Tried BLVD Bistro for the first time on a Saturday 2PM for late lunch. We wanted to try out this place and made reservations a few weeks ago (recommended). It was very lively, energetic place with loud music and a DJ, packed with lots of people. Our group of four had the lobster and crab cakes, pear and goat cheese salad, shrimp and grits, and fried okra (note: small portion for this dish) . All the dishes were excellent. The shrimp and grits were the star we could have ordered another one. Pear & Goat cheese salad was good but I think I would go with something else next time. We really wanted the watermelon and goat cheese but it wasn't in season. The food took about 45 minutes to come out, so we asked the server for some biscuits served with butter and jam to tide us over. (I would recommend that if you are hungry). If you are looking for quiet place or a place allowing for conversation, this is probably not the right place on a Sat afternoon. Right place for good food, noise and fun. read more

My friends took me out after hip surgery because I have been feeling pretty down, and unfortunately this experience made things worse instead of better. We had reservations for 8:30 PM but were not seated until 9:30 PM, right in the center of the restaurant. We ordered food and drinks, and everything was going fine until we paid the bill. Within seconds of paying, Manager Kabian approached our table aggressively demanding that we get up immediately because the table was needed for another reservation. Within about 3 minutes, he came to our table at least 5 times, even tapping on the table and threatening to call security if we did not leave. In total, he approached us around 7 times in less than 5 minutes. What made this even more upsetting was that I had just had hip surgery and needed a moment to get up comfortably. There were also other guests sitting with to go plates who were allowed to remain and enjoy the live performance, yet we were singled out and rushed out in a very hostile manner. This was extremely embarrassing and unnecessary. Even other staff members apologized to us on our way out, which says a lot. This manager's behavior was completely unacceptable and does not represent the kind of hospitality any establishment should stand for. He should seriously be retrained. read more

I came here on Sunday for brunch and this was not my choice. I went to the old location about five years ago. First they were very full and I recommend you make reservations. As soon as we came in we were seated. The food was delicious and well cooked. We ordered the chicken sliders and shrimp and grits. For drinks we also ordered the punch with peach. My fried chicken sliders were good; a bit small but it was good and tasty. The biscuit was good and soft and the chicken piece was well cooked and seasoned. I would definitely recommend it. The shrimp and grits was delicious the grits; were creamy and cheesy. I have never had grits as delicious as those grits there. Also they had jalapeño and bacon added which added a crunch and flavor. I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience honestly needs to be called out. I was the friend who brought her here after her surgery, hoping to give her a relaxing night out. Instead, we were met with one of the most unprofessional and aggressive managers I've ever encountered. We had an 8:30 PM reservation and weren't seated until after 9:30 PM. That was already frustrating, but we chose to overlook it and enjoy the night. Everything was fine... until the moment we paid. Immediately after paying, the manager approached our table in a very aggressive manner, rushing us to leave because he wanted to flip the table before the kitchen closed at 11 PM. Meanwhile, there were multiple other guests who had already paid and were still sitting, enjoying the live music -- yet we were singled out and repeatedly harassed to leave. When I asked to speak to a manager due to how we were being treated, his demeanor escalated even further. He folded his arms, started popping his neck, and aggressively stated that he was the manager. The way he spoke to us was confrontational, loud, and disrespectful -- to the point where he was literally spitting while talking at our table. He came back to our table multiple times within minutes, tapping on the table and continuing to pressure us to leave, with no regard for the fact that my friend had just had surgery and needed a moment to get up comfortably. There was absolutely no empathy, no professionalism, and no consistency in how customers were being treated. Other tables were allowed to stay, yet we were rushed out in a hostile and intimidating manner. No paying customer deserves to be treated this way. This was not hospitality -- it was completely unacceptable behavior. Based on this experience, I genuinely do not believe this individual is fit for a management role. The vibe here is always amazing and I frequent here a lot . Today I decided to get a different dish as my lobster meal that I always got for brunch is no longer on the menu. I ordered the steak , eggs and home fries . We honestly waited about 40 minutes for our food. My home fries , steak and eggs were super salty I couldn't finish it . It tasted like someone not only over seasoned it but also sprinkled salt on the finished product as I tasted the salt crystals while eating it. The steak was a great portion overall . My biscuit with the butter and jam was amazing as always. Would have been an easy 5 start rating if my dish wasn't so salty . Blvd Bistro on a Friday night is definitely a vibe. First things first, make sure you have a reservation and even with a reservation, it's possible you'll have to wait like we did. We arrived about 10 minutes prior to our reservation but then had to wait about 30 minutes total before we were seated. MY friend and I both ordered the catfish, potato salad and collard greens and they were all every good. They were seasoned will and though I did put some hot sauce on my catfish, I probably could have had it without. The night we went there was live music and I loved that the crowd was into it. We came here after work for drinks. It was SO PACKED no room at the bar so we sat at a table. It was a Monday, Presidents Day. We noticed our waiter was so overwhelmed. She was sweet, we told her not to worry about us... just had the peach sidecar drink which was YUM & fries to munch on for the table. I am writing to formally bring to your attention a very disappointing experience I had at BLVD Bistro today. At approximately 5:00 PM, my party and I arrived at the restaurant. While there, I made a 6:00 PM reservation online for a party of four after seeing that the time was available. We then waited patiently for our reservation time. While waiting, it became clear that the restaurant appeared to be significantly overbooked. There were multiple frustrated guests gathered around the host stand who had also been waiting to be seated despite having reservations. Unfortunately, the situation was made worse by the conduct of the host who initially greeted us. His behavior toward me and other guests was extremely unprofessional and hostile. At one point, he was standing near the host stand holding what appeared to be alcoholic beverages while interacting with guests, which felt inappropriate given his role managing reservations and seating. At approximately 5:45 PM--before my 6:00 PM reservation time had even arrived--the host abruptly told my party that he was canceling our reservation and stated that we were "not a priority." The statement made no sense given that our reservation time had not yet arrived, and the way it was delivered was unnecessarily hostile and embarrassing. Initially, I thought he was joking because the comment was so unreasonable. I then asked if I could please speak with a manager so the situation could be addressed. The host responded in a very dismissive and cocky manner, stating that the manager is "never there," implying that there was no one available to escalate the issue to. His attitude suggested that there would be no accountability for how he was treating guests. The interaction was embarrassing for my entire party. Several other guests who were standing nearby even expressed that they felt bad for me because of how rudely the situation was handled. I understand that restaurants can become busy and delays can happen. However, canceling a confirmed reservation before the reservation time and speaking to guests in such a hostile and dismissive manner is completely unacceptable. The overall environment at the host stand felt chaotic and unprofessional, with multiple customers expressing frustration about reservations and seating. I wanted to bring this to management's attention because no guest should be treated this way. I hope this matter is taken seriously and addressed appropriately so that other customers do not have a similar experience. read more

