We were guests at a wedding held here and stayed in a queen room. The resort sent us a link the day before which allowed us to fill in the paperwork ahead of time. When we arrived, all we had to do was pick up the keys. The woman in the office couldn't have been nicer. She made the room available to us a little earlier so we could get dressed for the ceremony and showed us on the map where all the events would take place. The room was large with a small fridge and coffee maker. We didn't spend much time there but we were comfortable. The grounds are lovely, a beautiful setting for a wedding. The ceremony was lakefront with cocktail hour at the nearby tavern. Cocktails, cheeses and passed hors doevres. The bacon wrapped scallops were scrumptious as were the steak empanadas. Then we moved up to the restaurant. This is a charming venue. The acoustics could be better....conversation was difficult, but maybe that was the DJs fault for not playing quieter music while dinner was being served. read more

We came as a large party of 15 to celebrate a very special birthday girl and they were able to sit us in a nice room with a great view of Lake George. One long table for all of us and thankfully far enough from the rest of the patrons because there were 6 children who never seem to run out of energy. Our server came and seemed to recognize that the key to a successful meal with children is to get them food and drinks right away and leave the adults to peruse the menu and have small talk. We had all sort of items from the appetizer menu and all of them were pretty good. No standouts and nothing to complain about. Solid food at fair prices. Entrees were good as well and of all, I think the lobster roll was probably the best dish served in terms of value and taste. I've eaten at the hotel restaurant several times, but this past year I finally had the chance to stay in a cabin. It was a great experience! The hotel has been updated in the last few years, and everything is very clean and modern (while still maintaining that quaint rustic charm). Our cabin was spacious and was the perfect size for two. The bed was super comfortable which is always a win. My only complaint about the room was the shower which was super tiny. The grounds of the resort are gorgeous and it's so well manicured with flowers and greenery all around. They even have a koi pond! There's a nice sized pool, and the bar and restaurant with views overlooking the lake can't be beat. Prices are a little higher than some of the other lakeside hotels around, but this seems to be a newer and more updated hotel than a lot of the others. It's also of course super reasonable compared to The Sagamore. So, if you are looking for something less spendy than the Sagamore but cleaner / newer than lots of other hotels in the area then I'd say BWM is absolutely worth looking into. read more

Needed more sauce or something else. It was a good idea to use some apples, but it felt like something was still missing. Onion rings were good. Nice crisp and a great size. I am so thrilled with my experience here- my husband and I just got married at this location on Saturday aug 9th and OMG was it ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! The rooms were nice, the swimming area was great, beautiful views, restaurant was great and convenient Sincere thank you to the event staff especially Dave and rachel (and our bartender nick)- you guys worked your butts off the entire weekend to make our day so perfect and we couldn't be more thankful- the venue was stunning and we were able to relax knowing you had it completely under control. If I can make one small critique it would be that getting in touch/communication was a little difficult but it was apparent when we arrived that the reason for that was that management was running around like crazy taking great care of everything so if you're planning on booking your event here literally don't worry about that it will be PERFECT Thank you again! This "Resort" is right on the lake, with water views, a restaurant, pool, and Koi pond. They also have annex lodging about 1 mile up the road that is a bit cheaper. We stayed here for the weekend for a wedding and stayed at the Annex, supposably the resort offers a shuttle service to take guests to/from the annex building to the main lodging. We asked the front desk for information on the shuttle service for the wedding and for daily vacation life. We asked the front desk additional information about the shuttle service and where and when to get the shuttle if we want to come spend time at the lake, she said "you'll just see it". She couldn't provide us a number to call when we wanted the shuttle nor tell us where we can go to get the shuttle. The Resort also was offering a shuttle service for the wedding ceremony to take guests to and from the annex to the ceremony. We asked what time will the shuttle bring us to the ceremony and bring us back and they didn't know. "Just be ready early and look and see what everyone else is doing". 10 minutes before the ceremony was to start the shuttle finally showed up as we were about to drive ourselves. We asked the driver what time should we be ready by to catch the shuttle back to the Annex at the end of the reception. The driver was rude and said "I didn't know anything about this, I didn't know I had to do this I just found out I had to do this 5 minutes ago, I don't know!" By the end of the night, we actually caught the shuttle, the driver was the BARTENDER who also didn't know he would be doing this drive for us. They simply didn't have anyone to shuttle all the guests back to the annex so they had to have the bartender do it, at least he was friendly. What do these people working here actually know? People who come and stay here spend an absurd amount of money to stay here and use their services but they don't know anything. Not to mention the bride and groom spend all this money to have their wedding here and they couldn't even get the shuttle done properly. The "swimming area" is about a 20x20 foot waterzone in between two docks, it closes at 5pm to allow boats to park there. They had an outdoor tiki bar by the swimming area. The koi pond was beautiful. The lodges at the main resort site were cute with picnic tables and fire pits. The annex buildings could've used a nice exterior cleaning, there were tons of bugs, dirt, spider webs and hornets nests on the exterior. Inside the tub wouldn't drain, the sink had a leak which they had a bag attached underneath it to catch the water, that bag was moldy appearing and wasn't hidden so that's all you saw, pretty gross. The bed were clean thankfully. The individuals that worked there were either on two opposite ends, either friendly or really rude. The view for the ceremony for the wedding was gorgeous, the reception hall was beautiful as well. read more

