This is kind of an odd review and is meant particularly for one person, but, I felt like it should be communicated. I had a gentleman named Wade come to my door today offering information about Blue Raven and Solar in general. To make a long story short, I did not move forward with Blue Raven. This was NOT because of the company or anything under their control, me and my family were just simply not in the time or place to move forward. The reason for my review is to state how RESPECTFUL Wade was. I never got any pressure when I declined a second appointment, all I got was a "No problem". As someone who has worked in customer service for a LONG time I appreciated Wade's care and understanding. I'm sure by him not wasting his time trying to close the sale on me he closed 4 in the same amount of time. Hats off to respectful salesman, my hats off to Wade. read more

Service is a scam, no reliable number to call and speak with direct scheduling person to get a date or follow up about getting a date. When i call their support (dozens of calls which I have documented) starting FEBRUARY 2026 after new roof completion, to reinstall my panels EVEN AFTER I PAID THE THOUSANDS OF $ for their warranted reinstall. Sometimes I was on hold 30 minutes to 3 hours and got no one. Other times I was told they know I am on list to be scheduled but they cannot speak to scheduler nor can I. I asked if I call back in one week for an update could they let me know, and they said no. WHEN REINSTALL FINALLY SCHEDULED MAY 26, 2026 the technicians arrived and I gave them the box of reinstall components that sunworld/blue raven sent. These attachments weren't the necessary items SO THEY COULD NOT INSTALL MY PANELS. THE KIND TECHNICIAN ALSO DID NOT HAVE ACCESS TO CALL SCHEDULER OR COORDINATOR DIRECTLY. THEY HAD ALREADY BEEN TO ANOTHER PROJECT EARLIER IN NEIGHBORHOOD THAT DAY AND CAME UPON THE BOX OF WRONG COMPONENTS SENT TO THAT JOB TO REINSTALL PANELS. What kind of company treats their paying customers with sub standard consideration and service. TWO WEEKS LATER, I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM the company or received new attachments. I went to website and AI Evan gave me a customer support number to call: 855-608-5036 specific to my query to reinstall panels after roof replacement. I shouldn't have been disappointed ONCE AGAIN THAT IT WASNT EVEN A WORKONG NUMBER. Lastly, the technicians driving the BLUE RAVEN SOLAR van QUALIFIED TO DO WARRANTY INSTALL OF PANELS expressed concern about not being paid for work if they don't install panels. Being a RN, I am outraged by a company that has no accountability for mismanaged products and services. This is why unions are required and wouldn't need to be, if companies would treat consumers and employees fair like companies owners and shareholders want to be. I have never written a review online and I hate to spend time and energy doing it. A friend of mine last year got a solar system with Blue Raven Solar, so as I was interested in going solar, they got me in touch with Luke, who is the solar system designer / sales person. By the time I had my first (virtual) meeting with Luke I already had talked to several local installers who gave me quotes between $2.14 -$2.4/W. Even though I told Luke that I am familiar with solar and the incentives, he pitched his talk like you would to convince someone to go solar - which I already was - okay, not listening to me, so I'll let him do his spiel. The first quote he gave me was substantially higher than the offers I had. When I asked him for the price per watt, he said he didn't know what that was - really? So I calculated it for him, it was $3.4/W. I told him respectfully that this is much higher than the offers I had. I told him I can pay cash and he said he will see what can do. So far so good. He got back to me with this "amazing news" where he increased the system size without increasing the price. It was still above $3/W. The design was not great. He left some areas of my most productive roof void of panels because of small vents, that all other solar companies told me you could cut short and put panels on top. When I asked him about that, he said they couldn't do that. In all his communication he hailed their equipment as superior, while in fact every other offer I got was using the same equipment: Silfab 440W and Enphase IQ8A. I few days later I told him I decided to not go forward with them. He replied that he is determined to be my solar provider and what it would take. I told him I had done my research and had made my decision and asked him to please respect that. Any other company would accept that. Not blue raven though. Luke kept harassing me, telling me about yet a better deal - yet still 40% higher than the offers I ultimately went with - telling me that my friend would profit if I went with them (due he referral bonus) and so would I if all my neighbors would go with Blue Raven. He also mentioned that I should be wary of local installers as they might not be around after a couple of years, which I thought was funny, because the companies I talked with have been around for 20+ years, while Blue Raven was just founded 11 years ago. Even after I told him I already signed a contract, he kept pestering me, telling me contracts can be cancelled free of charge in the first 3-10 days - That's pretty rich! I am not sure why he thought I would consider doing something that. Later I found out that Luke even contacted my friend to talk me out of going with another company!!! That's insane, I have never seen such an unserious company! Since I didn't go with Blue Raven, I cant say anything about the quality of their work. I can't speak for other peoples experience but i am happy with the service and install from blue raven who FYI is owned by sunpower now. So it's called blue raven powered by sunpower. I talk to a lot of Solor company's and they are all pretty much the same , except for some like blue raven who are a trust ally with the Oregon energy trust which help my decision making. Price was more than fair I went with a PPA since there is no more tax credit available. I am saving money already and did not have to take out a loan. I would recommend them to anyone trying to save money on their electricity bill. I think being owned by sunpower could have changed how they operate, because James , Danny and Roberto and I think the other guys name was Franco. All professional and new there stuff I did a lot of research and have sat down with many company's. These guys knew there stuff and the install came out great even had my roofer buddy check the roof after the install and he said everything look great. read more

