Had a wonderful first experience at Hungry Platters. Zee was incredibly helpful and made the whole visit even better. Since it was our first time, he took the time to walk us through the options, really listened to what we were in the mood for, and made great suggestions. We had the Hungry Bowl with chicken and gyro, and it was excellent. The fries were crispy, thick-cut, and so good. The dolma was flavorful, and the walnut and almond baklava was a perfect dessert. My favorite was the rose water drink. It had such a nice subtle flavor and was not too sweet. Between the delicious food and Zee's friendly, attentive service, this was a fantastic first visit. 3 stars. The prices were honestly really fair, especially compared to Austin where these same dishes would probably be another $5-7 more each. I tried both the wrap and the salad bowl, and while the portions were solid, the flavor of the meat was pretty middle of the road at best. The spices and seasoning just felt bland overall and neither dish really stood out. The sauces were definitely the highlight and added a lot more flavor than the meat itself. One small thing that also felt odd was getting water in a tiny plastic Dixie cup. Not a deal breaker, but it added to the overall average experience. I visited this restaurant with the hope that it would offer a good gyro wrap. It was an incredibly poor imitation of a gyro. What was worse was the order of french fries: entirely limp and flavorless. The highlight of the meal was the fountain soft drink. The posted positive reviews are impossible to believe based upon my experience. How this restaurant stays in business is a mystery to me. I would have been better off going to McDonald's. Restauranteurs should have pride in their businesses. Don't patronize this establishment. read more

I'm so glad we gave Hungry Platters another shot after a couple years. Delicious, fresh, flavorful food with very kind amd friendly service. Love the gluten free options also. Kefta was amazing and worth the 12min wait. Chicken kebab was flavorful and fresh grilled. Veggies were all crisp and sauces flavorful. Hummus and baba ganoush both delicious. Amd of course you can't beat both walnut and almond baklava. Wish I had taken photos of everything before we ate it all. read more

I am completely blown way (and angry) by all the positive reviews because our experience was the exact opposite. We ordered four platters, priced from $16.95 to $19.95 each, with customizations and they ended up looking like Cava-style meals--except we were still hungry afterward. The chicken Kebob was FOUR bites (not exaggerating). The Greek salad was romaine lettuce and nothing else. You can use one of your toppings for Feta cheese any other components that vaguely resembles a Greek salad are all absent. "Toppings" are teaspoons of whatever you choose; three toppings mean three teaspoons. We spent $87 for four platters and a gyros and we were still hungry afterward. I used to love the food here, but things have changed quite a bit, and it's just not what it used to be. The consistency of the new recipes seems to change daily, and the portions on the platters have shrunk. Every time I go, the spicy/hummus, jalapeño feta and potatoes taste different. We ordered the beef and chicken platter: The rice was flavorless and the meat was tasteless , the only saving grace in the platter is the Babaghanoush, they gave us babaghanoush when we asked for spicy hummus in the platter And the falafel salad bowl: the bowl didnt have much of salad, just some lettuce cut up small with dried seasoning, the babaghanoush and falafel were really good- the best we have had so far,the potatoes were alright If they improved their portion sizes versus prices and the flavors on the meats and rice , I would frequent this place, we drove 10 miles to try this place but were disappointed read more

Everything was bad quality- ordered a platter with beef/lamb gyro- the meat was dry and some pieces were hard- almost inedible. The topping feta tasted store bought and not authentic. The base of "lemon potatoes" were so heavily lemon flavored that you can't eat more than a bite or so. The side "Greek salad" is just lettuce with a small sprinkling of tomato and maybe one red onion- no feta, olives, or dressing?! You can't call that a salad, let alone Greek salad. The baba ganoush was ok but served without any pita- so are we supposed to eat it with a spoon? You know it's bad when you can't even finish the meal. Waste of money. read more

This tiny restaurants has big flavors and a big menu. Something for everyone. And, while not labeled as vegan, it is a vegan paradise in a charred animal flesh state. I got a platter with fresh crisp lettuce, crunchy falafel, 3 toppings (things like cucumbers, red cabbage and some home cooked chickpeas that had a divine texture and flavor. Also include 3 sauces - try the olive oil and vinegar. Plus 3 kinds of hummus (also silky smooth) and the best pita bread I've had in decades - fresh off the flattop. Service was great too and they were able to tell me what was vegan and not. Added a delightful dolma for a buck. Their prices were very fair given the fresh quality of all the ingredients. If you're not vegan, try the gyros etc. and the lovely Greek pastries in the case that I could only look at and drool. They had 8 or so tables inside, but I took mine to go. Highly recommend you try this place - support your local restaurants instead of national chains with mass produced "food." read more

Loved the side options that come along with the platters. The pita bread was just okay, not much flavor. I've had better. The sauces we tried were spicy hummus (I enjoyed it mixed in with the gyro platter, but not alone with pita), tzatziki (really runny, I prefer it thicker), and the spicy jalapeño feta dip (this one was great, definitely only getting this option for sauce in the future). We ordered Gyro Wraps online from the Prosper location on University. Employees were nice and order was ready when we arrived to pickup. However, the food was actually cold even though it was picked up 15 minutes after the order was placed. I might add also, the wraps were loaded with vegetables with little meat. Tried this place recently while looking for some gyro meat and platters. The prices themself are very reasonable given you get a decent amount of food. You shouldn't leave hungry. We came in the evening and tried the gyro platter. The meat was really delicious. I wish it would have been just cut at that moment because it's super good then but overall, really nice flavor. Some of the sides are pretty bland, or where just cooked a bit off. Like the seasoned potatoes were somewhat hard, definitely could have used a few more minutes being cooked. And the corn has zero seasoning which was ok if you're into that, but they could have at least added a touch of salt! Everything else though was great. Look forward to trying more options! read more

I was hungry and didn't feel like cooking so I was looking for a healthy option for dinner this particular night. I remembered about Hungry Platters when they first opened and I haven't been back since then. I got the hummus platter with chicken. When I got home I realized they had put A LOT of hummus in the platter but I had no pita bread. I thought it came with it but maybe I didn't read that right so I was was eating it normally. From catching the guy at the register, wipe his nose with his BARE hands, to then see him cooking the gyro meat with one hand on the side of his leg, also grabbing foil with the same bare hand he wiped his nose with, made me want to vomit.