Been here during the day to grab a drink and take in the views of the lake. Decided to go and have dinner where we ate at the bar. Loud band played classic rock but was way too loud, couldn't have a conversation and they weren't very good Asked one of the two female bartenders to put on the Yankees and received a major attitude that came with an eye roll and challenged which channel it was on. Food wasn't anything great, disappointing. We were going to go to the Algonquin and next year we will. We also were looking into booking a stay and I'm double thinking that as well. read more

We have been coming to this establishment for many years. Unfortunately it will be our last trip here. We dined many times At the Tavern Restaurant on the main property. Our server Ashley was a great server! Her attitude was terrific and she was on top of her game! It was quite refreshing to have someone who was great at her job but listened, fast & attentive. Very friendly and we left her a sizable tip! On another note, the bartender(s) who was also called Ashley S, as the Tavern restaurant was deplorable! Her attitude, was an extremely rude demeanor and her inability to be nice and even take notice of a large group of us that took over 14 seats and we were spending large amounts of money was unacceptable. Her attitude, her comments to many in our group was not acceptable and if she were my employee she would have been fired and immediately escorted off the property. She ignored many at the bar trying to get drinks ordered, made & paid for. She kept ringing the bill wrong. She then gave us someone else's bill and we asked for our bill. At which time she replayed " what do you care what bill you got, just pay the bill I gave you." My husband's response was I want to pay for what we ordered and our own bill. The bill she gave us not only was not our bill but someone else's and thought it was perfectly fine and snidely made the comment just pay your bill and get out! My husband immediately approached a manager/ hostess to tell them what we were experiencing along with our large party along with a brief explanation. This bartender was spoken too but her attitude did not change whatsoever. The bar & restaurant were packed and the other bartender stood there while many people wanted to order drinks and he ignored the surroundings of the bar and was putting glasses away in the bar. Obviously he too was oblivious to doing his job! We had a party of 14 people eating dinner and we were ready to walk out if it hadn't been for our server Ashely S. She apologized profusely for the bartenders behavior and if it wasn't for her we would have taken our business elsewhere. It's a shame that this year it seemed to be a common denominator with bartenders and severs. We understand we are just 14 people that come a few times a year but this will be the last. We generally over tip and generally roll with the flow. Leaving today very unsatisfied and we won't be back! read more

