Fun spot with a nice ambiance. We arrived at 5:45 on a Saturday evening and you could just walk in without a reservation at that time - although we had one. Seems like it picks up later, but then again we eat early so it's expected. The calamari was pretty good, nothing extraordinary but still good nonetheless. The Cab you can order by the glass was super smooth - I do recommend. Just a heads up, they don't have a full bar here - just beer, wines and I believe champagne (but not certain on the champagne). My wife said the pizza wasn't the best and wasn't thrilled with her dish. However, I ordered their Naples pasta (with added chicken) and it was SO good. If you like butter/ cheese, you can't go wrong with this pasta. It was definitely one of the best pastas I've had in a while. The service was friendly and fast. There was live entertainment from a guy performing who was very interactive (in a good way, not overly intrusive) with those of us there. My friend and I arrived just as Gregorio was opening and he couldn't have been nicer!! Seated us right away, gave us time to ponder the menu, prepared a delicious Cappuccino and brought a delightful Athens Plate with beautifully packed dolmades, flavorful and chunky hummus and tzatziki, delicious olives and really delicious pita bread. The atmosphere here is classy but laid back. The inside is decorated nicely and we felt welcome and valued as customers. Gregorio recognized we had a lot of catching up to do on serious subjects and so he let us sit for a while after we finished our meal. Love that!! The Little Oliva is a chain restaurant. The decor at this location is similar to the one on the hill, and it's very inviting. I really like the ambiance. It wasn't until I went to use the restroom that I realized just how much seating they have, both indoors and outdoors. They open the doors wide open so you can enjoy the wonderful beach air while sitting indoors, too. I was advised I could sit anywhere, so I chose a table outdoors in the corner. The majority of the tables in the outdoor front area are shaded and comfortable. I could feel the ocean air blowing through. I ordered a latte with oat milk and the Greek Omelette which comes with a side of potatoes, side salad, and bread. No design in my latte this time. This is the thing, the food looks way better than it tastes. It's all a little bland. From the latte to the food. The roasted potatoes were most likely the best tasting item on my plate. The service was friendly and efficient. She noticed a gnat was in my glass of ice water when she was pouring and replaced it immediately, before placing it on my table. read more

