We treated our friends from Austria to a seafood dinner at the Blue Pointe after they graciously hosted us for a spring vacation at their holiday home in the Fort Meyers area. I was completely satisfied with our meal. We started the evening with glasses of cold beer and several appetizers -- a sushi roll, some steamed clams, and an oyster sampler. Everything was good, but since the place bills itself as an oyster bar -- I was particularly interested in the oysters. The platter of oysters were neatly shucked and properly nestled on a bed of crushed ice. They offered three sauces including a classic mignonette. The oysters were fresh and briny. No complaints here about price or quality. For our entrées three of us ordered grilled grouper and one ordered grilled mahi mahi. Everyone's fish tasted fresh and was cooked to the correct stage of doneness. Our sides of "Shanghai sticky rice" and sweet potato fries were acceptable -- though not outstanding. We finished off the evening with chocolate molten lava cake and coconut cheese cake. Though rather ordinary, they satisfied our craving for sweets. I've had more interesting and creative seafood dishes at restaurants with Michelin stars -- but for those who are looking for a decent Florida style seafood dinner at a fair price the Blue Pointe Oyster Bar & Seafood Grill should do nicely. read more

Awesome happy hour specials including $1.75 oysters and a great deal on shrimp cocktail. Solid wine selection ranging from$4 to $6 a glass. Happy hour swarm usually occurs around 530 so get there early if you want to avoid the crowds. read more

Just had a quick dinner here. We had several of the happy hour apps, blackened grouper bites, and a Caesar salad. The apps were good. The grouper had a very strong pepper taste, not horrible just felt like it could be toned down a bit. Both pieces of my bread had those fuzz strands inside them when I broke them apart so I'm assuming they are made in house and the fuzz from someone's apron got caught up in them so I had to stop eating them. My main reason for the 3 stars is there were 3 women CACKLING at the bar. Like beyond obnoxious and all of the patrons I could see, including us, were covering our ears and none of the staff or management said anything. We had long days at work and came for a quick bite before heading home and that's far from relaxing. I felt like I was in a frat bar, and if I were then it would be expected and acceptable. But I was not. We were quick to finish our meal so we could away from that obnoxiously loud cackle. read more

Disappointed with service. A Birthday party for 6 ladies, 1pm on Monday. Seated outside, Chilly so we requested heater turned on, it was broke. They crowded us into a booth inside. Time to order, 2 House Cabernet, $16.00 per glass. Order Lobster Bisque received Clam Chowder. Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail ( 5 pieces on ice). Total $58.00 plus tip. A great experience from start to finish! Johnny was an attentive server. Friendly and available thru out our visit. The crab cake was one of the best we've had. My breaded sole had a very light lemon caper sauce... light enough for taste but not overpowering. My side of Mexican style street corn in cast iron skillet was scrumptious. Our favorite part were the tablet menus... easy to click on the details and photo of each entree and the suggested wine pairing. Plus you could easily read in low lighting without glasses! I can't say enough about the whole experience from service, ambience, food quality and presentation. We are highly l picky New York dinners... we were super impressed! read more

Been there twice in the past couple of weeks. The quality of the food and the preparation are outstanding. The brussels sprouts appetizer is so unbelievably good that it must be tried. We also had crab cakes, grouper, fish (haddock) tacos, and all were excellent. We were served by Justin whose knowledge of the menu is extensive. For first time visitors we recommend listening to his suggestions. We feel that pricing is reflective of the quality received. We love Blue Pointe Oyster Bar. read more

My husband and I loveee Blue Pointe Oyster Bar! Their oysters are always tasty. We usually try to go for happy hour. We like to sit at the bar and have some wine. The alamos is well priced and tasty. Also don't miss out on trying their miso glazed Chilean sea bass. It is delicious. read more

We had a wonderful experience dining at Blue Pointe. Our server was so helpful. She guided us selecting the oysters that we like and they were delicious. We enjoyed appetizers. Someone in our party had a grouper sandwich and also the seafood gazpacho. Every thing was just delicious and the service was impeccable. We dined outside which was very pleasant. I really thought that ordering at 5:16 PM for dinner order to be delivered by at least 6:30 PM would be reasonable. Not only was not delivered until an hour later at 7:15 PM there was there zero communication except for the communication I initiated by calling the restaurant., The woman I spoke to was unapologetic and blamed a system error and said she just received our order at that time 6:15 PM one hour later than I had placed it.She said there was a communication issue from the delivery service to the restaurant. Our food arrives, cold, and honestly you would think she would've thrown Something in there, maybe a brownie or some thing just her humor us. For the amount of money we spent , it was a major disappointment. read more

