Cute little place that serves Mediterranean and Asian cuisine. It's order at the counter and there are a few tables to set at. I ordered the delicious Gyro plate which came with rice, hummus, salad, Pita bread and tzatziki. I also ordered a baklava for dessert which I didn't care for. Incredible find in the middle of an unremarkable small old shopping strip. My friend and I wanted Mediterranean, but didn't have time to head to Zoe's in Fairview. A quick Yelp search brought us to Blue Olive Grill. What to order? Anything. Really. I got the grilled chicken platter; my friend got the spicy chicken platter. Both featured tender, fresh chicken. His was quite hot - like sweat a little while you eat hot. A side of flavorful salad with house-made dressing, and a dollop of hummus with a drizzle of olive oil round out the plate. Sadly the takeout we just ordered via door dash was not as ordered. The Korma was not boneless, it was full of bones (see pictures) the chips cooked to a point but not fully crisp. Sadly we ordered from here 2 weeks back and it was amazing however this was a massive waste of $36 (inc delivery). Very very disappointed, more than half will go into the bin. The kids couldn't eat the boned curry. Coming from the UK they love a good curry but boneless should be boneless (FYI the odd bone is ok but this was terrible, seriously bad) FYI as per the feedback I did try to call however the place was closed and checking it closed at 7:46 and my call was 7:50 (I can attach a pic of the call record) From delivery to table was only had 20 - 30 mins. Sorry I didn't jump on the phone to complain and respond. My kiddo and I had lunch at Blue Olive the other day and it was really good! We ordered the dip plate that included baba ghanoush, hummus, and tzatziki. We couldn't decide what our favorite was... they were all so good! And there was plenty of pita bread, which made it even better! We each had some of the gyro ....plate and wrap.....both fantastic! When I drove into the parking lot of this place, my first instinct was to go somewhere else and not try it. Then I read the reviews and decided to give it a shot. It is super tiny and not fancy in any sense of the word. With that being said, it was fantastic! I have to say it was the best falafel I've ever had. Wanted to try something new and found this Mediterranean grill in Mckinney. I ordered the falafel appetizer to-go and didn't even make it back to work before opening it in the truck because it smelled amazing! I popped open the container and found nothing short of an appetizing set of 5 falafels (look like hush puppies) with a dipping sauce. Y'all, these things are SO good! Falafels were cooked perfectly as they had a crispy outside and soft fluffy center. The dipping sauce was full of flavor, refreshing with a little kick. I am giving 5 stars for this delicious food!! The only negative is the tables, chairs, and floors were all sticky. This made it feel dirty. I don't know if it WAS dirty or if it's the cleaner they use but I don't think I would enjoy eating inside because of this. read more

I have been here a couple of times, but my partner has been here uncountable times. It is his favorite, and he was the one introduce me to this fabulous place. My most recent visit, I decided to order something different in addition to our normal orders -- combo plate, gyro plate, and this time, we got the "Chicken Phal." We noticed the Indian section in addition to their Mediterranean section. Maybe we were a bit too hungry that day after a long drive, and not consumed any food for over 24 hrs. I felt like I have never eaten anything as flavorful and tasty as what that chicken phal. It was spicy, but it wasn't too spicy for me since I use a ghost pepper sauce occasionally in my food. But oh my goodness, the chicken phal is a must-try if you're into spicy stuff! Don't forget about the yummy combo plate though. Super delicious as always. They have a home-made style hot sauce too! read more

My wife was celebrating a birthday. All she asked for was a good mediterranean meal. I cast my search net wide (Dallas) to impress her. After reading through a handful of yelp reviews and swiping through countless pictures, my spidey senses brought us to the Blue Olive Grill. We made our way to the restaurant on a Saturday night (7:30). We were greeted by the host and sat down. She served us some water and took our orders. I went with the chicken kebab ($10.95) and my wife went with the kofta kabob ($10.95) and a side oder of baba ganoush ($7.00). About 10 minutes later, the baba ganoush comes out with a mountain of warm peta bread. The baba ganoush was nice and smokey with a great flavor. Soon after, the kebabs came out and we were ready to eat. The presentation of the food was excellent. The taste of the food was delicious, and the service was on point. The price of the food is reasonable because of the generous portions. On this night, we felt there were more people picking up orders than there were patrons. I appreciated a nice intimate dinner with my wife and will definitely be returning sometime for lunch. The dinning experience exceeded my expectations and this place is a hidden gem. read more

Ordered a very large take out order for my husband's birthday, but the order wasn't correctly made. When I reached out to the owner / manager / via Facebook (I tried calling, but no one answered) I was treated as an inconvenience & felt spoken down to. In this day & age w/ Covid limiting business, customers should be treated with the upmost amount of care. I don't recommend & I won't be returning. Updated with pictures of conversation after the lovely owner decided to respond. My youngest son is 15 & is on the autism spectrum, he also has food allergies. This was a special dinner for a family of 6. I didn't request a full refund, I requested a refund for the food that wasn't made according to the instructions requested at the time of ordering the food. Please do research before eating at or ordering from this establishment. Please read how the owner responds to complaints. There are several other amazing Greek restaurants in McKinney & Frisco where they treat their customers with respect. For me & my family, we'll chose to dine & order elsewhere. Small quiet little middle eastern place with;big flavor! Came in in Black Friday to an empty restaurant around 1:30pm. Kinda sad considering how delicous the food was. The lunch specials are from 11 till 2:30. Special on chicken, lamb, and beef shwarma, gyro, and platters. Definitely get on of those or it gets kinda expensive. The lunch deals come with rice, hummus, and salad. Neatly portioned on 4 sides of plate. The only problem was the salad came with dressing on it. Kinda over done in my opinion. Got the food in under 8 minutes and the food was fresh. Saw the griddle heat up. Too bad I don't live nearby, otherwise it would be a regular lunch spot! read more

This is my favorite Mediterranean restaurant North of George Bush. Hands down. My wife and I went all in for our first time and got the combo plate, gyro plate, dolmas and falafels. WAY too much food for 2 people and when we go back, we'll get a combo plate + one appetizer. As far as the quality goes, everything that we had was amazing. They have had to Americanize the salads because Greek salads are a foreign concept, but it still tasted good. 5 stars for sure! read more

If you're not interested in driving all the way to Dallas, this is one of the best places north of Richardson to get really good Mediterranean food. While it is a hole-in-the-wall, it's clean, the family and staff are always friendly when we come in or order out, and the food is always hot and delicious. It's an overall enjoyable experience. They are generous with the portion sizes and pita. I can definitely say we have enjoyed the vegetarian plates, lamb biriyani, and gyro. read more

Our first(of many to come) experience with Blue Olive was wonderful. We placed a takeout order through Yelp and within minutes they called to let us know the menu had changed since then. I got on their website and place an order there and they again called to see if I'd spoken to Grubhub to cancel the other order and get my refund yet. The woman on the phone could not have been nicer and they called and took care of cancelling things for me. Our food was ready quickly and my boyfriend says they were just as friendly in person. So A+++ for just service so far. The food was incredible. The hummus with olive tapenade was some of the best I've ever had. The dolmas were a perfect consistency and very tasty. I had the meat moussaka which came with more yummy hummus and a wonderful little salad with delicious dressing. My boyfriend got the lamb curry and it was incredible. Great flavor and excellent quality meat for a very reasonable price. All in all it was a fantastic experience. We can't wait to dine with them in person. read more
