My return to South Beach was much-anticipated...at least by me. And Blue Moon helped me see a new side of South Beach. Perfectly situated between the "North" and Southern End (So-So?), options abound to create fun walkable beach memories. I was at one of those conference things (joy), but I found the 1 mile walk convenient and eco-friendly. There were plenty of places to stop along the way to/from for breakfast or happy hour (more in that in other reviews). Maybe I get the special treatment given my super-double-triple-platinum-titanium-zinc Rewards status, for which I won't complain, but I also overheard another guest saying "this is the nicest hotel staff I've ever encountered" so it isn't just me. The bell staff go over the top for service (without overstepping), starting with the ride on the mystical magic historical elevator (refurbished not to feel like the cord will break on the way to the second floor). Room locations vary, but my corner spot in the adjacent building provided great views to the nightlife along Collins. Speaking of the adjacent building, there's an alternate keyed entrance with a separate lobby should you venture out/in without going back to the main building. It also doesn't feel that separate, with a lovely lighted courtyard between. Although I have spent lots of time through the years in South Beach, Blue Moon provides a different feel, which I was pleased to experience. I'll hope to return.

Nasty. Bed bugs all over. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. How are you a hotel and don't clean the beds? The bed was filthy with stains. Honestly how dare they do this. So gross i am so mad

i JUST sent this review to the hotel manager so I posting it here! Dear Mr. Horacio, We landed about 2 hours ago, hahaha, so this survey email came right on time! I hope this email finds you in the best of spirits. I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest appreciation for the truly exceptional experience I had during my recent stays at the Blue Moon Hotel in Miami. This was my third visit in the past four months, and I can confidently say that I will no longer consider any other place to stay while in Miami! I must commend you on assembling an absolutely incredible staff. Their dedication to providing top-notch service has left an indelible impression on me. From the moment I arrived until the time of my departure, every member of your team went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. They truly embody the essence of hospitality. BRAVO! I took the time to inquire about the names of some of your staff members, and I wanted to share them with you as a testament to their outstanding performance: Jonathan, Larry, JP, Devonte, Christine, Otis, Juan, and Rodney. Each of them left a lasting impression with their genuine warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism. I am certain I forget some, but charge it to me head and not my heart. The level of care and attention to detail provided by your staff is unparalleled. Not only did they graciously offer water in and out, open doors and elevators, but they also did so with an infectious smile that brightened my day. I can honestly say that I did not encounter a single negative experience during my entire stay. Your team's dedication to ensuring a flawless guest experience is truly commendable. I must also mention that my boyfriend joined me on this trip, and he was equally impressed with the Blue Moon Hotel and its staff. It's safe to say that he, too, has become a dedicated fan of your establishment and insists on staying nowhere else when we visit Miami. Your hotel has certainly won two loyal patrons, all thanks to your exceptional team! As a token of my appreciation and as a testament to the extraordinary service I received, I intend to share this glowing review on Yelp, Trip Advisor, and Expedia. I believe it's essential for other travelers to know about the exceptional hospitality offered at the Blue Moon Hotel. Once again, thank you, Mr. Horacio, for creating a haven of hospitality in Miami. Your staff's commitment to excellence has left an indelible mark on my heart, and I eagerly look forward to my next visit. Please extend my heartfelt gratitude to the entire team for making my stays at Blue Moon so memorable. Warmest regards, AJ

    Cockroaches

This hotel is infested with cockroaches!!!! I found around 16 small cockroaches and a huge cockroach on the bed. Front desk said that they have never heard of any cockroach complaints but I doubt that I was the only unlucky one who found a shit load of roaches in my room. I packed my things and left the same night I got there.

