First time coming here after a friend recommended. It was really good. A little loud in there for the setting but the staff was super nice and welcoming. Mel is amazing. The food was really good. A bit pricey for the drinks and shrimp cocktail though. Next time no alcohol and no $27.00 shrimp cocktail. We ordered ribeye medium well and it came out medium rare but was still really tasty. Great food. Indoor and outdoor seating. Best high end restaurant in Wrightwood. If you don't make a reservation you may have to wait or find another place, especially on Valentines Day. Beautiful garden setting. Prices are reasonable for a fancy restaurant. Staff are courteous and give great service. Tip them well. Dark inside so you feel you have privacy wife you spouse or partner or date. Dress up if you like or come in casual attire. Good wine and beer selection. They have a bar. Our party of five just had the nicest outdoor dinner tonight. The larger side patio was just perfect on a summer evening. The food and service was VERY GOOD and we had a very nice experience. The whole staff tried very hard during these challenging times. They made us two orders of fish and chips even though it was not on the menu. Clam chowder soup was excellent along with the Salmon and Prime Rib. We drove up from Apple Valley, 45 minutes and pledge to come to dinner a few more times this summer. We LOVE Blue Ridge Inn. We come here for any occasion (birthdays, anniversaries, a few cocktails on a Thursday evening). My husband and I love the Ribeye, Malaysian Shrimp, Chicken Geary, Salmon, and the steak sandwich. Also, start with the artichoke for an appetizer! You can't beat the drinks, especially Mel's Lemon Drop Martinis! The atmosphere is always cozy whether it's in the winter with a roaring fire or summer where you can sit outside and enjoy the little town of Wrightwood! The bread is homemade and warm when it gets to your table. The salads are fresh--the warm spinach salad is TO DIE FOR. They have homemade soups every day. Our favorite main dishes are the Prime Rib with Malaysian shrimp--they're like mini-lobsters. The Chicken Gruyere is delectable, especially with the Irish Potatoes. Apparently Blue Ridge Inn is one of the more upscale spots in Wrightwood. So, by suggestion of my friend we came here on our first night of our girls weekend get-a-way. We ordered a really good Syrah called Valley of the Moon. The description of "notes of lavender" is what sold us. One thing that is super obvious is just how dark nor dim but dark this place was. I am a fan of the dimly lighted spots however this was a little to dark. It made me a little sleepy. Anyhoo, my friend ordered the special which was the seared ahi and I went with the filet mignon with shrimp.. I never order meat but I was feeling a little carnivorous. In short our meals were good. The service good. But, the thing that killed it for me was the running rat. A party next to us yelled when a rat ran by their feet. Oh, how gross now did I feel. Granted there are rats around. But, the thing that killed it for me was when the patrons told the waitress and the waitresses response with shoulders shrugged was "Yes, we know" so, matter of fact. Like, meh who cares. Sorry... If you're ever in the area, you owe it to yourself to pay a visit to the Blue Ridge Inn, a stunningly charming little place in the mountains of Wrightwood, California, where the food is gourmet-level without the gourmet-level prices. There's a small yet excellent menu here, with a full bar, and if Chuck is behind it, you will get top-flight drinks. The martinis are served icy cold, in chilled glasses with excellent olives, the margaritas RULE (they use Bols Triple Sec, which I think is the best I've ever tried - you can buy it for five ninety nine a bottle at Trader Joe's). All the drinks I've had here ROCK, and the wine list has gotten much better since my initial encounters with the place. It's good here earlier in the day, what with the supremely cool outside patio, but at night is when the place really takes on its superb atmosphere. The lighting is seductively dark, with individual little lamps on each table, and you've given a bread basket with hard rolls or Italian-type bread, with these slices of wonderful homemade pumpkin bread underneath - I always save 'em for dessert and sometimes buy a loaf to take home, it's delicious the morning after. The entrees all come with either soup (gourmet quality, all of them), or a salad; the spinach salad here is the best I have ever tasted, anywhere - and I don't even LIKE spinach salad! - with the mixed greens salad not far behind. Of the entrees, I am supremely partial to the surf & turf dish - the gigantic and stupendous Malasian shrimp, either by itself or served with a grilled sirloin steak, exquisitely prepared (as RARE as you'd like it - no "rawness warnings" here, thank God), and thick-cut, delectable mushrooms, along with a giant baked potato. Although the food was delicious, another customer who was picking up a to go order walked by us as we were eating a &100 meal and yelling at us for not wearing a mask and saying she hopes we get Covid, then your bartender/ daughter-of the owner comes and yells at us for telling her "good customer " "to mind her business" because it is not required to wear a mask while seated and eating and drinking.., we were attacked by both sides for no reason.,, owners did not even care!!! read more

