    Sake decanter

Thank you yelp for this one! Open late though when we walked in they quickly told us Kitchen is closing in 30 minutes. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. My daughter who is usually very picky even liked the simple Oden fishcake, said it was her favorite! The Oden egg was good too Pork katsu sando: perfectly seasoned with worcestershire sauce. We got the eel rice. was OK. I would've liked it a little crispier? pork curry udon, yummy. I even slurped up the curry because the flavor was that good They have this cool Sake decanter. I don't drink, but if I did, I totally would try this. ambiance: feel like you stepped into a secret place in Tokyo. Authentic, legit

This was such a cool experience! We saw this place on TikTok and was enamored by the fact you can order this chunk of tuna bone and scrape off the meat. We called ahead the day of our reservation to make sure this was available and also asked if we could reserve a piece for ourselves. The service at the restaurant was really great and everyone was so accommodating and polite. The main area of the restaurant is a very very long sushi bar and it felt very cozy. The food was incredible - fresh, delicious, and unique. We ordered a miso scallion dish which was miso paste mixed with aromatics and it surprised me with how delicious and umami it was despite being a jammy mixture of sorts. I still think about that tuna and miso a month later!

One of my favorite New York City restaurants. Call to make a reservation or sometimes can walk in. Highlights include pork sandwich, the sashimi platter is amazing and love scraping tuna off the bone. All the fish is fresh and high quality. Never ordered a bad dish here. Decent selection of sake. Good for date night! Love this place!

Amazing izakaya in nyc with great sake choices and authentic Japanese food! We ordered quite a few dishes because the portion sizes were small. - Hot pot with intestines: 9/10 (great creamy broth and good intestines) - Fried oyster: 10/10 (sooo good. The oyster was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside.) - Rice in cold broth: 10/10 (this was my favorite dish. The sauce was perfectly salty and the sashimi was good.) - Salmon sashimi: 7/10 (decent but the portion size is small) - Daikon and beef oden: 10/10 (solid oden with good broth) Vibes were casual and service was good. I'll definitely be back when I'm craving good sake and Japanese food!

Delicious sashimi. Highly recommend the red snapper. Ambiance is traditional japanese -- bar style or tables. Service is standoffish & snobby but professional & efficient. Excellent choice for Japanese in midtown east.

The food is authentic. I wouldn't say anything was wowing, but things were well prepared and classy. Service is good,.though it could be a bit more relaxed. Definitely make a reservation, as we walked in when they opened but they were definitely on us about leaving on time (even gave us a last call for food)

Greetings from California! I was recommended here through Instagram and was not disappointed. My partner and I ordered the mentai udon and the blue fin tuna rib. Starting with the mentai udon, the sauce was so creamy and the noodles were perfectly chewy. The udon was a 10/10 and savored every bite. The bluefin tuna rib was an unique experience. I had never experienced such and it was delicious. It was fresh, had a rich ruby red color and easy to spoon off the bone. Even eating the raw fish itself didn't have too "fishy" aftertaste but the soy sauce addition provided a perfect saltiness. In regards to allergies, the employees were very accommodating and understood cross-contamination of ingredients. They provided sufficient warnings of shrimp cross contamination which was really considerate of them. Now reservations-wise, my partner and I were not particularly aware of such until we had read the reviews. Thank goodness we read the reviews as the website and yelp page were not super informative on whether it is walk-in or reservations-based. We called 1-2hrs ahead and were lucky to get a 45min slot.

Photograph does not do the good justice! I had the wasabi marinated octopus and curry pork udon bowl and they were spectacular. Also had a nice glass of sake. Highly highly recommend this restaurant. The octopus had an incredible flavor that brought the wasabi forward without it being overwhelming. The curry udon was deeply flavorful without being heavy on the stomach. The staff were so kind and the ambiance was cozy and chill. I'm thrilled I came here and cannot wait to come back!

Came here after seeing the tuna bone on tiktok lol! It was definitely a fun experience and ended up being ~30 for the entire bone which was a decent deal for the amount of meat we scraped off! There was a good amount of meat on the bones and it was fun/satisfying to scrape it. We also liked the katsu sandos, soba noodles, and uni udon (in order of fav to least fav). Thought the grilled squid was below average/dry and the liver it came with was super fishy....overall a fun/nice place to try but prefer other Japanese or omakase spots.