This has been one of my favorite restaurants to come to for probably 20 years. Today, the service was very slow and horrible, even though they weren't that busy. An older lady that was sitting outside had to come up to the bar and ask for a waitress to come to them, before they left. I was never asked if I wanted a menu when served my first drink and once they did finally ask me, it took forever for the food to come out, once I ordered it. To top all of this off, the mashed potatoes were instant. INSTANT MASHED POTATOES. I won't be back. read more

Food was really good and so was my cocktail. Chris the bartender was attentive and kind. Didn't like how some woman named Terry came in and sat at a table doing paper work and shouting stuff out. It was very unprofessional and we were confused why the back of the bar was being run like an office. We noticed tables sat dirty the whole time we ate and multiple staff just stood around. Waiting on Terry. We won't be rushing back. Plenty of other places to get oysters and grouper sandwiches that feel like a proper restaurant all around. read more

First class dining for Fort Myers. The Lake Erie Perch is top notch, as are the Brussels Sprouts. But my favorite is the blue cheese Cole Slaw!!! We take all of our visitors to this fine establishment. I cannot wait to return. read more

Very disappointed with the experience tonight. Was my 69th birthday. Husband made reservation for outside. The stuck us in a back booth across from restrooms. Ask to move to a different table. The food was ok. I had 6 blue point oysters. Not the best I've ever had. Ordered at 5:30 PM off the happy hour menu. They were supposed to be $15. Not sure why I was charged $16.50. I had blackened grouper with a side of mashed potatoes. The grouper itself was good but it was thickly encrusted with spices. A bit too thick and really spicy to the point where I had to scrape them. The coleslaw comes with the meal but you can "upgrade" to a side salad. Weird. So I didn't upgrade and they brought the coleslaw to the table 10 minutes before the meal. I figured it would come WITH the meal as a second side. A few minutes later, the waiter asks, "you don't like the coleslaw"? I said, " I'm waiting for my meal so I can eat it together." Nowhere have I seen them bring the coleslaw out like it's an appetizer salad. Weird. He offered to refresh it for me and bring it with the meal. Well...duh. It has blue cheese in it. It tasted good. My husband had a burger. Dunno why since it's a seafood restaurant but that's just cuz he wanted a burger. Anyway, the meal was ordinary and not worth the prices charged. read more

We were in for happy hour a few nights ago. Drinks were on point. We ordered the bottle of Josh Cabernet. At $11 dollars a glass it makes a $36 dollar bottle seem like a steal. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich. It came out and was gone before I got a bite. He mumbled something inaudible while inhaling it. We can trust it was cooked to his liking. My favorite thing on this menu is the soup. If you order don't hold back - the bacon crumbles on top make it. The combo of hot and savory with the fresh buttery rolls is a happy moment for the soul. The Brussels are a strong side order. My favorite main course here is Paella for two. The wine list has a few reds but is stronger on the white wine side of the fence. They do have a corking fee. You can bring your own bottle to drink so long as it's not offered for sale on their menu. Service is prompt. They know how to turn tables and have been doing it well for a number of years. Only advice would be to ditch the electronic menus, they complicate parts of dining out that are otherwise pretty simple. read more

4 stars for the food, 5 for the service. Our waiter was very kind and made our experience a real joy. I haven't dined inside a restaurant since March so i was nervous but it was so hot that I didn't have any desire to eat outdoors. It wasn't busy at all, which was a treat for us, but not for them. Our server convinced us to get the crab stuffed avocado and it was SO delicious. I am often in ft Myers for work, and I'll def be back for that dish. read more

My family and I dined here for dinner last night. We have been here sporadically over the years and I was reminded last night why it remains off our regular rotation of restaurants. Every piece of fish we ordered (sole, grouper, fish and chips) were under-sized, under-seasoned and severely over cooked. My 5 year old even refused to eat his fish (a favorite food item for him), stating "Mom, this is really dry." For the $$$ these dishes should easily be excellent. Unfortunately, they missed the mark by a long shot. We didn't feel it was right to complain at the time as the table behind us was already chewing off the Managers ear about sub-par clam chowder. On a positive note, the coconut shrimp w/ lightly sweet and herby sauce were very good. The bread was also a highlight. read more

The meal started out frustrating, but the staff pulled it out in the end. The meal started by us receiving our tablet menus. Technology is great when it works, but three dead batteries later, we finally could view the menu. We ordered cocktails and appetizers. The cocktails were watered down and lacked flavor, and the appetizers looked nothing like the menu. The lobster bites were tiny (yet $15) and the restaurant served one full size oyster and pawned off the smallest ones on us for the rest of the order ... not worth $3 each. The staff did take our cocktails back without charge and replaced with nice wine, brought out some full size oysters and did not charge for the appetizer, so I cannot complain that they made things right (and the entree was wonderful). Summary: I would choose a different restaurant and avoid the frustration. read more

