3.0 stars. It wasn't bad but also wasn't good. The service was pretty good though. Me and my friends think this place is probably more of a bar to get a drink than sit down and eat type of place. As with most Mexican restaurants they bring you chips and salsa. Their salsa was flavorful and chunky. I like that. I ordered the taco salad with fajita chicken meat. I've had a lot better elsewhere. The taco bowl was kind of soft, not sure if they refrigerate it or something., and the salad was a little smaller than what I'm used to. On the bright side: their ranch was pretty good. They brought us complimentary sopapillas:-) It was very nice. Great dessert to end our meal. Sopapillas were coated with cinnamon and sugar and a drizzle of honey and whip cream:-) I really don't know if I would come back. First thing ... Staff was outstanding. Five stars if I was writing about the staff alone. Table was sticky I think with salsa residue, and we asked for a clean up but I think the hostess forgot so we ended up wiping it down ourselves with wipes I had in my bag - Score having a toddler so I had some wipes in my bag- Food quality wasn't there unfortunately in a market with a lot of tex-mex options. My hubby got some serious stomach issues from a quesadilla which doesn't normally happen. The biggest concern we saw was the beer cases lined up outside of the bar along the other side of the wall. We watched as a kid no more than 4 nearly grab bottles out of the boxes a few times as they were getting up to either use the restroom or leave. As well there was a door to the patio that someone could have slipped in and grabbed a beer easily undetected. I'm sure there is some rule against having the beers so easily accessible but we played it to that they had just gotten a delivery and hadn't put it behind the bar yet. I'm sure I might give them another shot at some point, given its the only texmex place I know of in a mile proximity to the mall and movie theater a but after first visit I'm not going out of my way for it. read more

He deserves to be the lead in Customer Service and train your staff and/or new hired staff with of course a raise because he will be taking on a bigger responsibility. There was a lady with blue hair that was super nice. Bartender was also friendly. Those two are the only reason for the two stars. The nasty, old lettuce in the salad photos speak for themselves. More evidence of do not care. The thirteen nuggets of charred beef jerky on my salad ("fajita I guess"), were weird. You are going to make someone actually sick. Had a ladies brunch with me ladies and we originally wanted to try Love and War, but it was (permanently?) shut down, so Blue Goose was next door and sounded better than fast food. We sat at the outside bar patio which was beautiful and comforting. Loved that they had big screen TVs so that I could watch my college football. Go Big Red!! The bees were a bit annoying but hey, it's outdoors in Texas. The food was your typical Tex Mex with the typical price. Chips and salsa were good. Enchiladas were good, rice and beans were average. It was fine. Nothing spectacular but not total trash either. Margaritas were fine. Not badly priced. Love the Blue Goose in Highland Village, but won't return to this location. 5 people standing at the hostess station @ 11:30 on a Sat so I'm thinking "they are on their game". We were seated quickly so that was a plus. Woman delivering chips & salsa couldn't be bothered to speak after we both thanked her - she looked irritated. She had one basket of chips and 2 salsas to deliver because no one else needed anything / tables were still empty. The chips were crushed. A handful on top were ok, the rest were smashed. Server took our order quickly. She was one of the 5 at the hostess stand. She walked off only to return to clarify our drink orders. Queso was not the same that we are used to. Also $9 for a very small amount. Cheese is expensive, I get that part, but when you use a large bowl, and fill it 1/3 that makes it look even worse. Was not impressed, and we didn't finish it. Server didn't return until our food was dropped off, and it wasn't complete so she left to go get the incomplete item. Food was delicious, and the sides were portioned as usual, entree was not. Wouldn't have known this except we have been regulars at another location for many, many years. Server didn't return again until we were finished with our meal, and she bought the ticket. Never offered a drink refill or checked in. Didn't even breeze through silently. Because she was visiting with her pals at the hostess station. Management at the Highland Village location should probably be engaged to help with training. This location is lacking. No one likes to be served by someone that seems miserable (chips) or inattentive (server). Portion size being off might have had to do with kitchen staff? Not sure. Let me tell you, Blue Goose Cantina did NOT disappoint! I went with my "typical" Tex-Mex favorites: House-made Top Shelf Queso- A heaping portion of warm, delicious