Considered the crab croissant, but the pics on here didn't look so good and the croissant didn't look golden brown or flaky, like I tend to favor. We ordered the spicy carb scramble, cup of coconut grits, iced coffee, less whipped cream, jerk chicken basket, island burger and Blue Mahoe beer. $51.71 for everything except the island burger and the Blue Mahoe beer. The iced coffee comes topped with whipped cream, it's mixed with chocolate. It's obviously very chocolatey as a result of the added chocolate. The Blue Mahoe beer is made with mango, it's different for sure. The base of the beer tastes like a Blue Moon, maybe. Shows mango cart on the cocktail menu, no idea what a mango cart means though. Service was good, although our waitress seemed like she might be new since she didn't know the specifics of the menu items. Not sure why I was thinking the jerk chicken would not be on the bone, so that made it a bit messier than planned. The island burger is spicy, my FIL enjoyed it. The spicy crab scramble was good. Could have better jam to go with the toast, the grape jelly didn't look anything like a jelly and was quite runny for my toast at least. The mixed berry was a bit thicker for spreading. The coconut grit was quite creamy, just a very subtle coconut flavor. The jerk chicken sauce is super flavorful and quite good. The cabbage slaw on the side was bland and seemed like an afterthought to me. The fries were partly over fried and as if the oil had saturated into a few of the fries to make them look translucent even. Still overall a nice lunch. read more

I'm a Destin local and I was really looking forward to eating here because of the good reviews but I have never been more let down by a restaurant in my life. Ordered over easy, got scrambled eggs. I thought oh well I'll just put up with it ....Ordered medium rare steak with no butter sauce as (I am allergic to the margarine the waitress said they use) it was delivered well done with the margarine. I no potato's, I got potatoes. This is all after letting the waitress know I had an allergy to the sides and needed to have them not served... My daughter's French toast was amazing....until we found there was a black hair in it! Then my daughter pulled a black hair out of her drink! So I called the waitress over and asked to send my order back. She argued with me and said she would get in trouble but would talk to them about it. Then after it was all said and done, they charged me for it. I told them to take it off and they brought me the same ticket to sign along with another customer copy that showed "-$26...". The waitress said it was fine it was just a refund for the ticket already signed-problem is I never signed for the wrong amount and now it felt as if she was attempting to pull a fast one by trying to get me to still sign for the wrong amount! We finally got the bill sorted out but it was the worst experience I have ever had. Amazing experience here. Customer service is amazing. The hostess and service staff here are really top-tier. The food is flavorful and delicious. Everything was served hot and fresh. The jerk chicken wasn't too spicy, which I enjoyed. The waffle was amazing, and I'm not even a huge coconut person. The chicken strips and chicken wings were good as well. Eggs and bacon were cooked really well. The French toast was good. It had a hint if the egg taste. I definitely preferred the waffle over the French toast. My sister ordered the crab croissant. This cute brunch spot is located right off the bridge going into Destin. They have indoor and outdoor seating, I chose to sit outdoors. I ordered the crab Benedict which tasted wonderful and a Bloody Mary. The Bloody Mary honestly wasn't my favorite but I did love that they included a bacon garnish. The service was fast at the start however near the end of my visit I felt a little rushed to leave (they tried taking my water glass before I was done drinking it which I found odd.) It was more so the busser than the server who made made feel this way. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Blue Mahoe, a new breakfast restaurant in Destin, and I have to say that my experience was simply amazing. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and welcoming staff, and the atmosphere was just perfect for a relaxing breakfast. Now, let's talk about the food. I had trying a few dishes, but the standout was definitely the Bourbon Street - a plate of hand breaded, house seasoned chicken fillet fried to perfection, served with a Coconut Belgian waffle and Bourbon honey. It was the perfect combination of sweet and savory, and I couldn't get enough. The Bacon Triple Cheese Omelette was also a hit, with a sauté of onions, bacon, tomatoes, hot peppers, Fontina cheese, Cheddar cheese, and Asiago cheese. It was a spicy foodie's dream come true. For me as a sweet tooth, the Old Texas - three slices of thick Texas French toast with powdered sugar and whipped cream - was an absolute delight. But the real surprise came with the Special Dessert Biscuit, a chef's homemade biscuit topped with grilled pineapple, strawberry puree, whipped cream, and Bourbon syrup. I had never tasted anything like it before, and it was simply heavenly. To wash it all down, I enjoyed an ice coffee that was fantastic and an Island Punch drink made with dark rum, coconut rum, orange juice, and pineapple juice that was also very good. Their foods are creative and delicious, the staff is welcoming and friendly, and the atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing breakfast in paradise. I wanted to love this place. I even reached out to the owner via website over a week ago with no follow up. First of all, the menu is limited without the typical sides to accompany it. For example, the omelette doesn't come with any sides / potatoes. It's an extra charge. You will be spending $20 for an omelette if you add hash. Also, the toast is plain white bread. No option for pancake or biscuit. Kids meals - super over priced and tiny portions. No drinks included. The pancake was super small. The eggs tasted funny that the kids refused to eat them. You are looking at $15+ per child if they order a drink because they are not included. We spend $20 on coffee / milk for 4 and it was 2 kids drinks. Unfortunately, this was our worst dining experience in Destin and will not return. I don't leave negative reviews but wished the owner would have acknowledged our issues. Thank you. read more

Blue Mahoe is located right on 98 in Destin closer to the Emerald Grande (near what used to be Landsharks.) They also have some outside seating which is perfect for beautiful weather days. I knew they just recently opened so we decided to give it a try on a Saturday morning which is primetime breakfast hours; thankfully they were not crowded at all, which was great for us and we were seated right away. Our server was quick to wait on us, and provided some recommendations. I ordered the Bourbon Street which is a chicken and waffles dish and my husband got the triple cheese omelette with a side of home fries. Our food was delivered fresh and hot to our table probably within 10 minutes. The waffle was delicious with perfectly seasoned chicken and it had a delicious syrup on the top, yummy! My only complaint is I could have used a little more syrup but I'm sure I could have asked for it. My husband really enjoyed his cheesy omelette and the home fries were seasoned nicely. Breakfast for two people including drinks cost us about $40 which is pretty standard for around here. We definitely enjoyed it and are looking forward to coming back and trying more things. read more

I get that it's 11:30 on a Sunday AND a holiday weekend. I was a party of one. I waited about 20 minutes in the lobby area for a seat, not too bad of a wait.... I was seated in the back room. I was acknowledged about 5 minutes later by the server. She was clearly in the weeds. She had 5 other tables. Let another 15 minutes go by, and she never came back. She started waiting on a table that was seated AFTER me. I don't think she did that maliciously, but she was so overwhelmed with 6 total tables she just flaked out. So after 40 minutes total without even a glass of water, I walked out. I witnessed another table walk out as well. I had high hopes for this place. SO MUCH YES. This was our favorite restaurant on our trip to Florida. The chef is Jamaican so the food is well seasoned and very flavorful. Crab was fresher than fresher and we all enjoyed our plates. We had the crab scramble 8/10, bourbon chicken and waffles 10/10, crab benedict 10/10.