My wife and I showed up shortly after they opened at 5:00pm on a Saturday and showed up without a reservation. Fortunately they were able to accomodate us. We came after seeing this place on social media and wanted to try their Bluefin Tuna bone as it was one of their hyped up dishes. Again, we were fortunate we ended up being the second customer as they only had two tuna bones available for the whole night and the first customer had already ordered one of them! We started off with the Japanese pickled vegggies (small and not really worth it) and the chicken gizzards, which were tasty and tender! Surprisingly the bluefin tuna bone was only about $34 that night as they sell per market price. Plenty of meat on the bones and it was definitely worth the hype! Our favorite dish of the night was definitely the Katsu Sandwich. The pork was deep fried fresh in front of us and paired so well with the bread and sauce. Hands down the best katsu sandwich we've had in NYC and even better than a lot in Japan!

Great restaurant with a very nice ambiance. The service was wonderful. We got there slightly before 5pm for dinner service. We made a reservation ahead of time and reserved the carving tuna bones. I was a bit worried since at the time of my reservation they said the tuna may not be available. The staffs were super polite and the chef was patient with me in explaining the food he was preparing. It was nice to have that kind of interaction. You can tell he took pride in the meals he prepared for us. Food wise - Tuna was fresh for $28 and it was fun carving it. Sashimi platter was nice too and the umi tasted some sweet and creamy. We also got the grilled squid and that was tended that came with a very sauce (it almost tasted like shrimp head - turn out it was the internal parts of the squid) equally delicious if you are into that type of flavoring - which I enjoyed. Then we had the udon with a creamy sauce (they were nice to split that into two bowl for us) - I really like this..the pink foam was great..did not know what it was but the experience and texture was amazing to me. Last we had the pork katsu sandwich- pork was thick and soft - sweet and crispy. Out of all the dishes this was probably one I would not get again because I wanted something different. We then ended the night with the match pena cotta and crem brûlée. Overall wonderful dinner and will come back to try the hotpot intestine.

There is no telephone number on Yelp , no Web site. Not on Resy or any other platform that I "had" to Google to find their phone number to reserve a table( just submitted to add their telephone number on Yelp). What a hassle but worth it in the end. They were not busy on Monday night so we were able to devour this unique classic Japanese food with a modern twist. Wonderful selection of sake. Tea. Izakaya menu. Most interestingly, the Bluefin Tuna on Bones. Scraping tuna off the bones was fun & enjoyable! Excellent service, intimate ambience, subtle decor. Upscale. Classy. Moderate price point. It's worth the visit. By the way, their telephone is 646-952-0364 for reservations .

To drink, I had a Hot Organic Super Matcha Tea for 4.95. It was alright tea, and I wish teas were included in the price point, as otherwise, this place feels pretty traditional. In terms of food, I only ordered from the seasonal menu, so I'm not sure how the rest of the dishes are, but from what I had, I would go back for a light traditional meal. My appetizer was the Dashimaki Tamago/だし巻まき卵たま, or sweet savory omelet with daikon for $6.98. This came with three pieces along with a little dollop of grated radish. The pieces had a light sweetness to them along with a bit of savoriness. They were juicy and a bit bouncy while maintaining some softness. This was standard and good. My main dish was the $19.98 Beef Tan Tan Udon, or ground sirloin beef, spicy broth, baby bok choy, kikurage mushroom, scallions, and sesame seeds. While I have preferred udon from spots like Raku, the udon had a mild chew to it, and they were still good. The broth had a mix of sweetness and spiciness with a nice depth of flavor. The vegetables inside tasted fresh, and the meat added some richness. This was good as well. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to go here, but the food was good. If you're in the area and looking for no frills Japanese dining in a more comfortable atmosphere at pretty decent Midtown East prices, I would recommend this place.

I got back from Japan 3 weeks ago, and the abundant access to high level Katsu ruined me. I can only equate it to growing up on Dominos Pizza, and then you have that first real quality brick oven pizza and you're like "oh there are really levels to this..." It takes a piece of your innocence that you will never get back. Big bro put a hand on my shoulder and said, "Lil Bro, I've already walked a mile in these shoes. We are going to Katsu-Hama." Next thing I know, we are on 47th street walking into what I can only describe as a wormhole straight to a restaurant in the bustling streets of Tokyo. We ordered the Berkshire Pork Loin Curry, with an extra cutlet each because we are big dawgs. Upon first bite, hope was restored. I could breath again. Beneath delicate crackles of the crisp golden shell, the pork was impossibly tender. The curry came in over the top with a gentle sweetness and depth to tie it all together. I hate to be a prisoner of the moment, but this was just as good, if not better, than any katsu I had in Japan.
