This was our first time going to this Thai food cart and it won't be the last time! This food cart aren't like any other Thai food carts out there. Their menu is different like what the owners wrote on yelp you won't find Pad Thai, Pad Krapow or Drunken Noodles here. Their menu is so unique. We ordered mango shrimp salad it was delicious, and flavorful (10/10) We also ordered Thai tea, and pink lady(lychee drink) not pictured and it was refreshing on a sunny day. read more

Tucked inside the "French quarter" food truck pod, this is the highlight. They are so friendly, can make edits to menu items and are quick. The food is so fresh. The "larb" dish is incredible and SO flavorful- I crave it constantly. There is often live music as well so perfect to grab food, a beer or wine, and listen to great music. read more

I was greeted with a warm welcome right away by Alex. Very clean area and very nice staff. I was intrigued by their drink menu. Sometimes I walk around in a daze, overwhelmed by all the sights and sounds around me. That must have been what happened to me here. I thought that I had ordered the Curry of the Day. I paid and got a buzzer. When the buzzer went off, I went and picked up my food. It came in two containers. Once with the curry, the other with the rice. Excellent service. We had picked up food to create a mini-international buffet which we took to our friend's house. When we laid everything out, the Sushi went first. After that, it was whatever was closest but nothing else could touch the sushi in quality or selection. I'm not sure that anyone actually touched the Curry. I know that no one touched the rice. I guess I failed here because I didn't at least try it before we left for our hotel. I'm a Curry Freak. Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, sweet and mild or sweat inducing spicy, with or without coconut milk. However, looking at this curry, without stirring it up, it offered no hints as to what was hiding beneath the surface. I'm sure that I probably ordered Shrimp as the protein and expected to see some shrimp or veg poking out of the sauce but no. That's why I'm giving a neutral rating of 3*. read more

Came through for another food truck but since they were about to open I wanted to try their Thai iced tea. Thai iced tea is good. Not super sweet or too strong. You'd be surprised how some places could get this really wrong. Curry chicken puff is delish. Flaky and perfectly balanced. It wasn't all pastry and no meat like some places. I order the Gai Zapp and can't stop, won't stop eating it. The dish is so well balanced, it's making my taste buds sing. I taste my wife's Khao Soi and have to say I'm jealous. The coconut curry in the Khao Soi could be the best I've ever tasted. The Khao Soi is only available on Friday or Saturday. I'm so happy proper Thai street food has made its way to SW PDX. Bluebird is up there with Nong's, but packs way more flavor than Nong's. I love the presentation, service is good, everything is reasonably priced. This could be our new favorite Thai restaurant in all of PDX. read more

Honestly it kind of just tastes like Tyson chicken strips (in a really good way) but it has the most delicious sauce all over it. I loved everything about it! Food was delicious, the chef was friendly, and the portion was plenty. I had the leftover for another meal at home. We both got the curry (1 Panang, 1 Mango) with tofu. One of the carts I hadn't tried yet in the French Quarter-Multnomah Village. I kept looking at their menu when I visited. Someone suggested their chicken salad. This would not be my first choice. I was sharing a table with this fella, we were both enjoying pints outside from the beer cart. He said the Bluebird Thai will not disappoint and he goes for their Chicken Salad. It is a large salad with generous pieces of chicken and a lite, lime dressing. This was a great value - $9 and a healthy choice. I ordered and waited a bit for my buzzer to go off, I left and went inside John's Marketplace, came back, waited some more and walah! It was fun to try a new dish from a new cart. High quality, friendly, busy, efficient. Nice people. They seem to accommoate a lot of folks ordering up to the last nminute, which is kind. read more

Stumbled upon this cute little Thai food cart! Their menu sounds so yummy, especially their drink menu. I couldn't resist and ordered myself a Pink Lady. Which it's lychee and pomegranate flavor, with actual lychee inside. It was perfect for the sunny hot Portland days. It was refreshing, fruity, and not too sweet. Just how I like it. Customer service was also so great! They were very sweet and caring. They sanitized the iPad for me right before handing to me to sign and then pumped me a squirt of hand sanitizer right after I pay. It's been a while, but I've been to Bluebird a number of times in years past--the owners (husband and wife pair) have always been very friendly and polite, so I really give them 3.5 stars for this reason. I ordered the khao soi today, which is offered on Thursday/Friday during the fall/winter seasons. Unfortunately, it was very bland, even after adding hot chili oil. At a price tag of $15 from a food cart, it is also more expensive than the khao soi at the full service Thai restaurant I frequent in Lake Oswego. The regular curry dishes have increased in price from $9 to $14, and while I understand inflation and increased cost of goods, I no longer see the value in going to a cart that does not offer online ordering, difficult calling in a phone order (made 2 attempts without success), limited hours and menu, difficult parking, and less overhead compared to a full service restaurant. One star off for value; one star off for flavor. If I were already in the French quarter area, or was looking for convenience within walking distance, I would consider trying this establishment, but not for the khao soi, and I wouldn't make a special trip. read more

Ordered the nutty chicken as it looked so pretty in the picture and it was tasty. One of the concerns I had for eating out has always been the lack of greens but i m glad that i can find big chunky and nicely cooked broccoli in this dish. The nutty flavor in the sauce--a bit sweet--tastes sort of like peanut butter. The chicken are nicely marinated in the sauce. Rice was good too. Overall, it matched my expectation. The portion was definitely very well worth the $9 paid too. Would highly recommend! read more

4/25/19: First time here. Had the drunken noodles. Very tasty. Right amount of spice and sweet. Veggies were not over cooked and perfectly fresh and crunchy. At $9 is very well priced. The food cart pod itself is clean and has a friendly vibe. I'll be returning here. Update 7/20/19: I've eaten here a few times now. Each meal has been excellent. My favorite was their curry (perfect balance of heat and flavor) until I had the Kuay Teaw Lui Suan (Thai noodle salad). Wow. Just wow. The dressing is light and flavorful (they should bottle it), the noodles were wonderfully firm. Like the other dishes I've had, the balance of subtle flavors and textures really elevate this dish to something fantastic. read more