Great little Mediterranean spot that has something for everyone. Came by on a Friday evening and it was pretty empty. They have indoor and outdoor seating in the popular Riviera area. There's also an underground parking garage right next to it, which is nice because street parking around there fills up pretty quickly. I got the Moussaka and my wife got a chicken wrap. The Moussaka come in a bowl soaked in their delicious bechemel sauce. The potatoes and ground beef are a nice touch because I'm used to the vegetarian eggplant version. They serve little pita and olives on the table as starters, and the servers there are great. They even had some live music that wasn't too loud. Great spot for a date night or a family dinner. Was happily surprised by this place! We came here for lunch, and I love the fact that you can order breakfast foods at any point, even when it's lunchtime. We ended up getting the Athens plate as an appetizer, which came out really quickly, and everything tasted awesome! The hummus actually tasted fresh. Highly recommend this one. We split the Bronzino fish and the prosciutto pizza. Keep in mind, this is not an Italian place, so for what it is, it was pretty decent. I had previously booked a table for 6pm on February 6th to celebrate my husband's birthday and specifically requested to be seated near the live performer, having had a positive experience at this restaurant previously for a friend's birthday dinner with a party of 8. I dropped off the birthday cake in the afternoon. However, upon arrival, the waiter Gregory informed us that there was no record of our reservation, despite my showing him the confirmation text and the cake. We were offered a table far from the performer, which was not what we wanted, so we left without dining. This resulted in a disappointing conclusion to what was supposed to be a special evening. This location of The Little Oliva restaurant chain is one of their latest additions. It's located right in the heart of Riviera Village, so it's very easy to find, and there is plenty of parking in the area for its customers. In terms of overall design, this is a large restaurant space. For those of us from this area, you will know that there's been several different restaurants located within this building over the past several years. This being said, it remains a very nice and inviting space with both a great indoor dining area as well as a large outdoor patio. I always prefer the outdoor patio, because it really allows you to take in the air and the culture of this beach city. In terms of their food, they offer a nice selection of modern cuisine. The food is all well prepared, and it is very nicely presented. The one word of warning I will provided, regarding their food and its preparation is that, with the last meal I ate at Little Oliva I did bite into three small olive pits. I know some people break their teeth by biting into an olive pit. So, if you're eating anything with olives in it, make sure the pits are fully gone before you simply bite down. The staff at this location all seem to be very nice. I was there recently when they were first putting things together in the morning and you could really tell the care they were taking in getting the placement of all of the glasses and the silverware on their tables just right. One of the best things about this restaurant is that they open early. So, if you're looking to grab that great meal in the A.M., this is your place to do just that. Found this place on Yelp, and stopped in for dinner on my birthday after a candlelight concert on the Queen Mary in Long Beach. We arrived at 8:30 PM with a reservation on a Thursday night. My friend and I were craving Mediterranean and after a little Yelp search we found The Little Olivia! Whether grabbing dinner with a friend, having a date night, or a large gathering, this place can accommodate all avenues. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating flowing into each other without being/feeling too cramped. We were greeted shortly after arriving around 6pm on a Monday night. We were given the option to sit wherever we would like since it wasn't too crowded, but slowly got more busy into the night. Our server was very friendly, although I can't remember if he introduced himself or not, so I'm not sure what his name is. He answered any questions we had about to menu and gave us time to decide. He checked in on us throughout the meal and made sure our waters were filled. They brought out pita and olives, which was lovely (although we aren't olive people). The pita was simple on its own but nice as a complementary starter. We were able to split our meal as both were generous in size with leftovers. The fish was flavorful and very moist, but there were many bones so beware! Plenty of side salad and yummy seasoned veggies, as well as several tasty roasted potatoes! The pizza was good, nothing out of this world, but I did like the delicious truffle oil flavor. Perfect thin crust for me! Overall, had a very enjoyable first experience at this restaurant in the Rivera Village. They do have a bathroom and parking on the street with paid meters until 9pm. Had lunch here with a friend and it was out of this world yummy. My first time there and loved the indoor outdoor dining and decor was so elegant relaxed. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. It was a quiet day so they allowed us a lot of time checking on us to ensure we were all good. The food was delicious we had the stuffed Avocado Caprese to share and they brought pita on side. I had the lentil soup which was delicious and my friend the chicken kebab plate. She loved it and ate the entire thing! Well since we were there for a couple hours we got to pick and eat and talk without feeling pressured to pay and go! Wanted to shout out to The Little Oliva -- we stumbled upon this restaurant, a block from the busy Friday night bustle of the village, to discover a serene indoor-outdoor ambience, well-crafted dishes and good service. It felt like a place where locals go. We shared the stuffed avo and shrimp cocktail appetizers and then enjoyed the tender trout and lamb chops, well seasoned and prepared with grilled asparagus and golden potatoes. We topped off the meal with an amazing, home-made tiramisu (rivals anything we have had at home or abroad!). Every dish exceeded expectations in flavor and presentation. Compliments to the chef for showing how much they care about their craft and their customers. Hats off also to the two busy wait crew who managed the entire floor themselves with ease and without pretense. The outdoor area is a nice option on mild eves with quaint indoor spaces to listen to softly played live music by a pianist/singer who understands how to accompany a meal with song. Finally, an unusual wine list with a number of affordable options for older wines by the glass from open bottles (2017) -- some had turned slightly- which they graciously replaced with other options for us. We sat outside and ordered a Branzino fish and a Pastrami sandwich, both were excellent. The service was prompt and friendly. Restrooms were clean. It was an enjoyable dinning experience and we would definitely come back again. Parking: we did street parking, the machine was a bit wonky, changed us for 4 hours even though we were pretty certain we set for an hour. We've gone here twice for birthday dinners. It's a fun atmosphere, usually with a musician playing live. First time it was a pianist and second time a saxophonist! My partner is part Greek and requested it for his bday dinner. The food is great and it's not hard to get a reservation. We usually get the Athens appetizer platter that has different dips, pita, and the stuffed grape leaves. I usually get the Greek lamb chops and my partner loves the moussaka. Others at our table have gotten the salmon and chicken skewers as well. Most dishes come with a good size helping of veggies and salad which is a good balance. We stumbled upon The Little Oliva when we had a not-so-great experience at another restaurant in the Riviera. Still hungry from the unsatisfying meal, we decided to take a chance after looking through the menu. Frankie greeted us with a big smile and was so friendly. We got some recommendations down and decided to go with Capri Stuffed Avocados, Athens Chicken Skewers, and Mushroom Ravioli with pink sauce. The capri stuffed avocados reminded me of a caprese salad on top of an avocado. I would have liked if the avocado was scooped out and mixed together and then placed back into the skin. That way, there would be a good combo of all ingredients and the sauce in every bite. The chicken skewers were perfectly grilled and were so juicy and lemony. This dish comes with a small side salad, grilled vegetables, and roasted potatoes. Mixing everything in the lemony dressing was absolutely delicious. I'm a huge fan of pink sauce and the mushroom ravioli did not disappoint. Everything was nicely balanced and has been a repeat order the two other times we've been there. Very happy to have found this spot. The decor is super cute and there's a parking lot nearby and plenty of spaces all around. We'll definitely be adding The Little Oliva into the rotation for date night or even family friendly restaurants. read more

I was in the Riviera Village and saw Avenue "I"taly was closed and reborn as "The Little Oliva." My wife and I decided to try this new Mediterranean restaurant. The menu looked like a mix of Greek and Italian cuisines geared towards Californians. It looked like some of the food from Avenue Italy made its way to the menu (mainly the pizzas). Let's start with service: The place server was friendly but since this was a new concept, I can tell he wasn't too familiar with the menu. I thought the service was fine overall. No concerns. Moving into the food: The server brought waters, and a complimentary basket containing some pita and a ramekin of olives. My wife enjoyed the olives. They were thoughtful to include an empty ramekin to put the olive pits in. The pita was thin, flimsy, store-bought quality and room temp. I think they should stick with the olives only. However, not everyone loves olives, so I get the pita play. It was complimentary, so I shouldn't be too critical. However, I think it would be better to either heat them up, make it from scratch, or include some type of dip. My wife had the Oliva wrap and I ordered the Oliva salad. My wife enjoyed her wrap. It was sizable. The menu said it contained walnut oil, but in reality it had pieces of walnut. The menu appeared a tiny bit off. The wrap was served with a fanned out avocado and tomato garnish. I think they should put that in the wrap and serve it with fries or a side of chips. I had the Oliva salad. It was light, fresh, and filling. The shrimp were plump and cooked perfectly. If I were to change one thing, it would be to have the tails removed from the shrimp. Also, not that it matters, but they had another menu type (sautee shrimp instead of sautéed shrimp). The ambiance - the chairs were comfy. The decorations were minimal. It was midweek, so the restaurant was pretty empty. I couldn't comment on noise levels. Value: I thought the prices were very reasonable for the portions. Overall: I'm happy to have another Mediterranean option in the village. Will I be returning? The answer is yes. read more

Price point was amazing and corkage quite reasonable. However, the Redondo location was closer, we decided to give it a try, this time for lunch. We all ordered the Oliva salad.
