La's a home food cart is my all time favorite food cart in the aloha area! I always get her sausage with sticky rice and her addicting spicy pepper dipping sauce for the sausage! She's been my favorite food card since back in 2016 I believe. The sweetest lady and her service has always been A1! You can definitely tell that the Hmong sausage is home made. The sausages that I would get while I was living at California tasted nothing like this. I love that you can taste the herbs much more in the Hmong sausages. The stuffed chicken wings did not disappoint as well. The papaya salad tasted fresh, pungent, and spicy. The owner is so nice and genuine as well. Personally it was comforting to have La's Hmong food cart around the area. If I ever felt homesick and missed my cultures food, this was the place to go. read more

The wings were crispy, stuffed with AMAZING flavor, the pork was so tender, and the herbs in the homemade sausage were fabulous!!! Everyone was happy, and then some. What made this experience stand out so much over other food carts was La herself! She was passionate, excited about what she does, and shared some of her story with us. Our kiddo, Braedan, has a harder time with new/different flavors than he regularly has, or if it's not simple fast food/pizza... As we left he was raving about the food here, specifically the wings! This is a must try food cart. Owner is super nice and friendly. Very generous portion size and tasty Hmong food. Took Phat wings, pork ribs, papaya salad and the David ( banh mi). Never had a phat wing before . Chicken wings that's stuffed with noodles , minced meat and other ingredients. Taste wise it's good. Personally I Loved ribs and the David. For me, those 2 would be the go to items in future. Cart is not open all days of the week and do check before you go. You can get ala cart of all the meat without rice as well. read more

I've never had Hmong food before, I imagine this is a good intro. The owner is friendly and delightful. We tried the wings and the sausage, which I believe is made at the cart. Since that seemed to be a very meaty meal, also got the green papaya salad. -wings: how she gets the bones out in order to stuff them, I do not know, it's magic! They are stuffed with mung bean noodles, carrots, and ground meat. Easy to eat as they are boneless, and a beautiful golden brown -sausages: good sized and nicely made, but just not the flavor profile I like. I preferred to dip them in the sweet chili sauce that cake with the wings rather than the spicy green pepper sauce they came with -papaya salad: you can specify how many chilies you want mixed in. We chose 1, and it was HAWT!!! We brought it home and mixed in cabbage, but it was still quite spicy. So err on the side of mild/no chilies unless you are truly a hot pepper aficionado! read more

Been meaning to try this place for months and it was more than worth the wait. This food and the staff are both top notch. I ordered the stuffed chicken wings (must order), the Lao sausage (must order), and the twice cooked pork ribs which were just okay in comparison to the other two. Nonetheless the chili dipping sauce and flavor of it all is something I'll be running back to soon. I hope everyone gets to try this place it's an absolute gem. read more

