Bridge VS is an amazing service. Through email, phone and in person, everyone there was so kind and patient with me as my cat's health was failing. Eventually they had to come to my house to put her to sleep. They all made the process as painless as possible. I want to single out Barb and Jennifer for their help and compassion. I cannot give enough stars to Bridge vet services!!! Even my general vet was extremely impressed about their communication and write up of Milo's report! She said it was so thorough and caring... she couldn't wait to refer her clients to Bridge. It was heartbreaking for me to hear my heart and soul is dying. I have been with my dog Milo for 12 years, he came with me from Belgium (pound pup) and we have had so many adventures, cross country trip, desert road trips, hikes etc etc. (he is the one on the beach; in their gallery) When I contacted Bridge I initially talked to Mia and just by talking to hear I knew this was what I wanted to do. Jen, the vet that would come to us, even called me upfront just to assure me as well before I would really go ahead. And I could not be happier with that decision. I briefly do want to address the one negative review on here as I could not disagree more with her. I understand her grief, as I am going through it, but to me it sounds like miss-communication and misunderstanding from her part, and lashing out her pain. They clearly state to cc everyone in your email, as your vet could be with someone else at the time and wouldn't be able to respond right away. Anyway, please continue reading as I will explain why I am so incredibly happy I went with Bridge: They are really good with communication, and though not their immediate policy they HAVE even responded to me after hours regularly (please don't expect them to respond in the middle of the night, they are not an ER ;) but when they are awake and see your email they often do). When my vet, Jen, cannot respond, someone else always does, and if needed they will call too. They recommend email because that way you can cc everyone and there is a history available for everyone to catch up on. Communication: they are on it! Yes they initially have something that looks like fit all, but that is because guess what; all dogs and cats behave alike when in pain and they have to start at the baseline animal. They DO know about exceptions as my dog is very stoic when it comes to pain. They realized this quickly and addressed accordingly. Remember; they are not psychic, when it comes to YOUR dog, YOU should be the know knowing YOUR dog best. And so when I mentioned that my dog has a high pain tolerance they did listen, and when they noticed how he responded to the meds (something I communicated to them, as you need to keep telling them what is going on in order for them to be able to act accordingly), they quickly adapted it to suit his needs. My dog started trotting around again and is a lot more happy. On top of pain meds he also gets supplements that should help slow down his cancer and help prevent a sudden eruption of a tumor because it slows bleeding... see next paragraph where I talk about the comfort kit: Comfort kit: the type of cancer he has, when left unsupervised could potentially end horribly. He has blood tumors, and when one pops he will bleed out internally. If this happens in his lungs, he will literally drown in his blood. It would mean a rush to the ER to put him to sleep; while he is terrified for the vet office. This would be a very traumatic death for him and me. So now with the supplements, that will help slow the bleeding, there is less chance of a need to rush to the ER. However a slow bleed in the lungs is still terrifying for the dog so on top of that Bridge offered the option for a comfort kit. Yep it is anywhere between $100-$200 depending on the size of the dog; but who would not want the option for a comfortable and painless death for their sweetheart?? It is a sedative that you can give so when something like this happens, they will fall asleep or at least be very very calm instead of panicking. Then you often even have the time to schedule an in home euthanasia where your love can die in the comfort of your home. (Sorry I do not understand anyone who would want differently than this, but to each his/ her own) For me personally something else that I really love about them is that I don't have to go through this alone now. I am a happy single, but the down side of that can be that I have to go through sad things alone. I have friends lol but now I have very specific support and when I am worried about his elevated heart rate, or his gum color, I have someone to ask and to help assure me. They will also help with cremation if so desired and in my case; they will even help send the remains to someone who can preserve the skull of my baby. Everyone I spoke to so far is so incredibly supportive and kind. They all have animals, Mia even has a dog that looks so much like my Milo! His sister from another mister! :D The best of all is that Milo has so much less pain than he had! Pain free I would almost dare claim. And he looks happy again. read more

