New house for me, but this 20+ year old system was installed by the previous owner and had an unknown maintenance record. Brian made a quote for a replacement heater (old one was beyond serviceable, with no parts available), controller (upgrade to wifi) and pump (old one quite leaky) based on photos that were shared. But when he got to the house and began to dismantle the old system, it became clear that other parts - the actuators and filter - were also faulty. He wasn't making it up - I could easily see the troubles he pointed out. And further, the original installation was done dangerously, with wiring problems and code violations. At this point we were both frustrated of course. More money, more time. After reviewing the situation, Brian presented several options with pricing, and we took a day to think it through. In the end, he was able to properly rewire the pool controller from the main house circuit panel, and I believe the resulting charges were reasonable. At each step, Brian explained the decision to be made and possible outcomes. He was trustworthy. I didn't choose to make all of the changes that were recommended - the pool lights don't all work and won't any time soon. But I have a solid estimate of what that will take and a reliable company to go to when it is time. Ken came to clean the neighbors pool. The neighbor has room for about 8 cars / trucks in their driveway. Instead of Ken parking in the customers driveway or on the main street, Ken chose to park behind my driveway and make it difficult, if not impossible, for us to exit our driveway while his truck was parked behind it. As the Neighbors had just moved in, I *assumed* that Ken would be back and apparently didn't know he was 1) parked in a NO parking Alleyway; 2) blocking us in which could result in damage to my vehicle or his; and 3) it's garbage day and our garbage and the neighbor's garbage would not be picked up while his truck was blocking and parked in the NO parking alley. I'm not sure what was wrong with Ken today, but he literally said "I call Bullshit" that this is an alley and that I can't park here - and insinuated - you should be able to maneuver out of your driveway. I've lived here for 12 years. The Alley is not a public street because it is not WIDE enough to be a public street. Hence why it is a no Parking Alley. When I suggested he actually park in the neighbors driveway - which had PLENTY of room - he asked if he was "allowed" to park in their driveway???? Given the choice of parking behind a someone's driveway - potentially setting him and us up for accidental damage to our vehicles or actually parking in a clients driveway - his choice was to swear at me, basically call me a liar and be exceedingly rude.... Yep - this is a guy who takes customer service seriously, right ?

We had committed to having our pool resurfaced, just prior to our limited rainy season. By the time work was started, the rain was upon us. Mike, the owner, kept us informed of delays, and updated us on the estimated start and completion dates during the various stages. We continued to receive progress reports during the entire project. Perhaps one of the things that I most admired about Mike is that he stood by his work. During the removal of the old surfaces, a couple of PVC parts from the attached jacuzzi were broken. Mike accepted responsibility for the damage, and promised to repair/replace them. The pool was built in the '70s, and some items are no longer available. Mike unsuccessfully continued to search for the replacements, even out of state. Finally, he located someone locally who would fabricate the parts.