I had a day off work, so we wanted to make a day trip to South Beach for Basel. We ended up being able to spend the night here, we used points from our Marriott card! We did the long drive from Orlando back home to Miami. As always, we were happy to see the familiar sights. South Beach greeted us with the regular mix of locals and tourists. We arrived to find valet service right in front of the hotel. However, the valet despite being apparently unoccupied seemed very distant. Perhaps they have many people pull up that don't belong there. I don't know why he seemed distant, maybe it was our car not being up to the Miami standard! Everyone else was very courteous and it definitely felt higher end than most Marriott's that we visit. Even though we've generally had excellent experience at every property we've visited, this felt a small step above that. We found a very nice lobby that seemed quaint yet chic. The perfect decor for South Beach. I felt bad for the person behind the desk, he seemed a bit swamped, but he handled it well. There did not seem to be a big staff when we arrived. There was just one person answering phones and doing a good job of taking care of us, it was admirable! We were pleasantly surprised by our great view. We had a great view of the street. We had a great view of Collins. We weren't far from all the posh locations and fun South Beach has to offer. Everything that we planned to do was withing walking distance, so we were excited! The room was small by my perception of US standards. It was a size similar to rooms when I've visited Europe. It was just the right size for 2 of us. There was a small chair and bed. Bed felt very worn and didn't quite hold up well under my 200 pounds of weight. I was a bit disappointed that the room is regulated to not go lower than 68 degrees. On hot beach days you may want to come back and cool down quickly. The room was also warmer than I'm used to for sleeping or napping. It wasn't uncomfortable, but I did have to use the fan which I normally don't use at home. The lighting reminded me of the weird lighting I had in a room in Paris. But this was only 1 light bulb in the room. The bathroom had better lighting. We had a corner room, so the beautiful natural light all day more than made up for it. The uncomfortable mattress and temperature would not stop me from visiting here again. It was a very nice hotel and a fantastic location.

Absolutely LOVE this Autograph Collection Hotel (Bonvoy/Marriott). I moved here after a bad experience at another hotel. Wow what a difference!!! This hotel is beautiful and spotless! Everyone who works here is so helpful. I will definitely stay here again!

Location of this hotel is AMAZING. next to many different food locations and bars. Also super close to the beach. The staff is very friendly. The hotel is expensive, rightfully so, however, the rooms are pretty small and I didn't think the amenites for this hotel were that great. I think parts of this hotel needs an update for the category it is on the marriot property.

I'm pretty loyal to Marriott, as evidenced by the photo I posted of the complimentary cheese and bread plate they left me upon check in. The Marriott options in South Beach pretty much came down to the Blue Moon or the Ritz. The Winter Haven Autograph Collection is in Mid-Beach territory and the Courtyard Cadillac is pushing you up to North Beach. Check in here was so smooth. We pulled up to the valet drop off, unloaded our stuff into the lobby and got to our rooms within about 10 minutes. The bellhop dropped our bags off, the valet took care of the car ($30/day to park) and the front desk went over my choice of breakfast or the extra points. I then got a text from the front desk after check in saying to let then know if there was anything we needed during our stay. Blue Moon is running a highly professional operation. The rooms are a little tight, but that's to be expected in Autograph Collections (which are basically boutique hotels taken over by Marriott). This was the second Autograph Collection I stayed in and the same held true for the first. We doubled up, but I did catch a glimpse of a queen room walking down the hallway and it looked to be a little bigger. The complimentary breakfast I got as a platinum member was fresh, delicious and filling. I went with the fruit bowl, croissant and oatmeal which they served with walnuts, brown sugar and craisins. The coffee and fresh squeeze OJ hit the spot. Check out was as smooth as check in. I asked the night before our departure to have the valet bring our car around out front by 4:15 the following morning. I saw him roll up at exactly 4:15. By this point, the bellhop already had all our stuff in the lobby and even loaded the car for us. Overall, the customer service here was great. The Keurig machines in the room are a nice touch. It rained the whole time we were there so we never bothered with the pool, but probably the only thing missing here is a gym and a jacuzzi.

The bed looks nice, which is standard for Autograph hotels.

My wife and I have stayed at Autograph hotels around the world and this is the worst we've been at. Don't get me wrong, Autograph is a high standard, so this is still a good place, but it's not Autograph good, so it gets two stars. We just checked in to a super damp & moldy smelling room, so the first impression was terrible. Everyone I talked to was really nice to try and get it sorted out, and we ended up in a better smelling room, in the main building, which smells much better overall than their annex building. Buuut, now we're on the first floor RIGHT next to the pool, with only a window separating us from somebody's lounge chair. We're told that since we're here on Sunday and Monday, it probably won't be that busy. We'll see though... My recommendation is to avoid our mistake and skip this place. It's not worth the money or the Autograph name.

