    Lobster hand roll - yum!
    Karen Y.

Solid 4/5. Came here for lunch and we tried their omakase ($75 pp), added the cauliflower tempura ($14) and crispy rice (yellowtail & lobster yuzu) ($18) and 2 hot tea ($7). Total bill $251. They offer counter seats and also a takeaway section. Decor is modern and fast sushi. We made a reservation but since we're the first to arrive, didn't really need it. Service was fine, the tea refills, and the chef was nice to keep a good "pace". We were full but wonder had we not added the extras... would we still? The fish pieces were good, on the thinner cut side... for the price, it was good. Loved the cauliflower tempura! Super tasty! BUT would skip the crispy rice stuff... it was underwhelming. Overall, a good lunch spot and would eat again! Let's Go! 2026!

Awesome service and the food was over the top outstanding. My husband & I will surely make this restaurant our go to for sushi. We ordered the lunch special but added the eel & Wagha. Definitely to be a repeat. Servers by an outstanding waitress Clev Barbara Singh

Got takeout and it was "eh" expensive and small! I think there are better sushi spots especially in NYC that are more tasty, and more valuable for your buck.

I have seen this chain all over my social media but never had the chance to come by. When my bestie and I casually walked right by it from our workout class we decided to come by for dinner. We do recommend making reservations online since it is mainly bar seating (they do have take out options which I know a lot of people opt for) and it was fairly packed when we got here. We came here on 6:30 pm on a Wednesday and we were seated right away. The menu pretty decent - they have omakase options, handroll options and a la carte options as well. We decided to go with the five special handroll option for $40. They make all the handrolls fresh in front of you and the chef urged us to eat them right away so the seaweed doesn't get all weird and soggy. -Wagyu Handroll: This was really yummy, they do torched the meat but still tasty. -Scallop Handroll: Another solid yummy one, they have a good amount of scallop in here compare to other handroll places. -Lobster: This one was just alright, I would pass on this one -Toro Scallion: Another solid one, but I love toro handrolls in general. Once again a good amount of fish in this one. -Salmon Ikura: This was pretty standard, but not bad! Overall - solid place for quick sushi if you are in the mood for it. I def want to come back to try their crispy rice after. The waitress was also super nice and offered us both a free sake shot after our meal which was def a nice touch!

I must say, for takeout sushi, this was so good!!!! I chose the salmon avocado and the spicy tuna for the two rolls: both were equally as delicious. The nigiri was super smooth and high quality! I loved this

Decent Sushi, Inconsistent Service I was craving sushi on a weekend afternoon and noticed Bondi nearby. I'd seen them as a lunch option at work, so I was excited to finally try them in person. Food: 4/5 I didn't expect top-tier sushi, but I figured it would be better than typical takeout. Instead of omakase, we opted for a prix-fixe hand roll set and added some nigiri. The scallop and wagyu rolls were our favorites, though some pieces had too much rice, and the tuna rolls were forgettable. It was a nice touch that they pre-cut our rolls so we could easily share. The fish quality was decent--not high-end omakase level, but a solid mid-tier sushi option that won't break the bank. Service: 3/5 We arrived between lunch and dinner (around 3-5 PM), and it showed. Our original server left mid-meal, leaving just one overwhelmed staff member and transitioning chefs. Because of this, two of our handrolls were served, after the chefs cleaned their stations, resulting an extra 20 minutes wait. The restaurant tried to compensate with sake, but since we don't drink often, it wasn't much of a gesture. They didn't adjust our bill, and by the end, we had to flag down the hostess just to get the check. Still a $100+ bill but sadly that more common with sushi these days. Overall: Bondi's takeout might be a better option than dining in. The sushi is good for the price, but the in-person experience left a lot to be desired.

This happy hour is SOLID - took advantage of the drinks and this incredible crispy tuna. Such a deal and a quick spot to grab a bite and drink. Nothing revolutionary, but easy, fresh, cheaper sushi.

Bondi is a great and consistent sushi experience. Edomae style sushi with an occasional twist, pillowy shari, and fresh, seasonal cuts. I've been to the locations on 5th and UES - it was my first time at this location. The L-bar is bright, well lit and immaculate with an ocean theme (blues, whites, greens for color tones) . There are about 10 seats on one side and 4 on the other, and nearly all will provide you with a clear view of the action behind the bar. But if you want the best view of the chefs in action? Sit near the door. There is an outdoor space, and yesterday they had live music. Not sure if that was a one off occasion, but it was good, and we enjoyed the melodies from inside. It complemented the relaxed vibe inside the restaurant. The service was impeccable - staff was attentive but not overbearing. They all introduced themselves, and the chef paid attention to how fast we were eating to place our next piece. One of our party was prone to savoring pieces, and the chef placed the pieces neatly side by side so that they could continue their meal at leisure. I asked to be accommodated to eat traditionally, and the chef requested oshibori for me. Thanks all around. All the pieces were solid - my favorites were the kanpachi, hotate, king salmon, and hamachi. Something that caught our attention in particular was the ebi with finger lime. That contrast in texture between the soft yield of the shrimp and the popping brightness of the lime is a must-experience end-of-summer treasure. The sushi was the main event, but we also had the Heavensake sake flight for $33, which was a good offering for the selection and price. I'm not sure if they had dessert, but there are a plethora of options in the area, including Levain bakery, their next door neighbor. The photos speak for themselves, but I highly recommend this location, and Bondi overall.

A meal box. They come with 16 pieces of sushi.
    Tyler L.

This is just a fast casual sushi place that is popular with the lunch and takeout crowd. It was started by Americans and they have a few locations in NYC. It is not a good place to go for high quality sushi but is meant for someone looking for something quick. If it was cheaper, I would give them another star but for what it is, this place is overpriced. One of their meal boxes is made up of 16 pieces of sushi. If you choose only one type of sushi roll, it is $20-$25. If you want to choose 4 different rolls for your 16 pieces, it is $27.50. Even for nowadays with rampant inflation, that is too much for a lunch that is not much better than sushi you can find in an Asian supermarket or food court.

Great handroll spot! Affordable, but doesn't skimp on quality of fish. Sit at the counter for better service / experience. Counter is pretty big so you should be able to snag a seat! The interior is very calming and makes for a great solo lunch spot. Make sure to get the spicy scallop, hands down one of the best in the city.

I started with the beet salad, which was delicious and offered great value given the generous portion size. it featured sliced beets, arugula, goat cheese, and walnuts. I also had my eye on the hijiki soybean salad--which is a bit smaller and reportedly homemade--so I may try that next time, along with the warm mushroom salad which looked very tasty.