This place was even better the second time. We originally visited 2 years ago and it was not a very memorable experience. This time, however, we got a table on the top patio, with an amazing view. We pulled our boat right up to their docks, and walked up the steps to the restaurant. My wife has gluten and dairy allergies and our server - Tina - told us they have a gluten and dairy free menu. I devoured my Basin Bay Burger. My wife liked hers as well. One of the kids liked his buffalo chicken wrap, and the other had nachos as a meal - he liked the added-on chicken but the nachos were "mid." Tina was great. The view was great. The food was great. I normally like to post good reviews. However, our experience this past weekend was far from blue water manor receiving a good review. We arrived by boat. There was no breeze outside. When we arrived for dinner thwrre no tables available outside, so we opted for inside. It was so cold you could not relax. We asked the hostess if the air conditioning could be turned off. It was 6:00 pm on a fall evening on the lake. She advised that the a/c was not on. This was not accurate. It was blowing right in us. She used the excuse it was the cross breeze. There was no breeze. Then our food was horrible. The crab mushrooms were dry and hardly no flavor, my crab cakes were so small and flat like a pancake. I ordered a tropical type drink and it was awful. I drank 1/4 of it and left it. The place was certainly not up to par and there are far better places to eat on the lake. This place was not our original plan, but we opted anyway. This was my second bad experience there so we will never go back. I would not recommend. read more

we thought this place would be accommodating and tasty for a nice dinner, however when we sat down there was no waitor/ waitress coming to our table to check on us. as well as there was no silverware at the table and we had waited 20 minutes until we finally received silverware even with asking our waiter beforehand. we ended up getting the pasta dishes and the scampi came out with elbow pasta with absolutely no sauce. and mine came out with the angel hair pasta that was supposed to be in the scampi as well as no sauce. we will not be visiting this place again. this place doesn't deserve a star read more

I really like the bar in the Blue Water Manor's Tavern on the Lake. Very cozy, great fireplace and amazing view. Well tonight we had dinner outside overlooking lake George and that was the best part of the dinner. Definitely not the service or food. And we were so looking forward to trying the dinner here with its beautiful view. I made a reservation 2 weeks ago and we still waited for table. Then my son ordered one of the specials and it was not very good. There was no light on the deck either. Service was very slow. We didn't complain just asked for check and left. Family vacation so my Uncle made reservation months in advanced for 18 of us outside. Well things started rocky when they didn't save that area and placed us in what I called a deep dark dungeon. A room in the back of the restaurant that you go down some stairs to. My family has a lot of large boys and well we were all piled on top of one another and two at the end hardly had table room. Not happy but oh well let's eat! Our waitress Bella was very nice and very attentive, I know large parties can be a pain to handle but she never skipped a beat. Drinks were good and they did have a good selection. I had the soup of the day which was a delicious vegetable soup. Very hearty and a good portion. We also had the Baked Brie which was very good but small I ate almost the whole thing myself so if you're sharing order two apps. I wasn't very hungry so I ordered the scallops appetizer as my main dish, that didn't disappoint either. Now - my husband and father in law ordered the Rib Eye and they were not impressed and the one piece of vegetable they got as a side was barely cooked. My sister in law got the Swordfish and it was over cooked and my brother in law got the wings and he too said they were just ok. If you're looking for a place to grab an app and some drinks and enjoy the view this is it, otherwise for a good steak and fish meal spend your hard earned money somewhere else. read more