From my very first call to the weeks following the passing of my pet, the entire staff and team at PetHospice helped me feel supported during this painful process. This happened during Covid-19 shelter in place when very few vets were making house calls. I was so appreciative of this service. Danielle responded promptly and compassionately to my questions on chat as well as via phone and email. Audra was incredible, staying with us for 2-hours through the process of us saying goodbye to our sweet cat. They followed up with us, after, offering support, kindness and resources. Words just cannot describe how wonderful the Bridge Veterinary Service and Dr. Scott Cox were in helping us with our beloved cat Sky's last moments on this earth. I would give their service 6 stars if I could. Sky had become very ill with chronic renal failure and was hospitalized for 2 days. After several days of not getting better, we decided that we wanted her last days to be at home so she could be amongst family when her time comes. Bridge Veterinary Service offers an at home euthanasia, so Sky could pass in the comfort of her home with family. On the day of her appointment Sky was getting worse and started to have frequent seizures. We called Dr. Cox to see if he could come in early to ease her suffering. He was completely understanding and flexible and came at 9 AM even though our appointment was at 3 PM. Dr. Scott was one of the most kind and empathetic vets I have ever met. His personality was very warm and comforting, he spoke with a soft soothing voice and did not rush us at all. His bedside manner was above and beyond what up we could ever hope for. My wife and I are physicians and we were so impressed by his bedside demeanor which honestly was far superior to that of other physicians that we have interacted with in the past. He made the process of euthanasia one that was kind, compassionate and gentle. He gave us all the time that we needed with Sky and did not run on the schedule at all. When it was time to say goodbye to her, he gently wrapped her in a warm blanket and carried her with the care as if she was his own cat. He even helped us with after-life planning and alleviated our fears and concerns about the individual cremation process. We couldn't be more impressed with the care that he delivered for us. To go through such a difficult time can be devastating, but Dr. Cox really helped us through it and helped Sky pass with dignity in a humane loving process. We are so thankful for Dr. Cox and would highly recommend him to anyone going through the end of a life of a beloved pet. read more

Dr. Cox was wonderful. It is so painful to let a buddy go. I changed my mind on three separate days before I could have a doctor come over to put my cat to sleep. I called Drs. Cox at 11 on a Sunday. Dr. Scott Cox was there at 3. Dr. Shea Cox was so kind and supportive on the phone. When Dr. Scott Cox came, I knew that this was going to be a procedure done by a kind, understanding man. He gave us plenty of time to hold my cat, Magic. We went through some spiritual readings, song, prayers. We cried as much as we wanted. They give you a three hour slot in case you need the time. Our hour was all we needed without feeling the least bit rushed. Scott cared about my cat and cared about us. I could not have asked for a better person to send my Magic on his way. When we were done, my girlfriend went out to Scott's car. He had my cat's body in the front seat with him, rather than in the back. She thanked him. She told me he had tears in his eyes at one point as we went through our process of saying goodbye. I highly recommend this group of kind people when you have to say goodbye to your animal buddy. read more

My family had to make the tough decision of putting our 14 year old golden retriever to sleep, and called different a few different services to schedule a same day appointment for an at home euthanasia. None of them met us with the kindness that Bridge Vet Services did. Bridge has an online scheduling system which made it easy for us to see what was available that afternoon. Dr. Kara arrived on time and was sweet and compassionate from the start. She took her time to explain the process to us and left room for questions at every step. She didn't rush us and allowed us to tell her when we were ready so that we could say our proper goodbyes and give Casper some last hugs on his final day. My brother and I were comfortable knowing that our sweet Casper was going to be in Dr. Kara's care after leaving our home. I can't thank the Bridge team enough for how easy and peaceful they made an incredibly difficult experience. Obviously nothing can take away the pain of losing your precious pet. We had to put our beautiful cat Chloe down last month, and I was absolutely dreading taking her to the vet. When our vet tech suggested Bridge, we were absolutely sold. From the very first email communication with Barb and Shea, to the actual appointment with Kara. We were treated with the utmost care, concern, and compassion. The appointment with Kara was as peaceful and loving as possible. She explained everything to us and allowed us to take our own time to prepare ourselves. I felt totally comfortable becoming emotional with her there, and I'm happy that I was able to say goodbye to Chloe in a way that felt authentic and compassionate. I also loved that the whole time the focus was on Chloe. Kara asked us about our memories with her and talked to us about grief and what to expect. Now I have her ashes back and they are sitting on our fireplace looking over us. Even when we went to pick up the ashes they were wrapped and packaged beautifully and it is obvious that they know and fully understand what our pets truly mean to us. As far as I'm concerned, there really is no other option in the area for end of life care and in home euthanasia. I really can't sing their praises any higher. read more

Our beloved dog Shakira was diagnosed with kidney failure, and our vet told us our different attempts to treat her were no longer helpful, and that we should make arrangements to bring her in. We didn't want Shakira's last experience to be in a vet hospital, and looked for in-home alternatives. I called Bridge Veterinary Services, and promptly received a call back from Dr. Shea Cox. We arranged for her to come to our home. Dr. Cox couldn't have been more caring, compassionate, loving to our dog, and respectful of us in our emotional time of need. She took her time and cared for Shakira, petting her, relaxing her, and just making the experience as peaceful and comforting as possible. Blue Pearl helped my lovely 17 year old dog pass over the rainbow bridge. The situation was heartbreaking and they made it bearable.