This is the 3rd time I have been to this restaurant. What I like most about it is that you can just stroll over there after watching a movie or two . I also love how their menu is presented as a tablet (iPad) and you can click on a name to see what the food looks like (great visual effect) and if you forget the name of what you've ordered in the past, that is a great way to remember. The customer service was great. The food is very good and can be on the expensive side. But there are many affordable options on the menu. Their Brussels sprouts is a must have!!!! Will recommend for a date night. read more

Great experience. Was in town and walked over from hotel. Glad I did. Tried the oyster sampler during happy hour! They have happy hour, $4 craft beers. Still hungry ate some shrimp. Drank more happy... then ate an amazing Caesar salad with Salmon. Fish grilled to perfection, dressing freshly made. Staff was great, shout out to Mike (bartender)and Terry (manager). Terry took time to chat and was able to complement how good this place was and thank her. Strongly recommend you give it a try. PS like the tablet menues read more

Fantastic! The Parmesan crusted flounder was superb--perfectly cooked and flavorful, delicious sauce with capers, 2 good-sized pieces. They allowed me to substitute in Brussels sprouts, which were delicious (but a little sweet for my taste.) The soft rolls were warm and tasty. The entrees came with cole slaw, which was served as a first course. Much better than normal slaw, with lots of flavor. (My parents would prefer it if they made it without onions, but I loved it as is.) We were too full for dessert. All the service was friendly, from the hostess to the waiter to the manager. read more

My wife and I just had a great dinner here. On a Monday night, we got seated immediately, but there was a wait if you wanted an outside table. We had two cocktails: a grilled pineapple Mojito and a raspberry margarita ($11 each). Both were excellent. The bread was warm and delicious. For my entrée I had twin lobster tails which were grilled to perfection. My wife had the fish tacos upgraded to grouper and she loved them. We split a piece of Key Lime pie for dessert. It was good, but not great. The atmosphere was relatively quiet and pleasant and the service was good. Total bill with taxes and tip was just about $100. read more

Got sat quick calamari was rubbery our server never check on us even when food was drop off food was not worth the price deafly understand if the server is training someone but not to be checked on once on your entire meal and just want to keep on racking up the price on our order for dessert and stuff as a joke do not get the lobster roll read more

Why 3 women are needed is up to management. We will be back to Firestone but we hope management rewards those that should be rewarded and not keep so many useless employees

The restaurant turned out to be unlike any other that I've ever been to. When I say, "one of a kind", I mean it. I'll try to describe it, but I'm sure I'll fall a bit short. The restaurant looks like a crazy jumble of different furniture, fairy lights, and inside and outside seating. Even the inside seating, though covered, is open to the outside patio. The same owner, originally from the Boston area, is still the operator. You enter from the back parking lot. Definitely no need to stand on ceremony or dress up here. There's a large screen TV on the outside patio and it looks like they have music there occasionally, as well. Service was wonderful. Very personable and welcoming. And the bar, is self service (!), You help yourself to soda, or beer or wine, or whatever you wish to drink. At the end of the meal, they ask you what you had and they add it to your bill. Talk about a true honor system. The dining part is slow paced and leisurely. This is not the place for a fast food meal. A little while after we ordered, we were given two small plates with seasoned grilled swordfish pieces along with a chili dipping sauce and several pieces of ahi tuna to share. This was complimentary. And a while later we were given a large plate of lightly battered fried vegetables along with another dipping sauce -- also to share and also complimentary. After another bit, we received some wedges of pita bread along with a peanut dipping sauce (another comp appetizer) to share. For our main entrees, we had between us: crab cakes, soft shell crabs, a seafood casserole, and fish (scrod) and chips. Dishes came with potato wedges or pasta. We all liked what we ordered. For dessert, we were given "Irish" cannoli -- a sugared cannoli topped with lots of whipped cream -- that was sweet and yummy. Again, complimentary. The server brought out shot glasses to give each of us an after-dinner cordial that was a secret blend made by the owner. So if you're up for a one of kind evening, and you're laid back and mellow, you will thoroughly enjoy this unusual and addictive treasure of a venue. This is another "keeper" that I hope is still there the next time we are in town.

Charming interior design, love the abundance of art work on the walls. We ordered tuna crudo, goat cheese stuffed crepes and wagyu burger - all were delicious and beautifully plated! We also tried their banana and pecan strudel for dessert - yum! Next time, I'm definitely trying their goat cheese cheesecake though! Service was extremely attentive and informative. We learned a bit more about the chef and the story of this restaurant and even got meet Chief, the friendliest most adorable dog guarding the restaurant - just kidding, he was just hanging out there. Highly recommend it if you're open to trying new flavors and interesting food combinations. Cocktails are fun too. Mixing bold flavors and a generous pour.

Excellent selection of beers on tap - had local amber IPA and wheat beers - perfectly weather appropriate and refreshing. Never had clam chowder there before - it was very good.
