*under new management!* Stopped in for a Yelp event and will DEFINITELY come back for a 'regular' meal haha. The owner Rudy told us his whole story about how he opened a restaurant in February 2020 that closed 5 weeks later due to COVID, and what a financial and emotional hardship that was. Now, he is the new owner of Blue Taco in a "it's meant to be" kismet story that brought him full circle. Rudy's cocktails are super - he is trying to win Best Cocktail in Westchester this year. The signature drink "Mariachi" was made him habanero-infused tequila (Rudy does it himself!), passion fruit, lime juice and chia seeds. It is inspired by his grandmother, who passed from COVID. The drink definitely had a kick - usually when I order a spicy drink it's not spicy enough but this one was PERFECT. The passion fruit balanced it nicely. I also ordered the Avocado Lady. It was served in a beautiful coupe glass. You can have it with gin, tequila, or mezcal (I opted mezcal), with avocado, agave, and orange liquor. It was so refreshing and would go perfectly with a spicy meal. For our special YELP event, Rudy had tequilas and mezcals out for us to taste - this was super generous (and probably costly to him!) and fun. Since we were here for an event, it was trays of appetizer foods, buffet-style. We had 2 types of quesadillas (cheese only, and chicken), beef empanadas, chicken taquitos, tortilla chips, and jalapeno poppers. Everything was cooked SO well and was so delicious. Rudy informed us he has chefs in the kitchen (not cooks), one of which used to work at Tres Amigos in Mahopac. Rudy's inspiring story about his family and his vision for Blue Taco was so special to hear. I wish him and the staff the best of luck and will be back for sure to try some more of their entrees and cocktails. read more

What a great Yelp Event!! The food was super good and service was spot on! My Birria tacos were to die for. The fish tacos were excellent... and the ceviche was, not as good as mine, but excellent! This place is in a cute little strip mall. Easy parking. The dining area is separate from the Bar area and spacious. Service was fast, attentive and super friendly. Parking was easy-breezy. This establishment is clean, well organized and the menu rocks. We had a great time a great meal and look forward to returning. read more

Our first visit here was great! The service was quick and so friendly! Loved the atmosphere! The food and drinks were wonderful, and the prices were so reasonable. The restaurant is very spacious and has a friendly crowd. We ordered nachos and an enchilada and a burrito. Everything was fresh and tasty! After hearing great things about the Blue Taco, we finally decided it was worth a visit and they did not disappoint!! I had 3 tacos ( pork, chicken, and steak) Absolutely Delicious! So fresh, served with fresh cilantro and a radish garnish. I had a yummy white sangria which was a perfect pairing. The decor is simple yet charming displaying a few pieces of custom artwork. Our server was actually an owner named Freddy, who treated us like family from the second we walked in. My wife and I shared a delicious dessert and I finished with a perfect Mexican Coffee. Sorry Taco Dive Bar (Peekskill waterfront), there's a new taco contender in town! Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. There was only one other table there- not busy. We ordered margaritas- pretty good. We got the chips and salsa, I loved the salsa, it was very tasty! The appetizer we got was the fiesta app, I think it came with calamari, elote, fries and wings. We were not crazy about the wings, they were not warm, the French fries were soggy and not cooked fully. The calamari was alright, and elote was ok. Nothing outrageous. For our entree we had to remind the server that we didn't order yet. We finally got our food and it was pretty good. Carne asada and Texans fajita. I will probably be back, but now I know not to order that sampler app! Not complaining but for a full summary of the lunch- The bill was about $90 for an app, two drinks and two entrées. read more

I have been to this place twice so far and both times I enjoyed it. It looks small from the outside but don't let it fool you as it is very big inside and is divided by a glass/wood wall that separates the bar area from the dining area - the bar area has a few tables. It is very clean and spacious. I have enjoyed the food (burritos, steak tacos, combination plate), drinks (pina coladas) and desserts (tres leches, churros, flan). The food is very good albeit it once or twice it didn't come out as hot as I would have liked it but I ate it all the same. And once or twice we had to go to the bar to get drink refills as they didn't realize we needed refills at our table but it was ok. All in all I can't figure out why this place isn't packed more often but I will definitely be back! read more

Came in for lunch. Brand new restaurant in Mahopac with very reasonable prices. The food was delicious. The Margarita was perfect. The calamari has a little kick in the seasoning. The shrimp tacos were perfectly cooked, seasoned, and just delicious. And the sevice is excellent- family owned and they take a lot of pride in their restaurant. I took my wife out to dinner and wanted to try this new restaurant. I'm all for supporting local business in my town . However my experience will not allow me to come back. My wife ordered the chimichangas , very bland and dissatisfied with the quality of the food. I ordered a chicken and steak fajita, aside from the food having no flavor they only gave me 2 fajita wraps , then of course I had to pay extra for more wraps. But the worst part was I didn't receive any condiments with my fajitas , no cheese, sour cream , or guacamole.. when I asked they charged me extra for it . Made no sense, that's like charging me for ketchup on a hot dog . This restaurant is far from authentic and not worth wasting your money read more

this place is very sub par. it wasn't completely terrible but i don't think it deserves 4 or 5 stars. i stopped by on a thursday after noon around 4-5pm. the place was completely empty. the cheese dip was definitely not homemade, tasted very fake, like from a grocery store jar. i ordered the sierra margarita, tasted terrible at first, then the bartender said he forgot to add the lime juice, tasted better after! the salsa was decent. didn't wanna order more food so just got some rice & beans. they were fine. didn't wanna give them 2 stars but don't deserve the 4 star medium in my opinion. staff was nice & relaxed since no people were there besides me. they also didn't give me any silverware, napkins, or water. read more

We're hoping they were having a bad night because we really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, we were sadly disappointed with the food last night (Wednesday). The steak was tough in the burrito and the fajitas, the beans were undercooked, the rice tasted off like a stale taste (is that even possible) and everything lacked flavor. Very bland. On a positive note, the young ladies who waited on us were very pleasant. They were the reason for the one star :( read more

Will never go back! Received horrible service for 2. Ordered our drinks (one of 2 tables) , got those and finished them, didn't see waitress again for an hour! A table of 4 came in after us, got their drinks, entrees and we were still waiting! I finally told waitress who didn't seem to care, we paid for our drinks and left. 1. NO apology 2. Went there today with my family. The food was delicious and fresh. We had the guacamole appetizer, corn appetizer. For lunch we all had tacos ( shrimp and beef were my favorite however we also had the chicken, al pastor pork, Burria and fish. All were fresh and delicious. Where are you hot sauce lovers you must ask for the housemaid hot sauce delicious. Both my husband and I had the Mojitos super fresh tasty good prices my son had their lemonade fresh and delicious.
