Teriyaki Lunch Box - Jumbo shrimp teriyaki, brown rice, and seafood hot & sour soup
    Tate A.

I was working in the area and craving soup on a cold & rainy Tuesday afternoon. This spot was a few blocks away and so I decided to take a gamble on their lunch special: Jumbo Shrimp Teriyaki over Brown Rice + Seafood Hot & Sour Soup. For a total of $15.24, this was a lot of food! It's a steal compared to the other food options in the Flatiron area. The soup was tasty and piping hot - exactly how I like it and what I was looking for. It contained a few pieces of mini shrimp and strips of imitation crab meat. They were super generous with the amount of jumbo shrimp and vegetables + the brown rice was the perfect addition. Pick up was fast and easy. The inside area is clean and cozy. Would love to return next time to try their sushi lunch special!

This is one of my favorite sushi places in the City. The sushi is so fresh, the service is amazing, they have a great selection of beers, great specials and not to mention so many different lunch options, at great prices. I normally go in, but I have actually ordered online and it was still delicious and fresh. So happy I found a quaint delicious sushi spot.

Miso soup and Calamari Dragon Rollcalamari

I was feeling sushi for dinner and ordered their calamari dragon roll, a weekly special , and a miso soup to be delivered! The calamari dragon roll was pretty mush an eel and avocado roll stuffed in a large calamari and it was really good! It was a pricey roll at $24 but was definitely super filling. It was a little hard to eat though. The miso soup was good too! It took about 1 hr from ordering to getting it delivered to my door and they packaged the sauces separately as I requested!

Food was decent and service was ok. We asked for the cash to be applied to the bill because we went as a group and the rest be split on the card and the server was giving us a hard time because of her tip even though we said we would tip on the card. One person has mushroom allergy expressed that and still had mushroom in the soup. We didnt get the cocktails menu and had to request it. Maybe its better to come with less people.

    soft shell crab

Cute, small clean place, food was pretty good. Service was ok, price was reasonable in this area with fair portion. We had soft shell crab, fried calamari, grilled salmon, pan fried noodle, couple of sushi rolls, sashimi, (fresh). We enjoyed this experience and will come back if we are in the neighborhood.

Super underrated sushi spot! It doesn't ever seem to be too busy. They have a Monday to Saturday lunch special $18 for 3 rolls and a miso/salad. Rolls had a very good fish to rice ratio as well. Highly recommend!

Went here and got the hibachi lunch special and a salmon roll. Special came with a choice of appetizers, I got miso soup. Chicken wasnt bad, a little greasy but not in an unhealthy way, more like olive oil. The sushi was pretty good, decent quality fish. The service was fast and friendly, I'll be back maybe for dinner next time.

I love this place so much. Never disappoints. Amazing food every time. Our go to spot

Wow I can't believe the affordability for the sushi/food here! I scoured Yelp (as I'm picky with sushi) and decided to try Blue Mountain after seeing photos of the rolls. I was not disappointed! The classic rolls average about $6-8 with an insane filling to rice ratio. There's barely any rice! The shrimp/veggie tempura was also delicious and $9.95. The interior is chic and clean, and staff was kind. I'd definitely come back if I was craving sushi!

Normal/Special rolls were good, I think it might be better in restaurant. Rock shrimp was not needed.

Reliable Thai becomes delicious Asian fusion. There's enough lunch specials for everyone. Ate: kitchen lunch $16 Thoughtful salad with jicama The box: Salmon Edamame, two pieces of delicious salmon, brown rice( I ordered) rock shrimp Total $22 with tip I so enjoyed this lunch & the food exceeded my expectations- I will repeat this lunch again.

The sushi is delicious and fresh. Ambiance was cozy and service was good. Would definitely go back.

3 roll combo. Comes with soup. Tasty
    Glenn C.

I've been going here a bit too much not to update. As the other good sushi place in the area (Oishi) has both gotten more expensive and now essentially matches this spot in terms of price, I prefer this place now. The sushi quality is just as good, the staff is a whole lot nicer (with the staff at the other spot concentrating on takeout orders primarily,) and there's more options. An example would be the unique seafood hot and sour (with fish cake and mini shrimp) with your sushi instead of the usual generic miso soup which is also a bit better here as well with the addition of mushrooms.

To drink, I had a Hot Organic Super Matcha Tea for 4.95. It was alright tea, and I wish teas were included in the price point, as otherwise, this place feels pretty traditional. In terms of food, I only ordered from the seasonal menu, so I'm not sure how the rest of the dishes are, but from what I had, I would go back for a light traditional meal. My appetizer was the Dashimaki Tamago/だし巻まき卵たま, or sweet savory omelet with daikon for $6.98. This came with three pieces along with a little dollop of grated radish. The pieces had a light sweetness to them along with a bit of savoriness. They were juicy and a bit bouncy while maintaining some softness. This was standard and good. My main dish was the $19.98 Beef Tan Tan Udon, or ground sirloin beef, spicy broth, baby bok choy, kikurage mushroom, scallions, and sesame seeds. While I have preferred udon from spots like Raku, the udon had a mild chew to it, and they were still good. The broth had a mix of sweetness and spiciness with a nice depth of flavor. The vegetables inside tasted fresh, and the meat added some richness. This was good as well. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to go here, but the food was good. If you're in the area and looking for no frills Japanese dining in a more comfortable atmosphere at pretty decent Midtown East prices, I would recommend this place.

The dining room is warmly lit and richly decorated with traditional Japanese touches, creating a cozy, authentic atmosphere that's a pleasant surprise after the unassuming entrance. I stopped by for lunch and thought the daily lunch special was an excellent value. The menu changes regularly, which gives you a reason to come back. The restaurant wasn't overly crowded, making for a relaxed meal, and the service was professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly throughout. The food was well executed and felt a step above your typical neighborhood Japanese restaurant without trying too hard to be fancy. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and nicely presented. My only minor criticism is that a few dishes leaned a bit saltier than I would have preferred, but it wasn't enough to detract from the meal. Overall, Sakagura is a hidden gem (literally!). We also shared edamame and a couple of yakitori skewers: the shiitake mushrooms ($6) and pork belly ($8). The mushrooms were quite bland and I did not finish them, but the pork belly looked great and my friend enjoyed it.
