, the overall experience was frustrating enough that we wouldn't return. Better training, supervision, and attention to guests would go a long way here. To be fair, this wasn't our first disappointing visit. The last time we came, about six months ago, it wasn't nearly this bad, but it still wasn't great, and I said I wouldn't return. We decided to give it another try, and unfortunately, this visit confirmed that decision. I absolutely love this place. I've come here with the girls, my husband, work friends, and anyone in between. This staff is one of the best staff I have been around. They make every occasion enjoyable. I have been waited on by many of the greats - Jesus, Carlos, Hera, and Keenan. I consistently request any of these amazing people anytime I go. The food is terrific. It's been hard to find even a halfway decent Tex-Mex place that doesn't taste generic. I truly love going here with a desire to try something new each time. I'm allergic to a majority of the food, but they are accommodating, and it's kind of worth the pain sometimes... Those servers and the food make the return so worth it!! read more

The service was exceptional! There was always someone available to help with any questions I had. The menu provided a lot of options. I decided to try the Fajita Combo. What I liked most about the fajitas was amount of meat I received. There was plenty of delicious beef and chicken, on a sizzling platter with bell peppers and onions. The combination comes with a side of delicious Spanish Rice and Beans, guacamole, fresh pico de gallo, and cheese. But wait, I'm not finished, the platter comes with fresh tortillas. The tortillas are freshly made inside the restaurant. The atmosphere is Tex Mex casual. I love that the outside is dog friendly and picturesque. This is a weekly stop for us. I grew up going to the original one down on lower Greenville. I'm sad they closed it down however, I'm very happy I have one 10 minutes away. The food is consistently very good and true to Tex-Mex. We usually sit in the bar and the service is fantastic. Took the family of 4 (two toddlers) here and everyone loved the food and relaxed atmosphere. Very good, clean, quality and we especially enjoyed the fresh taste, particularly of the tortillas. The kids enjoyed the chips and queso, plus the kids meals were great, and are VERY well priced. After all they eat very little, and should pay less! The server also walked our kids to the kitchen and gave them a ball of dough to play with, so the kids had a great time overall. We appreciated that. We ate the fish tacos, which were to die for.