For many years we visited this restaurant only on special occasions, as we felt it was a bit pricey for us. But realistically, my husband and I can have a GREAT dinner here for $13-20 a plate... compared with spending $12-16 for an 'institutional' dinner elsewhere it really is a no-brainer. We almost always have the top sirloin, (the owner Chuck hand cuts the steaks) and it is just the best steak around. When we go to other restaurants - even advertised steak houses! - and order a steak we are so disappointed because the quality is lacking when compared with what we get at Blue Ridge. Their salads are yummy, the veggie sides are actually cooked/prepared (not just slopped out of a can or freezer), and their desserts are good as well. I've also had the halibut fish & chips, and it is the best I've had. If you are looking for great food that is well seasoned and prepared (not just reheated Cisco pre-made garbage) then this is the place in town to visit! read more

The Top Sirloin and shrimp combo is the way to go! The beef was sweet and succulently marinated while the buttered sauce that accompanied the shrimp was to die for . I ordered mine medium rare and it was perfectly prepared as such. I really enjoyed the banana bread that came before the meal, and glad it was there as it took almost 40 minutes for our meal to arrive. While service was friendly, the two occasions I've been here the service was slow. This, along with slow water refills (we did ask for the pitcher to make it more convenient for our waitress but wasn't allowed) are the only reasons I couldn't give a "fiver". *Hours are limited* Decor is rustic like an old fashioned ;-) read more

Food was good, but for what it costs the service should be much much better. Our drinks were empty most of the dinner and we were very rarely checked on. I would usually overlook that if we were paying $10-$15 a plate but you're looking at $25-$30 a plate here. This place is good for the area and has a pretty good ambience. I would say that the front antiquated bar and fireplace area is more appealing than the back dining area. We went at night so I'm sure that the atmosphere can fluctuate with the placement of the sun. At night the back room seem less cozy and slightly geriatric compared to the rustic front room. The food itself was ok. We had the steak and shrimp meal accompanied with a bowl of clam chowder. The main course seemed a little bland, but I think that was to accommodate a solid all pleasing style rather than exotic and experimental as I expect from L.A. and its vicinity. We arrived a few minutes after the restaurant opened. There was one couple ahead of us, who was ushered to a window seat. The hostess then took us to a seat at the back. When I asked if we could also have a window seat, she said no, giving a reason that made no sense whatsoever. The restaurant was completely empty except for the one couple. Later, several couples who arrived after us were all given window seats. These couples were apparentlhy all walk-ins, as the hostess had no reservation list. Wow... where do I begin. Simple appetizers not on the menu showing no prices charging $25 for 6 shrimp cocktail on the rubbery side. Salad was the 3 bite size, didn't have some of the side options on a Saturday night, and fish main course overpriced for the extremely small portion. Kids menu chicken fingers 90% batter 10% chicken and kids pasta option a clump of stuck together spaghetti. Entire restaurant smelled of cigarettes. Wrightwood needs a better option... Wow!! I wasn't expecting to much from this place. But, it was so good. The service was amazing, when you are in a small town I must say you get really friendly good service. I got the filet migon with the au gratin potatoes and veggies. Mine was amazing the steak was cooked perfectly. The seasoning they use is so good on the steak and veggies. The bread is warm and delicious. One less star because my Fiance got the rib eye and it was pretty fatty. So he couldn't eat all of it, which stinks cause it is pricey. This place is so cute inside, it is dark and romantic great for date nights. read more