Nice pool but much smaller than stock picture

Overall, my experience was disappointing with the Blue Moon. I will start with the positive though. Most of the staff (with the exception of the gentleman who checked me in) was pleasant and helpful. The general manager for both autograph collections was also friendly and knowledgeable. The lobby had a beautiful interior, and the bar was fantastic. I also appreciated the breakfast in the morning. The pool was small but nice, generally not crowded and you could get a good amount of sun during the day. Also the location itself is central and has easy access to the beach and night life. The beach chairs and bikes were also worth the resort fee. Now to the not so good. As a platinum member your upgrade options are limited (I knew this going in), but when I asked the gentleman who checked me in about one, or a bigger room, he was curt and dismissive. I also did not receive a welcome champagne... but everyone else around me did. Seemed like they did not like me for whatever reason but I'll let that one slide. Also it should be noted I emailed Efrain before arriving about an upgrade... still no response and it has been 2 weeks. They were also doing demolition behind that rumbled the building. They did apologize but we had no "heads up". Now to the bad. The elevator was rough to operate and we had very little help. Actually to the point of a minor injury. The carpets (see attached) had stains in the hallway. The room was small, dirty, one of the cabinets did not close, and the floor was not level (hard to see from the picture but see attached). Folks you can say your hotel is a boutique experience, but for me you all need a major (easy) renovation and I made that clear with Marriott. The room was also musty smelling and the layout was that of a college dorm. Final verdict: the hotel is cute, but not worth it. It felt like a category 2 days inn when in the room. Maybe a good place for one night, but prolonged stays is a no go. I would HIGHLY recommend the Marriott Stanton for longer stays. Helpful staff, clean rooms, and a beautiful hotel.

My gf and I stopped through here on our way out before boarding our flights later in the afternoon. If you're toting your luggage and not a hotel guest, you will have to find another hotel to store your luggage while enjoying this most decadent brunch experience. Luckily we arrived early enough to our reservations to sort that out. Reservations are a must if you don't want to wait. The restaurant is gorgeous with various spaces designed differently but keeps to the exotic Asian theme. Dining in the atrium near the water feature in the middle with stage for the musicians is where we had our experience. Olga was our server. She brought us our special beverages not available at the bar: Bloody Mary's and endless bubbly in our glasses The offerings here are more than I can name, but there is something to satisfy every craving. The favorite for me is the caviar bar. It comes with all the proper fixings on a blini with Crème fraîche. Do you need a vodka shot to go with? Yes, that's also available also at the caviar station. Fresh raw oysters, clams or shrimp cocktail is available in abundance with everything else here. The ceviche was great. I passed on all the various noodles but had to have some lamb curry and basmati rice- delicious! I had some Peking Duck and leg of lamb at the meat station. The filet mignon and lamb chops was ordered and brought to the table. The leg of lamb and filet were slightly dry but still good. The lamb chops with chimichurri sauce was amazing- nuances of vibrant flavors. Assorted fresh fruits were a colorful collection of enticements. I saw some papaya and enjoyed its fresh, sweet juiciness. I am not a dessert person but had to try the key like pie. Then of course, the matcha dessert is a sitting temptation next to the pie. So, my dessert spoils were more than intended. What the hell right? Lol That was the sweet ending to my Setai brunch. There was so much more such as bread, fried stuff, eggs, bagel station, toast etc. One can only eat so much. I stuck to enjoying my favorites. The experience is pricey but so worth it. It is truly the best brunch experience I've ever had. - better than Vegas and a cruise ship!! I always have to experience a Setai brunch whenever in Miami!

Unfortunately, the bar itself was too dark, leaving everything in shadow. Despite this, the rooftop restaurant served delicious Brazilian cuisine and had friendly customer service! We were glad we never stayed at the hotel only to visit when we could while we lived in Miami before we moved out of the country for great decades!

The staff were generally friendly, and a few were especially helpful. They handled three packages I had shipped to the hotel efficiently, though there was a sizable per-package fee. Small touches like afternoon boozy gelato samples and a lobby change machine for breaking $20s into $5s were appreciated. Breakfast at Lolo's was decent. My Marriott status included breakfast for two, though the included menu was much shorter than the regular one and the portions were modest. Still, the food was cooked to order, tasted good, and the servers kindly let me order both breakfasts since I was traveling alone. I didn't try the Japanese restaurant on site, but I heard good things and enjoyed the neighborhood restaurants instead, especially La Grande Boucherie. I paid a substantial premium for an oceanfront double room, but I'm not sure I would do that again. The balcony and glass door were fairly small, and the balcony felt boxed in for privacy. Next time I might prefer a cheaper park-side room on a higher floor, which could still offer a nice park and ocean view. The biggest disappointment was the late checkout. My Marriott Platinum Elite status is supposed to include guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout, but the hotel would not honor it. Each day I was told to check again later, and in the end they could only offer 1 p.m. That created real scheduling problems, since I had planned around the advertised benefit. With no good place in the hotel to work or take calls after checkout, I ended up going to the airport hours early. The status is supposed to provide a room upgrade, but that wasn't available either. A couple of other issues matched complaints I had seen in recent reviews. One elevator stopped for several minutes with a group of us inside and did not respond to the buttons, which was uncomfortable even though the door eventually opened. I also received a call inviting me downstairs for a "welcome gift," which turned out to be a Marriott Vacation Club sales pitch. That should be presented more honestly. Overall, this was a decent stay and I might return. But given the failure to honor the guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout, I would compare other options carefully before booking again.