We had a 12 panel array installed in Western Ohio in 2023 by Blue Raven Solar. The install process was easy, permitting had no issues, system go live was seamless. The main problem was we paid probably twice to three times more than the system is worth, and we were naïve and didn't know any better at the time. Props to Mic on being a good salesman. This was a lesson learned on our part and I'm writing this to hopefully help others negotiate the price and do your home work before committing. On a yearly average we spend around $900 on Electric in Western Ohio. After solar, we're down to about $220. On the surface, sounds great, but when I calculated the financed amount after the tax credit, we're at about a 30 year pay back. I'm pretty sure I was told 7 years in the sales pitch. It's hard to know when you're committing to purchase the system how well the panels will produce to offset your electric costs. In my case, 30 years doesn't cut it. We were also told that solar increases home resale by 4% average. In Ohio, not many care about solar. To boot, we had to pay off the remaining loan to sell the house, no one wanted to take on the remaining loan. We fortunately sold the house, and paid off the solar loan, so the take away is to not fall for this again, and we can feel good that we're helping the next family with their reduced electric bills. I am not anti-solar, just anti-price gauging and misleading sales tactics. In hindsight, Blue Raven Solar swindled us into paying way more for this system than it was worth or was going to help us get to Net Zero. Buying more panels would help the offset, but the payback time would just scale. Hoping the helps others considering solar to heavily negotiate. Plan for somewhere in the 66% reduction in electric bill range (depends on your region too I guess - Ohio is not Florida or California), and how many years you'd have to pay to reach breakeven. We first met with the sales rep from blue Raven on August 22, 2025. We signed a contract and made an $11,700 deposit on September 16. Because we needed a new roof, we used their preferred installer (who did a great job). We kept blue Raven informed of the roofing schedule, and even though it was behind schedule, they said "you will be fine" The roof was complete on November 17, 2025. We sent messages for installation dates and were told that there was a slow slowdown because of shortage of solar panel panels. We appealed for a cancellation on several dates in December because we would not be able to get the IRS credit. Finally on December 15, 2025 a cancellation was approved and told to contact them if a refund was not received by January 31, 2026. Several messages were sent to blue Raven at the end of January and the refund has not yet come. We are filing claims with the contractor licensing board of Oregon the state Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau. It is now February 15 and we have heard nothing about a refund. This company will scam you and threaten to hold any compensation owed due to negative reviews posted. Which is a clear violation of the Consumer Review Fairness Act of 2016. An employee by the name of Maddie Barlow, will lie to you and then completely stop communicating with you. The BBB of Salt Lake City Utah has even contacted them about the violation and they apparently don't care. I still have not received the money owed to me. Do not use this company. They bully people into removing negative reviews to make themselves look good. Which is illegal. Not only will they bully you. I emailed him and he apologized and asked for a good time to come by. He never showed up or emailed me back. Second person came by, but he instilled no confidence as he had to call in to headquarters every other question to get an answer. Nice guy, but clueless, and again, no follow up. Where to begin... I had sought proposals for rooftop solar from multiple providers, and most were happy to use roofing assessment tools to determine the number of panels that could be installed and the likely cost. Blue Raven insisted that their offering would be superior, but would require an in-person consultation. Alas, this was not to be. I wasted 30 minutes of my time in accommodating the appointment that was insisted upon whilst educating the representative about how solar actually works. I was also told that energy storage was "not a good idea". A week later, I was told that the design for my home solar was ready, however said design needed to be presented in person. When said design was presented, it clearly did not comply with setback requirements (when I raised this concern, the representative said I was confused), ignored the skylights my home featured, and was offered at a price of 50% more than a comparatively-priced system that actually featured energy storage. I received a follow-up via SMS from someone new to Blue Raven asking if I was still interested in their proposal. When I told said person that they'd overquoted me massively, they responded with statements about new Federal Tax Breaks (a lie), new financing options (irrelevant), and that my information was "out of date", with no offer of updating their proposal. Installed on 1/19/19 and roof leaks began 3 months later and before actual panels 'turned on'. Roof leaks numbered 3 more amid numerous requests to company to fix. Most requests went unanswered until 1/21 when an employee came out and accepted responsibility for problem and a month later a crew came out and took panels off. Then a month later they decided that they would not fix our interior damage even though they sent someone out to