Bbq meat was bland. Sauce was mustard and bland - not sweet. Dill potato salad was a disaster. The baked beans had only a mustard taste. Lackluster food. Wonderful ambience, however. A plate with a sandwich and two sides was $20. Very disappointing.

I've been coming to Blue Ridge Pig for 15+ years, I can remember being a little girl and going with my parents up the mountain for dinner. This establishment has always been a treat for my family and I. I have never been disappointed in their food, service and overall ambiance. The potato salad is like no other you will find. Delicious! There is not a single item on the menu I would not recommend. We are so blessed to have The Blue Ridge pig.

When I saw this place, I knew I had to try it. I am so glad that I did. The first thing you notice is the eclectic exterior and then you smell the awesomey goodness of wood smoke. The food itself was delicious. The meat had a smoke ring that you would not believe. And the tenderness... Well, amazing. If you are looking for legit BBQ you do not have to look any further. We will be back.

Stopped to get some dinner because the place looks nice and rustic. The sandwich was ok, but not very flavorful. The macaroni salad was ok and the slaw was very watery. The limeade was like sugar water, but I would have preferred some real lime or better flavor. Overall, it was just ok

*** CASH ONLY, NO CREDIT CARDS *** Blue Ridge Pig menu, as of June 2015

CASH ONLY!!! Ya'll hear me? If you're like us, you usually only carry plastic, so if you drive all the way to this out-of-the-way place and don't have enough cash on you, you'll have to make a sizable donation to the Swear Jar after driving around Nellysford to find an ATM. Hopefully, I've saved some of you that hassle. We ordered: 2 smoked turkey croissants, 1 ham croissant, 1 pint of baked beans, 1/2 pint of macaroni salad, and a large (yet tiny) sweet tea. $39. Did I mention they accept CASH ONLY? They charge extra for 'the works' on their sandwiches, which as of this writing is an extra .45 cents per tomato/lettuce/mayo/etc. Cheese is an extra .55 cents. Those add-ons do add up, and we found out the hard way that it would have been cheaper to order by the 'plate' rather than rack up the extra sides (beans, macaroni salad) by ordering them separately. We ordered take-out over the phone & didn't get the prices ahead of time, so we didn't realize this until it was too late, which was kind of a shock when we arrived twice for the bill. We arrived twice since we had to hunt down that ATM. I posted an updated menu in the photo section. Now, for the food: the ham was very salty, but moist & tasty. I liked it on the croissant, which was a nice touch. The turkey was unfortunately dry & tasteless, but the dill sauce really adds a nice touch & many people rave about it. We were very disappointed with the baked beans, they seem to just be Van de Kamps with smoked meat & vinegar added, which didn't work as well as it sounds. They should have been packed with flavor, but were very bland--although the meat was great. It just needed a kick of flavor, tomato or BBQ sauce would be a welcome touch. Macaroni salad: lacked flavor, also. Sweet tea: $2 for a large, but it was only about 10 oz. It was good. Would we go back? We are locals that had gone here once years ago, and forgot why we haven't gone here more often. Now we remember. But I would like to try their 'pig salad' which I assume is ham salad; and would also like to try their BBQ chicken. The croissants were enjoyable. All in all, we are native southerners who know great BBQ, and are still on the Great VA BBQ Quest. If anyone has any suggestions for us, pls message me? Thanks. I'm posting a picture of their updated menu, as of this writing 06/03/2015. And did I mention? CASH ONLY!!

My southern roots have to say no to the collards. Sorry! It's nice that they have 2 slaws and a variety of pickles to choose from and the hush puppies were perfect. They offer a variety of sauces and I preferred the Carolina sauce with a bit of Virginia sweet. That said, the overall experience didn't quite match the price point. At around $90 for three people, it felt expensive for a very casual, counter-service setting. They have a quick order cafeteria style service with most sides and meats right there to serve from the ordering counter. They offer a variety of pre-portioned desserts, cold alcoholic beverages, and meats and sides in larger portions to go We chose to sit outside, but the noise level was a major drawback--constant truck traffic and a very loud motorcycle shop next door made it hard to relax or enjoy the meal. These are things that the exchange cannot control, so if noise is an issue for you, sit inside and you will have a different experience. Overall, decent food, but between the cost and the noise, it wasn't the experience we were hoping for.

The beer The views The food The music The vibes We haven't been here in sometime but I'm so glad they're still giving five star service. We were looking a little lost coming in, but David grabbed us up and said "I can help you over here". From there it was love at first SIP! He has us at FREE SAMPLE ciders. David took us through the offerings, educating us along the way. He mentioned what ciders are the most flavorful and why. He hung with our curiosity, eagerness to drink and indecisiveness at the same time. Customer service is crucial to a pleasant experience. I can only hope the rest of the staff are as easy going and likes their job as much as he does. Now for the cider. GET THE FLIGHT! Sample and fall in love with options instead of one. We settled on: Pineapple Imperial Berry Summer Slice Paradise Orchard Imperial orange Vat #1 (champagne cider) Imperial All amazing and refreshing selections. Paradise orchard is my new fave. Let's get into this food. We ordered: Tacos w/ house chips Chicken Nachos Cajun Honey wings & fries All great and very fresh made to order, so good, good flavors. My fave were the wings and the house chips. Only notes is out more sauce and seasoning on the wings, I felt like BR was teasing me with a good time. I needed more! Same with the nachos so good. The chips were fresh, but I need more cheese throughout the chips. Chicken was on point. Everything was super super fresh so good. House chips is a huge staple love them. Keep doing them maybe add a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese if you are reading this and you're debating about coming here get the house chips get a flight get it all. Our total bill $75, but omg we sampled sooo much! Love this place... BR give David a raise!