Seriously, BLVD, save yourself some cheddar and nix the weekend spinner. Who even DJs during brunch? If you want it all, get the Southern Dinner, which comes with either fried chicken or fried catfish (catfish always and forever), collard greens and potato salad that's actually seasoned (sans raisins!). I threw in a side of Cheese Grits because I wanted AAAALLLL the comfort food, and there were no regrets. It was large and filling and more savory than Himalayan sea salt lamp. Teetotalers will enjoy The Warm Up, which looks and tastes like a complex cocktail without any of the liver damage. I had come many years back when they were at the old location and it was good. This time to be honest I was disappointed. The biscuits arrived dry and cold. The cornbread was very good. On weekends the items on the menu (entree including sides) are preselected for you and you cannot substitute so if you don't want the sides they have on the menu that go with your meal, you'd have to pay for each additional item. The other two individuals ordered fried chicken with a side of fried fish. Potato salad tastes homemade. They both liked their meals. What I enjoyed most were the biscuits absolutely delicious as is. Anyway we received our apps and although the crab /lobster cakes taste good, those blvd wings did not . They were soggy with no flavor . Definitely didnt taste any soy/ginger glaze . She also left us there as the band began setting up so she can go back to talking to every. Single. Person she knew . She really shouldnt be working there , she should be a patron because she was way too distracted . I was passing through NYC for a day and made reservations to BLVD BISTRO sing along Sundays . We had reservations for 1:45 and arrived shortly after that time, and the line was out the door . I let the host know we had reservations and we were seated almost immediately. The DJ was jamming old school rap and about 15 mins later it switched to 90's R&B. I absolutely love 90's R&B so me and my table were singing our lungs out. Our waiter MALEEK was Amazing! He was so funny and cool he was even dancing around with the music. We started with drinks I ordered the Nat Turner (frozen Hennessy , Smirnoff, rum,nolet, triple sec,citrus) & my friends got the red sangria & frose all day. I tasted their drinks and they were all delicious. My drink was strong!! For food we ordered 2 orders of fried Okra that came with spicy aioli ,fried chicken sliders, BLVD wings & fried catfish dinner which came with Turkey collard greens & potato salad. I loved the food but the potato salad tasted like mustard so they did me a favor and allowed me to swap it out for more collard greens. We were good and full . I remember coming here over a year ago with my mom and food was good. So was the service. 2 days ago I took my niece after school. Soon as we ordered, there was a loud verbal dispute with the kitchen staff. Seems like they just fired someone and the gentleman was angry. Now EVERYTHING LACKED SEASONING. My salmon smelled bad and I sent it back! I no longer even wanted anything it was a sht show! He ended up leaving the premises and they unlocked the doors. I felt so bad for the host and servers I tipped them bc they tried their best to make sure everyone felt safe. BUT THE FOOD WAS HORRIBLE. First off - the food itself is really REALLY good! When they sit you down, you get a basket of biscuits. Wow, so buttery and flakey. For an entree, I ordered the fried chicken and biscuits. The fried chicken skin was SO FLAVORFUL and the chicken skin was so juicy. This order came with a wing, a drumstick, and a breast. We had reservations for 12:30 on a Saturday. Our party arrived promptly BUT we ended up waiting another hour to be sit down. Once we sat, they took our orders pretty fast BUT it took another hour to get the food at our table. To their credit, they offered free drinks since we were waiting so long for our table but still not the best experience.