queso, loaded with STEAK, GUAC, SOUR CREAM, PICO! With a huge bag of freshly made tortilla chips, this queso, you gotta try! My entree was sooo good! I tried their Pulled Chicken Enchiladas-SMOTHERED- in (my favorite) sour cream sauce; DELICIOUS! I went ahead and added dessert to my order: Hot, Fresh, Mini Sopapillas! With a generous dusting of sugar, cinnamon, and fresh honey for dipping, these sopapillas are the perfect addition to your meal. I ordered from DoorDash, and was pleased with the quality packaging, which allowed my food to arrive safely to my home....And to top it all off, I didn't even break the bank! I've been here a few times and I like this location a lot. They definitely outdo the Highland Village location in convenience, parking, food and quality of staff. I've only been here for work lunches, so I can only comment on the lunch menu, service and food. It's chain Tex-Mex so nothing is going to blow you away, but it's a really solid lunch. I've tried more items than I can remember and haven't had anything that I didn't like. In comparison to the Highland Village location I really like the staff here. Both servers and management are friendly and engaged. Our orders have always been correct and I like giving my business to these people. Location wise, they are so convenient to get to! You can access immediately from 26, 2499 or Grapevine Mills Circle. Their parking lot is a very decent size and accommodates their large crowds well. The other chain Tex-Mex is Fuzzy's across the street, so it's a no brainer if you are in the area. The only feedback I would give is that several lunches have had slow food delivery, but I can attest to seeing the staff hustling and working hard while juggling big crowds. When it's just me and my team, we call in an order and it's always ready when they say it will be. When my boss is in the group, we tend to dine in and that's when I find it slow. To be fair, I always have a lot of work waiting for me, so that's probably just making me impatient. I would still recommend calling in an order if you are in a time crunch, their menu online includes pictures and prices and is very easy to use. Their queso is pretty good for a chain and I like their rice, quesadillas, enchiladas and tacos. I've had several selections of each and have found them all to be good lunch choices. There was one order of brisket tacos that was a bit on the watery side, so not executed 100%, but still had good flavor. I know their burritos and nachos are also hits with my team. I think my favorite would be their quesadillas though. They have a good filling ratio without stuffing it, I don't care for overstuffed quesadillas, takes away from enjoying the tortilla! The best thing is their prices are GREAT! You get a good portion for lunch between $7-11. The $10-11 items are their pick 2 and pick 3 combos which I think is a really good deal for that price. The lunch menu may be limited compared to the dinner menu, but I promise you the huge selection beats out 80% of lunch menus, you'll definitely find something you like. You got to get their sopapillas, they are way above chain quality. They are smaller squares, which makes them really consistent. I love consistency, and they are cheap too. You get 4 in an order, covered in cinnamon sugar and served with whipped cream. Whipped cream! We love those bad boys. If you get full on queso and your entrée, split an order with someone, it's a pleasant end to the meal. For me, the value is always about the price and portion, this place delivers during lunch time. I think it's great that they serve lunch 11-4pm, that's 5 hours to get a cheaper price!! When I walked in, there were maybe 7-9 tables with customers which, to me, is already a red flag. Nonetheless, I sat down and waited for my company. I got a mango margarita on the rocks, and it was extremely watered down. I was super disappointed. The salsa and chips were pretty good and probably the best thing I had that day. For my meal, I got the fish tacos (appetizer). They were extremely bland and just not good, in my opinion. I tried to add salsa, I tried the dipping sauce and nothing. The food is real good, and the staff is pretty nice. The only reason I am not giving this 5 stars is because: 1) The restaurant floor is not super wheelchair accessible. I know that there's only so much that can be done for space, but the tables are so close together that there is not much room for maneuvering when the restaurant is full. This isn't a giant qualm for me, but just a thought. 