I am updating my review for Bluestone Lane because of their incredible customer service in response to my original two star review. I won't get into the details, but they took my review very seriously and more than made up for my bad experience. I have been in a few times since and have had only exceptional experiences with the staff, food and coffee drinks. I only hesitate to give a full 5 stars because it's so damn expensive. The menu is very limited and nothing out of the ordinary. The staff was friendly. The coffee drinks were not good, I didn't even drink half.

Friendly staff and another coffee shop addition to the brooklyn neighborhood. Decor feels 100% like a West Elm Showroom from a few years back. I still am confused as to why Australians do not put any salt on Avocado toast. There is barely any lemon either - just straight avocado - It just always has no taste. This is a wonderful place in Dumbo. The service is excellent; the staff is friendly and helpful (especially with the new tech way to order - out of an old guy's comfort zone :-) and the food is delicious and beautifully presented. Worth a return - many times. read more

Got an almond milk latte as well- the ordering system has its flaws, i.e. They still called my name for my latte when I had a number on my table then they ended up taking the number without bringing my food. I work in the neighborhood and visit at least once a day for my caffeine fix! To be fair, even if I didn't work nearby I'd still visit - the team is fantastic, and always has a happy, positive vibe which I love. I moved to New York from Melbourne so am used to amazing and reliable coffee and Bluestone always delivers - nom nom. Plus being able to pay through the app makes things really easy. Love the vibe and glad they opened one up in our neighborhood.... BUT past two times I've been there, they forgot my drink and would take 30 minutes to make a cup of coffee... One time I asked about my drink, the server guy kept saying, it's coming out and then brushed me off.. then 30 minutes later, he said sorry what was your drink? Stopped here for breakfast/brunch this morning. Immediately +1 for this place because it doesn't make it impossible to order something if you have dietary restrictions. I can't have dairy, so I was relieved to find out their beet root latte is made by default with almond milk. No special ordering for me! The latte was delicious and a great alternative to regular coffee, which I'm trying to stay away from. They seem to have a huge selection of other lattes and iced/hot beverages, so I'll be back to try some others. I also ordered the Market Bowl, which I believe was a special. Roasted squash, brussels sprouts, broccoli, and spinach with a poached egg (it also included feta, which I asked to omit). This was a great healthy brunch, and the poached egg made it so delicious that I didn't even need the tahini they included. Very flavorful. I only wish this place were a bit less pricy. They forgot about our order and after 45 minutes of waiting, the staff had a poor attitude when I asked if they could just check to make sure its coming! Friday morning, the place wasn't busy at all, I've ordered a cappuccino and a banana on toast (it looked delicious from the pic) to stay in; they let me seat, after few minutes I've received my drink and no sign of my toast. I've waited for 40 min, everyone else around me was receiving their order, i've asked about it to the guy at the till and he told me my order was ready to take away while ago. But I didn't order a take away, I was sitting at my table waiting with my number, as I've been told to. I've asked the guy, nicely, to give me a new order, because the take away one was sitting on the till for a while (he said) and he was really rude, like it was all my fault. He went to the kitchen and he came back after few moments with a banana toast on a plate. A really cold bread toast... i bet he didn't made a new order. I think the pull is that their breakfast options are healthier than what you'd get at most brunch places. As a coffee shop, this place is great. Four, maybe five stars. I can't say enough great things about this place! The food and drinks are delish and the service is even better! The vibe is great too, a perfect place to enjoy good food & good people. The manager Sharni is absolutely above and beyond and manages the shop and team with incredible grace and leadership. Every part of our experience was enjoyable. We were greeted with friendly faces, and ordered from people who were happy to answer our questions. The fact that they offer gluten free options is AMAZING & not only that but actually DELICIOUS!! I came to visit my sister and my friend and I came back multiple times because we loved it that much. I will be back every time I'm in town. I ordered the loose leaf chai lattes and loved the way it was presented. The gluten free spreads are so flavorful and I definitely recommend the avocado smash. I never write reviews...but this place stood out like a sore thumb in my BK experience. While the hostess was incredibly friendly, that was the only redeeming factor. First of all the place is filthy, literally whole pieces of bacon on the floor, and several un cleaned table tops. The food is very over priced, small portions, and pretty low quality produce. Their "heirloom" tomatoes are run of the mill tomatoes. Food took quite some time for what we had ordered (just two pieces of toast) and again very over priced (we ended up spending $50 on just two toasts and coffee). We also mentioned our disappointment to our waitress and they didn't so much as comp our coffees. There are so many great places to eat! Id avoid this one. read more

The GF didn't like the fact that they don't have flavored Lattes but other than that this place excels. There is genuine artwork put into the drinks and the pastrys are all fresh. The coffee and tea selection is on point. What distinguishes it from alot of other places in the area is the decor is warm and inviting and it is a large area (so you can get settled and not feel too crowded in the Brooklyn hustle and bustle). Went to bluestone lane after an amazing experience there 2 years ago in Greenwich Village. As a tourist, I still wanted something not too crowded & on my way to see the rest of DUMBO. That being said, I enter the place, it said wait to be seated, the waiter told me wherever i wanted, i sat down, and waited.... and waited.... and waited, the waitress & waiters passed by me 4 or 5 times until one of them aknowledged my presence in their restaurant. So finally, I ordered the same thing, to find the same tastes I liked the first time. The waitress didnt even come & serve in front of me, she passed the plate from behind me, to my table, not one, but 3 times. So now that Bluestone Lane has plenty of addresses in New York, is there one of their place where I can have a good service? Or should I simply stop going there? read more

So this place was super cute in terms of having the best Instagram photos. I ordered an iced coffee and an avocado toast. When I got the coffee I went over to the side table with the milks and sugars, they had oat and almond milk which is awesome for me as I am vegan. They also have regular milk as well as half and half. On the sugar side I was a little more disappointed as they only had raw sugar(which doesn't dissolve in iced drinks as well) and stevia which I don't love the taste of. I wish that they would have had a simple syrup that I could put in the coffee. In terms of the toast is was nice, cooked well but I felt that is was under seasoned and at some times the avocado tasted sour. There was also some red chili flakes on the toast and drizzle with olive oil. read more

Ok food, not great service and mis-labeled green juice. On a scale of 0 to 10 I give the green juice a 0.5. If I were in a desert dying of thirst, I would drink it. Hard to think of another circumstance where I would consider it. It's 72% apple juice masquerading in packaging suggesting it's kale juice. I stumbled into here when jury duty didn't work out for me. I found myself a nice seat and just did work for hours. No one bothered me at all. I had a cute little beet latte which was so delish! Then I had a breakfast bowl when I got hungry. Everything was super fresh. An extra point for playing good music. I love how the Aussies do brunch. It's so good! I began my experience at Bluestone, which I have been eager to try for a while, by being greeted by the two most cheery, pleasant baristas! Note: it was 7:30 am on a Sunday and they were friendly! The coffee shop itself is decorated like a tropical oasis, so bright and inviting. I am both a coffee fanatic and matcha lover, so I grabbed an iced matcha with almond emily and a cold brew.