We spent the afternoon by the pool, enjoying drinks and snacks, which were delicious and the perfect way to relax. Later, we headed to Happy Hour at Lido, and it was fantastic. The drinks were excellent, the food was great, and the waterfront setting made the experience even more special. The entire property has a laid-back luxury feel, with beautiful landscaping, comfortable seating areas, and amazing views. Whether you're visiting for a spa day, drinks by the pool, or Happy Hour at Lido, The Standard delivers a truly memorable experience. Highly recommend for a relaxing day in Miami Beach!

The rooms have been thoughtfully re-designed, but still have that cold Miami cinder block feel. In other words you won't do more than sleep in them. The pool area is fantastic with a bay view and plenty of chairs. Lido Grill, the main restaurant, is nicely done and people / pet friendly. Service was good, once you got their attention, which was on you, not them...we had the lobster, fairly priced at $39, but was like rubber and inedible. Sides were a throw away. Drinks were very good. Other points, nice mini bar in room, however NO coffee in room and coffee shop doesn't open until 7 AM. A regular room, facing back away from bay, dinner for 2, minor mini bar invasion (2 drinks) valet, was over $1100. Not worth the cost.

The kind of place where…read moreyou walk into the lobby and instantly feel like you've stepped into a glossy magazine spread. High ceilings, marble everywhere, and a buzz that tells you you're in the right place. What impressed me most? There's genuinely plenty to do for all ages, which is not something you can say about every Miami resort. Whether you're traveling with kids, teens, adults, or a multigenerational crew, everyone finds their lane here. The pool scene is the heartbeat of the property. Multiple pools, each with its own personality -- family-friendly areas with space to splash, quieter corners for lounging, and the high-energy spots where the music and cocktails flow. Service was dialed in across the board: fast, friendly, and always one step ahead. Rooms were spotless and stylish, with balconies that make you want to order room service just to soak in the view a little longer. Housekeeping kept everything crisp, and every request was met with that effortless "of course" attitude. Dining is another standout. From quick bites to full-on fine dining, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Even the grab-and-go spots felt elevated. And if nightlife is your thing, you don't need to leave the property -- the energy here after dark is pure Miami. But if you're traveling with kids or just want a low-key night, the resort still feels comfortable and accessible. Fontainebleau nails that rare balance of iconic luxury and all-ages fun. It's bold, glamorous, and buzzing in all the right ways, yet still manages to be welcoming and easy to enjoy no matter who you're traveling with. A true Miami classic that continues to deliver. Enjoy

This is a tourist trap extraordinaire. It made me feel like I was paying to be in a place trying to extract from me, not serve me. And yes, I did complain twice to the front staff about these issues - to stony faces and lame excuses that were canned and code for "we don't care." The resort fee is $60/day (which is not made clear on Orbitz, where I booked it), yet when I went in February the pool and all outdoor facilities - which is what the resort fee pays for - closed at 6pm. We were told it closes at "sundown," even though they clearly have outdoor lights for the whole outside facility. Want to swim in the evening or night? Nope. All those pictures with the pool lit up? Not for you. And if you dare to be in the pool at 6:01, there were six staff for every one guest to tell you to get out. Seriously, we got warnings to get out at 10min to 6, 5min to 6, and at 6:00. Why every five minutes? Because a group of staff members were hovering over us, watching and waiting for the moment to kick us out. Very relaxing. You have to wear an armband everywhere you go. Staff are at every door as you go in or out - hotel to pool or pool to beach - monitoring you to produce it. Very relaxing. There is no coffee in the room, forcing you to travel across the whole huge facility (3 towers connected by long walks) to their coffee shop to pay $10 for a cup of coffee each morning. You could walk all the way back to your room, or - like me - you can try to drink it by the pool. But NO! You can't sit by the pool. Those seats and lounges require you to pay a fee, even in February when there was NO ONE there. If you don't want to pay, you can find a free lounge on the outer fringes. And if you try to sit without paying, there are staff to tell you to move immediately. Hovering, as usual. To get a lounge on the beach - in February, low season - we had to get in line to sign up for a chair and then get in a second line of 20-30 people and wait in the hot sun for an available, assigned chair and a staff person to take us there. Grab a chair and relax? Nope. It's a monitored system. When we checked out, the staff told us there were too many rooms to provide a coffee maker in each one. I guess their policy is to assume their guests are stupid.
