We decided to take advantage of the "treat yourself" prefixed menu. There were several options and each of us has something different. All of us had no complaints it was delicious. The only little complaint I have is we decided to take advantage of the additional $10 for unlimited beer, wine, or sangria. The sangria was not the best. I will definitely come back real soon. Get off the Verrazano bridge, take Bay street and keep going north until you can't go anymore! That's where you will find Blue, an interesting seafood spot right off the water. It definitely falls in that "middle of nowhere category" as it's past the Staten Island Yankees stadium and as far up as you can possibly go, chances are you were referred to Blue because it would be tough to stumble upon. The place is nice despite being located next to a gas station, it has an island resort feel to it with lots of outdoor space and views of the water. The bar is the first thing you see when walking in and then you have one indoor dining area that leads to two larger outdoor seating areas. The food can best be described as seafood with an Asian and Spanish twist. Lots of spring rolls and wontons and miso spices on seafood, along with that Mediterranean spice. My appetizer was the avocado carpaccio and it was fantastic, probably the best dish I had all night. It came with mushroom and caramelized onion and shaved truffle over sliced avocado and a pesto glaze. I really enjoyed this dish but be warned it's a bit on the salty side. For an entrée I went with the dish simply called "Love Letters." This dish had seafood over parpadelle pasta with a spicy tomato sauce. The seafood included calamari, clams, mussels and one lobster tail. I enjoyed the dish but couldn't finish because it was a big portion. The tomato sauce was a bit on the watery side and would've complimented the pasta better with a little bit of thickness. For dessert I went with the trio of mango sorbet, pistachio gelato and coffee ice cream, which was fine. I also tried one nutella wonton which I was not a fan of. Don't be fooled into thinking this place is Italian, because we are spoiled with big portions and many of the apps here are smaller plates like the grilled octopus. There's definitely a modern influence to the seafood here, and it's worth a try because the menu is diverse and there's a few gems you probably have never tried. Our waitress Mia worked hard on our group of 6 and be advised it's pretty loud if you eat inside! Be prepared to scream your order to the wait staff during peak hours. Blue has a bee problem. When we arrived for our 5pm reservation, we were told that our table with high chair was setup in that exact section with bees. If we wanted to, we could wait yet no idea when the table would be available. Not wanting to wait for a table since we were with our youngest, we settled down and could not relax the entire meal. The bees were circling us the entire time. I would also note that the food was mediocre. It was nothing special. We ordered the salmon, seafood risotto, ravioli, and a lemon chicken dish. Main dishes - shell steak, flounder and love letters. Shell steak was cooked to medium perfection and accompanied by baked potatoes and fresh feta salad. Flounder - sautéed filet topped with crab mean and served with parsley in lemon butter sauce - rich in flavor and hearty in taste. Food always been decent. It's got a Mediterranean feel to it, and much of what's on the websites menu is no longer available that's a turn off. The food portions are a big small for the price but they are rich in flavor. The view at night is spectacular and the crowd is always calm. The staff is pleasant and courteous and the presentation of the food is beautiful. Every Sunday they offer a crab fest for 35$ a person where you pick from 5 different styles of preparation and have an entire pot of crab lobster and seafood bought to your table. I take off a star only for the portions and for the deception in the menu. Management should update the online menu, much of the menu is obsolete. read more

This past time here was my third time over the course of 3 years. I sat outside with friends and really enjoyed the views of all the large shipping boats and tug boats go by. We went there for our anniversary and when we showed up we walked up to the hostess and apparently the owner was busy just having a conversation about another guest that had just left. We waited and waited, when they were finished, she started having another conversation with another employee, like we weren't even there. Then we got seated. When I made my reservation and confirmed it, I requested to be seated by the window so we can look out. Instead we got seated on the opposite side. I was fairly impressed with their brunch. The mimosas were satisfactory. I tried pancakes, steak, huevos rancheros, parfait, eggs, white bean soup, and key lime pie. Our server's name was Kristin and she was great, very engaging and with a great sense of humor. You must try their grilled octopus as one of your appetizers is delicious. This place has very good food and a nice view, but the service we experienced tonight was terrible. It really ruined our night and I wouldn't return because of it. Our waiter and even the busboys were rude and acted as if were bothering them when we asked for things like water. Or the food items we ordered that they forgot. They actually rolled their eyes. Our water glasses were never refilled although the dinner went on for over two hours. They left tons of dirty plates on the table so there was no room for the dessert. And they brought out dessert silverware but left it in the middle of the table so we had to distribute it ourselves. I understand they were busy but there's really no excuse for rudeness. We went for our daughter's birthday last night. I had the seafood with risotto with 2 shrimp in the entire dish. There were more calamari throughout the dish than anything else. Risotto was dry. Had to ask for butter. Had to ask for bread for the table. It was a bit on the expensive side. Our server was ok. The ambiance is nice but that's where it starts and ends. Came for dinner with a party of 6. Sat inside as it was 91 degrees outside shortly found out the AC in the dinning room was barely working. However, the bar area when you just walk in where you will find most of the staff the AC was pumping. Multiple tables asked to crank the AC and they was unable to, stating someone coming to check out the AC unit on Wednesday. Flys all inside was very annoying kept flopping our hands around for the flys not to sit in our food. The food overall was mediocre. Got a tomahawk steak for 2 with asparagus and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese seemed like it came out of a box. The macaroni was just covered in liquid cheese. The steak was okay definitely not worth $130. Drinks was decent had a good variety. Baked clams and the raw oysters from the appetizer was good. The service was upsetting. Maybe the waitress was just hot and annoyed but you do work in hospitality and least you can do is crack a smile and offer cold water to start with. The view is nice but will not come back or recommend. Only 2 stars because of the view and okay food. PS the parking lot is tiny good luck getting a spot or getting out.