Why! Why we never had Hmong's chicken wings before. It's 100% satisfying! They are BONELESS awesomeness! How did they do that! Haha seriously we are still talking about it. Never liked anything at this food pod in particular but glad we decided to swing by after swim. $4.75 a gigantic wing! We ordered 3 and the lady owner gave us 4. So generous. Plus her spicy sauce that she warned us! It's out of this world. Perfecto! Love every bite. Promise, we will go back soon and have to try everything on the menu. It is worth traveling here just to eat these phat wings that are stuffed and deboned. We were lucky enough to experience the food at the Beaverton market that happens twice a year. Now I am willing to travel out to where this cart is just to eat everything else on the menu and maybe take a bunch of wings to go so we can chow down on them at home. My in-laws who live in CO read about this food cart in a magazine article. It's perfect place for lunch due to their limited hours. We ate the sausage, ribs and stuffed chicken wings. We couldn't finish everything between the two of us. It was all very well prepared and yummy. The chicken wing is what you really need to get because I think magic was involved in making it. I don't want to spoil it for you by saying too much. I haven't had anything like it. Will be getting the David and the salad soon. And when we couldn't finish the ribs and rice in one sitting we took the leftovers home and made fried rice for two people the next day. I Even used the slaw (after rinsing). I felt like I was on some cooking show where the contestants use only take out leftovers. It makes a mean fried rice with a few added toppings including that hot pepper sauce they offer. I forgot to take a photo but I got the David yesterday and it was superb. Best banh mi I've had since moving to the PDX area in 2016. Foot long baguette, packed with delicious pork, covered in well pickled thin sliced daikon and carrots. I really enjoyed the length slices of the peppers versus circle cut. So much crunch and comfortable heat. The chef was personable and warm, and out care into packing the filling so that spillage was really at a minimum when I began to eat. Sweet Swirling Asparagus Tips!!! This place is amazing! I took my kids here as a treat today, and we were in heaven! Hands-down, The David is the best non-Bahn Mi I've had this side of the world. It was delicious. The pork was so tender and tasty and didn't have the gross sweet flavor that many other places that serve a similar sandwich have. It doesn't disappoint. We also ordered the stuffed chicken to try. Heck yeah! So, so good. It was perfectly grilled and stuffed with awesomeness. I don't even know what all was in there, but it was like a chicken wing stuffed with a spring roll or something. My other kid got the ribs. He's extremely hard to please and likes very few things. But these, oh man, he scarfed. Some of the best he's ever had, he said. I'm still drooling at how amazing this place was. I really want to try the papaya salad next time. @La is a special place. Y'all know I love "dropping pins" in new ethnic experiences. I came across @La the first few hours I was in Aloha, but I couldn't make it to their open hours until today. I've been thinking about the Phat Wings since then, and it was a pleasure to finally meet La, chat about her vision for creating a Hmong presence in the food ecosphere, and then to try the wings. They're very, very good! Subtle, crispy, filled with goodness, accompanied by a typical sweet-and-sour red sauce or a unique fish sauce, lemongrass, and spicy pepper "salsa". Filling, yes, but a light eat. Also fabulous, but completely different, are La's pork sausage, made from locally-sourced meat. (La's husband works with the pig farmers & butchers.) Tasty, plump, with the mildest hint of fish sauce and cilantro. La and her husband were a pleasure to meet, their creations a pleasure to eat, and she teases upcoming Hmong treats (which I can't wait to taste). read more

So I happened to be in the area picking up groceries and I remembered that @La's was nearby so I had to pop by to grab some lunch! Crack cuisine served up in a modest food truck. Tried the phat wings, homemade sausage, bbq pork and the David(don't dare call it the Vietnamese style sandwich). All were palate pleasing dishes with flavor explosions in every bite. Those sausages are stuffed with ground kaffir lime leaves which is such a distinct, amazing flavor enhancer to southeast Asian cuisine. If I had only one choice, out of all the dishes served up here, all of 6 or so dishes , my favorite is hands down, the sausages. read more

The David!!! Thing is hugely stuffed with vegetables and meat is packed with flavors! If you like banh mi sandwiches you'll love The David! Not sure what else she puts in it but the sauce she puts in it is amazing as well. Definitely going to recommend people to try it. It's been a while since a food cart hit such a home run for me... I had never heard of Hmong cuisine before, but it sounded like it checked all my asian flavour boxes. Wow! As usual with a new place, I hedged my bets and ordered a few things. I ordered the David (which is definitely not a Bahn Mi, apparently). Best Bahn Mi I've had in a long time, sorry David. The brisket inside it is saucy and sweet and a great contrast to the other flavours. I also ordered one Phat Wing, as a side (you can get it with rice too) and it was yummy. Like a chicken wing and a spring roll had a beautiful fat baby. Great sweet chili dip on the side for the wing too. Last but definitely not least. The sausage. I should've ordered ten of these sausages. But then I would look like one of these sausages, so one was probably enough today. It was incredible. A flavour bomb for me. I've always loved Thai / Vietnamese sausages when I can find them at a restaurant. They're usually expensive and they're often pretty dry. These are $3.25 each! These are perfect! All lemongrass and aromatics and herbs, but in a moist and hot grilled sausage. I'm in love. I'll be back, and often! read more