assess. Now they have refused contact and our losses increase daily. Almost none of my solar panels are operational and I've been reaching out to customer service for 3 weeks now trying to schedule a tech to service them. Apparently they've exited the Texas market and left the customers they sold their product to high and dry. I'm now paying for useless solar panels and utilities, and every time I talk to customer service there has been no progress on even scheduling a tech to service the panels and that I need to be patient. There's been a travel ticket in for a week and a half for service on my house. How many weeks does it take to even schedule service? If I could give them ZERO stars I would. Whatever you do, do not let one of Blue Raven Solar's sales people into your home. They will lie and manipulate you into agreeing to move to the next step, which they state is simply a roof inspection to see if you even qualify for their solar system, but in actuality they are having you agree to the whole damn system. The sales rep that was sent to our house (Jordan Perry) distract us by focusing on pedaling us a loan for the solar system without going into detail about the actual solar system. We had originally reached out to Portland General Electric (PGE) because we were interested in a solar system with a battery back up. I was told I would be put in touch with three solar companies that could do this. Somehow Blue Raven got our info and reached out to us even though they don't provide this service. I wasn't informed this by them until I had already been tricked into letting one of them into our home. We were asked to sign paper work that would lead us to the next stage of the process which we were told by Jordan Perry would simply be inspecting our roof to see if we were even valid candidates for a solar system. Stupidly we did not thoroughly read the "contract" he was actually having us sign, as he rushed through it and swept it under the rug as simply a formality. We told him that we were still shopping around with other vendors and he encouraged us to do that, even knowing full well he had tricked us into going into contract with them. The roof inspection came and went and we never heard back from them if we qualified or not, but they started sending inquiries for our most recent electric bill. I shrugged these off thinking I needn't respond as they knew we were still shopping around. WRONG. They were busy pulling permits on our house. We were shocked. And I've never felt so taken advantage of by a person/company who we had let into our home. I will not make this mistake again and unfortunately we ended up not only having to pay for this experience through all the stress they cause but also financially, as they charged us for the work we had not knowingly signed up for. I have waited 14 months to write a review. We have not seen a decrease in our electric bill. I have brought this to the electric company and Blue Raven and they each point fingers at each other. When having a consumption meter installed by Blue Raven, it took the system offline and now they want me to purchase a cell kit to get it back online as they cannot connect to my wifi, which had no problems prior. I asked Blue Raven representative if I can receive a written proposal before committing my time to the meeting. The representative and his boss refused claiming that they have never heard of such request and that their company policy is not to do it. I asked if they need to ask me any specific questions, but they had no questions, but simply did not want to share anything written before the meeting. I acquiesced to have the meeting without prior reception of the proposal. I asked that a meeting link is provided. They said it will be sent to me half an hour before the meeting. The link never came. I contacted them and couple minutes after the scheduled meeting time they asked that I call them because they do not have my contact. The sales representative still did not share the proposal with me by the time we started the meeting. He said he had sent it to me, but when I asked him the address he sent it to, he was not sure. Many things can go wrong when contracting solar service, but in this particular case I experienced disorganization, lack of flexibility and basic customer service at the very initial stage. How can Blue Raven brag about customer service if they do not agree to the most basic request and do not listen to feedback. From the very beginning I felt as if I am expected to provide the company customer service, rather than vice versa. There are many solar companies around. I am sure there will be worse, but why to give your hard earned thousands of dollars to them. Do your research and if anything raises your red flags, move on to another company until you find at least five that do not raise any of your red flags. read more

Don't go SOLAR. Not sure where to start. We decided to go solar and a couple of neighbors used Blue Raven so we went with them. The first two months, everything was fine. Our bill had decreased. Then all of a sudden we receive a notice saying our system wasn't communicating to the gateway (ergo-not communicating with the utility company). So we called and tried everything to get the system to communicate and nothing. Spent over 4 hours over two days and still nothing. They keep blaming the internet, wi-fi, wrong password, etc. They wanted to know if I changed anything to make it stop working. I was sleeping the last time they had communication with the gateway so NO, nothing changed. They can't explain why the system all of a sudden stopped communicating. We are sorry we went solar - A BIG, EXPENSIVE MISTAKE. I WANT PANELS REMOVED AND MONEY BACK but not sure what it will do to the roof. read more