My pet was diagnosed with renal lymphoma, which never ends well. It was the first time I'd gone to the e-vet with any animal and had the vet go right to discussing hospice or euthanasia. Dr. Cox is associated with the clinic and was recommended for hospice veterinary care or euthanasia. I opted for the latter, rather than put my cat and me through six months (or less) of bargaining with the fates. Dr. Cox arrived promptly, is very soft spoken and gentle and was willing to give me a lot of time. The appointment slot was three hours, which I did not need. I did not want to draw it out, having spent the weekend and today being with my ailing pet. I got the impression other pet owners take time to say goodbye at the various stages, so this is good if you are a pet lover who wants to say a prayer or something. The procedure was gentle, the cat was never frightened, and we did not have to sit in a waiting room. Note that a housecall costs a lot more than a visit, but this was worth it for me and my pet. Her prices are on her web page. There is also a fee for the disposition of the animal's body. She uses the same service everyone else uses, and charges the same. This is appointment-based during work hours. Again, it was worth it to me to take a PTO day for my little friend of 11 years. I recommend this doctor and her services highly. read more

When it was time to let go of our beloved dog, we felt it important that she should pass at home in peace and comfort with her family. Scott's care and sensitivity made the process so peaceful for her. Our biggest fear was that she might feel scared or unsure in her last moments, but his peaceful presence put all of us at ease. She passed with dignity and grace under his care. I don't think it would be possible to do better work than Scott did. He was so sensitive to all of us, very observant, patient and caring. First, this is a hard review to write, because we just put our 14 year old black lab, Cinder, down two weeks ago. I made the appointment online after reading all the great reviews on Yelp. The appointment process was fairly simple and I received a confirmation soon after. The confirmation also included details as to whether we wanted a private cremation or had other burial plans. We did want the private cremation. The morning of the set appointment, my husband and I were having mixed feelings about it. I called and spoke to Barb and it was almost like a counseling session. We ended up keeping the appointment for 6 pm that day. When Kara arrived, we were still doubting our decision. Cinder's spirit was so strong but his body was just failing him. For the past year, we had to pick him up because he could no longer get up on his own. Once he was up, though, he loved to go for walks, even if it were just down the block. Our hearts were broken but we decided to put Cinder down. The process was so respectful to our family. Kara gave him a sedative so that he would be in a deep sleep. Lots of crying and praying on our end. When we were finally ready to let go, we let Kara know and she gave him the shot in his stomach. She walked us through the whole process and what we should expect. In the end, cinder was carried off on a stretcher, covered with a blanket and taken to her car. We have since picked up Cinder's ashes and they were in a beautiful wooden box with his name on it. Our family is still heart broken but thankful that we found Bridge to help us during this time. I recently had to say goodbye to my dog Sophie after a 5 month battle with lymphoma and I could not be more grateful to Barb at Bridge Vets for the service she provided. I suppose I was fortunate in that I had some time to plan to Sophie's passing, knowing that her lymphoma was not curable, so we were able to meet Barb in person 2 months beforehand when Sophie was still feeling good. Sophie was comfortable with her right away, which was a rarity for her meeting new people. Barb took a lot of time asking questions about quality of life concerns and also talked me through the in-home euthanasia process so that I would know what it entailed. When Sophie's physical condition started to degenerate pretty quickly, Barb was responsive via text and phone call and was able to book an in-home euthanasia appointment with me the following day. Note: Bridge offers the option of booking multiple appointment times in case you decide you're not ready to follow through for whatever reason. When Barb came to the house she went over the process with my present family members. Because Sophie was small enough, she was able to administer her sedative with an insulin needle so she wasn't even aware of the injection. She fell asleep peacefully on her favorite blanket within a few minutes. Then, when I was ready, I held her in my arms and Barb administered the euthanasia injection in Sophie's stomach, covered by a blanket so that I wouldn't see it. Unlike at a vet's office, Barb was able to administer an injection that very gradually slowed down Sophie's breathing over a few minutes, making her passing as peaceful as it could have possibly been. After she passed, we laid her on a blanket so that everyone could pet her and say their goodbyes. Barb made her pawprint impressions in clay and trimmed a little bit of her hair for me to keep. She didn't rush us at all, but when it was time to take Sophie away, she wrapped her in a soft blanket and put her in a dog bed in the front seat of her car. A few days after Sophie's passing I received a sympathy card and donation in Sophie's name to the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care. If you are ever faced with having to decide to say goodbye with your pet, I cannot recommend Bridge Vet Services enough. Their compassion and kindness is something I will be forever thankful for. read more