Well I learned two things coming here. 1.if you want reservations for two, make it for four. And 2.the website and menu are deceiving. I was under the impression this would be an amazing anniversary date, unfortunately waiting for 30-40 minutes for a server to take a drink order, and loud music with folks bumping into you at your reserved table is unromantic. Ordered drinks and an app to give it a shot, but just couldn't deal with the atmosphere for what we came for and thought it was going to be. Had to get our app to go, unfortunately even that looked pretty sad. Just some toast with tomatoes. As we waited so long, we were able to observe other guests food. From salad to entrees. I'm glad I didn't waste more than 30 bucks, but it dented our anniversary coming here. Cannot recommend it besides as a bar or place to stay. This was a place o went with my entire family for dinner. But we ended up at the end of lunch. Although we sat for a while before a server coming to greet us the staff was very attentive afterwards. We started off with nachos and I had the crab cake sandwich w chips. My father had the fish and chips. In my opinion I feel as though you are paying for the atmosphere rather than the food. The fish was clearly frozen fish that was deep fried and highly priced but he said it wasn't bad. The crab cake sandwich was not bad either. And of course, the icing on the cake was the playground for my nieces to play in once they were done with dinner. The hostess told us to come early and they would seat us outside...we got there exactly when they said ...both times...and they told us that nothing outside was available while there were multiple empty tables and then proceeded to seat people outside 30 minutes after we arrived....they don't seem to even care about whether you are happy or not and just say "we don't guarantee outside seating"....i wouldn't have posted this if it didn't happen twice in a row after specifically asking them what time to come for a reservation. read more

First stay here but have enjoyed the Tavern Restaurant In the years past. First the pros.. grounds are beautifully kept and the front office gal Sandra was very accommodating,. The room was clean but sparse and the cheap fiberglass tub was a disappointment. The air conditioning was very loud coming on and off frequently making sleeping difficult.The big NO for me was getting up and down the 50+ steps to the lake. If you have any physical challenge this is not the place for you. After that ordeal I found that a large group had moved numerous lounges into to dock making it unusable for any one else. Deadpan/depressed staff stared at my son when he fell out of the high chair and cried instead of asking him if he was OK (no booth or smaller chairs for small families, only large parties) Waitress forgot drink menus and forgot my drink order. Received what was supposed to be their local brew and was 100% Bud Light in their glass. Food was bad. Pasta w/chicken and shrimp came in 2 inches of bland watery soup. Chicken and shrimp had no flavor at all- needed basic salt and pepper. Did I mention it was $30?! Veggies were OK. My wife's nachos were stale, chicken was similarly bland rubber, and it was served with pre-melted cheese that must have been re-heated. This is a really towny place, and most of the regulars are kind of drunk. One local was laughed off after forgetting her phone at the bar- but she didn't forget her tie-dyed beer bottle cozy, though. The waitress didn't say "have a good night" or "bye", but dropped the check in passing without even looking at us. The Manhattan clam chowder was good dinner was average at best and way overpriced. $29 for Cajun chicken pasta. This place is beautiful. The view is amazing. The grounds are exquisite. The bar/restaurant has an authentic Adirondack Camp / log cabin feel. The food is just ok and it's just as expensive as every other bar around. It's the regular Sysco stuff (you know... pre-grilled chicken microwaved to go on top of a salad). It's not bad. It's just that it's like everywhere else. Meh. Nothing amazing here. The staff is mostly unprofessional... lots of profanity, smoking around guests, mowing the lawn shirtless, peeling out in go carts....behavior not in keeping with the experience you'd expect. Wait staff are OK, but it seems as though the management is just hoping the grounds and the location will be enough to pull people in.... And they're probably correct. They do have some weird rules: Breakfast ends at 11 and lunch starts at noon, which means that there is an hour from 11-12noon where they won't let any new customers come in. They'll actually turn you away... while they have people sitting inside finishing their drinks and food (surrounded by open tables). The staff know this is dumb and woefully off putting, but they seem to take sadistic delight in the enforcement of it. Here's what you should do. Show up, mid day. Ask for a seat on the upper deck over looking the lake. Put your name in. If they don't have a seat on the deck tell them you'll wait for one to open up. Go back to your car and grab a couple of your own drinks you had the foresight to bring with you. Walk around the grounds. Enjoy the place. It's lovely. When your table is ready...Get a couple of their mediocre (and kinda weak) "specialty" cocktails. Order something easy (think fried fish or pulled pork). Soak in the view. Enjoy watching people dock their boats below. Just Don't plan on this place for dinner. You'll be happy. read more
