Blue Moon is a great little place to meet for breakfast, brunch, lunch, whatever suits your fancy! The breakfast tacos are delish, as is the oatmeal, French toast, and quesadilla. Sit on the patio if the weather permits! It's like stepping out into another city. I have yet to try any drinks other than coffee, but the adult libations sound amazing! Blue Moon is my 'go to' on a Saturday morning for breakfast/brunch with friends. It does get a bit crowded during peak times but that's because it's THAT good! Quality food, fun laid back atmosphere and unlimited coffee :) A Tulsa staple. read more

We went here for brunch on Sunday. It brings an eclectic group of Tulsans together in the name of great food. You'll see 20-something hipster rubbing shoulders with 60-something well-established, Tulsa businessmen. I'd say the dress code is what you'd expect of the Brookside area, casual but somewhat nice. We ordered one of the specials of the day, which was Chicken Tamales with a Poached Egg, Hollandaise with cilantro, and spuds ($8.95). It was a delicious choice for brunch and probably the best version of breakfast potatoes I've ever had!! There are so many options to choose from, so you will not be disappointed if the Chicken Tamales aren't available that day. There are also a lot of healthier options (i.e. whole wheat pancakes and steel cut oatmeal), and the ambience is friendly and open. The bakery display was full of what I'm sure are delicious treats, and the service was fast and polite. All in all, I think this place is my choice for Sunday breakfast/brunch or even Tuesday-Saturday night dinner :-) Enjoy!! read more

Since discovering this cafe a couple months ago, I have been back at least once a week for breakfast. Their sticky buns are the best I've ever had, and the biscuits and gravy are awesome. Blue Moon Cafe has most of the elements of being pretty cool, and it brought me to a cool street with Lululemon and . . . well, I was just focused on Lululemon. The atmosphere was diner, but rustic, somewhat hipster diner with a creative menu. I wish that they would have had fresh-squeezed orange juice being a breakfast/brunch place, and I just thought the food was okay. It wasn't bad by any means, but just not to die for. I'm not sure I will be back, but I thought the people were really cool, the crowd eclectic, and the food pretty good quality. I hope it stays around. A lot of people seem to like it. read more

I was told the Ruben is the best Ruben in the world, so that's what I ordered with some fries. But let me tell you it's not a classic Ruben. Have been to Blue Moon 4 times over a few months, and haven't ordered anything we didn't like. Very strong breakfast/brunch and sandwich menu and the best veggie burger I've ever found so far. (Second best in Tulsa so far was at McNellie's). Usually quite busy on weekends but never had trouble finding a seat. Outdoor seating along the sidewalk in warmer weather. Delicious breakfast food. We had the migas, and they were perfectly cooked with fluffy eggs and flavorful sauce. Everything from the potatoes to the sauce tasted like someone had put thought and love into the preparation. We also appreciated the social justice minded, progressive artwork. We came for brunch but it was too late and we had lunch instead. There was maybe 1 person in the place so we ordered quickly and took our seats outside. It took forever for our food to come. My fish tacos were, alright. I did enjoy by iced tea but it was warm outside... I'll go back for brunch to try it but may skip lunch in the future. read more

I'm a fan for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some of the portions are smaller but they're filling and fresh. A couple dishes can def be split like the nachos! They serve egg dishes, pastries, classic sandwiches, salads and burgers. They also serve good quality booze. Coffee is Lavazza brand. Interior is cute, modern, but small. They have outdoor seating which is great for the warm seasons. Place can get busy but they seem to do a good job of managing crowds, getting people their food, and moving them along. read more

I used to work two doors down from this place and I didn't go in for years. Once I finally tried it, I was hooked. My all time favorite thing to get here is "the other favorite grilled cheese" it has a couple different kinds of cheese on sour dough bread with fresh spinach and olive relish. Sometimes they have the tomato bisque soup and together the combination is unstoppable. I have been once for breakfast and I wasn't as impressed with their breakfast fare, it seemed a little overpriced for what it was, however I wasn't in love with the breakfast burrito I got so I should probably give it a second try. read more

The service here deserves comment. It's a counter service spot but they beat most full service restaurants. The woman who took our order (I wish I got her name. Ponytail, not-super-tall), was amazing our whole stay. She saved my kid from getting run over at the kitchen door. To me, this place is just ok. I go here maybe twice a month with friends who love it, and I will say the patio is a nice place to relax while having brunch. I'd classify the food as above average but nothing has wowed me. The breakfast tacos taste good but are really, really runny. The French toast has a good flavor but a strange, cakey texture that I didn't like. The service is decent; the coffee is just bad. It'll never be the place I choose when it's my turn to pick, but I don't mind tagging along when a friend wants to come here. read more

Not a good start when moving to the location of death. This is a small neighborhood and word spreads like a wild fire around here then all of a sudden... silence. I LOVED the live music, amazing spinach salad with hot bacon dressing, outdoor seating along the river that was free of flies with misters on the very warm day and the BEST part...delicious margaritas and bloody mary's!!! Have been wanting to try this spot after all the good reviews I have heard. Cut to the chase. Walked in at 1:30pm this past Sunday to be greeted by a "witch" (you can insert the proper name) only to be told the kitchen was closed. No she did not offer maybe something out of the case. She just assumed that my wife and I wanted to place an order from the kitchen. Place was pretty busy. Who shuts down a kitchen with a fairly full joint @ least 30 minutes early. Will I make a return visit. Not at all!!!! This place could be the last place open to eat in the brookside area and I would still not step foot into this place. Nothing like shooting yourself in the foot. Given that the economy is down, I would think the owner would want to try and stay open to the posted close time. Bad business choice. read more

Nothing compares to BLUE MOON! It is a lively and friendly hot spot in Tulsa... You are bound to see celebrities, but just act natural. I love that people can bring their dogs to enjoy brunch and drinks with friends and family. They really value bringing you your food hot and timely. The collection of salt and pepper shakers will make you feel like you are in a vintage antique museum. The food is made to order by amazing chefs. Stopped in here on a late Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. They weren't technically open for dinner yet, but they let us eat anyway. Had their veggie burger, which they make there, and it was great. My friend liked her chicken breast sandwich, and they have a great selection of bakery items and even some Mexican paletas (popsicles)! I am from CA so it's good to know where I can find a sweet paleta on a hot summer day. The owner or manager lady is originally from San Diego, so that explained how she even knew what a paleta was. Atmosphere-wise, it's a pleasant place; the local art on the walls is a good idea, but it's well, a little haphazard, e.g. none of it really goes together, but they do have a fun and quirky collection of salt and pepper shakers which is a nice touch to give the place some flavor. Quick and friendly service, so it's a perfect lunch spot when you are hanging out in Brookside. I'd go back there, for sure. read more

Food is good, but nothing to write home about, portions seemed a little small. The atmosphere and furniture in this place is depressing. The format with waitstaff only to deliver food is tired and I expected more. The waitstaff was friendly, however. Overall experience was not bad, but I'm not rushing back either.