Our mastiff Thora was diagnosed with degenerative myelopathy, a progressive and incurable disease of the spinal cord in older dogs. She was only six at the time of diagnosis, and she lived to be almost eight, with mobility issues that increased steadily but did not prevent her from having a good quality of life. When the end came it was pretty abrupt. She picked a spot in the yard and stopped moving altogether. We brought her water and treats. I made her chicken broth and held it to her mouth so she could drink it. Then she stopped being interested in food or water, and early in the morning, she died. We already had an appointment scheduled with Bridge Veterinary Services for that day. Because Thora was 120 pounds, we were not able to transport her for veterinary care without her cooperation. But this company was very helpful, even though hospice and euthanasia had both become redundant options. The vet drove out to meet us and she was warm and immensely kind. She made a plaster cast of Thora's paw for us, then we loaded Thora onto a stretcher and the vet took her away for cremation. Today I received her ashes back in a beautiful cedarwood box. I feel that my dog is with me again and while I'm heartbroken, I'm just so grateful for everyone who helped me on my saddest day. read more

Our cat got sick and deteriorated pretty quickly. Our regular vet wouldn't do a house call and the last thing we wanted was to put stress on our boy by taking him in. I did a quick search of in home euthanasia vets and found Pet Hospice. I called them in the morning and they had an appointment for the same day. Our Ben was able to sit on his heating pad on the couch. He was so content that I know he didn't feel a thing. As painful as it was for us to say goodbye, having Pet Hospice come to us was the best decision we could've made. Danielle was so caring and compassionate. She explained each step of the process and at the end, she very gently wrapped him in a blanket. We received a sympathy card from her about a week later which was very kind of her. read more

Thank you for making such a painful moment bearable. My baby was very ill and given how many times we had gone to the vet I didn't want her scared before being put down. We decided to get pet hospice. We signed up online and they checked in with us a bit later. Kara, was on time, very professional, and knowledgeable. She was respectful and gave us time to say our goodbyes, walked us through the process and made sure we were all comfortable before giving her the injections. It was a very emotional experience and I can't imagine doing this at a vet. It cost us $500 and it was refundable by my insurance. We had to put our cat down just less than a week ago. Instead of doing this at an emergency clinic we decided to do this in our own home where our cat was most comfortable. In the end, this was the best choice. Kara arrived. She arrived earlier than our original appt. at our request since Bubba was obviously not well. We appreciated her quick response. Kara entered in such a gentle and understanding manner. She was professional and personal at the same time, giving us her complete attention. She clearly explained the process and gave us all the time we needed for our "goodbye". Each step of the way she was extremely soft with Bubba and with us. After Bubba's passing she neatly folded the blanket and placed Bubba quietly down to go with her in the car. The service provided was exceptional. On Sunday, January 20 our family gathered and we were assisted by Dr. Kara Harphan DVM in the releasing of our beloved Toni Cat from this life. She arrived with a peaceful and caring presence. The provider who came , Barb, was truly amazing and compassionate and soothed both of us as well as our cat.She took plenty of time and never rushed. It's so hard to lose a dog, especially a dog that has a monk like personality. We lost such a dog and a vet named Kara was sent to us by Bridge Vet Services. If you can request her, I would. She was as compassionate and as caring as it gets, like and angel. The dog was suffering and she helped us let go in the best way possible. It's never easy and many months later we tear up, but we tear up for our loss of an imaginary future that never could have been. This service is amazing! I didn't even know such services existed until 10 days ago. Our beloved 12 year old dog, Simon had an incrediblly fast growing tumor that erupted just a week after the covid-19 stay at home order was implemented. Our fantastic vet (Margo Reid who makes house calls)finally felt there was nothing more we could do to save him and recommended Pet Hospice (formally Bridge). We contacted them a week ago We'd and Dr Andrea was at our house by 4 that day (masked and socially distanced from us). She suggested we set up a euthanasia appointment for Friday. I was devastated, I thought we'd have more time. But by Thursday I knew she was right. She gave u meds to start calming him for 2 hours before she arrived. Long story short she was fantastic! She was so sensitive to our our guy's needs and ours. She was truly caring an unbelievably patient with Simon (And us). Having been through this heartbreaking situation with 2 previous dogs who were not "put down" at the Vet's office, this experience was as good as it possibly could be. Today we received Simon's paw print in prayer with his name engraved in the plaster along with a packet of forget-me-not seeds. Many many thanks to Dr Andrea and her team, Lisa, Mia and Jenna. They were amazing from my first call through to the end. Barb, who came to our house, was so compassionate and caring. She made an incredibly difficult situation a little bit easier. We miss our Wrigley boy so much but know he is in a better place and not suffering any more. read more

I was tremendously impressed with the compassion and care from this team when it was time to put my sweet dog down last year. When the time came it was clear that it needed to happen quickly so that he wouldn't suffer any longer. Thankfully, they were able to send Kara out the same day that I had called. Kara was amazing both with me and my dog. I'm forever grateful for her kindness and compassion that day. read more