2) The hosts stand around and do nothing. I use a wheelchair, and while I normally prefer to open doors myself, it should be expected that hosts make an attempt to open the door for customers. There were four kids up there working as host the night I came with my family, and not one made any attempt to help me with the door (which I had struggled with a little, to be honest). Upon leaving we experienced the same thing, and no goodbye. I'm usually not picky about this sort of thing, but it seems a bit lackluster. My husband, three small kids, and I were vacationing for Fathers Day in Grapevine, Tx. On our first night we went to the Blue Goose Cantina for dinner. The moment we walked in we were met by not so friendly hostess which can be over looked. We decided to sit outside because there was a small wait for seating inside. The hostess started to walk outside without saying "this way" or "follow me" no which didn't seem too concerning for me since they weren't friendly to begin with. I just laughed it off and so did my husband and we followed. As we were following behind the hostess, she dropped one of our silverware sets on the ground. We watched intensely after to see how she handled it. The hostess picked up the silverware and kept it in a separate hand and then as we got to our table she combined her hands of silverware sets and rolled them and laid them ALL on the table. I was shocked! So I asked her if she could please get us another set since she dropped the one and she looked annoyed and said nothing and grabbed one set and walked away. My husband and I looked at each other and said there is no way she knew which one she dropped because we didn't even know which one for sure. So I took all of them in and went to the hostess stand and asked if they could all please be replaced. When another hostess came and brought the silverware back again she dropped them off without saying a word and seemed inconvenienced or annoyed. Both my husband and I looked at the silverware sets without picking them up and they were obviously covered in dirt! The silverware sets were covered in dirt not in a way that was natural but in a way that was obvious that they had to have been individually rolled in dirt! At this point we were so shocked by the service received that we felt it was only safe for us to leave. My husband took our three SMALL kids to the truck while I stayed and asked to speak to a manager. I politely told the two very nice ladies I spoke to and they were more than apologetic and wanted us to stay but I politely declined out of fear of even more retaliation from the hostess and because we already buckled in the three kiddos and just wanted to cut our losses. I worked my entire time through college in the food industry and have NEVER come across such disregard for other human beings... especially children! I would never give a family with three small kids dirt covered silverware because they asked for new ones. The purpose of a hostess is to greet and make the customers feel welcomed the moment they walk in and seat them.. none of those were accomplished successfully. All three of the young ladies working their were dismissive and unwelcoming not to mention the appalling behavior as far as my families silverware. Not too mention during a time of a worldwide pandemic. Proper sanitation in a public restaurant I'm sure is the top priority in any establishment and that was not it. Walking by this place on a late Sunday afternoon. Stopped in for something to eat. Called a pilot friend at the hotel and he came by. Sat at the bar. The bartenders are great friendly guys. The chips are thin and crispy. And the salsa is the best I have had in a while. Great way to start. I ordered the Dirty Bob, a mesquite grilled fajita chicken (or steak available) chimichanga. It is a large flour tortilla stuffed with fajita meat, refried beans & cheese. Fried & smothered in a savory ranchero sauce with a side of guacamole & pico de gallo. Me and my mom went for brunch at Blue Goose Cantina and arrived 40 minutes after it opened, wondering why it was so empty. I got the Blue Goose BLT and my mom got the Chili Ques, My Blue Goose BLT was so amazing the bacon was crispy and cooked good and the bread was perfectly toasted for a BLT and the potatoes were cooked and made so good. I would give Blue Goose a 5 star rating but my moms Chili Ques was so nasty, barely any meat and the chips were so stale, and her strawberry mimosas tasted like Alkaseltzer. After reading reviews, I was hoping for better. I walked in and sat at the bar. Business was slow. Service was unwelcoming and bar keeps were rarely available. So unfortunately we had less of an enjoyable experience yesterday evening. First of all, we watched someone carry a plate of food to a table and his thumb was actually in the food on the plate. Then, along the same lines, we watched the bartenders (3 males) handle glasses and to-go cups on the lips of the glass. Okay , so not all places are perfect but gross! That was bad enough but we then watched a manager (I assume - tall male) be very disrespectful to a guest. She was clearly upset and, instead of trying to diffuse the situation, he only made it worse with his attitude which was very defensive and childish. Maybe it's that attitude and lack of leadership that makes the staff not care how they handle the customers food. Def understaffed but she had a pretty crummy attitude as well; the only real attention any customers got was when she flirted with a couple of underaged dudes trying to get a drink.
