Perfect option for a relatively pricy area. I stopped at Blue Moose for a quick slice of pizza while shopping at The Village in Beaver Creek on a Saturday afternoon. I liked it so much that decided to go back for dinner with my husband and his friend that same day. My server: Connor. Boy! He knows what he is doing and how to make people feel welcome while providing an excellent service. Delicious pizza! We ordered a Hawaiian and a Cheese pizza. Cheesy, chewy crust. Their pies are all home made, hand tosed, New York Style. I had a very enjoyable experience in a casual, family friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Beaver Creek. Staying at the Poste Montane. The Blue Moose shares the building and is steps from the front desk. We came in the shoulder season so not many people and probably even less than normal because of the virus. I had three slices of the white olive pizza. I've got to tell you, it might have been the best pizza I've ever had! It was thin crust, but not paper-thin. The edge of the pizza was more like pan pizza size. Better than that was the way it was baked, crispy but not hard, a great consistency. The sauce was flavorful and the toppings generous. My wife had a Greek salad. Although I wouldn't have that as an entree, it was delicious when pared with the pizza. I didn't have beer so can't recommend one or comment on them. Ok, we read about Blue Moose pizza on Yelp and decided to try it on vacation. We are really glad that we did. 1st, our waitress was Laurel. I usually hate Gorgeous girls who are also smart and friendly, BUT in this case no. Laurel was great and always there to help even though we were too slow to know it yet. In my awkward way I'm trying to say that Laurel was amazing!! Now for the pizza. We ordered the Greek Pizza. The crust ( in my opinion the most important part of a pizza) was beautiful! It was crispy and chewy and browned with bubbles. You know, the type of crust that you want to savor. It was tasty and not bland . Just perfect. Finally the topping. The feta cheese cut the mozzarella perfectly in the saltiness and the texture. The black olives ( not usually my favorite) also added a slight brininess that worked so well with the olive oil. My wife and I are staying in Beaver Creek Village for vacation and went next door to the lodge we are staying at to Blue Moose Pizza -- mostly to watch a ball game and have a beer. Our server could not have been friendlier or more helpful -- so much so that some good local advice he offered kept us from wasting an afternoon. After a while we decided we were hungry enough to split a sandwich so were shared their meatball sandwich, which was delicious. Then the manager, Frank, came by and said he'd like to give us two free slices of their "pizza of the week" (a very interesting recipe called "banana curry" which apparently is all the rage in Sweden right now) in order to get our opinion. Highly recommend! We came to Beaver Creek on vacation and tried Blue Moose Pizza. Some of the best pizza we've had, ever. Their pizza crust is perfection. Summary- food is fine. Service is SUB PAR. What is going on with this place? They do have good food, yes. But it seems as though they have a bunch of slackers working here. Except the bartender who was managing all the takeout orders as well as the bar area (and the cooks probably aren't slackers either). Waited in line for 20 minutes just to find out the status of our take out order while several workers stood around at the host stand watching all these people in the takeout line. I purchased a large pepperoni and tomato pizza from the Blue Moose for take-out. I arrived on time and waited 10 minutes before I could ask for the pizza to go. The guy at the bar took my credit card and went into the kitchen with the card rather than run the card through in front of me with his portable credit card machine. He asked me to sign the receipt and noticed he added a 22% tip! I changed it to $2 because the only service he provided was handing me the pizza and charging me. When I got back to the condo, we saw that pepperoni and tomato pizza meant one slim piece of pepperoni on each slice and we couldn't find any tomato. The pizza tastes as bland as it looks. Went with the family while vacationing in Beaver Creek over Spring Break. Had heard good things from a friend. Food was OK. Nothing special. We had the Spaghetti and Meatballs, the "Autumn Pizza", Stromboli Calzone and a bowl of their Chili. Marinara sauce was kinda' tasteless. Pizza was OK, although a bit dry (overcooked?). The Stromboli was pretty good and our son liked the Chili, although the bowl was on the small size (but only $4.50). Cheesy Garlic bread was just Italian bread with butter and melted mozzarella (no noticeable garlic taste). Wine selection (glass/bottle) was good. Service was as advertised - 'kinda slow'. Took them a while to get to us for the order. Food did come out quick. Then had to ask for silverware, drinks came out after food, etc... also took a long time to get the check. This place used to be the best value for your money in Vail, but no longer. It's been assimilated into the money extracting Borg machine that is Vail. So I've been really hesitant to post bad reviews during Covid because I know a lot of restaurants are short staffed. This place is not one of them. Overall the food was bleh and they had a lot of workers standing around. They weren't even half full and the service was lethargic. Been going here for years, but after our last visit never again. When we sat down it took a while for us to be greeted and get our drink orders in even though the place was practically dead. Our waitress seemed very space-y, took forever to bring out waters. When it was time to order we were informed that they were out of almost everything. No lettuce, no spinach, no goat cheese, no sun-dried tomatoes, no olives, no prosciutto, no artichokes, and a few other ingredients. We were told they had been out of all these things for a few days now, so I guess whoever is in charge of ordering needs to step it up. Also, just run to the grocery store, how can you run a restaurant when you're out of basically everything for days. So we ended up just ordering a pretty basic pizza, the winter. The winter pizza is just roma tomatoes, basil, garlic, olive oil, and mozzarella so essentially a margherita pizza. We ordered two winter pizzas and when our pizzas came out they both looked incredibly different. One pizza had diced tomatoes, no basil, and no garlic. The other pizza had some Roma tomatoes and a few little crumbled leaves of basil. It was at this point we asked to speak to the manager. The 'manager' finally comes to our table to speak with us and right off the bat he has a bad attitude with us. I believe the manager's name was Noah, but I may be remembering incorrectly. The manager appeared to be a 16 year old kid and was incredibly rude. We explained to him that we had been coming here for the past 12 years and always had a great experience. We showed him the two pizzas we ordered which were supposed to be the same and he just looked at us and shrugged and said "so what? I don't see the problem". He gave us the lame excuse that the kitchen was out of a few things. He did not offer an apology. He did not make any attempts to right the situation. To top it all off, we had to become our own bus boys and clean off our table and put all our dirty dishes and cups on an empty table, which never cleaned up. Looking forward to a great take out chicken parmesan with pasta in marinara. I was very disappointed. This has to be the worst chicken parm with a side of pasta I have ever purchased. Located in Beaver Creek Village, Blue Moose Pizza is a much more reasonably-priced lunch or dinner option than almost any other place nearby. The pizza is alright and it's clearly a popular place for lunch and dinner with mountain-goers, because when my party went around 2 pm they were very busy. Throughly disappointed! Let me start by saying This place has always been a favorite while in Beaver Creek, but this year the service is the worst I have encountered at ANY restaurant ever. The staff is clueless. We ate here a week ago for lunch and actually had to get our own plates and drinks because our waiter was MIA most of the meal. Tonight we decided to give it a try again. The service was once again lack luster....in fact shameful. The owner of Blue Moose needs to replace Ryan their manager before he destroys the place for them. The Beaver Creek location needs a whole new wait staff or a training program ASAP!!! We waited 47 mins before we were waited on. Yes 47 for drink order!!!! Then another 1/2 hour to order pizza. My friend went to talk to the manager he didn't give a darn. Never in my life have I seen a manager not give a $#!£ about service. I guess we should have just walked out, but hey we were on vacation. Like I said super disappointed! We have always loved the service and pizza....if you want Blue moose go to vail ...skip Beaver Creek this place needs new management!!! Calzones are so horrible! The restaurant is overrated and not really great on food or pricing. I know vacations come with higher priced food but this was lower quality than the hotels around you for the same or higher prices. Very disappointed! Our calzone we ordered was so disgusting! The crust was soggy and felt like chicken skin. The filling was so under filled and even when we scrapped it out it was bland and tasteless.
