It seems every time I visit downtown Anderson, new restaurants and businesses are popping up. One of the latest additions...Shucks Oyster Bar. Shucks is not a restaurant that serves oysters. They are truly an oyster bar. Raw oysters, steamed oysters or specials (like Oysters Rockafeller) - they've got them. They have a few other side items, like a delicious and spicy crawfish corn bread, but they're obviously focusing on what they want to do best. So...the oysters. We got a selection of raw and steamed. They were fresh and had a good selection of side sauces. There was some inconsistency in the shucking, with some not quite separated from the shell, and a few broken bits of shell, but not so much to detract from our enjoyment. The atmosphere is vibrant. Expect a bit of a wait for a table, and you'll be elbow to elbow with other diners, however not in a bad way. Grab a beer, relax and expect a good time.

First time here but hopefully not our last. The service was great and food delicious. Friendly staff, never waited for water and that's big for me. We had the soup of the day to start (shrimp&corn chowder) and then bar b que and peel and eat shrimp low country and we recommend either of these.

I hate this place closed. Was my favorite downtown seafood spot. Fresh oysters and lots to choose from

I have had numerous meals here... blackened salmon, was just fine, the hangar steak on my last visit was some of the best food I ever put in my mouth! I suggest that you come here for the fun of visiting by boat. Don't come expecting a great meal, but be ready to be surprised with something delicious. This place was next door to Nami where you could eat a really good Japanese meal. I used to suggest that Nami was the better choice by far. HOWEVER, Nami has now moved its chef and menu over to the Galley. If you enjoy Sushi , Sashimi and Nigiri I highly recommend it. If your boat lift was built by Earnest Rodgers, who is an excellent human being, (he is retired now). Earnest used to frequent Nami and had a dish named after him, "The Earnest Turbo Bowl". It's not on the menu, but it is worth inquiring about.

As we walked up the stairs from Wren Park we decided to stop in for a bite at Doolittles. Sitting on the patio on such a lovely evening next to the water fountain was so nice and relaxing while getting to meet some of the local neighbors. We are new in town and everyone is so friendly! Our server came out promptly and got us set up with menus and took our drink orders. There were several things on the menu I was torn over but decided on the Bourbon Chicken. My husband debated between the Fish & Chips or the Carolina Cuban, settling on the latter with the Sweet Corn Sauté. Neither disappointed. The Bourbon Chicken with broccoli and rice was delicious, although I would prefer maybe a little less sauce as it was almost a soup lol but I'd still order it again. My husband loved the Carolina Cuban. The flavors go so well together that even me not being a huge sandwich person would consider getting it on a future visit. The Sweet Corn Sauté was a nice compliment to the dish as well. Oh, and dinner was Gracie approved! She enjoyed her little bites of chicken, smoked pork and ham as well ;) And finally I want to give a shout out to our server Charlie! Her attentiveness and sweet personality played such an integral part in making our evening so great! Also I'd like to mention that we've been to Doolittles once before, just for drinks with friends after dinner at Maki. We had such a fun time that night! I wish I could remember our bartender's name but she's a freakin rock star. We had a blast!