I've been with blue raven for 3 years now! I honestly and genuinely can't understand some of these reviews stating that they are a bad company. They were so transparent with me from day one. From the person that came to my door to the person I had the meeting with to the rest of the company. Their install was a quick process and the staff were friendly and professional. I absolutely recommend 10 out of 10 going Solar thru blue raven. My bill was 440 dollars a month in the beginning, they got it to 277 for the first 18 months, but it's been 183 sense!! Shoot if Id rather pay that money to raising my equity rather than pay duke! not to be long winded. But I believe you get what you pay for and I wish I would've waited because now I understand you all get to put it on your roof for free, I had to pay to get mine installed. But it's total worth it. Don't take my word for it. Talk to the door guy or gal and see for yourself cuz my home is different from yours. It might not be good for your home. But it just might be. Unethical and Deceptive sales 1st company to do a Solar Quote Sales person tells you to initial a liability waiver in order to come and inspect your roof and attic... Apparently on page 29 your entering into a contract that they neglect to mention... then I was hackled for weeks even after I responded I was getting other quotes. After I tell them I'm going a different direction as they are 20% higher than others and can't provide an itemized quote....... then I figure out I will be charged a "fee" for cancelling my "contract" I unknowingly signed. Why on earth would I think I was signing a 40K contract without having my attorney review it?? Makes no sense at all when you explain it to them. Regardless they will try to collect. Shady and unethical company 1 star is for the installation team that came out to install the panels; they were great. Other than that, I highly recommend staying away from this company. If you still want to go with them, do not trust what their sales reps tell you. Good luck getting any call back from them also when you call to follow up on these issues. Blue Raven refuses to honor promises offered by their salesperson. They repeatedly tell me that what he (the sales rep) told me was between me and him, and that his words do not represent Blue Raven. They recommend me to spend my money to take care of those items myself, then their sales rep may mail me a check from his own bank account. They also added that no promise he would mail me a check. Buyer beware. I don't know where they find these sales reps to send to your house and make the pitch, but if you do have a chat with these people, do know that Blue Raven may throw them under the bus after they've got you to sign a contract with them, and their sales reps also stop responding to your inquiries. I chose Blue Raven Solar to install solar panels on my house and I made the right decision. The rep from Blue Raven made an appointment to come to my house to review the proposal and explain all the details, answer questions, etc. On the day of installation the process was precisely as explained; the solar panels were dropped off by a delivery company; a few minutes later one of the Blue Raven Installers arrived and installed my new thermostat inside; then the second installer came and the two of them installed the solar panels on my roof and then made the connection in my attic and patio. They were finished in less than three hours total. It then took less than two weeks for inspections from the County and from Portland General Electric. I explained at the time that I would probably want some additional solar panels because of adding a household member and also plans to purchase an electric car. The Blue Raven rep told me that it would be simple to add more panels in the future and I am now in the process of doing that. Blue Rave Solar takes contractors commission they have earned if they leave before payment. I have filed a complaint with L&I in Washington. I quickly sold one system that included batteries for $59,000 and then another one including batteries for $54,000. (Both final designs were signed off by the customer) Then a few days later I find out from Steve Klefsky you only get paid for the solar panels and you do not get paid on the batteries, which totaled about $50,000 in equipment out of those two deals. read more

We recently signed a contract with Blue Raven (BR) after listening to a very nice and excellent sales person convince us that they were the best. Shame on us for moving forward with signing a contract before we did other bids which was something we rarely ever do. Our solar installation with BR without the federal tax credits of $7900 was $30,000 with 30 years of payments. The interest paid on this loan would be an estimated $8,000. Because we learned this program was viewed by several leaders in the solar industry as extremely expensive, we sought other bids. As a result of that process, we found another very well-known, 5-star Oregon company that has been in the business for 30 years with excellent panels and inventors, the same warranties, and that will provide more KW on our roof. Their quote to us after Energy Trust and Federal Tax credits will cost us less than $7,000 or one-third of the Blue Raven proposal of $30,000 less the $7900 federal tax credits. Also, this new contract will be paid for in five years and not 30. In fact we are spending nearly the same amount for solar as we would have paid in interest on the BR loan. Because it took us more than three days after the contract was signed, we now owe this company $1215 in a fee which was part of the contract. Our recommendation - DO NOT move forward with BLUE RAVEN unless you have one or two Oregon Solar Company bids. You will find you will save a lot of money. You also need to read their pages of the contract. You will learn you are signing all of your rights to BR. read more

Blue Raven's door-to-door "appointment setter" ignored my no soliciting sign and rang my doorbell. After telling her to go away she lectured me on the fact that she wasn't "soliciting." I chased them down my driveway! Lot's of solicitors and appointment setters come to my door. They came to the house promptly but the overview of our house was showing too much tree coverage which seemed odd we had just removed 2 trees. However I appreciated our reps honesty and we chose not to continue with the bid. Our rep explained that we would not qualify for certain discounts which again we appreciated.
